Contact sheet background color options iPhoto 9.10.1

I just upgraded to OS 10.9.1 and I can't figure out how to choose a black background when printing a contact sheet.  In the older version I could select contact sheet and then from the print option at the bottom I could pick a background color, enabling me to print a contact sheet with a black backgound instead of white. Has that option been discarded in OS 10.9.1?

Yes.  Possibly Apple considered offering a black background to be too wastefull of ink., or not.

  • Customized contact sheets from manual sorted iPhoto 7.0.2 albums.

I manually sorted photos in my iPhoto '08 album and want to print contact sheets showing the photos in this sorted order. Everything is working fine choosing the preselected contact sheet with 3 rows and 4 lines i. e. 12 pictures on each page. But when trying to customize the preselected contact sheet (for I want 4 rows and 5 lines) the manual sorting is gone and instead the pictures are sorted otherwise (by name I guess). Does anyone has any idea to solve the problem?
(I use Tiger 10.4.10, Mac Pro QuadCore, iPhoto 7.0.2)

    Gunther:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you tried dragging the photos in the contact sheet customize window to arrange them as you want? It works that way for me.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How to change background color in iPhoto app?

Hi, I have spend 20 hours creating a large iPhoto Book on the IPad2 iPhoto app. I want to cahnge the background colour of everypage from white to black. Can this be done, and if so, how?  Thank you.

I don't know much about iPhoto at all, but after a very brief look, it appears as though if you tap on the icon in the upper right part of the screen that looks like a page with the upper right corner turned down, the resulting window has a Background option with an arrow next to it. Tap the arrow and select black as the color in the next window.

  • Email background color selection - can't locate the option!

    Hi all,
I have a BB 8830 running OS 4.2.2.148 on Verizon. I use the application BES Mailbox so I have my work BES email seperated from my personal Roadrunner email. Some time ago, I found a way to change the background color of email messages (one color for BES, a different color for the Roadrunner). Well, I'm sick of that now but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change/remove the background colors! Can any of you expert BB users help me out?
    Thanks,
    Marty

  • ITunes 9 background color

Hey... i recall iTunes 8 having a dark grey / black background... which was very pleasing to the eye.
now iTunes 9 is all white, and it's straining let alone very 'boring'...
why the change? the contrast was so much more easy on the eyes.
Is there a way to change it back?
APPLE, please give us the option to change background colors like IPHOTO!!

I love the brilliant white background on Itunes 9. It really lights up my 1000sq. ft. living room. Of course, I also love frying my retinas by staring into the sun for 15 minutes at a time. To the Apple developer(s) who thought this was a good idea, please pass whatever it is your smoking. Also a bad call to remove the slider to adjust the icon size in grid view. Yes, there are hacks and even a 175MB program out there you can use to get the gray background back. But with all the money I've spent on apps, songs, and movies that reside in my library, I'm not comfortable having to hack iTunes to get back some things that should have never been removed to begin with. Come on Apple, please get a developer to respond to this thread (and while your here, tell me why a dam iPod Nano can now do video, but you guys couldn't offer us iPhone 3G users a software update to do video! oops, wrong forum. My bad).

  • Contact sheet query

How do I use one photo several times on a contact sheet?  It only places it once and I am unable to put more than one copy of the photo in an album so cannot choose several same photos to fill the contact sheet.  I have IPhoto version 9.5.1

It only places it once and I am unable to put more than one copy of the photo in an album
Use the "Duplicate" command to duplicate the photo as often as you want:  select the photo and use the menu item "Photo > Duplicate ⌘D".
Then add these duplicates to the album. They do not need much extra space and you can delete them again after printing.

  • Full screen view background color Pages 5.5.1

Is there a way to change the background color in Full Screen View back to black in Pages 5.5.1? I do not prefer the new default grey and would like to change it. I found a similar question in the forum for an earlier version of pages the pointed to a background color option in the format bar, but I cannot seem to find this option in the newer version. Tha

Beginning with Pages v5 in October 2013, and subsequent releases, there is no configurable means for a black background.

  • Background colors are now gone from every web page...

This happened just this morning. I've never seen this before. I don't believe it is my Netscape browser setting. I'm befuddled. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Yup! Thank you. That was it. I was there earlier in the day trying out different settings and must have left it on the wrong background color option.
My Excite home page is still missing background colors. But I now recall other times when Excite would have temporary maintenance episodes causing the "problem".

  • How can I change the background color of a contact sheet?

I'm making my contact sheet just fine but it's on a white background, and I'd like to change it to a darker gray. This functionality existed in an earlier version of Bridge but I'm not seeing it now that contact sheet is now in Photoshop. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Say what?
Anyway in Photoshop’s Contact Sheet II just don’t check "Flatten All Layers" and you can then add the intended background to the resulting files.

  • Change menus to black background and white text (not invert colors option)?

I have an iPhone 5 on the way to me as I got one for a very good price. I am visually impaired. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy s3 which is crapping out on me after having it for a long time). One of the features I love about it is, the menus (settings, contacts, etc etc) are in high contrast (black background with white text, which is much easier on my eyes and easier to read. It is my understandiing that the iPhone is not the same way. I had a friend look on his, and the only option he found was the "Invert colors" option. The reason I don't want to use that is because it inverts ALL colors for everything on the phone, including pictures. t just want to invert the colors in all the menus so I can read them easier. Is there any way to do this? BTW it's running IOS 8.

the invert colors option is the only way to achieve that on iPhone currently
you should go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and request that feature added, I think a lot of people would use that

  • Background color still prints even though Page Preview: Options is unchecked

The Options button in Page Setup (to print out the actual background color), is NOT checked. This should cause the page to print with a white background. The web page I printed had a green background; as did the page I printed out. How do I prevent this as it wastes a lot of ink?
This seems to happen whenever the web page doesn't have its own background color and so either uses mine (green) or the system colors (background color is a light salmon). How do I get it to print out with a white background?

Trying to wrap my brain around this one.
Many programs? Are you printing different files or they same file? Is it a PDF?
If PDF and in Acrobat, have you checked the page setup (CommandShiftP).
This will let you know what size of paper Acrobat is expecting to print to.
In the bottom left corner of your screen is the status bar which should show the size of the page in your document. Does this match the sheet size you are printing to? In your preview of the Page, are you seeing the entire page or is the view zoomed in?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Acrobat can be down right nasty when it wants to.
    Let me know

  • How on Earth do you Print Contact Sheet in Landscape Orientation in the new iPhoto?

Just upgraded to Maverick and new iPhoto and boy am I sorry.  In the last version of of iPhoto it was really difficult to print 4 to a page contact sheets from iPhoto in landscape mode.  Why would you want to print in any othe mode when most photos are taken in landscape?
Pleae help as I have to print these photos ASAP for a client.

First set the page size to letter- borderless. Next after selecting the Contact theme click on the Print Settings button and reset the page size to 11 wide and 8.5 high.
Finally set the columns to 2 which will give you this:
To test it without having to print each time use the PDF ➙ Save as PDF menu option.  If all looks good you can print from the PDF file.
There's no provision for adding a title at the top of the page.  However, create a TextEdit, Word, Pages, etc., document, put the title at the top and print over the printed contact sheet.

  • IPhoto freezes when asked to print contact sheet.

iPhoto had been working fine (well, as fine as iPhoto can be expected to work ) including printing off contact sheets, until it just stopped being able to do the latter.
It got stuck on the 'processing page 1' loading bar, and then what I assumed to be an error message appeared, except that I couldn't read it because it was so frozen that all the text was garbled. Then it printed out the second and last page of the contacts fine but the first page appeared extremely faded - to the point that the images weren't actually discernible.
Have repeated this process 3 or 4 times to see if it worked but with the same result each time. Only force quit enables me to exit. Recently purged my iPhoto of 99% of its content in the hope it would speed up, so I can't imagine it has anything to do with that.
I hate iPhoto. That aside, can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.
3 - try the contact sheet again.
Are you able to Save as PDF in the Print window and what does the PDF look like if you do.

  • Unable to print Contact Sheets from iPhoto

    Hi there,
Since installing Lion 10.7.5 on my Mac Pro I no longer get the option to print Contact Sheets from iPhoto. I'm running quite an old version of it I think (Version 6.0.6), however this was no problem before the upgrade.
Can anyone suggest a solution for this?
    Thanks in advance.

I just fired up my iPhoto 6.0.6 under Mt. Lion and I have no contact option in that version either.  You'll have to upgrade to at least iPhoto 7 (08) in order to get contact sheets back.  So you might as well upgrade to the latest iPhoto from the App Store.
If you also want the latest versions of iWeb and iDVD (which have been discontinued by Apple) you'll have to purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disc from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11.
