Container Variables Not Filled

Hi,
I have configured Alert Category and Alert Rules to trigger exceptions at Mapping, Adapter and Proxy level.  All these alerts are getting triggered properly.  But the container variable, &SXMS_FROM_SERVICE& is not getting populated and displays the tag as such.
I infact checked the Note 947738 (Container Element not filled).  But this is for SP 09.  We are in Release 7.0 SP 11.  So the note is already implemented.
But still I am facing this problem.  The container variables are not filled.  Can someone suggest how to fix this.
Regards.
Bala

Hi,
Are all the other Container Variables being populated?
If yes, one option is to check note : 913858 . This note describes one question when the From Interface Container variable does not fill up. Check what it mentions.

  • Hierarchy authorization variable not filled

    Hi experts,
    I'm trying to give users access to their node in the 0COSTCENTER hierarchy using a variable $VARHCECO in a authotitazion object. This object has 0COSTCENTER equal to ' ' and 0TCTAUTHH equal to $VARHCECO. In the report variable customer exit this variable is filled in the I_STEP = 0 with the information that is stored in a ODS. Each user only can view his/her subtree cost centers.
    Finally, in the query, a authorization variable is used in order to choose the nodes that the user has authorization.
    The problem is that in runtime, neither the variable VARHCECO nor the I_STEP = 0 is reached because the customer exit is only called for i_VNAME blank and I_STEP = 3. As a consequence, I get an authorization error because of the variable is never filled.
    How can I manage for the customer exit is called for variable VARHCECO and I_STEP = 0?
    Many thanks in advance,
    David Moreno

    Hi David,
    We have handled a similar scenario (not for cost center but for Organization Unit hierarchy) in a different way. Instead of using authorization object, we have defined a variable through customer exit.
    The flow goes like this. You define a variable for which the values get filled up through customer exit. User do not have the flexibiity pass any values to this variable. It by default goes to the master, Picks up the Organization unit, he is assigned to, calls the function module which identifies the nodes under that Org unit hierarchy.. Passes the list of Org_units to e_t_range.
    By this he can by default see all objects/employees under his org unit and the Hierarchy below that only.
    Trust this helps.

  • Authorization variable not filled with authorization values

    Hello All
    I post a similar message earlier this week, I thought that my issue was solved, but it was not.
    I've got a workbook with 4 differents queries.
    There as an authorizations variable in each query. This variable properties is as follows :
    **General tab**
    Type of variable : characteristic value
    Processing type : authorization
    Characteristic : company code
    **Details**
    Variable represents : selection options
    Variable is : optional
    Variable is ready for input : yes
    I've followed recommandations from OSS notes 976680
    My issue is : if I run each query individually, variable is filled with authorized values
    If I run the workbook, variable is not filled with authorized value, so when end user run the workbook, BW consider that end user wants to see all data and get "No authorization".
    I don't understand why variable within the workbook doesn't show the authorized values and why the queries do.
    Any suggestion about this issue ????
    Thanks
    Catherine

    Hi
    thanks for replying
    I ran the query with UserID from RSECADMIN and I could open the query. But if I want to select 0profit_ctr I get this error No authorization to characteristic values.
    I  checked the log and this is the message.

    InfoProvider FIGL_MP1
    Value Authorization for Characteristic 0PROFIT_CTR

  • Authorization variables not filled up in Bex Portfolio

    Hi there,
    not sure if any of you guys came across this, but i have saved a web report on "bex portfolio"section. When i run this report, the authorization variables are not getting filled up.
    but it works when i run the report using "new analysis" in Bex web analyzer tool.
    does anyone has an idea?
    I want to publish the reports in Bex portfolio because it is mush simpler for end users that don't have use Bex web analyzer and then open roles and then choose a report.
    is there any easier way to do this?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi -
    I assume that you might have kept the filters(Variables) in Default Values section. Only filters which are placed in Characterstic restrictions will appear in Universe Designer. Thanks!

  • BPM Alert Container Elements Not Filled

    Hi All,
    Another problem i am facing when i am raising alert from BPM.
    In inbox i see alert message being raised but with no text.
    I have also subscribed to email alerts.
    In the email the subject is Process 000000008058
    and the content is the first alphabet of the AlertMessage container element.
    Ex : In BPM my container element is AlertMessage and the message assigned is <i>Error</i> . Then in email message i only get E. where as in alert inbox i get nothing.
    ps : im using XI 7.0 SP 9. there are no notes which are applicable for this release.

    Hi Bhavesh,
    <i>>When you select Dynamic text in the Alert category, the Container tab will no longer be available in ALRTCATDEF for your Alet Category.!</i>
    the container tab is available but the Long& Short text tab is disabled.
    I did not mean that..
    What i meant was see next to the Properties tab in Alert Category defination there is a Container tab where we define our own container elements.
    Do i need to define the names there..or i can directly use in the BPM?

  • Queue alerts container variables are not getting filled

    Hi All,
    I am referring this blog to create alerts when message struck in queues
    /people/santhosh.kumarv/blog/2009/05/19/sap-xipi-alerts-for-queue-errors
    I am able to get the alert when a message struck in Queue of XI. But Container variables are not filled with actual run time values
    I have used the report as it is and container variables as described in blog.
    I have implemented Alerts for IE & AE alerts, those are looks good as expected.
    Please let me know any clue
    Regards

    Hi,
    After investigating all the things i found these
    1) We have already Integration Engine & Adapter Engine Alerts configured in landscape with separate alert categories & working fine
    2) Now i configured one more alert category for Queue error with the above mentioned Blog
    Important thing: is even though if any error occurred on Integration engine, i get 2 alerts. one with Integration Engine alert category description  & one more is with Queue alert category description
    Reason for this is, for Queue alert category i selected radio button as "No Restriction". because of this if any IE error occurred also queue alert category is also triggering along with Integration engine alert category .
    Please let me know is it possible to implement Queue alerts along with the IE & AE type alert categories
    Any one implemented IE, AE & Queue alerts in single landscape

  • Not able to give multiline container variable in transformation step.

    Hello,
    I'm doing a simple collect pattern in BPM.
    I have three container variables, one- the source interface, second the multiline of source interface and third-the target interface.
    Now, i have block in which i have the exception and deadline steps and then a loop in which i have my receiver which collects the message and gives it to the container to keep it to the list. Outside the block i have my transformation step which takes the relevant interface mapping. When i try to give the multiline container variable the box turns red, but of give the normal source container variable it accepts it.
    If i do a check by F7, Expression must not return a multiline value.
    The scope of the container variables is maintained as Process.
    What could be wrong, please help.
    Thanks and regards,
    Akhil

    hi akhil,
    think in transformation it sees source messages and target messages.
    if u have n:1 scenario then n interfaces to one interface right
    thats is each interface will have one message type
    so if u are using interace mapping in transformation it is expecting n interface variables to one interface variable.
    it will display n source messages to one source message jsut check.
    so transformation step is expecting one n sub message types to be embedded in one message type
    <messages>
    <message 1>
    <meessage n>
    </messages>
    this one is mapped with one XML target messgae
    so if u have n different messages see that u compress them in to one message type like the above and give it in trasnformation step.
    if you have n different messages then u can alwasy go for n different interfaces to one single interface
    then u can see in tranformation step n diff source messages and one target message
    was just confused with reciever step which allows multiline receivers
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Container Variable value not reflected in Alert message

    Hi All,
    In BPM, i am trying to set an Alert message which will send the message in alert Inbox. Here i have stored a value from the message in a container variable. This Container variable value is used in the Alert message in the form of &variable&. But whenever i specify container variable value, it is not reflected in the Long text of Alert Inbox. In Alert category i have also checked the Dynamic text. Still it is not coming.
    Can u suggest what is the possible solution for this.
    Thanks in advance
    Ashish

    I was able to get the Alert Message by changing container variable from "Block " to "Process". But It was containing the value of the first message.
    Actually i am having a scenario in which i am transforming a File message input into multiple messages based on its PO number using multi mapping. These messages are send as IDOCs using Parrallel for Each block, where i store the PO number in the container variable and use it in alert message. So for that i have to use this block name as container and not as a Process.
    Can anybody tell me why this Container Variable value is not reflected in the alert message.
    Thanks in advance
    Ashish

  • Some Out-Variables are not filled when one is missing (Oracle-Client 10)

    Hello everybody,
    we have a problem in our applications, written in C++ using OCI.
    All works fine with Oracle Client 8 and 9, the problem occurs when using Client 10.
    A simple example:
    select 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 from dual;
    I have 4 out-variables, the 3rd one is missing:
    OCIDefineByPos(..., 1, &out1, ...);
    OCIDefineByPos(..., 2, &out2, ...);
    OCIDefineByPos(..., 4, &out4, ...);
    OCIDefineByPos(..., 5, &out5, ...);
    When executing with Oracle Client 8 and 9, the result is:
    out1 = 1
    out2 = 2
    out4 = 4
    out5 = 5
    Executing the same with Oracle Client 10, the result is:
    out1 = 1
    out2 = 2
    out4 = 0
    out5 = 0
    When there is a selected column without a variable for it, all following out-variables are not filled. Can someone repeat and / or explain this? I read the Oracle Docs for the OCI 10, but nowhere is a hint about differences or changes in this behaviour. I know that when selecting a column I should spend an out-variable for it, but nobody is perfect.
    Here are some details:
    Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0
    Client OS Windows XP SP1
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0
    Application developed with Visual Studio C++ 7.1
    Thanks for any help.

    hi,

    I have 3 parameters I give the function.
    2 of the 3 parameters are sent correct, but one is initial (it's not initial in my testdataCont)

    any ideas?
    edit:
    test data is also shown in log of script after its run and is filled there correct, but in debugging mode it's not filled (in function module)...

  • Reg:Container variables in BPM

    Hi...
        I have done one scenario with BPM.
    In that i have  used the below steps.
    1. Fork with  2 receive steps.
    2. and two container steps for the 2 recieve steps ( vara= "I" for the first recieve step, and varb= "S" for the second receive step)
    3.wait -- for 1 min
    4. switch (if  vara ="I" and varb="S", then branch 1 should execute, if vara="I",then branch 2should execute else we need to cancel the process)
    the above steps i have used and executed the scenario. It is working fine. BUt i am having problem with the containers.
    I am not able to satisfy the condition for [if  vara="I" and varb="S",]
    The switch is not going to check the above conditon because whenever the file is recieved the container variable will get updated and wait for 1 min and will go for  switch contion. So here i can check only for single condition at a time.
    Can you please help me how to check the both the container variables at an time..?
    Regards,
    Leela

    Can you please help me how to check the both the container variables at an time..?
    So when the Switch Step is executed are both the variables filled with the required values (I am not able to understand your query clearly)....if both the variables are filled then in the condition editor you can define the condition based on both the values (use And...it will be Insert Expression ...for executing Branch 1)
    It will be something like var1 = I And var2 = S .....while selcting the left operand select the appropriate message.
    If you are on 7.1 then create two condition variables representing var1 and var2.
    Similarly when defing condition for Branch2 it will be only var1 to be used.

    Abhishek.

  • ALert Cat- Conatainer Elements are not filled

    Hi I am raising an Alert using a UDF by calling SALERT_CREATE FM in my mapping, and I have defined the Container Elements SXMS_MSG_GUID & SXMS_ERROR_CODE in the ALERTCATDEF,But when the Alert is raised, these Variables are not filled, It says <SXMS_ERROR_CODE>no error code found....any pointers on this... its a Non-BPM scenario.Thank you.

    Hi John,
    Which Service Pack are you in currently.
    You should not type the container elements.  There is an icon where you can fetch it.  Also check the corresponding data type for the container element.  If you are using a wrong data type, which is not valid for that container element, you might face problems.
    Check Note : 947738 to solve this issue.   Also check Troubleshooting Note specifically 913858.
    Regards.
