Hi Gurus,
We have installed Content server & cache server in different boxes. Now can anyone tell me how do integrate these two servers & configure the saem in SAP server....
Hi Rajat,
Thank you very much for your reply.. But that couldn't solve the problem.
Actually I have configured Content repository in SAP system. Now I have to integrate the Cache server with Content & SAP system. So please help me in connecting cache with Content & SAP system. As all are installed in different servers.
Please help me to proceed further as I am stuck here.
Thanks in advance,

Dear Expert
DMS DB ( maxdb ) attach and de-attach work with cache server.
we have already implement Content Server few month back and now we need to install DMS cache server for Content server.
Our Content server grow up to 30 GB and we need to fill our Cache Server with the same.
My question is if take backup of Database CS server ( 30 gb) attach to Cacher server ( I mean attach and de-attach) will it work for cacahe sever same as CS server.
RegardsHi,
You may need to install Cache Server like you did for content server using sapinst installer.
Refer SAP Note 216419 - Multilevel caching and content server
For cache server configuration.
Attach and Detach won't work in MaxDB. You may need to perform backup/restore which I feel won't be a good practise here.

General Warning: could not get server configuration in ldap, using cached c
Guys,
desperately need some help here. I have an installation consisting of 4 mtas that speak to an ldap. I'm currently in the process of adding 2 more. I've added the fifth and there has been no problem whatsoever. I'm now trying to add the sixth. I install the software. There are no error messages as the software installs. It's able to see both the configuration and the user directories. Once this is finished I immediately go and run start-msg and for each component I get the message :
"General Warning: could not get server configuration in ldap, using cached configuration information".
I've tried pinging and tracerouting my ldap server with no problem, I can telnet/ssh to it. My server configuration is almost eaxctly the same as the fifth server. I make no other changes after the installation scripts finishes, yet it can't talk to the ldap.
I running IMS5.2p1 on a Solaris 8 SPARC server.
Thanks
AliThat error message only comes up when the server can't get to the config ldap server on startup. There's no other time when you see this.
There is either a mis-configuration of your server, or of your ldap, or you just can't get there from here.
Why are you installing 5.2p1, now? 5.2p2 has been out for over a year. ..
6.0 has been out for well over a year, and 6.2 has been out for many months, now. I hate to see you installing old software, when new is available. -
Configuring Macbook to use Caching Server
Hi,
I have an iMac (10.9.2) running OSX Server. I just got a Macbook Pro retina and set it up for Time Machine backups which work fine.
I also set up the 'Caching' server, but I have some questions about configuring the App Store on the Macbook. Do I turn off all automatic download options on the Macbook?
I ask because it seems like the Macbook pulled 10.9.2 off the internet instead of my iMac. This was a while back so it looks like the logs for that time are gone.
Regards, PatrickThanks for the responses.
Through observation of the log while downloading, I answered my question and, you're right, it autoconfigures and just works.
According to the docs, the caching server will cache software updates. SUS is overkill for what I need.
Regards, Patrick -
Hi ... How does the clients (iOS devices) to configure/use the caching server to download apps from local caching server instead of App store?
Hi,
If you want to restore a reomoved app,you need to use
Add-AppxPackage to add a signed app package (.appx) to a user account.
But we cannot extract them from the ISO.
The behavior is by design. And this is a software protection regime.
Thanks for your understanding.

How to apply Qos in the precedence of cache server
m in an isp and iwant to apply the QOS to enhance my network internet performance
actually i have two requests , i will start with showing brief topology about my network and start asking the questions .
here is the topology below :
from the topology above , my access is only on R1 which is BGP internet gateway router and R2 is my ISP router.
1- i want to apply Qos on R1 so that a subnet of 32 ips to have gurantee bandwidth of 30M .
assume the subnet is 10.20.30.0/27 that need to be bw gurantee .
2- i want the download traffic by idman or ftp on my Router R1 dont exceed 50 % of my total bw .
i mean that i have 450M bandwith from my isp , & sometimes we have a slow in browsing , so i want to enhance the browsing quality because its more important that downloading files from internet.
here is my two requests above , i dont know how it will work with the precedence of the cache server .
anyway , i will paste my config of router and i will replace my puplic ips with xxx for privacy .

Kannan KKannan,
the error in your logs like "NoClassDefFoundError" etc. point us towards issues with jar files. either they are missing or not the correct ones.
A general practice in such situation is to
stop all servers except CMS,IFRS,OFRS > repair the base installation
OR
If you have a working environment with the exact same patch, copy the 'lib' folder from "/bobje/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/java/" to the non-working server.
PS: please attach the logs to the thread instead of pasting the content.

Cache server getcert http request issue
Hi,
We are using third party repository for documents archiving and storage. And we have separate application for connecting third party repository to the SAP.
We have installed content server and cache server on the system where SAP was installed.
Now we want to run getcert HTTP request from our application so that we will get the certificate from SAP cache server. What we need to do in order to achieve the same? Or in other words how we can make the connectivity between cache server and the third party repository?
We have verified the following URLs
http://10.224.1.37:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo
http://10.224.1.37:1095/Cache/CSProxyCache.dll?serverInfo
(Where 10.224.1.37 is the IP address of the system where SAP is installed)
for content server and cache server respectively.
The URL for cache server was giving the correct server information but URL for content server is not at all showing any server information even after running for long time.
Could you please tell me step by step by procedure and configuration steps for running get cert request to cache server? We want to know how to send the getcert request to third party content management system from cache server.
We have given the following URL in http get functional module but we are getting a 400 bad request response
http://10.224.1.37:1095/Cache/CSProxyCache.dll?getcert&pversion=0046&conrep=RH
Where RH is pointing to the third party content server (through transaction oac0).
Thanks,
RaviHi All,
I am also facing the same problem, Please help us out to solve this issue.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Yes, with two nodes you should be able to put more data into your Coherence cluster - the capacity scales with the number of storage nodes in the cluster.
Actually, this is not true. :-)
By default configuration, and not using indexes, you are able to store the same amount of data in one node as in two nodes in case of a distributed cache.
This is because if you have one node, Coherence does not create backups. If you have two nodes, it creates one backup (if you configured a backup, which default configuration did).
It starts to increase total capacity only with the third node (assuming backup count is 1).
All of this assuming that all nodes are storage-enabled and are running the service.

Hi All -
We currently have a Mac Mini and utilize its caching server functionality on our "normal" subnet. We also have a "guest" subnet which is abstracted from our normal subnet (used for guest wireless devices/BYOT). Would it be possible to use the Thunderbolt to Gigabit ethernet adapter on our Mac Mini and have the caching server serve updates on both interfaces/subnets so we do not have to buy a separate Mini to serve the guest subnet? Both networks and the server will have to have the same single WAN IP address. The following diagram shows a possible configuration that would work.
Subnet A -------------+

Server +---------- Firewall/NAT ------ Internet

Subnet B -------------+
The following should also work
Subnet A ---------- Server ---------- Subnet B --------- Firewall/NAT --- Internet
The above however requires the Server to act as a router to forward traffic
The following would not work
Subnet A -------------+
|
+---------- Firewall/NAT ------ Internet

Subnet B -------------+---------------------------------- Server
With the above the Server has its own public IP address and is also directly connected to one of the internal networks. As the server has its own public IP address this will be different to the shared (NATed) public IP address that everything else is using. As the public IP addresses are different the clients will not be able to use the Caching server. -
Integration Server configuration error
Hi all,
I have an issue with the XI Integration server configuration.
When I have tested the configuration I have detected that there is an error in the Integration server (transaction SXMB_ADM)
The value was:
http://xxx:xxxx:/sap_xi/engine?type=entry
instead of
http://xxx:xxxx/sap_xi/engine?type=entry
note that the fisrt value have : after the port number.
I have tested the SLD Bussines System configuration and had the same issue, I have solved too.
But when I execute the test for integration server in transaction SXMB_ADM i have the next message:
Corresponding Integration Server: Current Configuration <> System Landscape
For the SLD Role of Bussines System the value in this test is the old value, not the new.
Could somebody tell me if i forget something?
Thanks in advance,
RPHI,
This is somthing related to Cache . Try to refresh Cache.

Hi there,
I am admin of an new ISP.Our service ADSL2+ over pppoe.Regarding to ISP legals,We have to track and monitor the users that who surf the witch Website. For example IP x.x.x.x by MAC y.y.y.y watch the www.xxx.com at 3:00 am.
Would you recommend me what to use?
I heard that I have to use Cache server in my network.
Please sending me an advice.
ThanksYou just need to run...
java <parameters> -cp <your class path> DefaultCacheServerwhere...
<parameters> is set to the same set of -D paramters you have given the application inside WebLogic.
<your class path> is all the jar files in your application, including coherence.jar (but you don't need any ear or web app stuff obviously)
Presumably you have configured the system properties for your application in WebLogic to set the multicast address (-Dtangosol.coherence.clusteraddress
and -Dtangosol.coherence.clusterport), cache config (-Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig) etc... If you have not then you really should! You basically run DefaultCacheServer with the same parameters.
When I have used Weblogic and Coherence in the past the usual configurationis to run a number of storage enabled cache server nodes (which is what you are asking about) and then run the WebLogic nodes as storage diabled cluster members. This is much more efficient as it lets the storage enabled node just concentrate on storing data nad the WebLogic node just concentrate on you application.
