Contract Sign Date from VBAK and VBAP and VEDA.
Hi ,
I need to fetch the Sales Document from VBAK and VBAP and VEDA with the contract sign date for sales document line item .
Contract sign date is in selection screen as select options.
Please let me know how to fetch the sales Document per line item from these 3 tables considering that A sales document could have many line items and each can have a different sign date.

Hi,
The link between all the tables VBAK, VBAP and VEDA is VBELN i.e sales document number.
However, while fetching from VBAP and VEDA you would need to consider POSNR as well.
As your ABAPer to code the logic using 'for all entries' method.

You can use the view WB2_V_VBAK_VBAP2 for fetching data from VBAK and VBAP instead of using a JOIN. Note that, in the view, item data fields will have a I following the field name (POSNRI, MATNR_I are the item data fields from VBAP). The master data fields of VBAK are the same.
As far as i know, there are no standard views provided by SAP for VBEP and VBBE. Not sure if FM exists either.
While using FOR ALL ENTRIES clause make sure that you specify the entire primary key (EX. if selecting from VBAP specify VBELN and POSNR) as fields for selection or in the selection criteria. Its much better if you have the primary key in both. This is really important because without specifying the entire key and using FOR ALL ENTRIES will drastically bring down the performance. And also, If you are fetching not more than 100 or 200 entries using the clause it is fine, beyond that its same as using a select statement within LOOP...ENDLOOP.
So, you have to decide whether to use FOR ALL ENTRIES or a JOIN while selecting data depending on the requirement. If you don't have the entire key either in fields for selection or selection criteria, then its better to use a JOIN or VIEW.
The following is an example for using FOR ALL ENTRIES clause effectively.
Select VBELN
POSNR
MATNR
From VBAP
into Table T_VBAP
For All Entries in T_DATA
Where VBELN eq T_DATA-VBELN
And POSNR eq T_DATA-POSNR.

Since the whole app originally was client-server app and I want to make it more scalable, so I decide to separate business logic in the EJB but I also want to keep the performance and the userfriendliness of the original user interface, and I want to continue using Swing as the original user interface does.
I've read about using Rowset and I need some opinions about this from you guys who already have some experience with it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you recommend some ways to extract data from SAP and load it into Essbase?. I have no knowledge about SAP, not sure how I can perform this task. Can I use ODI for this job?

you can create connection from EAS to SAP .. using a plug-in .. if you have access to oracle Support go for [ID 968961.1]
or
below are steps
1. In EASPATH\console, open components.xml in a text editor.
2. Under <PluginList>, enter <Plugin archiveName="SAP" packageName="com.essbase.eas.sap.ui"/> before the closing </PlugIn> tag.
3. Save and close the file.
4. In EASPATH\console\bin, open admincon.lax in a text editor.
5. Search for lax.class.path= and append ;..\lib\sap_client.jar;..\lib \sap_common.jar to the entry. Save and close the file.
6. In EASPATH\server\bin, open adminsvr.lax in a text editor.
7. Search for lax.nl.java.option.additional, and append -DRFC_INI=EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini. Save and close the file.
8. Create a new environment variable, RFC_INI, with a value of EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini
9. Copy librfc.dll andsapjcorfc.dll to EASPATH\server\bin. You may need to obtain these files from SAP.

Karthickto do this you can either develop a XSLT program and use it with CALL TRNSFORMATION key word to tranform the XML into itab .
(search the ABAP General forum, i have posted few samples)
or simply use the following FM which converts your XML into a itab of name value pair (name would holw the element name and value would hold the value of the element) which you can then loop and read it to your itb.
data: xmldata type xstring .
data: result_xml type standard table of smum_xmltb .
data: return type standard table of bapiret2 .
CALL FUNCTION 'SMUM_XML_PARSE'
EXPORTING
xml_input = xmldata
TABLES
xml_table = result_xml
return = return .

To Fetch Data from GTS and print in R/3
Hi,
iam in need of help.
the core is i have a print program in R/3.from R/3 i have to validate some field with SAPGTS.
so that i have to apply a RFC call from R/3 ( print program ) to GTS and i have to fetch the data from GTS and print in R/3.
help me out in finding the RFC.
the print program is for VL02NMohan:
SAP and GTS are linked through a RFC destination and the RFC user ID is used to make the call. Once this is set up, you can call GTS through a Function Module call. The set up is normally done by BASIS team
From the program /SAPSLL/SAPLCD_PI_R3 you can drill down to get details of the specific user-exit which you can use to call GTS tables for specific data.

My dataset query has grouped the results by year and week number, so I am trying to construct the week ending date from year and week number.Week end date can be got as below

We need to Extract data from SAP and send to an external system via Webmethods middlewear using IDOCs. I have never used webmethods before and would like to know more about how to implement this scenario. I have used IDOCS in an EDI scenario before but not used it along with WebMethods.
Any pointers would be of great help. ThanksIf you have already ABAP programs /BAPI's in place then try to develop RFC interface and write some back ground programs to scheudl BAPI's and develop scenario but you need to implement error handling , data validation in PI mapping level.

take help from ABAPer to design in ABAP like writing Proxy program to pull data and send it PI.

Make a coma separated file from your excel file.
Assuming that your requirement allows to make a csv file.
This file may be passed as an file object to be read by java.Using JDBC you must be able to populate the data base.You can also use String Tokenizer if needed.
You do not want to go via sql Loader?

You can use the Apache POI HSSF API to read data from Excel files and you can use the Sun JDBC API to insert data in database.
