Contribute Menu area Not Resizable

Hi I upgraded CS3 Web Premium to CS5.5 and Contribute 5 has a large area for the menu. Should just be two lines one for icons and one for File|Edit|View etc. But instead it takes up over 1/3 of my workspace. Is there anyway to fix this? I am unable to resize it no mouse area to click on to resize. Windows 7 OS also did a full uninstall deleted all Adobe folders in Program Files and User App.

Actually it just fixed itself when I spoke with an Adobe Rep the problem
had gone away. Very strange.

Were there any other Adobe Apps installed, and signed in to CS Live
services. A silent update to CSService Manager would repair this issue.

The menues are not appearing for me to work on a photo, even though the program has downloaded?

The meues are not visable on the photoshop window to work on a photo. I downloaded a bunch of photos to work on but all I can do is archive or rename. How do I get to edit them? Where are the menues? I downloaded the program and it is open.

Most menus will be greyed out until you have an image open, but you can do that via the file menu, or using Ctrl o (Cmd o). Does that work?

The buttons on my horizontal menu are not working.

I am creating my first site. Everytime I preview the site, the horizontal buttons dont work from the menue widget. I cant figure out what the problem is. It worked for me one time, but then I moved some items around and it didnt work again. Thoughts?

The issue is as I had suspected earlier. The menu items are not clickable because they are overlapped by a div (an empty rectangle etc.), and if that is deleted, the menu items work fine. Check this short video I created for you: http://jingsite.businesscatalyst.com/jing/2013-09-30_2259.swf
You will need to get rid of it from the design mode and republish the site to resolve the issue.

Thumbnails in New Tab Page are not resizing

Hey,
Since the latest update (33.0.2), the thumbnails for the websites on the 'New Tab Page' do not resize when the window is resized, so I cannot see all the thumbnails unless the window is full screen. It used to be that if I dragged the corner of the window to make it smaller or larger, the thumbnails would resize so I could always see all of them. I'm always multi-tasking and never have the browser full screen so it is a bit annoying.

The issue that jscher2000 had is basically the same problem I'm having, but rather than just making all the thumbnails permanently smaller, I would like to restore the previous functionality that would resize them as needed. It always worked great until just a few days ago when I installed the latest update.
Using jscher2000's solution would help, but not completely fix it... I can use that solution if that's the only thing I can do, but I would much rather get the previous method back.

The properties menu will not resize

I am new to Captivate; most familiar with Lectora. I am attempting to customize buttons using saved images; however, the properties panel will not resize prohibiting me from selecting the ‘browse’ key. I have tried resetting the workspace, undocking the properties panel, closing the document and reopening. I am running out of options. Any assistance will be more than appreciated.

Sighing, the Properties panel cannot be resized beyond a certain maximum. Apparently there is some long label name somewhere, probably with your custom image buttons. Why not fill a shape with an image and use that as a button? Just a personal remark, since CP6 I never use custom image buttons anymore.
Since you already retried resetting workspace, another workspace, here is the only workaround I know that will increase the width of that panel: drag it to the docking station at the bottom (with the Timeline) and it will resize to the width of that station. Even making it floating will not succeed in making it wider.

JFrame change : now components are not resized

I recompiled a Swing app that I wrote a few years back and noticed that resizing the window does not resize the components within it.
To see what I mean, compile and run BorderLayoutDemo.java with 1.6, and then with 1.4 (I don't know about 1.5). The buttons will resize in the version compiled and run with 1.4 but will not with 1.6.
Does anyone know of a readme or tutorial which details what mods I have to make to my code to effect the "old" functionality of having the Components of a JFrame resize using the default ContentPane and LayoutManager ?

Both work OK for me, 1.4 and 1.6, on winxp

View Area not Resizing with Window Resize

Hello-
When I resize a window that has a pdf in it (in reader or through browser), the pdf doesn't adapt to the new window size. For instance, if the pdf opens in a small window and I maximize the window, the pdf will remain in one corner of the maximized window with scroll bars on it. The pdf area does not change size.
Is this a setting that I may have noobishly mal-adjusted? Or is this a bug/incompatibility?
The only exception to this problem is if the pdf is changed to full screen mode. In full screen the pdf changes size to match the window and re-centers.
I keep the auto-update feature on and have installed all updates. I am running Vista Ultimate on an HP tablet PC.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

[SOLVED] Xfce composite settings are not respected

I have come across a problem with the Xfce composite manager. I enable this primarily to have conky draw transparently on the desktop wallpaper, but then found shadows and transparency did not cause much more impact on performance after enabling composite effects in the first place.
But now I'm experiencing that some settings in the Tweaks settings menu are not respected. For instance, I've enabled transparency both when moving and resizing windows, but they only turn transparent when moving them. Also, I've enabled transparency for notifications, which to my understanding includes the desktop right-click menu, but they are opaque. Anybody else experience this? I've tried turning composite effects off, logging out and back in and turning them on again. No luck there. Also, if you should know where these settings are stored (text file somewhere/Xconf...) I'd be happy to inspect them

Now it does for me as well. The reason I thought the menu was a part of it was because it became transparent when I enabled notification transparency the first time but this behaviour went away after a logoff-login I think.
The big problem I'm struggeling with now is still the fact that xfwm does not respect the settings as found in Xfconf / Settings -> Tweaks. The shadows on the borders won't go away no matter what I do; however and I'm able to turn off the resize/move transparency in-session. When I log out and back in again, the behaviour reverts, although the settings as I set them remain unchanged =_=
If anything, does anybody know how to return all of xfwm's settings to the default, so I can start over? All I really need compositing for is transparent conky anyways....
EDIT: Okey, it seems this has something to do with the xfwm theme I use :s after switching to other themes in the list I am suddenly in control of the composite effects again... Does this mean that the theme I use stores info on what composite effects it should use??

Context Menu is not working in flash player 10.1

I write a flex application. I added some custom menu items in context menu. when I compiled this code using flashplayer 10.0, it works fine and my added context menu items are shown when I Right-Click. But when I compile same code for flashPlayer 10.1, menu items that I added in context menu are not shown when I Right-Click. What should I do to resolve this issue? I am using sdk 3.5.
Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.

Synced bookmarks can be searched for and found but many are not displayed on the complete scrollable bookmarks list.

How odd. I've a somewhat complex bookmarks menu hierarchy, perhaps two dozen folders each containing between five and fifty bookmarks as well as a sub-folder or two. All of this is synced and displayed correctly with the bookmarks tab in the app, except for some of the more recent bookmarks that not organized into folders, and are floating inside the bookmarks menu. Of thirty or so, only five appear. Yet, when I search for them within the app they are found, including several bookmarks made today. These are bookmarks contained in the bookmarks menu but not in any particular folders. Clearly they are synced, yet the entire contents of the bookmarks menu are not displayed correctly in the app. Syncing otherwise seems swift. I've less than 600 bookmarks in total. I seek not to search for specific bookmarks but to browse my entire collection, so you can sense my frustration. I'd call this a bug. Any thoughts? Thanks!

No I didn't change anything deep beneath the hood. My problem didn't apply to the URL, but to the name of the link or bookmark header or whatever you would like to call it. (When hitting Ctrl + D there is a Name field). I only got ???????? instead of chinese characters in the name. Also for e.g. www.cntv.cn ...but maybe all China is not in the whitelist either. ;-) But anyway, this was not the real problem for me.
Apparently I was wrong as after a reboot of the computer it worked. The solution seemed to be to add Chinese to the language list. I don't know why it was not enough to restart Firefox?
Now I only have problems to show chinese characters in the name field of my external link manager... But I guess it is not an issue for Mozilla.

Sites are not shown in full

Some websites that requires password to open are not loading, and some websites with drop down menues are not showing all functions as well.

Installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) may help the drop down menu issue.
And deleting the cache associated with Safari may help both.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac after installing the combo and deleting the Cache.db file.
Then try Safari.

For Lion v10.7x: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

Photos not resizing into template with mask

When I drag certain photos into the iWeb template, they are not resizing. When I try to change the size of the photo within the mask, the whole mask changes accordingly. I do not want the masked area to change, just the size of the photo so that it fits.

It's difficult (for me at least) to imagine what you are seeing. If you want, you could post some screenshots. I haven't tried this free GrabUp app, and it's not the only way to post screenshots, but it claims to be fast and easy to use:

My itunes library has everything by artist name, yet when i sync my ipod to it, some songs are only visible in the song menu but not the artist menu, how do i fix this problem so that evry song is visible under the artist menu in my ipod

I bought an ipod classic and got it 2day. I have over 18000 songs on my itunes and all the songs have all the correct info. I tried syncing my ipod today and all of the songs have gone onto my ipod.
However my problem is that quite a few songs are not in the artist menu and only in the songs menu on the ipod, even though evry bit of information for the song is correct.
I would like all my songs under the artist menu on my ipod as searching through the song menu is ridiculously time consuming.
Can anyone fix my problem?

For the missing Artists on your iPod, make sure their tracks in iTunes are not marked as "Part of a compilation" in iTunes. You can do this by highlighting the track, right->clicking on them and choosing "Get Info" from the shortcut menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Info tab and make sure there is NO tick mark next to this option in the lower right hand corner. Lastly, sync the updated changes to your iPod.
