Control Panel text tool options switched places
Hello there!
Prologue: I've been searching for a solution for this problem and couldn't find any. Perhaps I don't know how to search properly. The problem itself isn't catastrophic yet it is really annoying to me, as I like to work quickly and everything has to be on its place (OCD?).
Problem: Once I opened again my InDesign (CS6 v 8.0.2) and when using Text tool, I noticed its options has changed places and I don't manage to change it back. It is hard to describe the problem in words but I uploaded the image. Hopefully this helps to solve it:

It solved my problem! I kept trying to drag panels into their places, also checking preferences, workplace options and everything else.
I can now finally work in peace, without being confused all the time, thank you very much, Eugene.

No icons within Control Panel, Administrative Tools Folder
I believe this problems relates to a terminal services policy package as
the problem only exists on our Citrix Metafrme servers. Regardless of who
logs onto the console of any of our 6 Citrix W2K servers, within Control
Panel, Administrative tools, there are either 0 icons or 2 .NET framework
icons only. I can however access all icons in Administrative Tools by
going through Start, Programs, Administrative tools.
Can anyone assure me that this is a policy issue and where the settings
are as I'm ****ed if I can find them?

Making this entry from my Linux computer which handles the situation correctly.The real situation involves only a Toshiba laptop running Windows XP.

QT was opening the tiff files. When going into the QT control panel Browser>Mime settings>Images-Still image files I was able to uncheck tiff, which held. I was also able to uncheck all the file types under File Types tab(Images-Still image files) in the QT control panel. However the preference would not hold. Went into Start>Set Program Access and Defaults that also was of no help.
The only way I was able to get QT to release the tiff's from the website I posted was to go into the Folder Options control panel for File Types and change the tif & tiff from QT picture viewer to windows picture and fax viewer.
So not sure why the QT control panel will not respond, there are other file types in the Folder options control panel on this computer other than tiff's that are still associated to QT, but didn't try changing them, perhaps that needs to be done?

Icloud control panel not an option for me now what????
We are running and exchange server XP Pro and Outlook 2003 is all I have at work. I don't have access to Vista or Windows 7 nor outlook 2007 or 2010. All want to do is transfer my yahoo calendars to icloud calendars. From the searches I did I found I had to download the icloud control panel which I can't do becuase of hte software I am forced to run for work.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way (besides opening each yahoo event and switching it on the iphone to an icloud calendar) to transfer my yahoo calendar to an icloud calendar??carrie_dyer wrote:

There is not, Vista or Lion are the minimum requirements, use Yahoo's sync services instead. -
Mouse Control Panel Looses scroll options and multi-button options
Hello-
I just bought the new Magic Mouse. Once it is paired with my bluetooth the mouse works fine but the Mouse control panel looses the secondary button and scroll options. Mouse will not scroll normally or momentum scrolling. As well the Bluetooth control pane does not show mouse battery level reading, and there is no Mouse name. What's happening here??
G5 PowerMac with 10.5.8 and normal wired extended keyboard.

Issue with InDesign & Illustrator -- Control Panel and Tool Panel don't show
I just downloaded CS5 Creative Suite onto my shiny new MacBook. I'm formally a PC user and have used the CS suites for a long time, but haven't upgraded since CS3.
I open a file on the MacBook in Illustrator or InDesign and it shows the document window and the pasteboard. But it doesn't show the Control Panel or the Tool Panel.
Any ideas on how to get these items to show up?I ended up uninstalling the programs and reinstalling them, on the
recommendation of a friend. This has fixed the issue. -
Monitor Control Panel - only one option...
Hello people.
I'm using a generic 9.2.2 install on a FW drive, which boots and operates fine. I've used it on several machines, with several monitors.
I'm currently using this working installation on a Phillips 150S and the profile for it does not appear in the Monitor Control Panel.
So I'm stuck at 800x600 on a 15" display...
How do I get the Phillips profile back and run at 1024x768?

Your on the money, it's an old 450 Sawtooth running dual 500's and I dropped a Gforce 4MX 32 from an MDD 867DP into it.
Restoring the standard (and unbelievably powerful) ATI Rage 128 video card restored the maximum resolution of 1024x768.
Oh well, only so much one can do - thanks again for your prompt assistance. -

Is there a client UI update package needed?In App-V 4.x, the Client UI is not a separate installer, it is installed as part of the 'core' product.
So does that mean you don't have any App-V listed in your add/remove programs?

Computer crashing and nvidia control panel missing options
Hey, I bought 2x msi gtx 970 and put them in sli mode. They worked fine for a while but yesterday I started having problems. I was playing shadow of mordor and suddenly my screen went black and my computer restarted. It worked fine afterwards tho. Then today I played some LoL and after playing for like 15 minutes or so it happened again. But now also after the computer restarted my nvidia control panel was missing options. There were only setup g-sync, set up stereostopic 3d and view rating for games. I'm not sure if this happened yesterday too. I tried reinstalling the drivers (tho I'm not 100% sure I did a perfectly clean install) and the options came back but the crash happened again and the options disappeared also again. I have 850w corsair tx850 so I think that should be enough power? My mobo is asus P8Z77V-Deluxe and cpu intel i7 3770k @ 4.3ghz. So what is the problem?
EDIT: after I restarted my computer again the options in the control panel reappeared
EDIT2: I ran furmark with both sli on and sli off for about 50 minutes and oddly enough my computer didn't crash. Everything ran well. Here's some statistics from sli: GPU1: 1316MHz @ 99% load, temp 80 C, voltage 1.193V, GPU2: started at 1303MHz and then dropped to 1277MHz @ 97% load, temp 62 C, voltage 1.206V. Another weird thing is that the crashes in lol kept happening even after this and always around 15-20 mins to the game. I would say it's an issue with lol but it happened once with shadow of mordor too. I haven't played any other games. Also it's weird that this started happening only recently, not from the beginning. I do recall downloading some update to geforce experience recently, don't know if that matters.
Also I'd like to know that are those temperatures normal for air cooling in sli and/or are they too high?
EDIT3: Just noticed that everytime I try to run pci-express render test on gpu-z my computer crashes instantly and apparently trying to run furmark now also crashes the computerQuote from: Nichrome on 16-October-14, 00:56:09

Could you please be more accurate on your spec: >>Posting Guide<< RAM, frequencies, timings and so on.
Would be worth trying bit more powerful PSU. Not saying this one is insufficient, but it's always best to rule something out for 100% sure.
Remove OC from the CPU and RAM (RAM to be 1333MHz and CPU to run stock). Or try >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
Make sure that you're running latest BIOS for the motherboard <Contact ASUS about it>
Temps are completely fine for SLI on air. Top card always is much hotter than the other. However you could reapply thermal paste on both cards, run single card for 1h and record its temps, then do the same for the 2nd card (in single card mode so the other is out of the PC) and use the cooler one on top.
I feel so dumb right now. Seems like one power cord from the psu to my gpu wasn't properly attached and now that it's completely connected everything seems to work. I'll update this thread if that didn't fix the problem. But anyways thanks for your fast response -

What can I do?Until Apple decides to accept responsibility and fix this issue you will need to get rid of iCloud. It's too bad because before Apple decided to throw out the patch/malware, it actually worked kind of neat. So, this is what I've done to regain control over Outlook and iTunes; re-boot the pc, launch iCloud control panel and sign out, saving data to your computer when asked. Under add/remove programs, un-install iCloud, re-boot again. Go to windows control panel under folder option, second tab (view) select "show hidden files, folders & drives" and select ok. Now double click on your "C" drive and do a "Control F" (for find). In the search box type APSDaemon.exe and hit search. Right click on this file and hit Delete sending it to your recycle bin. You may want to cut this file out of your recycle bin and place it in a temp folder until you are sure everything is working properly. You should now be able to use Outlook and iTunes without them hanging. In Outlook, under contacts you will need to move your contacts from iCloud contacts back to your default contacts folder. Under iCloud contacts do a "Control A" and drag your contacts back to their default location.
Hope this helps, in the future I will be vary leery of installing anymore Apple patches.

If i open up my Control Panel and change the "Standards and Formats" to "English(United States), the "Short date" field is now showing "7/9/2010" which is "M/d/yy". This matches the format obtained using (SimpleDateFormat) SimpleDateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT). However, it still returns me the format "M/d/yy" after i made the following changes:
1. Click on the "Customize" button to open the "Customize Regional Options" dialog window.
2. Select the "Date" tab, from the "Short Date format" drop-down list, choose "MM/dd/yy"
How can I get the exact date format displayed at Regional Options now, which is "MM/dd/yy"? Please advice. -
Under tools, options the box for popups keeps becoming unchecked
I select tools, options and place a check mark in the popups section and select OK. This works for a short while. Then I start getting popups. I check back under tools, options and now there is no check mark in the popups option. Place check mark again and select OK. Then again the check mark turns off.

You may have an external application that is turning off that Firefox preference after a computer restart. If that happens only after Firefox is re-started, there might be a hidden preference added to Firefox via a user.js file. <br />

Text tool trouble (red Screen)
When I try to use the text tool, I get a red screen over the image I am working on. when you put text in, it looks to me like it has black dashes going around the edges of the text. What happened? I never had a problem with it before.
I'm fairly sure you have the "Type Mask Tool" selected.
The Type Mask Tool is housed with the Type Tool in the same tool box slot. If you right click the Type Tool, the flyout menu will open so you can view all four type tool options. Alternately, use either "Shift T" or "T" depending on how you have your preferences set up to rotate through text tool options. -

My PC has iCloud 3.1 installed. The control panel has 2 options: Bookmarks & Photos. Also, a link to iCloud.com to access Mail, Contact, Calendar, and reminders @ iCloud.com. I've had no success in syncing my pc from the iCloud.com
In researching on how to resolve this issue, I noticed reference screens shots show 3.1 with each option: Bookmarks, photos, contact, mail, calendar and reminders.
Why is my version different?
My objective is to have the contact file on my PC and have the sync working iCloud & PC.
