Controlling link box size in Acrobat

Can anyone tell me if there is a setting to control the size/shape of a hyperlink box when creating it? I was having difficulty so tried this on another user's computer with the same documents and was able to fix the size of the box freely (making it as narrow as necessary), but on my computer, it want to default to a minimum size (won't allow me to make it any narrower) that I can make larger by increments but can't completely control the way I want. I am sure there must be a setting someplace, but I can't seem to find anything that allows me to have full control of size.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Ha, that worked and has to be THE only thing I didn't try. Thanks so much for your help.

  • Displaying trim box size with Acrobat Reader

    I am looking for a way to have Acrobat Reader display Trim Box size. We have many Customer Service Reps and Sales people who receive PDFs from clients and cannot tell what the Trim Box size is except for asking me. I have Acrobat Pro and can easily find the information, but I am tired of being constantly asked. It does not make sense for all them to have Acrobat Pro.  Any help is appreciated.

    You need to Reader-enable the document, which allows Reader to do things it normally cannot. In Acrobat 9, you'd select: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
    In Acrobat 8 it's something different but very similar. Note that some people have reported problems when trying to use an enabled document in a different version of Reader than the version of Acrobat that was used to enable the document.

  • How to link Interactive fields in acrobat 9Pro

    Hi Im new in this and I would like to now how to link interactive fields in acrobat.
    lets say that I have 10 files (File1, File2, File3 etc......) and each file have the same  COMBO BOX that display 5 options (option 1. option 2, option 3, option 4 and option 5), all 10 files have the same combo box with the same options, but i want to DELETE option 3 from each file.
    So, how can I do it, beacuse right now I have to do it manually each file at the time, and in real I dont have 10 files I have 500.
    Please I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    I am not so sure yet but in the PLD properties window on general tab of SBO 2005A there is field name link to. its description is :
    Creates a link between several fields, to determine if the system collectively displays or hides them. If a field is blank or hidden, its linked fields are not printed either.
    To create the link, choose the Unique ID of the field to which you want to link the selected field.
    If the field Total Liable in the document is set to zero there is no need to print the Tax, Discount, and Total fields. It is possible to link these fields to the field Total Liable by selecting its unique ID in the field Link to, found in each one of their Properties windows. This will then hide the fields when Total Liable is zero.
    If a linked field is not yet calculated, the field is ignored.
    Another example:
    Steps for Version 2005A:
    Link every existing field in the Repetitive Area
           to itself (thisinlcudes hidden fields as well!)
    add the following fields to the Repetitive Area
    Field_1:
    General Tab
    untick visible
    Left = 0 / Width = 0 / Top = 0 / Height = 0
    Content/Variable Tab
    Variable No.: 157
    Field_2:
    General Tab
    untick visible
    Left = 0 / Width = 0 / Top = 0 / Height = 0
    Content Tab
    Source Type: Formula
    Field_1 ==' '
    Increasethe Height of the Repetitive Area to allow placing the following field vertically below the exisiting fields of the Repetitive Area - tick Height Adjustment for the Area!
    Field_3:
    General Tab
    Link to: Field_2
    Left = / Width = / Top = / Height =
    => place vertically below the top row in the Repetitive Area
    Format Tab
    Line Break: Divide into Rows
    tick Field Height Adjustment
    Content Tab
    Source Type: Database
    Table: AR Invoice - Rows
    Column: Text

    BTw, Do not you have the custom PLD pdf file ? You could download it in the documentaiton resource center or requesting it to SAP partner.

  • Reduce File Size in Acrobat Pro (9.5.5) Corrupts Graphics in PDF Documents - shows up as black image

    Whenever I use Reduce File Size in Acrobat Pro (9.5.5), sometimes some of the images (not all) get corrupted and show up as a black image in the new document.
    Actually, the new reduced document looks okay when viewed in Acrobat, but the problem shows up when viewed in the Preview application on the Mac.
    I'm using Acrobat 9.5.5 with Mac OS 10.8.6
    I've tried re-importing the graphic into a new graphic box, which didn't work.  Thinking there may be some type of corruption with the actual graphic file, I then tried viewing the graphic, then taking a screenshot of it to create a completely new file, and then re-importing the new graphic file into the original document (created in Adobe In Design 5.0.4).  I then export the new document as a pdf, and brought it into Acrobat Pro to do the Reduce File Size.  Same thing happens - black box appears where the graphic was.
    I then tried using the Reduce File Size within the Save As function of the Preview application on the Mac - while the graphic remains intact, many of the other graphics in the document are "reduced" too much, to the point where the image quality is seriously degraded, and therefore not usable.
    Any other ideas?

    Hi Anoop,
    I can share the graphic file, but not the pdf which contains it (as it contains confidential information) - thanks!

  • CONTROLLING THE VIEWING EXPERIENCE IN ACROBAT

    CONTROLLING THE VIEWING EXPERIENCE IN ACROBAT
    This is a major bug (going back to at lease Acrobat 5) and just one of many related to the “Document Properties > Initial View” setting, which seem to be a “special project” for the Adobe Acrobat tech-team. I say “special” in the sense that the goal appears to be … How can they address these issues in each successive version to actually make them LESS FUNCTIONAL and LESS INTUITIVE?
    Default = Sucks!
    I run a successful graphic design firm and have invested well over $1000,000 in various Adobe products. When we send our work to clients (via PDF) for review, EVERY aspect – window size, window placement, format and flow of pages, page layout, navigation options, page magnification, document page numbers, document titles and file names, etc., etc. etc. – are absolutely critical. The “default” settings for Acrobat address virtually none of these issues and Adobe seems not to care at all! 99.9% of all the Acrobat documents that I receive are completely unformatted and must be reset before they can be navigated or reviewed.
    Navigation Tab > Pages Panel and Page = Does Not Work!
    However, perhaps most critical is that the recipient realizes that the document contains multiple pages, vs. a single page. The failure of the “Navigation Tab > Pages Panel and Page” setting to function in any logical and consistent (read – where is the default setting for this?) manner has been and is a fatal flaw in Adobe Acrobat. We have dealt with this (“Where is the rest of the document?”) literally hundreds of times and while it is a big headache for our staff, what worries me more are the recipients that never even bother to ask.
    Thumbnail Size = Does Not Work!
    I too have found no way to set the default size of the thumbnails. To add insult to injury, after you do enlarge them manually (2-3 steps) and enlarge the Pages Panel pane to accommodate the slightly larger thumbnails, guess what happens? When you reopen the document, Acrobat reverts to the original (tiny) thumbnails, but retains the enlarged (now useless) Pages Panel pane, while equally reducing the actual content in the Page pane. This is massively stupid!
    Page Layout for Viewing and Printing = Does Not Work!
    Another pet peeve is the “Page Layout” settings. When we design a multi-page document and convert it to PDF for review, it is imperative that the “flow” of the document – i.e. single page cover, followed by two-page spreads – be replicated as closely as possible. And while this on-screen experience is important, of nearly equal importance is the ability of the recipient to print each individual page of our design, as an individual 8.5 x 11 page. Again, finding a way to accomplish this in a logical and consistent manner is virtually impossible.
    Printing = Why So Slow?
    Speaking of printing ... Why does it usually take “forever” to print (even small) PDF files on a laser printer?
    Controlling the Viewing Experience = Does Not Work!
    In short, we usually have no idea exactly what our clients are seeing because Adobe provides no default settings that can be set globally and “locked” so that one has a bit of control over the viewing presentation experienced by the recipient. On the other had, Adobe does provide a mindless blizzard of security options which probably serve about 1% of their customers.
    Sorry for the rant, but if anyone has any ideas, I love to hear them. Thank you very much!

    It's evident you're annoyed, but I don't agree at all with your claims. If you use Acrobat as intended, you can control the initial view settings however you want - but this is a document-specific feature and intentionally so. If people are sending you files with the "wrong" initial view, that's their problem not Adobe's.
    Navigation Tab > Pages Panel and Page = Does Not Work!
    Of course it does. The menu item or hotkey sets the view mode temporarily, and to make that mode the default for a particular file, you simply set the initial view (file menu / properties / initial view) and save it. Whatever you choose for the layout, zoom and panel displays will be shown to anyone opening the file in future.
    Thumbnail Size = Does Not Work!
    The thumbnails embedded into a PDF file are at a single size. Enlarging them via the context menu on the Navigation Panel is temporary, but the width of the Panel is retained for a session (it is not permanent).
    Page Layout for Viewing and Printing = Does Not Work!
    What do you mean by "does not work"? The screen layout has no relationship whatsoever to the printouts, so provided your files are genuine pages and not spreads, you can set your two-up views (with or without covers) as part of the document properties / initial view settings, but the PDF will print as a series of single pages as it should.
    Printing = Why So Slow?
    Printing a PDF file takes no longer than any other type of file with the same content (and hence the same data to transfer). If you are experiencing very slow printing then it's a problem with your system setup.
    Controlling the Viewing Experience = Does Not Work!
    See my response above about the document preferences / initial view tab.
    Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader have been developed over many years, based on very extensive user feedback and monitoring. The features we have today are there because they DO satisfy the vast majority of target users, and if they didn't, these forums would be deluged with complaints - there are after all hundreds of millions of users out there, so even if 1% were unhappy you'd be reading millions of posts a week.

  • Making a interactive PDF from indesign, but it's too big. Tried to reduce file size in Acrobat, but

    Making a interactive PDF from indesign, but it's too big. Tried to reduce file size in Acrobat, but it does not reduce file size.

    Use the Optimize PDF command in Acrobat, it gives you more control. I think it's under the Advanced menu in Acrobat 9 Pro and File > Save As > Optimized PDF in Acrobat X Pro.
    You might try playing around with different settings. You can also click the Audit Space button at the upper right to see if its from images or other things causing the file size problem.
    Unfortunately, InDesign doesn't write interactivity in a very optimized way. You get better results with buttons, for example, creating them in Acrobat Pro and using the Duplicate command to duplicate them across multiple pages.

    Changing the fonts in Print using ABAP is not possible. as basic report output is a text editor.
    By changing "Customizing of Local Layout" will only change in display screen and not in print.
    One possible way to create a new printer formatr thry SPAD and use that format in while printing.
    to know more details about SPAD
    Using SPAD - SAP Spool Administration to print different paper size
    The SAP spool system manages its own output devices. This includes mostly printers, but also fax and archiving devices. In order for you to use output devices defined in your operating system from the SAP System, you must define these devices in the SAP spool system.
    Print to a dot matrix printer using computer paper with 66 lines
    Define paper types
    Formatting process Z_60_135
    Page format DINA4
    Orientation tick both Portrait and Orientation
    Type in the comment and click save
    Device initialization
    Device type - OKI341
    Formatting process Z_60_135 then click Execute
    Double click Printer initilization
    You must key the 66 lines hexadecimals for your printer. ( line no 9)
    1 # oki341 x_paper
    2 # reset
    3 # \e\0x40
    4 # select codepage multilingual 850
    5 \e\0x52\0x1a
    6 # disable skip perforation mode
    7 \e\0x4f
    8 # select 6 lpi
    9 \e\0x32
    10 # select page length 66 lines (66=hex $42)
    11 \e\0x43\0x42
    12 # select 10 cpi font

  • How to solve the mail box size limit for thunderbird

    Hi,
    I tried to do archiving for my mails but everytime it will prompt me mail box size limit has reached and ask me to delete older mails and the problem is my HDD is more than enough to contain those archives so am asking if there's anything which i can get this solved for good?
    Regards.
    Andrew Koh

    Background info:
    Emails are downloaded and stored in the Inbox file written one after the other.; they are not stored as individual emails in their own file. So the Inbox folder in the FolderPane is actually a file.
    Any email you delete is marked as deleted and from your point of view it disappears from eg: Inbox and reappears in 'Deleted' folder. In reality it is still in the Inbox taking up space, marked as deleted and hidden from view. Compacting removes all traces of 'marked as deleted' emails and reduces the file size. If a file becomes corrupted and you compact that file you may lose good emails. this can occur if you do not compact on a regular basis.
    It is wise to create a backup on a regular basis.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup
    '''RE: Archiving'''
    Archiving is not a backup. It is a means of storing old emails in smaller files accessible within your Profile mail account. So releasing space in other folders.
    If you have been archiving all emails into just one Archives folder, then you are putting all of your emails into one file.
    Did you set up Archive Options?
    See info at these links:
    * https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/archived-messages
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Archiving_your_e-mail
    Did you choose to archive by month and retain folder structure?
    By using these options, if you archived last months Sent emails and say you had another folder called 'Family' and you did the same, they would be stored as follows into smaller files, so you should not reach a mailbox limit.
    There will be no emails stored in the actual 'Archives' folder, nor the '2014' or '2014-5' folders, they will be in the relevant folder name - see below
    eg:
    > Archives
    >->2014
    >->->2014-05
    >->->->Family (one month of emails here)
    >->->-> Sent (one month of emails here)
    Suggest you do the following and in this order:
    * create a backup
    * delete any emails not required
    * compact folders
    * set up Archive options and organise emails as shown above, so that emails are only in that months eg: Sent archive Folder.
    * Create another backup when everything is organised.

  • User control over font size?

    I wonder if there is a way the user can control the font size
    in the .chm file from the viewer. I know you can go to your
    internet browser and change the font size there, but this is a bit
    convoluted. Is there a control available in the chm viewer that I
    am missing?

    Hi Margaret
    Indeed you may add a Font button to the .CHM viewer.
    Unfortunately, RoboHelp doesn't expose a method to do it easily.
    You would have to do it by compiling using Microsoft HTML Help
    Workshop.
    Here is a link to a page explaining it.
    Click
    here and read all about it
    I'm not sure if CSS font sizes will override this or not.
    Additionally, you may wish to try pressing and holding the Alt key
    while rolling the mouse wheel (if you have one) as this sometimes
    changes the font.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How do I edit font size in acrobat 8?

    I am trying to make edits to the font and font size in acrobat 8. I have clicked on the text toolbar under advanced editing and selected my text. All of the forums I have read say to right click on that text and select "properties." When I right click, my acrobat does NOT give me the option for properties. The closest option is "text style" which does not give me any font or font size options - only bold, underline, etc. Can anyone assist me in where I ca find these options or why it is not giving me the "properties" option?

  • 30EA3 - Edit Table/Create Table(Advanced) - Table Name, Text Box Size

    I am not sure if its the same on non-Linux versions, but in the edit table dialog, the table name text box size is tiny. Its only wide enough that you can see approx 7 chars.
    Is it possible to increase this? The size of the text box in the simple create table dialog seems like a good size. As far as I can tell, it is not tiny to conserve space for other items.
    Anyway, it's just a minor issue that wont prevent me from doing work - just think it'd be better a bit bigger. I am sure it didn't used to be this small.
