Convergence 2 patch 1 on RHEL

I have comms suite installed on Linux. I'd like to get the Convergence 2 patch 1, but it seems I need a support contract. Yet, I can't find Oracle Communications Unified Suite in the store. What am I missing?

Oracle Communications Unified Communications Suite (the formal name) is part of Oracle's Communications Global Business Unit (CGBU). Convergence 2 patch 1 login_copyright

I have an open case in regards to Convergence 2 patch 1 customizations not working for me right now. While i'm waiting for that to be looked at, i'm wondering if the login_copyright message can be removed on the Convergence 2 login screen.
With Convergence 1 I had to make the change in resources.js. Do customizations in convergece 2 allow for this?

The example for modifying the welcome message is very similar to what you are after so I would extrapolate from that (rather than re-defining the "login_welcome_msg" string you would be more interested in "login_copyright").

Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c does not support RHEL 5.9 but did oracle have any plan to release patchs to support RHEL 5.9?

OPS Center 12C is successfully installed & configured on RHEL 5.9 but post installation while trying to configure controller (enterprise & proxy) using http url it redirect to secure port https but doent promts login screen page. Later i found RHEL 5.9 O.S doen't support Ops center 12c.
Did oracle have any bug / patches for this issue ? or any planned release for / against this vulnerabilities ?

On Enterprise Manager server [nsn175-105], we did the following:
1. we modified /etc/exports to include this line: /export *(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
we start nfs service by executing command “service nfs start”.
On Management Agent server (nsn175-89), we verified that we are able to mount /export directory of EM server.
On Management Agent server, we started firefox browser and were able to run successfully https://nsn175-105.us.oracle.com:4904/empbs/genwallet
After making this change, we ran agent deployment again. We encountered the same error as shown above.
“You can fix the software library or you can download the agent bits in offline mode.”
For fixing the software library, select Setup->Provision and Patching->Offline Patching, then select Offline Patching radio button, download: https://updates.oracle.com/download/em_catalog.zip. Next upload this zip file.
“Try downloading the bits again”
We are not sure what agent bits are. Would you please explain this and provide procedure how we can download this?
(Here I have attempted to fix the software library, but I am new to Enterprise Manager and not sure how to interpret this).

Customizing Convergence 2 (patch 1) - From address

I am looking for some help on customizing something specific in Convergence 2. It is not documented in the Convergence Customization Guide on the Oracle Wiki for CommSuite (http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Convergence+2+Customization+Guide).
I would like to be able to disable the "From" feature that becomes enabled in Options after creating a new message. This option only appears when there are multiple Identities (Local Account + any more). The new Identities get created each time an External Account is created.
I have found how to disable the ability to add an External Accounts entirely but this is a bit too extreme for what I want to accomplish.
Also this (http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Customization+Example+-DisablingIdentity+Settings+in+Convergence+2) just prevents users from editing the Identity values. But they still get created when an External Account is created.
I think what I am looking to change is contained in js/iwc/widget/mail/CreateMessage.js .. somewhere around this code

Convergence 1u3 (patch -14) not showing nested MIME boundaries

I have a few users who have reported that certain messages don't completely display in Convergence, while the entire message shows up just fine in Thunderbird. Upon taking a closer look at the problematic messages, it appears that they have nested MIME boundaries. Below is an example:

However in Convergence, only the part containing "XXXXXX Mailing List" is shown. Is this a problem with the letter or Convergence? Can Convergence display messages with nested MIME boundaries?

If you need this problem fixed I suggest raising a Sun/Oracle support request to get bug #6875426 escalated. A related issue which was also discussed in that thread is:

Possible Convergence patch for Chrome

I've been looking into why Chrome seems to choke on initally loading main.html after login, and I've developed a patch that seems to correct the issue. What's the best method of submitting this patch to the Convergence developers for possible review and inclusion into the product?

As Chrome is not an officially supported browser the fix has not been included in Convergence 1 patches however the fix is available with the upcoming Convergence 2 release.

Problems after convergence updating with 137632-09 patch

I have install communication suite 6 in my test machine on Solaris 10 OS. Output of imsimta version is as below:
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7.0-0.04 32bit (built Jun 20 2008)
libimta.so 7.0-0.04 32bit (built 01:01:00, Jun 20 2008)
Using /opt/sun/comms/messaging/config/imta.cnf
SunOS fe 5.10 Generic_120012-14 i86pc i386 i86pc
I have upgraded convergence with patch 137632-09 but I have much error as below:
1.     File Attachment icon not working while composing mail.
2.     Clicking on To, cc bcc; address book is not open, while pointer symbol change as hand shape.
3.     Clicking on Create Link icon while composing mail, it create link top of window instead of current location in compose windows.
4.     In spell check box- any button such as replace, replace all, ignore, ignore all, cancel etc. not working.
5.     Creating group is not working. Other button (all, create group, cancel etc) not working
6.     After importing address it does not overwrite existing entries
7.     In Address book Edit button not working
8.     To change password, while clicking on Save Preference it show popup box with error message : Invalid Request one or more parameter is missing
9.     In Global General option, convergence startup first time showing undefined parameter. After changing it with another parameter undefined become disappear.
10.     In mail General option while clicking on any select button it automatically redirected to home page.
11.     Clicking on mail filter option button like New Filter,etc it redirected to home page.
12.     Clicking on Subscribe to Folder option it show error message popup: WMAP protocol error, invalid compact WMAP response.
13.     If spell check is on it stop sending mail without checking spelling and any button are not working
Please suggest any stable convergence patches or help me in changing parameter if required as per above problem in messaging end.

Does this occur every time you test (for all users etc.)?
Did you try to use a new password that had any non-alphanumeric characters?

Convergence and Calendar Server 6.3

Good Morning,
We are in the process of looking at upgrading to Convergence 2.0. We are still running Calendar Server 6.3. From looking at the wiki page: https://wikis.oracle.com/display/CommSuite/Convergence+Patches+by+Release
It appears that I can install Convergence 2 Patch 2 and still be compatible with Calendar Server 6.3. Is that correct?
We need to get upgraded so that we have the support for newer versions of IE and to get our customization done before looking to upgrade to Calendar Server 7.

Adding or removing any functionalities in oracle convergence 2

If i want to add any new functionaliy or want to remove any existing functionality than in which folder/files i have to make changes under iwc_static folder.
Suppose i want to add any new functionality under mail section, what all steps need to follow and on which all files.
All this thing is it possible in convergence 2.

Patch for chrome 36 - video

I just installed the patch for chrome 36 ,, but videos on my project still do not work....

Sun Convergence - correct version of GF

Hi,
I'm looking for release document where I can find infromaction which version of GF is the best for Sun Convergence.
I have Sun Convergence with patch 10.01_182930 and GF v2.1 Patch05 (9.1_02 Patch11). I wonder if I can install the latest patch of GF with my Convergence ... and which GF should be correct to the latest Convergence (patch 11).

I am in the process of patching all Client-only 11.2.0.4 with Patch 19877440 and am receiving the following messages:

The way I read the patch readme for the JavaVM was that is was a required patch for both Database and client-only installs but this makes it sound like I don't need it on the clients. Is that correct? OPatch did successfully install the patch on this RHEL x86-64 environment but was it really needed?

Sun Convergence - allow access with spaces as password

Hi,
We've discovered that Sun Convergence log in as any user when we write space sign without any other signs in password field. It's lok like ldap search (or bind) command fails if only spaces are in password field.
We use:
- Convergence with patch 12 and 10.
- Directory Server 5.2 (not recomennded, but on compatibile list)
We read some threards about similar problem with LDAP auth, but ... thera are not Sun Products. I suspect that problem are in LDAP (implementation Convergence requests).
We have temporary workaround, but ... it very bad. Any people have acces to any known user.
I woonder if some other have similar problem

R12.1 upgrade from 11.5.10CU2 with 11g

I have some doubts about R12.1 upgrade process.
1. If i have 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.8 as database then can i upgrade to R12.1 using RapidWiz and during database upgrade screen, directly upgrade from 9.2.0.8 to 11.1.0.6 or 11.1.0.7 database?
2. If i have 11.5.10.2 with 11.1.0.7 as database then can i upgrade to R12.1 using RapidWiz or i have to do patchinf for it. Means to say that can i use RapidWiz for R12.1 upgrade from 11.5.10.2 with 11.1.0.7?
3. What will be the best practice to reduce downtimwe for R12.1 upgrade ?

As pre-upgrade patching for 11.5.10.2 to R12.1 upgrade, i applied a patch 4582937 which is for PRE CONVERGENCE MIGRATION PATCH. There are some steps which are need to be performed after applying this patch. Below are the steps.
1) Perform the data mapping for org and warehouse migration through the UI available in OPM System Administration.
2) Run $GMA_TOP/patch/115/sql/GMAORGMG.sql as APPS user.
3) Review any errors generated in the Org Migration for the context "ORGANIZATION" and rerun GMAORGMG.sql after fixing the errors.
4) Run $GMA_TOP/patch/115/sql/GMAITSTP.sql as APPS user.
5) Review any errors generated in the Org Migration for the context "PRE_ITEM_MIG_SETUP" and rerun GMAITSTP.sql after fixing the errors.
6) Run $GMI_TOP/patch/115/sql/gmiitmin.sql as APPS user 7) Review any errors generated in the Org Migration for the context "ITEMS" and rerun gmiitmin.sql after fixing the errors.
I am not able to understand the first point (Perform the data mapping for org and warehouse migration through the UI available in OPM System Administration).
I logged into application and under OPM System Administration i didn't find anything related to mapping. Can you just tell me how to perform these steps (Specially the first one because in others we need to run scripts only).
