Conversion to 2010 version process

HI all,
I have noticed some wierd artifacts on my images after I convert them to 2010 process. They are similar in appearance to the artifacts introduced to the canon files at the introduction of LR 2. I must say that they are quite ramdom, some images don't seem to generate them, but most do. I usually see them on the sky and blurred background. I do like the sharpening of the 2010 version better, but do not like the artifacts. I can minimize them playing with all the sharpening sliders, but by then the file looks just as sharp as the 2003 version, so what's the point?
I must admit I have not imported any new digital files since I am shooting film again, and the artifacts don't seem to affect the film scanned files, and have not made any prints out of the new version, so don't know if they'll be visible in prints. Still don't like them though.
Here are some samples. Look for the atifacts at the sky and the background.n Just uploaded the images, not sure if they are large enough for you to see.

Hi Rob,
I don't know what u mean by sharpen-masking, sorry, not a computer geek, I'm from the film days (I'm not too old though!!! :-))
Lee,
I see your point and found interesting, but I find hard to believe a file would look like that out of the "can". And if that's the case, why no one else complained about it before lightroom came along OR after they updated their process version. I believe lots of people have plenty of photos on which they applied no NR whatsoever because it simply wasn't needed. And as I mentioned, I find it happens pretty randomly, since some photos look ok. There's nothing different about the way I processed one image over the other.
I have to take more photos just to see if it happens to the new images. Those files I posted were from an old canon 30D which I no longer have. My wife has a 40D and I see if it happens to the 40D files as well. I searched this forum and the web and didn't see anyone complaining about it, so I can only assume two things: 1- Nobody has that problem or, 2- everyone is ok with it.
Thank you guys for your replies,
Leo

  • Office Plug-in : support for MS Office 2010 version

We tried to use the Office Plug-in that is available with OBIEE version 10.1.3.3.2 for MS Office 2010 version.
It does not work and throws an error message that indicates Office 2003 or Office 2007 are the versions that are supported.
    Questions:
    1. Is there a patch available for this plug-in that will work with Office 2010 version?
    2. Does OBIEE 11.1.1.3 (Current release) support Office 2010 through the plug in? If not any insight into when Office 2010 is supported by the OBIEE Office Plug-in
Also, I heard that Office Plug-in and Smart View are going to be merged into a single product in the future releases... any thoughts on this as well.
    Thanks

We raised a support log few weeks back on this. The answer Support gave:
At the moment, Office 2010 is not certified against the current release of OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 and OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0
Oracle is planning on Supporting MS Office 2010 on with BI 10.1.3.4.2 and 11.1.1.4.0. No official eta's for the releases at this stage.

  • How to print an excel file (2010 version) with multiple tabs into a pdf file with bookmarks (acrobat 9). I was able to do this easily using excel (2007 version).

Recently I got a new laptop, with excel 2010 version and acrobat 9 standard.
I could no longer print (save as) an excel file with multiple tabs into a pdf file with bookmarks.
My old computer has excel 2007 version and acrobat 9 standard.
Print an excel file into pdf with bookmarks was a piece of cake.
Both machine has the same add-in -- Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM addin
Thanks if anyone could help me with this.

You need to upgrade Acrobat to a newer version.

I have been working with Labwindows CVI 2009 with no problem but after upgrading to 2010 version I have the following problem:
When i´m going to execute the unistaller, either from Windows Control Panel or directly from the uninst.exe icon, it doesn´t work. The PC thinks a few seconds and does nothing, and it happens with all the applications I build with Labwindows CVi 2010.

    Hello -
Are you installing these distributions on a non-English operating system?  If so, the first thing to try would be the workaround listed on this known issue.
The known issue only lists Italian OSs as the troublesome OS, but it could actually happen on many different non-English OSs. I will update the text accordingly the next time I update the known issues list.

Has anyone been able to create a report to show office 2010 version 14.0.4567.00? Currently I see only 14.0
Is there a report to show if office products are activated?

I'm not sure you'd be able to file that sort of report, unless you can extract a registry value in a report? Activation is done by the KMS Client under Windows and if you have a KMS server hosting that activation, you can export the hostnames of the workstations that have registered, which time, and in which "state" they are in. If you're using MAK or another non-KMS variant, I don't know of a way.
As for the version, look through the KB lists until you see the KB or patch that matches the version you're looking for and see if that will populate the report?

The optical drive has probably failed. It's a fairly common thing with these slim SuperDrives. Does it read any discs you put into it? You can try resetting the SMC and pram but I'll be surprised if it helps.
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on
    Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Hi I can't get my 2010 version of PSE to work on my Mac, which just got a new hard drive. running OS X 10.9.3

Does anyone know how to reboot this or re-download? It doesn't seem obvious ...

What do you mean by "2010" version? Which version of PSE is this? And did you try to move it back to the new drive via Migration Assistant or something like that?

    Help if you can.

    Hello RBrown
I am really sorry for this inconvenience!  This is a known issue.
Can you please attempt the following for me:
When you are building an application, under Advanced please check the last box "Use LabVIEW 8.x file layout"
If that doesn't work, you may need to rebuild the LLB in a separate directory with new names, and use it as the build inclusion.

  • 2GB MBA (2010 version) Out of memory after upgrading to Mavericks

I'm using a 2GB MBA (2010 version). After upgrading to Mavericks, I have very little ram left (<50MB). I can't run anything. Even the Internet is breaking up. Safari won't load anything. I get to some webpages using Chrome if I'm lucky... is it normal?

Do a backup. Then try running the combo update.

  • Why doesnt installing the latest or even the Mar 2010 version of Machine Vison over LV 2010 SP1 not show up Imaqdx USB options

I have LV 2010 SP1 developers package running on Windows XP. I wanted to add IMaQ to it and bought that option also just a few days ago. I tried installing both the 2010 version of IMaQ, IMaqdx (Machine Vision March 2010) as well as the latest version of IMaQ from the DVD (I understand from the compatibility charts, this is not an issue). Whatever I do, I dont see IMaqdx USB communication icons in the Vison and Motion functions. I tried using example programs as well as the existing camera controls in the NI-IMaqdx but there is a communication error. On the other hand, when I open an evaluation version of machine vision 2012, I can see this USB camera and communicate with it. I tried downloading the USB_graphics file listed and extracting it with the /x option which also didnt work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to communicate with this USB camera ? I can try using a firewire camera but I wanted the option of several cameras hooked up to this computer. Thanks.

    Hi there,
So to investigate this issue, we usually want to check if the camera works in Measurement & Automation Explorer first. This is the software that confirms that hardware is working with NI's drivers. You can open it by going to Start >> Program Files >> National Instruments >> Measurement & Automation Explorer.
Then, expand My System >> Devices & Interfaces >> NI-IMAQdx Devices, and then you should see your USB camera. Confirm that you can "Snap" and "Grab" here.
The other thing I can think of is that the March 2010 version of Machine Vision came out a year before LabVIEW 2010 SP1. Do you know what the CD has on it?

  • Order New 2011 Airs or 2010 Version

I am looking at buying a 11" Macbook Air for my wife and 13" Macbook Air for myself.  MacMall is doing great deals on the 2010 version.  So I'm wondering if I should save money and buy the 2010 versions or order the new versions with 256 gb hard drives and the i7 processors.  How does Lion perform on the 2010 versions?  If I bought the older versions, they would both have 4gb of ram.  My wife will be using hers for iPhoto, Safari, e-mail, movies etc.  I'll be using mine mainly for writing and also Logos.  I have another laptop, a PC laptop I use for work (fully loaded HP DV6 with i7 etc.).
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm kinda torn on this one.  I have the 2010 Air.  I actually bought it after the 2011 came out and places still had 2010 stock.  At the time, I was concerned with the possibility of the intigrated GPU in the 2011 model being underpowered (vs. the dedicated GPU in the 2010 Air).  I was also seeing quite a bit of comments regarding heat with the 2011 Airs (my 2010 runs quite cool).  I'm not really sure if that was due to the GPU/CPU integration on the 2011 model, or some other cause... but there just wasn't enough info at the time to make me comfortable with the 2011 model.  I have installed Lion on my Air without any issues (whether or not I like Lion is another story... but it does run on the 2010 model without a problem).
Having said all that...  I have considered from time to time upgrading to the 2011 model.  Now that it's been out for a while, most people seem to be fairly happy.  I did notice a lot more comments here in the support forums for the 2011 models though.  We used to see maybe 10 or 15 comments a day (which is practically nothing).  With the introduction of the 2011 model, we're seeing about as many comments as we do for the MB Pros.  I'm not sure if that's indicative of there actually being more problems or if sales have skyrocketed.  I know many of those posts are also more related to Lion than the Air itself.
If you were talking about making the decision between the two and paying the same price, I'd definately go with the 2011 model.  You get the backlit keyboard, more powerful CPU, and the (as of yet underutilized) Thunderbolt port.  However, if you're getting a great deal on a 2010 model, for your wife's usage (as you've indicated it to be), the 2010 will be fine.  As I had indicated, it runs Lion just fine, but you'll also have the option to keep it with Snow Leopard if you wish which would be a major benefit for many.  Snow Leopard is not an option for the 2011 model.

  • Freetalk webcam works on Panasonic 2010 version (V...

According to Panasonic support website, the freetalk camera is released also with older Panasonic 2010 version (VT20)
while according to skype shop it works only with the Panasonic 2011 version (VT30)
    Who is right ?

The skype shop is promoting the sale of the Panasonic Blu ray player (BDT110) and Freetalb webcam as compatable components with eachother to be used with Skype, however the video does not trasmit from the webcam (i.e. only audio) so video calls are not possible. I recommend that Skype contact its Freetalk partner to troubleshoot these issues (i.e. webcam compatability with Panasonic tvs and blu ray players) because the claims made on the Skype Shop pertaining to the functionallity are not entirely accurate.
