Convert pdf to .Doc

I have pdf files I wish to convert to  documents so that I can manipulate the files please

Acrobat XI does have an export to .doc option but not every PDF is going to come out exactly as it appears nor will the editing be perfect in Word either. You may get lucky if the file is pretty simple but you should expect to do some cleaning up of the file once it's saved as a Word file.

Need to Convert PDF to doc in Russian, why programm do not recognice it?

    Hi alsu22,
The OCR system that converts documents does not recognize any cyrillic languages, such as Russian.  If the text is already renderable (selectable), you may want to try converting your document without the OCR function enabled. You can find steps here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3062

  • Err msg converting pdf to doc/docx

"An error occured while trying to access the service" whilst trying several times to convert .pdf into .doc & .docx ((have also had to type this in twice because I did not have a "screen name" - I have one now))
Maybe I am being dim, but I thought this was a request to a "help desk" or similar - seems to have gone out as a "discussion" - at the risk of coming across as grumpy, I don't want a discussion - I am trying to run a business - I need help, preferably asap from Adobe...

Sorry, I missed one of your points. Yes, this absolutely is a discussion, a forum or whatever. You'll hear from fellow users, not Adobe staff.

Do you know how the PDF was created? If not, please open it in Reader, and choose File > Properties. If it was created by a third-party application, it may be written poorly.

  • Converting .pdf to .doc

I converted a letter of recommendation from .pdf to .doc and for some reason it distorted the signature at the bottom so it just looks like a bunch of symbols. Does anyone know how to convert the file without losing the author's hand written signature? Thank you.

How did you convert: using Acrobat, or the ExportPDF online service?

  • Converting .pdf and .doc files into .txt file

Can anyone here please tell me (a humble programmer) if there's anything in Java to help me accomplish the above, i.e. to strip the markup of these files.
Or perhaps someone might know if there are programs already out there that can?
Any pointers or advice would be great, thanks

PDF: iText (www.lowagie.org or .com) and FOP (at apache.org, or maybe jakarta.apache.org) are the de facto standards for writing PDF in Java, but I don't think either of them will help you with reading it. You might check out etymon. I think that reads PDF. Or you could google for java pdf reader
Doc: Check out POI, again at either jakarta or apache.

I don't think this is a Adobe program, or is it?  What's the name of the program?

  • I can only convert PDF to .doc if I use sign in on "Welcome to exportPDF" email

I have had a two hour session with a lady in India (Case # 186222233). She took control of my computer and changed many things, looking for the problem. No luck! When I click on Sign In, it either gives me a pop-up telling me to buy exportPDF or a pop-up for signing in. If I sign in, it gives me the pop-up to buy exportPDF! Thonly way that it works is by signing in through the "Welcome to exportPDF" email.

    Sara,
I cleared out all of the extraneous garbage by running “Registry Mechanic and tried to convert a couple of files to .doc.
On the first attempt, a “Sign In” pop-up appeared, without my email address. I filled in email address and password. When I clicked on”Convert”, I got the pop-up to purchase “ConvertPDF”. The second attempt produced a sign in pop-up with my email address. Same result.
On the next attempt, I tried converting through “Adobe Reader”. Same results. I tried while designating Internet Explorer my default browser and by making Google Chrome my default browser. Same results. At least, I now get a sign in pop-up before I get the “Buy” pop-up.
The only way I can sign in and convert a file is by utilizing the “Welcome to Adobe exportPDF” email. The reason that I purchased exportPDF was that I found that I could not copy or print a PDF form file, which I recently received. I could save it, but, even then, I could not copy or print it! I don’t get that many PDF files, so I am not sure during which version of Adobe Reader this problem started. The dark thought occurred to me that Adobe Reader might have been changed so that PDF files could no longer be copied or printed, unless exportPDF was purchased! (Now that I am 84, I have become a bit cynical!) If anyone ever figures out a cure for this problem, please let me know. In the meantime, I’ll use the email route for conversions.
    Thank you,
    Al Cinquepalma

  • Converting PDFs to Docs

How do I convert a PDF to a Doc & make it look exactly the same?

    Good day,
    As we outline here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1513
Adobe ExportPDF is capable of exporting high quality information, but the quality of your Word or Excel document depends on the quality of the PDF file you start with. For instance, if your PDF file was originally authored in Microsoft Word or Excel and converted to PDF using the PDFMaker functionality of Adobe Acrobat®, your PDF file contains a rich set of information that can be captured by Adobe ExportPDF. This includes relative positioning of tables, images, and even multi-column text, as well as page, paragraph, and font attributes.
If your PDF file was originally authored using simpler PDF generation methods, such as “print to PDF” or “scan to PDF” options, Adobe ExportPDF will convert any recognizable text and then use sophisticated conversion intelligence to preserve as much of the page layout as possible.
All that's to say, how closely the Word output exactly matches the PDF document you started with is dependent on the quality of the original conversion.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Can't convert PDF to .doc or .docx

I just purchased ability to convert files to Word.  One PDF worked (1 page).  I am trying to convert another PDF to word and it is saying conversion failure.  I have tried using Send to Word and Adobe Document Cloud.  Any advice?

    Hi everybody,
The issue you're encountering may be because the PDF file you're trying to convert was created by a third-party application, and may not be written to spec. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.
However, you may have some luck by trying these basic steps:
Clear the browser cache and try again.
If you're using ExportPDF via Reader, sign out and then sign back in (or try converting via the web interface instead).
Try converting a different file--if it converts without error, that would point to a problem with the file that causes the error.
Disable OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community (this step isn't optimal if the PDF started out as a scanned document and doesn't already have editable text).

  • I have Adobe Acrobat Professional  issue converting pdf to .doc

    can I not convert w/AAP?

If you choose to have both Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro installed, you can, but you need to take responsibility for running the right one for the job. It's pretty advanced to need both.
Just start Acrobat Pro and use File > Open. Then you can use all of the features of Acrobat Pro, like Save as Word Document.

  • Convert rtf, pdf or doc file to xml or html

I'm using RichTextEditor from Flex, but I need to
upload a .doc, .pdf or .rtf file into RichTextEditor. Or maybe a
way to convert these files to xml or html.... please can you help
    me??

Flex has no inherent functionality to do doc conversions. You
are also looking for the ability to convert several different file
types that might require seperate conversion methods. Also, it is
important to note that Flex does not have very good HTMl
functionality. In fact, it has a very limited subsed of HTML tags
that are allowable and also require some distinct formatting
requirements. So, if you are trying to convert PDF's and Docs, RTF
etc, you might have a difficult time trying to get them to diosplay
    in the Flex RTE.
I have struggled with trying to get a good PDF converter for
multiple file types. Adobe does have some good server side
utilities, but budget might be an issue.
You can find several PDF converters that are server based
that you migth be able to leverage.
If you are CF user, Scorpio does have a better integration
with PDF and LiveCycle services that may help when it is released.
    Good Luck.
