Converter for MTS File?

Is any converter for convert MTS file to quick time?
do anyone know it?
Thx...

MTS format is a high-definition MPEG, AVC, H.264 transport stream video file format which commonly used by HD camcorders such as Sony, Canon, Panasonic.MTS files are used primarily with Sony hardware. Camcorders make use of MTS in the form of AVCHD, a recording format made specifically for camcorders. Some camcorder models from Canon also use MTS files. These files are also present on Blu-ray disc compilations, therefore they are capable of storing quite a large amount of information and data tracks.
Since mts is not a mac suitable video format, so it's necessary to convert it with mts converter for mac, you can choose the output video format as quicktime mp4.
Hope you resolve your problem asap!

  • Using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 for MTS files

Hey everyone, I did some searching on this topic to no avail so here I am.
Anyway, I recently got an HD camcorder that records in 1080i AVCHD.
I have no problems getting the MTS files off of my camera but as I'm sure you can imagine, working with those files is a whole other issue.
I've found that Adobe Media Encoder CS4 works great in encoding these files to QuickTime format (.mov) but the problem is that the resulting file size is actually bigger than the original MTS file which is unacceptable, especially considering I'm encoding the files from 1920x1080 down to 1280x720.
Does anyone have any experience using AME CS4 to convert MTS files to a more workable 720p format for uploading to YouTube?
I've tried a number of different custom settings to no avail (where you see an "or" is where I've tried different options):
    Format: QuickTime
    Video Codec: MPEG4-Video or H.264
    Quality: 100
    Width: 1280
    Height: 720
    Frame Rate: 29.97 or 23.976
Field Type: Lower First or Upper First or Progressive
    Aspect: Square Pixels (1.0)
I won't list the audio options because I don't think that has any bearing on my problem.
Any ideas as to why the encoded file sizes are actually larger than the MTS file sizes?  Maybe AME CS4 is not what I should be using for this task?
    Thanks for your help,
    Tom

    I figured it out.
If you select H.264 as the format you can then select YouTube Widescreen HD for the preset.
This will set everything up to convert your MTS file to 720p and reduce the file size by around 30% with little quality degradation in my experience so far.
The only problem I encountered was the video was kind of choppy when the camera panned but that was remedied by upping the frame rate from 24 to 29.97.
Hope this helps someone and if anyone has any suggestions to improve efficiency or reduce file size post it in here.

  • Which is the better converter for mts and mpg files?

Ok, I just have a quick question regarding conversion software. Does anyone know which is better...PAVTUBE or CLIPWRAP2? Besides the cost...pavtube is cheaper. Which one is faster and offers the best quality? OR is there even a better one out there? I have mts files and mpg files I'd like to convert for use in FCP 6.

  • How can I convert an .mts file to mp3?

I would like to export just an audio clip (2 minutes) to an mp3 file. I have deleted the video in the timeline but it still leaves a 91Mb file - far too big of course to usefully use. I have found the Zamzar site who will convert but of course the file is still too unwieldy. Is there a way please?
I am using Prem El 9.
    Most grateful.

    Hi MissMoppett,
    Thanks for posting Adobe forums.
You can also try to use a 3rd party software Format factory to convert .mts file .mp3.

  • Premiere Pro CC and missing audio tracks for .mts files

    Hello guys,
I used to edit my .mts files with Premiere Pro CC without any issues until yesterday.
Now I import my .mts file (made with a Sony VG900) but Premiere doesn't recognize the audio tracks (that I can hear just fine with VLC).
I tried changing the extension in .m2ts but it didn't work, I also tried reinstalling Premiere but, again, it didn't work and I tried (I was desperate) to install Premiere CS6 just to check if maybe the problem was just about the CC version. Guess what? It didn't work...
I tried also converting the file with Encoder in .mp4 but after the conversion I can't hear the audio with VLC and, of course, it doesn't work on Premiere.
Do you think it's a Premiere issue or a file problem?
I used those same files for other videos (like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1X5vsZ-5yI) and I had no problems. Then I updated Premiere, I moved the files in other folder and the problem came to life.
    Any idea?
(I'm waiting for my colleague to send me a new mts file just to check if I accidentally damanged the old ones).

    A similar problem here..... although......
Take a look at this screenshot
As you will see, the blue marked audio is repeated audio of less than on sec. Certainly not the way it has been recorded.
I think I've got the answer........ (working with Premiere Pro CC, always up to date, Mac OX 10.9.2; Camera: Sony HXR NX3)
    1. Don't copy but clone your flash card to the location where to edit on your hard drive. At the same time: alt+click on external flash card, draw it onto your hard drive location.
(or use carbon copy cloner, which I use for backup and transferring avchd files).
    2. Don't import regularly via the import dialogue box (cmd-i). Instead: use the mediabrowser browser, locate the map "private" (as often standard named),
    3. Via cmd-a (select all): select all videofiles.
    4. click right mouse button and select import.
This way, all the video and audio files will be imported.
If however you have alreade re-used your camera flash card for recordings and don't have access to the 'corrupted' files to be imported into your project, you won't be able to solve the problem. You just lost some of the essential data which were not copied onto your Mac.
This solution I found for my problem may well be the one you are looking for........
Another solution might be to convert the compressed avchd - before importing into your project - into uncompressed .mov filed. However...... you will lose data so this is not exactly what I would prefer if the former described workflow does fix the problem for you.
Please let me know if this works for you or not.
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Peter

  • No audio for MTS files in PE9

I'm running Premiere Element 9 (registered version) on Windows 7 X64.
I have some exsiting MTS files on the hard drive (they are from Canon HF20 camcorder).
If I play those MTS files in Windows Media, everything was fine.  I got video and audio.
But when I create a project and put those files in the project, I got video only.  There's no audio.
For troubleshooting purpose, I install Premiere Pro (CS5) and VideoStudio (from Corel).  Both of them worked fine with audio.  So it looks like the problem is specific to Premiere Element only.
I've gone through the thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/731032?tstart=0.  But couldn't fix the problem.
    Any hints would be appreciated!
    Michael

Thank you very much for the info.
I removed the Media Cache and Media Cache File folders.  Didn't seem to make any difference.  Also, there's no audio if I try to play it in Organizer.
I have a question regaring "import".  What exactly does that mean?
Since all my MTS files are on hard drive already, what I did was:
    1) Open a new project in PE9.
    2) In the "Organize" tab, click "Get Media"
    3) Choose "Get Videos/Photos/Audio from: Files and Folders".
    4) In the pop-up window, navigate to my folder and choose the existing MTS file.
    Was that called "import"?
    Thank you again!
    Michael

  • DNG converter for RAW files

I have been using Dng converter to convert RAW files from an unsupported camera (Olympus sp350) for importing into iphoto. Unfortunately the latest version of iphoto (9.2) does not seem to be compatible with the latest Adobe dng converter (6.3.0.79). Any suggestions?

The first thing to point out is that the release candidate will not recognize the new small raw format. You'll have to shoot the full-sized raw images. The other thing to be aware of is that, in the DNG converter, when being prompted for the location of your raw images, it is asking for the FOLDER. Choose the folder, but don't open it. Then the DNG converter will convert the raw files contained within that folder.
If you want to shoot TIF, you would probably have better image data to work with than you would with JPEG images. But it still wouldn't be as flexible, and you wouldn't have as many options as you would shooting raw. Try the DNG converter with my suggestions and see if it works for you.

  • Speedgrade support for .MTS files

    Hello,
I'm excited about CS6. I shoot a Panasonic GH-2 that records H.264 in .MTS. This is hacked and shoots at around 150mb/s.  Does Speedgrade read .MTS? I'd rather not transcode.  Premiere runs fine with the MTS files.
Also, when you send out from Premiere to Speedgrade, will Premiere reflect the look/grading changes? I guess I shoyld ask this in a different topic.
    Thanks
    Max

Adobe has announced las April that they will update their Creative Suite once a year somewhere between April and July (Q2). I think is a save assuption that SpeedGrade will get an upgrade by then. Consider that the programmers had less then half a year to deliver SG CS6... (Iridas was aquired in September 2011, and CS6 was launched in April 2012. And I know the testing and delevery of software takes about 3 months,  you can do the math).
I am expecting a lot form the next version as the programmers had a full year to work on integration, codecs, support for various workflows etc.
So, prime time, if you want to call it that, should probably be somewhere in April at the earliest.

  • Good converter for MXF files?

Could I please get some recommendations on easy to use converters for the MXF files that the Canon XF300 makes.  Some members of our production team are using Premiere Elements and they won't go into that software.  I'd like something that can batch convert if possible.  When I google search I get plenty of options, but I'd prefer some actual recomendations on what you guys use.  This will be for non-advanced users, so "easy to use" is key here.

Canon adopts MPEG-2 for the XF series Professional Camcorder as the Canon XF Codec to ensure their videos have the widest compatibility with existing industry infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE) systems. And with the MXF file wrapper, video and audio can be wrapped in a single file along with important metadata.
But if you are the user of Canon XF series( Canon XF100/XF105/XF300/XF305 or Canon C300) or Panasonic P2 series, you will encounter the problem while importing the MXF files to Adobe Premiere Pro 6.0 or its earlier versions of CS4, CS5, CS5.5, or even Premiere Elements, you may see the error "ERROR COMPILING MOVIE: UNKNOWN"coming up when exporting a movie composed of MXF clips, whether it's to AVI, H.264, etc., this error comes up, in particular when the movie is "long", i.e. a half minute to a minute. Otherwise, with short clips there is no problem.
It's enough to make you want to pull your hair out. The Internet is full of discussions on this issue, but we don't know why Adobe can't fix it? The bottom line, however, is that once you convert your MXF files to H.264 MOV using Brorsoft MXF Converter, there are absolutely no problems regardless of file lengt...which in our case is perhaps a four minute movie.

  • Premiere CS 6 workflow for MTS files

Dear All, I am just shifting to Premiere from FCP 7 so I'm a real beginner.
I am importing avchd files from a camcorder's hd. The camcorder generates all sorts of folders. Is it sufficient to save the "STREAM" folder in order to have all the necessary meta data or do I need any of the other folders/files?
More important question: The camcorder names the MTS files with numbers (see below). When I delete the videos from the camcorder's HD and start filming with an empty hard drive, the camcorder will assign identical names to the new video files. This means that I will import clips with identical names into Premiere. Will Premiere be able to differentiate between the files with same names? What is the best way to keep an order within my project (window).
All suggestions are welcome. Many greetings Schorsch

your not gaining the full value from the color in your video.  You loose White Balance and other qualities from your vector scope from using raw files instead of transcoding them.
[comment removed by moderator] Start here, then you'll probably understand why [not].
Always and i mean ALWAYS transcode your footage off the chip.
Never, and I mean NEVER, transcode your source footages for the sake of transcoding. Transcoding may help if your machine is underpowered or you're going to do a compositing work and, hence, more power is required to decode several highly compressed footages on the fly.
Do your self a favor, take a raw .mts file and a pro res 422 file side by side in scope and look at the difference.
Do yourself a favour, transcode a source footage into any 4:4:4 production codec, import both footages into After Effects, set project to 32-bit and linearise working space for higher precision while blending. Drop source and transcoded footages into the same composition and set Blending Mode to Difference. If there are some super-whites in the source footage, they will be clipped, and you'l see some artefacts there. If not, you'll see an almost pure black solid, which means there is no mathematical difference in pixels values.
With 4:2:2 transcoding you'll see more artefacts, which means you get less precise data in your intermediate.
Is it sufficient to save the "STREAM" folder in order to have all the necessary meta data or do I need any of the other folders/files?
No, metadata are not contained in the STREAM folder. Copying the STREAM folder only may be sufficient for editing short AVCHD clips, but for spanned AVCHD clips you have to copy the entire folders structure on your HDD.
Will Premiere be able to differentiate between the files with same names? What is the best way to keep an order within my project (window)?
You need to properly organise files on your HDD as well as imported clips inside PrPro project. You can create e.g. CAMERA_1_SCENE_01, CAMERA_1_SCENE_02 folders on your HDD and respective bins in PrPro project.

  • Lossless converting of mts file?

I just bought Canon LEGRIA HF G25 and this camera stores videos in mts format. I open mts files in Premiere Pro CC but when I try to play it in the preview as it does not look good.
Therefore I am wondering if there is an easy way to convert mts files to MP4 format without quality loss?

No point in converting them to mp4. Still heavily compressed.
    PPCC can edit mts natively.
Did you set playback to full?
    What are your comp. specs?

  • AME-o Audio recognized for .mts files

    Really drives me crazy.
I am sure there is audio with this .mts file. But AME cann't recognize it. No issues for video clips in other format.
My AME version 6.0.0.382 (64-bit). And the source file here. Pls help
    http://youtu.be/6RXcFHpNWUU

I am having a similar problem: trying to ingest Sony HXR-NX5E .mts- files, and cannot get the audio. Plays with VLC-player. Log file shows the error message:
Dolby Audio Decode Licensing Restriction for /Volumes/NO NAME/PRIVATE/AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM/00034.MTS
This installation does not have a license to decode Dolby Digital audio.
    Updated to latest versions yesterday.
Trying to avoid the problem by setting the audio to PCM in camera, but I would be pleased to see issue fixed.

  • What is the best HD output format for .MTS files?

    Hi guys,
I'm in trouble with .MTS files taken from a Sony videocam.
Everything works and I get my final movie in mpeg2 (or H.264) Blu-ray and the final BDisk looks pretty.
But a friend of mine has edited some of these clips with Sony Vegas and his video is more definited than mine.
I tried in many ways to change some output settings like "same as source HD" or changing bitrates, GOP, VBR (single or double) in HD 1080i setting (yes, the clips are interlaced)........... but my final results are everytime less definited than Sony does with just a (bloody) default setting.
Any idea to improve the output quality of these files?
    Thanks in advance
    Giorgio

    Hi Bill,
    nice to hear you.
Unfortunately these tips have not given me an help.
    My way of doing is:
Check the input files (format, interlaced or progressive, bitrate, framerate, fields, pixel, extension name etc.....) with MediaInfo.
Open the proper Premiere project (in this case AVCHD 1080i square pixel)
Edit and output using Mpeg2 Blu-ray  or H.264 Blu-ray using the best settings I can..
In this case I've tried ALSO to output a movie as much as possible similar to the input format, looking at the GOP also (premiere gives as default  M3 N15, but the source is M2 N13): no way indeed!!!!
My fear is that Pr doesn't hold .MTS files properly as Vegas does.
Strange: Vegas is a Sony product as the videocam I've taken the files from.
I hope I'm doing something wrong but I'm afraid I had to edit this files with Vegas.
    Tell me I'm wrong, please
    Giorgio
