Converting illustrators files to Photoshop for DW

I am trying to change an illustrator file to photoshop so that I can use the file in dreamweaver.  I am also trying to size the file to fit into a header container for Dreamweaver.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what you need to know. You simply open them and rasterize, then Save for Web or open in DW directly. if you know the size of the header and the AI artwork was drawn to scale, none of that should pose any bigger problem. Mmh...

  • How can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac?

how can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac? i have a client that specificly needs the files to be avi and in 24bit what are the settings that i need to use to export the video using photoshop on a mac?

    Hello,
To make a 24-bit AVI file in Photoshop, go to File>Export>Render Video. Then, under File Options, choose AVI from the Quicktime Export drop-down menu. Click the Settings button. Click the Settings button in the AVI Settings window. Change Compression to None, and then choose "Millions of Colors" from the Depth drop-down under Compression.
The Millions of Colors option is for 24-bit video (8-bit R+G+B channels, 8x3=24). Millions of Colors+ is for 32-bit video (24-bit video plus an 8-bit alpha channel).

  • Convert mod files to mov for imovie

A helpful person on the forum suggested I use mod converter to convert mod files to mov for imovie. I have purchased the program from the internet but am having trouble getting them to respond with registration number so as I can get started. Has anyone had this problem or do you know the telephone number for emisoft which is who I purchased it from.

wuppet, it is unfortunate that this method did not work for you... I have tested this method my self with iMovie 08 & 09 with JVC .mod files.
I can really only suggest a few things:
    1. Make sure that you are changing the .mod extension to .mpg, as I am sure that you did.
    2. Attempt to get the originals from the camera, if they're still on the camera. I know that you say that they're the wrong format but iMovie 08 and 08 both support the .mod files found in JVC hybrid cameras. But make sure that iMovie is opened and running before you attach the camera to the Mac. Also make sure that the camera is set to "playback on PC" once you plug it in.
    3. You can download the free VLC app, this will allow you to view the movies to verify that they're not corrupt somehow. You'll be required to change the extension to .mpg or .mpeg for this app to read the movies.

  • Fine lines all over the picture after converting PDF file to Photoshop CC.

I converted a PDF-file (PDF/X-1a) into a Photoshop file using Photoshop CC and got fine lines over the picture.
Using Photoshop CS5, those lines will not appear.
    Why?

A little mor information. There are no tiles visible in the PDF file from InDesign CC. They appear after converting to Photoshop CC. The PDF file was a PDF/X-1a:2001. Now I wrote a PDF/X-4:2008 in Indesign CC and there are nor mor tiles but horizontal lines already in the PDF. Converted to Photoshop CC, this lines are still visible:
but they are vanished, if I use Photoshop CS5 for converting:

  • Can't drag and drop a file into Photoshop for some reason?

I don't know what made it stop but at this point it's beginning to bug me to no end. I can no longer simply drag a file into Photoshop. I now have to go to "file --> open" in order to get anything into. Is there anything I can do to restore the ability to drag and drop?
Just to let you know I reset the preferences already and that did nothing. The other thing is I'm running Windows 7, however I've never had an issue with PS on it. Lastly I'm using CS4.
Thanks for any and all help.

You should be able to drag an image file from Windows Explorer into the work area if PS is open and maximised.
At least it works that way with Vista  64. It won't work dragging it on to the task bar button or the PS icon.

  • How to convert JPEG Files into Streams for Darwin Streaming Server?

    Hi!
Is there any possibility to convert JPEG Files locatet in a Folder into a Videostream for the Darwin Streaming Server, like Quicktime Broadcaster does with my iSight Video??? I know I can convert JPEGs into Movies using QuickTime Pro, but that is not exactly what I am seraching for: I have a folder, where some kind of Webcam writes about 5 JPEG pictures per second. Now I would like to have these pictures in converted into a videostream in realtime. QuickTime Broadcaster would be the weapon of choice if it would accept JPEG Files as input...
Is there any posibility to solve this problem??

    Hello Karthik,
I just tried to solve my problem with your suggestions, unfortunately, my JSP channel still doesn't work :(
The portal server keeps reporting "Server Error..." when I tried to add query at the end of the href.
Do you still have any other suggestions?
    Thank you

  • Converting video files to mp4 for nano 3rd gen

I'm trying to find a quick, easy, hassle free way of converting video files such as mpg and avi to mp4 so that i can watch them on my new ipod nano.
Anyone got any suggestions and ideas?

    Ricktoronto and others,
Thanks for all the advice! I do have MPEG Streamclip and I'd thought about it, but have not really used it all that much. I didn't spend a whole lot of time looking at it but just did now and see that you convert to Quicktime and in there, you select Apple MPEG-4 and do all your adjustments. Now my version says that it will convert to H264. Does that function not work right?
The bottom line though is I ended up returning the Video iPod. The biggest drawback is the fact that it does not have Firewire as all I have are Macs with USB 1.1. I could upgrade my Blue & White G3 and put a USB 2.0 card in it but that machine would be REAL slow to convert video. And my iMac of course, can't be upgraded. If I had USB 2.0 or the iPod had Firewire, I would have kept it....
Still, I'll mess with the conversion programs and see what works best. I'll figure out how to do everything and then once I'm up to speed, maybe consider getting one.

  • Converting RM files (Real Video) for use in iMovie

    Hello,
I'm looking for a program that can help me convert RM (real video) files for use with iMovie.
I have heard that ffmpegX is great to use. I went to their website, downloaded everything and got it up and running...but when I try to convert anything, it doesn't work. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong?
    Any advice? Thanks.

    Yes
I found a program but am experiencing lots of trouble with it. I was hoping that others could give me a better suggestion.
I've actually downloaded and installed ffmpeg but the problem I'm experiencing now is that the videos do not convert. The program starts to work and then three seconds later I get the dialog box that says everything has been converted but the file created is 0KB and of course will not open.
Any ideas about what could be going wrong? I've attempted to convert the files to different formats and try converting different files as well. I still have the problem.

  • Converting InDesign File to PDF for Web

    Hi,
I designed an ad that is to be used for web view only in InDesign (CS3 on PC). The file restrictions I have been given require that it is 72dpi and a PDF file. When I convert to PDF(smallest file size,no spot colors, compressed), I end up with a file that is 4MB. I'm assuming a file that is 72dpi and 6.25"x9.25" shouldn't be that big. When I look at the "Audit Space Usage" window, 90% is under "Contents Stream" (I don't know what this means).
I'm new to creating files for web viewing so I'm not sure how to go about accomplishing this without losing image quality. I've tried "reducing file size" and the "PDF Optimizer" in Acrobat. I always get the message "The PDF document contained image masks that were not downsampled." when I attempt this.
What do I need to do to create a PDF file with these specifications that will retain some of the image quality (won't look pixelated and be read-able)? I don't mind recreating the ad in Illustrator, or Photoshop if I can guarantee that I can end up where I need to be.
I would really appreciate any tips on this!!

You mention pictures. If the file is mostly pictures, then the first step is to reduce the picture content, possibly by using 256 colors rather than millions and such. Check the properties of the settings file for the conversion (I don't have current versions available to check right now - you also did not mention your Acrobat version). It is probably best to down sample in a graphics program such as Illustrator or Photoshop (depending on the image being vector or bitmap) and then include them in the original. It is always a good idea to work on a copy and leave the original in place. Trying to do the reduction in Acrobat is not the best approach.

  • Is it possible to convert inDesign files to jpeg (for web) without fonts breaking up?

We want to include some of our layouts as case studies on our website. The idea is that a preview image will, on rollover, produce a larger version of the image/layout as part of a case study - full size image dimensions from, say, 400px x 300px. However, using the export command (CS3) produces poor quality text even at 'Maximum' at 300ppi - to say nothing of the unacceptable file size! Site to be constructed in Flash. Any ideas?? Thanks. Alex

My apologies if I sounded harsh. I didn't mean to be.
I just wish the world would recognize that there is no such thing as "screen resolution" or "web resolution" in the sense that 72 ppi is an "appropriate" number. When you "save for the web" in Photoshop you are doing any number of things, including downsampling to reduce the number of pixels in the image, and adding compression to make the files smaller still so they will load faster, both of which can make your image useless for print purposes.
That the default might be to save at 72 ppi is irrelevant -- it's just a convenient number. If you open your freshly saved image in Photoshop and go to the Image Size dialog, uncheck "resample image" and change the resolution, you'll see that the file size and pixel counts remain unchanged (along with the screen dispaly in Photoshop), because the image data is unchanged. All you have done is say "If you choose to print this image at 100% size, it should be x units wide and y units tall, and should have (whatever the the value you used) pixels per unit." You can freely scale this, if you wish, knowing the "effective" resolution varies in reverse proportion to the scaling factor.
If you put this image on the web, it will have whatever pixels were saved, regardless of how large or small (in print) those pixels would be rendered.

  • I need help with Compressor 4 settings to convert .mp4 files to .m4v for iBooks Author

I'm a curriculum design guy with no video background. I have Compressor 4, but don't really know much about how to best use it.  I'd appreciate some help with getting the right setting for my project. Screen shots of settings would be much appreciated, since I don't know much video terminology.
I'm making an free iBook for students on WWII propaganda using old videos from the Internet archive.
I'd plan to use Compressor to:
    1. Convert the .mp4 files to a .m4v that iBooks Author will accept. (I know I can use QT for that, but it increases file size)
    2. Use Compressor to reduce file size so my iBook doesn't get too big
    3. Get videos that look & sound the best, given the poor quality of the original source videos.
Here's some sample videos that I'll use:

    http://archive.org/download/AvengeDe1942/AvengeDe1942_edit.mp4
PS - I will also be editing some of the original videos in iMovie - if I use different settings to prep those videos for iBook Author, let me know.
Much thanks in advance for any help

  • How to convert .MOD files into .DV for iMovie import

I am urgently (and desperately) trying to import some .MOD files into iMovie 09 for editing. They were made on a JVC cam, but I only have them on HDD now. I tried renaming files to .avi, but still cannot import them. I used Handbrake to convert to mp4 files and can import them now, but quality seems to be reduced even though destination file size is similar.
Can anyone tell me how to convert the .MOD files to .DV files easily? I have read about the ffmpeg tool that you can use in the Terminal, but am not confident to do this as have never used Terminal !
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.
    MikeC

I have a JVC everio 30 GB hard drive video camera and I'm trying to convert the videos as well. Mine are also in mod format and my computer won't convert it either. Should I upgrade to quicktime pro 7 for $30 or just pay $20 for the mpeg-2 add-on? This is for a family camera that is used mainly for occasional family vacations/get together's. No editing, I just want to get these off the camera's hard drive because the hard drive is running out of space and I wanna be able to make them into DVDs so we have a hard copy in case anything happens to my laptop. I'm not sure which is better for my use? The add-on is cheaper but is there other advantages for me to get pro?
    Thanks for the help

I am new to this so I am not sure what the file size is since I'm not resizing it.
The question asked about exported image size (height and width) in pixels, not file size. Your operating system can tell you, or if you import the exported image into Lightroom, then Lightroom can tell you in the Metadata Panel, set the dropdown to EXIF.
I am printing a 5x7. I know I have tried to print with long edge set at 1024 and set to 300 ppi and had the same result with the grainy ness.
If the exported file has a long edge of 1024, then you did resize the image, there no other way to turn a RAW in to a JPG with long edge 1024. In any event, 1024 pixels is probably not large enough to fill 7 inches, that's really 1024/7=146 pixels per inch (rounded-off), and could be the cause of the "graininess" that you see, although I would use the word "pixelization" to describe what you see. So I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing, but let's go with it for now.
The solution depends on your answer to the original question, and probably depends on a clarification of how you got the image to 1024 on the long edge even though you claim you didn't resize it.

  • How do I convert Spreadsheet file to Waveform for off-line analysis?

    Using v6.1
I have multiple column data in an xls file obtained from third party DDE write. Each column contains data pertaining to one process variable. Does not include timestamp, however, data sampled at specific frequency of 10hz. I wish to convert the column data to waveform and perform Spectrum and cross correlation analysis to determine source of process variations.
How do I read the spreadsheet file and produce waveforms for analysis using the built-in analysis tools?
    Thanks!

Save the XLS file as a CSV (Comma Seperated Values) file. Then read the CSV file into LabVIEW using "Read From Spreadsheet File.vi" -- make sure to set the "delimiter" input to a comma (","). Index out columns of data using the "Index Array" function, and then build a Waveform and set the dt. Attached is an example.

  • Mixing CSS colors and image files from Photoshop for web

    Hello,
I recently encountered a web production color issue and wanted to collaborate with other web producers to either inform or to see if there isn't a better work-around....
A web site design has a particular color palette and some elements are converted to HTML/CSS colors (rgb hex values) and other elements must be saved as images--both with the same exact color appearance. We graphics professionals know that generally all images should have the color profile indicated (embedded, tagged) in the image file (e.g., sRGB, Adobe RGB or whatever) in our color-managed workflow so that the color numbers have meaning. For web, I've always used sRGB (the web standard) and tagged the images with the sRGB color profile.
Historically, this probably hasn't mattered because no web browser cared about the image profiles anyway. However, recently, some browsers have started to implement color-management. This is good for pictures and such, but poses a problem for web graphic elements: the images are rendered in the color-managed sRGB, yet the CSS is still rendered outside of color-management (the so-called monitor or "device" profile?). Therefore, if a web page design's color palette is to be honored, the HTML/CSS hex colors must appear the same as the matching hex colors embedded in the images. However, modern browsers now render the colors in the color-profile-tagged/embedded images differently, so the colors on the rendered pages no longer match!
My work around has been to NOT tag (embed) the web-element image files with any color profile and thus cause the modern browsers to do what they used to: render the images without a color profile just like they render HTML/CSS hex colors. Perhaps in the future, there will be an HTML specification to inform the web browser to render all colors (HTML/CSS/images) in a particular color profile. (In my cursory testing, I've found that current Safari and Chrome for Windows 7 do alter the tagged-image appearances, yet Safari in iOS does not.)
Have other web producers run in to this issue and are there more eloquent work-arounds?
