Converting MS Office Suite products to PDF - not retaining color

I am using MS Office suite (2003) specifically MS Word & Visio.  When I convert to PDF (using Professional 8) it is changing my color documents to black and white.  I have tried all different settings and have marked the selection to retain color scheme.  Nothing seems to work.  I checked my settings against another colleague and they are the same, but for some reason my version will not convert in color.  Please HELP..

It's happening the same way on several different computers here.
Everyone logs in with their own userid on each machine. We are all working with the same MS WORD documents. These documents are non-standard sizes -- 6 x 9, or 5.5 x 8.5.
Everyone uses the same version of Acrobat Professional, and selects "Convert to PDF from file".
For some people, the PDF is created from the Word doc, and the original page size is retained. This is what we want.
However, for others, the PDF is created as 8.5 x 11, no matter what the original size of the document was. No amount of fiddling with the default page size, in either Acrobat or Word, changes this.
It is driving me crazy, and I was hoping that at least one other person on the planet has come across this problem. Is this an Adobe or a Microsoft problem? Could it be a Windows registry setting?
Advice is appreciated!

One possibility is to print the slides+notes, choosing "save as PDF" in the print dialog instead of sending it to a printer.

  • PC Suite Prob - Sent Msgs Not Retained

I am trying to send a message from my PC Suite connected to my 6300 cellphone via USB cable.
If I type the message on my PC, the message is sent, but it's not retained in the Sent Items folder of the PC Suite nor the cellphone unit.  The message is confirmed received by the recipient (I tested sending a message to myself & the Inboxes of both PC Suite & my cellphone unit display it).
If I type the message on my cellphone unit, the message IS RETAINED on the Sent Items folder of the cellphone unit & it appears later as well on the Sent Items folder of the PC Suite.
Has anyone experienced this before, and how do I fix it?
I have already tried running the PC Suite Cleaner & reinstalling PC Suite 7.1.40.1.  I have also brought my cellphone unit to the local service center, and they claimed to have "reformatted" it.  But the problem remains.
Environment:   PC Suite 7.1.40.1, Windows XP SP3, Connection via USB cable, Cellphone unit Nokia 6300 (bought May 2009).

    Yes, this is really incredible....
I have joined Nokia Discussions Forum just to find the solution to this malfunction, but it looks like we (users/consumers) are doomed to it, comparing to all you can find on other topics.
    Imagine this:
    ... Nokia 6300 cell phone
    ... Pc Suite 7.1.40.1
    ... Nokia Communication Center
Everything is there for convenient and comprehensive SMS/MMS sending... really great interface.
You enter everything and press SEND....   and....
N O T H I N G! Message got sent, but for you personal data base, this message never existed!!!  **bleep**!?
What a shame for Nokia. But I really have faith in PC Suit department to solve this extremely annoying bug. Come on! Make it useable! Release a new version, patch, hot fix, or something, anything! Does anyone responsible read these comments at all?
I have heard some rumors newer phones can handle this "saving sent" issue. Does anyone have a list of those phones?
Once again –WHAT AN ANNOYING MALFUNCTION!!!

  • How do I convert an excel file to a pdf, NOT a pdf to excel

Until this year, I've been running OSX 10.5 Leopard. When I wanted to convert a Microsoft for Mac Excel worksheet to a pdf file, I simply clicked File/Print/PDF (in the lower left corner of the dialogue box)/then, Save as pdf. No problem, perfect pdf file. Upon upgrading to Mavericks this year, the resulting pdf file is filled with a checkerboard pattern that effectively renders the file useless if read onscreen. How can I get rid of the checkerboard?

One of my users with Acrobat 8 Standard is having issues with color pdfs. The pdfs are drawings and when I open them, I see all the colors of what the original was. • Background not retaining color

I am adding white Text on a blue background as an intro to the video. The background is in fact blue in the Canvas - and remains blue when moving the Playhead - but when played it switches to black. I am not using LiveType. Any idea what can be done to correct this?
    Thanks.

The background from the View menu is simply for display purposes. If you want a blue background use the Generators color matte to make a blue background and place it on the layer underneath the text.

  • Suite product activation not working with Acrobat

I'm a Creative Cloud subscriber and use a number of the applications without problem. But everytime I try to open a PDF with Acrobat, I get a message saying that my suite product activatio is not complete, and that I need to open another application, such as Photoshop, to complete the activation. I've tried opening a number of the applications, but the error message doesn't go away. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks!

  • Acrobat XI Standard will not convert any office documents to PDFs.

I have previously been able to convert Publisher and Excel files into PDFs using Adobe...but today it will not even recognize those files and will not convert them.  why not?  Is this really the only way I can get tech support for this product?

How are you trying to do the conversion. It sounds like you are trying to open them in Acrobat. It may be that your OFFICE did an update and PDF Maker is not working within those products. PDF Maker has to be active and working for you to open those files in Acrobat. You could also open the product and print to the Adobe PDF printer. If that works, then try the Acrobat menu from within the product. That menu is the PDF Maker product and has to work for what you are trying to do.
Also, check your updates to be sure you are current with Acrobat.

Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.
If that doesn't work, consider asking in the Microsoft Office: Mac forums here:

PowerPoint is not an Apple product and it seems a lot of people around here avoid Office.

  • Convert Multiple Outlook Emails to Multiple PDF Files (Not Portfolio or Single PDF) for Archiving?

Hi all, I am learning how to convert emails to PDF files and there is some great functionality there!!  I have not discovered how to convert multiple outlook emails into multiple PDF files (one PDF file for each email) - all at the same time (not one at a time)!!  Is there a way to do this using Acrobat X??  The purpose of this is for long-term business archiving.  When I search for an email in the archive, I do not want to pull up a portfolio containing 1000 emails or a 1000 page PDF file with multiple emails run together!!!  I want to pull up individual emails containing my search terms.  I have been searching for a way to archive emails and MS OUTLOOK .PST files are NOT the answer.  I get a lot of business emails with large attachments and I do not file my emails in separate sub-folders (by client or job).  I want to convert multiple emails (by date range) from my UNIVERSAL INBOX into multiple PDF files for long term storage (with each email being converted into its own, separate PDF file and named with the same name as the "Re: line" of the email).  This has been a HUGE problem for me....and Acrobat is sooooo close to the solution for me.  Can anyone help??  If so, will attachments be converted?  If not, is there a separate software program or add-in that I can buy that will do this??  I use MS Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Windows 7 64 BIT.  Thanks for your help!!

I am a retired person and did'nt realize I already have a Adobe account, so you can scrap the entire information. Thanks for the trial anyway and have a great week.

  • Cannot convert Office 2013 documents to PDF

We are using Acrobat XI standard edition on a couple of identical Samsung PCs running Windows 8 (64-bit). On one of these PCs, we are unable to create PDFs from any Office documents. When using the "Combine" tool, we can drag&drop documents to the Create PDF window. The previews of the documents appear as expected, but this error shows up below:
Acrobat does not support the conversion of one or more of your files to PDF. Please remove these files from the list.
Office file formats are also not listed in the "Convert to PDF" section of Acrobat's Preferences window, but "Convert to PDF" is provided as an option when right-clicking on a .DOCX, .XLSX, etc. So far, we've tried running the repair from inside Acrobat, re-installing Acrobat, and of course updating to the latest version 11.0.4. What else can we do?

I had the same problem. What I did to fix it as follows,
    1. Open Control panel
    2. Clicked "Program"
    3. then select "Programs and Features"
    4. from the list of programs I right clicked "Microsoft Office Professional 2010" (since this is my MS Office version)
    5. then clicked "Change" and select the "Repair"
After the repair I rebooted the system and everything went well.
I hope this works for you too.

  • Converting multiple msft office docs to one pdf-Mac

HELF - i am using adobe acrobat 9 pro for macs (Mac OS X 10.6.3). when we had a pc, we were able to convert multiple files (microsoft office) to a single pdf at once without first converting them all to pdf. when I attempt this using the same technique, the images for all documents other than pdf files are greyed out and it seems that word/office documents are not a supported format for the conversion of multiple files (not listed in drop down menu) into one pdf.
I would greatly appreciate help with this. we are business users who are new to macs. we need to do a lot of this and are getting so frustrated. Thanks in advance!

You'll want to ask in the Mac forum (this is for Windows) but, I do believe that those options are not available in the Mac version. Windows only.

  • Is it true that MS Office Suite will not run on Lion?

is it true that MS Office Suite will not run on Lion?

Office 2004 was written for PowerPC.  To run Office 2004 on an Intel based Mac, you need Rosetta to translate PowerPC instructions to Intel instructions.  OS X Lion no longer includes or supports Rosetta.  As such, any application written for PowerPC no longer work on Lion, including Office 2004.
Office 2008 and Office 2011 were written for Intel.  They'll work just fine on OS X Lion.
To address your problem, you can do one of the following:
    1) Reinstall OS X Snow Leopard from a backup, if you made one.
    2) Upgrade to Office 2011.
    3) You could use a suite of productivity apps that can import Office documents, such as OpenOffice, or Apple's iWorks. There will be some incompatibilities between these applications and Office though.

  • Office 2013 Click to Run - VAMT error: product SKU is not found

We failed to install the retail key for Office 2013 Home and Business Retail through VAMT. Error is: The Software Licensing Service reported that the product SKU is not found.
VAMT key install and activation worked fine with other retail products. I believe it's somehow related to the click-to-run technology.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
I'm not quite sure how exactly you did in VAMT, but usually, the error message will show up only if you are using a wrong product key.
Do you have any other product keys installed in VAMT? Make sure you are using the correct key. Also, which activation option are you using in VAMT?
