Converting several pictures into one big picture.

Hi guys, I'm new here..
for the last hour I've been browsing the forums trying to find an answer to my question but unfortunately, I couldn't find any satisfying answer.. maybe it's because this whole forum system is pretty new to me, or maybe because I'm not that good at English so I'm not looking for the right key words..
anyway.. I'm using Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 for quit a while and I got one thing I can't sort out..
here we go..
let's say I have about 100 pictures, all of which are at the same resolution and pretty much same quality.. I want to make all these 100 pictures into 1 picture which will have all these pictures one under the other.. or maybe two pictures every row (two pictures under two pictures)..
I hope I explained myself good, cause that's the best I can do..
thanks a lot guys, hope you will be able to help me.

I'll start you out with something that is my interpretation of what you want. If I'm wrong, at least we'll have a starting point as you tell me why it won't do what you want. :)
Since you say you're using PSE 4.0, make sure your View is set to either Tile or Cascade, and get the Layer Palette open.
Create a new blank document (File>New>Blank File). In the set up box, select the size you want and set it to the same resolution as that of the pictures you want to put on it. Depending on what your goal is, you can choose it to have a transparent background, white background, or you can choose a color. Leave the new blank file open on your desktop.
Now open a couple of the image files you want to move. (DO NOT put them in that silly Photo Bin - have them open on your desktop!) Assuming you want the entire picture moved, do a Control>A or Select>All and get the marching ants around the entire image. Now do either a Copy/Paste to the new blank document or (my favorite), choose the Move Tool and simply drag and drop the selected image to the new canvas. You'll see that the new picture goes on the new document in a separate layer, and you can also use the Move Tool to shove it around and get it where you want it. Now you can close the image that's been moved and go on to the next. Repeat until you have all the images moved.
So... How far off am I?!

  • Convert several videos into one

    I have several video clips that I would like to link together so they would show as one movie or iDVD
    I have iDVD version 6.0.4
    Is this possible?? If so will you explain the process?

    Mistake to have posted in iDVD '08
    My version of iMovie is 6.0.3
    iPhoto version 6.06
    iDVD 6.0.4
    These are placed individually in my applications folder.
    I could not find an iLife package, just the individual applications.
    My video clips are in MPG format.
    Should I upgrade to the latest version of iLife?? Does one have to subscribe annually? I hate to have to do this as this is a one time thing.
    I will appreciate any help you can offer.
    Thank you so much.

    How do I combine two or more pictures into one?

    I found out how to do what I wanted and I'm giving my steps in hopes that it might help someone else.  I wanted to put several photos from a file onto a new blank image.  This is what I did.
    1.  Create a blank page.    File/New/ Blank File.   Put in the size.  I used 8x10.
    2.  Bring the photo  you want to use into Elements as you always do. It will list along the top next to the blank sheet.
    3.  Choose SELECT (top of screen)/ Select All.
    4.  Choose Edit/Copy   or Command "C"
    5.  Click on the Blank File.   Chose Edit/Paste  or Command "V"
    6.  Click on Image/ Transform or Command "T".  There should be a dotted line around your pasted image.  You can then move and adjust the image to how you want it.  When finished, press the check-mark on lower right of photo.
    7.   Repeat this with all the photos you want on the new blank file.
    8.  You will see on lower right of Elements,  the background layer and as many layers as you have photos.  These layers need to be permanently placed on the background layer. Go to Layers and press Merge Visible.  This will merge all layers to the background.
    9.  Save as and you are done.

  • IPhoto placed 7000 pictures into one event

    After recently upgrading to Mavericks and the iphoto upgrade... iphoto merged about 7000 of my 12000 pictures into one event unders the Library/Photos... It's only those 7000 that have been merged and the rest are still as I had put them... Any help on resolving this would be great.

    Restore from your back up or select this Event and goEvents Menu -> Autosplit Selected Event

    You messaged me that the contact sheet look is what want but w/o spaces.
    One method is to actually start with the PSE contact sheet tool.  I assume your version has it (mine is PSE 2). Maybe your version has an option to remove spaces; mine doesn't. In this example I created a sheet of  4 rows and 3 columns, with the option to not flatten the layers. Each picture appears on a separate layer.
    On each row I moved the left and right pics inward to remove the spaces between the pics:
    Activate the Move tool. Click on the left pic and use the arrow keys to move it inward. Same with the right pic.
    Now to remove the spaces between the rows. To make this easier. lock together the pics on each row. Here I locked the pics on the top row, then used the arrow keys to move the row as a unit downward.  An alternative method would be to merge the 3 pics on each row and move that merged layer.  Do the same for the remaining rows.
    This method works of course if the pictures are all the same size and all aligned vertical or horizontal.
    If you don't want to use the contact sheet tool (e.g., if the pics are different sizes or alignment) you can do this:
    Create a blank canvas.
    Open a picture, select it (Select > All) and copy to the clipboard (Edit > Copy).
    Activate the blank canvas and Edit > Paste. The picture will be placed on its own layer.
    Do the same with the remaining pics and use the Move tool with mouse and/or arrow keys to position them where you want.
    The advantage of the first method is that the rows and columns are precisely aligned.  Using the mouse to align the pictures could be a little tricky.

  • How Do I Combine Several Images Into One Image Which Contains Links To A Series Of Web Sites?

    How do I combine several images into one such that the combined image contains a series of web links? In particular, I’d like to create such an image and put it into my Outlook email signature. At present, as per the image below, I have at least six separate images in my email signature with each image containing a web link. Is Photoshop the best tool for this job? Or would it be easier to do this in some other package? I have three packages at my disposal: Photoshop, Ilustrator and Dreamweaver. Can someone please explain in detail how I would do this? Or perhaps someone could direct me to a link that explains how to do this. Thank you.

    Thank you for that correction, Hobotor. I admit I hadn't thought about an image map, in the context of someone who doesn't seem to know HTML very well...  My thinking was running along the use of the Photoshop Slice Tool to get most of the way there...
    To expand on the above, if you were to slice up your image using the Slice Tool, say like this:
    Save for Web & Devices will create the HTML and save all the sub-images.
    Then you edit the HTML and add a (hypertext link) elements surrounding the various images.  Only thing is you'll have to set the border-style of the images to none.
    For example:
    <!-- Save for Web Slices () -->
    <table id="Table_01" width="554" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
      <td colspan="10">
       <img id="Sig_01" style="border-style:none" src="images/Sig_01.jpg" width="554" height="56" alt="" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
      <td colspan="10">
       <a href="http://www.GrahamsWebSite.com"><img id="Sig_02" style="border-style:none" src="images/Sig_02.jpg"
            width="554" height="43" alt="" /></a></td>
    </tr>
    etc.
    A full copy of the HTML and images can be found here...  View Source to see it as an example:

  • Converting multiple columns into one.

    All,
    I have a requirement to convert multiple columns into one. Following is the pseudo code of current implementation. It unions the various columns ( col1, col2........) into a new column new_col. But perforamnce is extrmely slow owing to multiple unions. It may be noted that tables and where conditions of all these queries are same.
    Can you help me create a more efficient query?
    select col1 , col2, col3, col4 from my_tables where some_cols = my_condition;Below is the query used to convert these columns into one.
    select col1 new_col from my_tables where some_cols = my_condition
    union all
    select col2 from my_tables where some_cols = my_condition
    union all
    select col3 from my_tables where some_cols = my_condition
    union all
    select col4 from my_tables where some_cols = my_condition

    Without looking at those things you could be barking up the wrong tree by assuming the issue relates to the unioning of queries or other such things.Well, might be.........
    Execution time of this query (just the execution time not the retrival) is around 34 seconds with connect-by clause for returning 22,000 records.
    Here's the plan

    how do i convert multiple tracks into one large mp3?

    Hi,
    You can use an app such as Audacity or Join Together to create one larger file. If AAC file used instead of mp3, you could use GarageBand.
    If you have the original CD, you can join the tracks whilst re importing disc.

  • Parking Several PO into One Invoice

    Hi,
    Is it possible to park several PO into one invoice. Using MIR7 allows me to park 1 PO per Invoice only.
    Thanks.
    Kath

    Hi,
    You can.
    In MIR7 you click on the multiple option avaialble near PO/Schd. agreement there you can mention several PO & press adopt button, then all the Open GR's for Invoice will be copied into this MIR7 Screen in the line items.
    Generally invoices are booked as per delivery challan no., if you had maintained the delivery note no. in GR then you can book the invoice accordingly for different PO's.

    In case you may want to resize the various images (collected into one psd, tif or psb as Tai Lao explained) more than once it might be advisable to Convert them to Smart Objects to avoid unnecessarily decreasing image quality by repeated transformations.
    If this is about Photoshop CS5, that extra step may not be necessary since images dragged or pasted into a document are now converted to Smart Objects by default, unless you disabled the new preference for that.
    It should be possible to simply drag images in and then start playing with layer opacity, blending modes, and masks until you get what you want.

  • I received pictures in a dozen emails and saved each picture into one file in .pages.  I did not import the photos before doing this and now iPhoto won't recognize the pictures because they are in a .pages file.  How do I get the pics to iPhoto?

    I received a dozen pictures in a few emails and I saved them all into one file in pages.  I just copied and pasted.  I do not have the originals any longer.  Iphoto will not permit me to import the pictures as it does not recognize a .pages file, nor can I simply click and drag from the pages document to iphoto nor from pages to the desktop to iphoto.  How can I save each picture I guess back into a jpeg and then import them into iphoto or have i lost them to a pages document forever?  This is urgent as I need the pictures made into a book on iphoto for work by Friday!!!  Please advise!  Thank you.

    Greetings,
    Locate the Pages document wherever it's located on your computer and click once on it to highlight it.
    Go to File > Duplicate to make a backup copy of the file.
    Click once again on the file to highlight it.
    Go to File >  Get Info
    In the "Name & Extension" category remove the ".pages" extension and put in ".zip".
    Close the info window and double-click the now renamed pages file (zip file now).It will decompress into a folder which contains all the base components including all the images you added.  These can be dragged onto the iPhoto icon to import them.
    Hope that helps.
