Copy an icon/image on photoshop cs6

Hi,
I want to copy an image I inserted in another image and added text to and make it exactly the same right below it. how do I do that?

Hi barbara1221 here is the step by step so you can learn how this is done...
New document>375x375px 72ppi Black background colour.
Then to help with positioning...
View > Snap
View > Show > Smart Guides
Shape Tool (U) > Rounded Rectangle Tool, select white fill no stroke
Click on canvas 275x275px corner radius set to 10px, OK
Align center with background
Duplicate the rounded rectangle - right click duplicate on the layer or Ctrl+J
Select the duplicated layer and using the Direct Selection tool (A) select the bottom half of the shape, whilst selected go to your properties pallet, unlink the corners and set the bottom two to 0 (this will square off the corners)
With the shape still selected with the Direct Selection Tool hit Ctrl+T and drag the bottom line up until you hit 80px, enter.
Double click the layer thumbnail and select the desired colour for the head of the calendar (I used #ff33cc), press Ok.
To create the rings use the Rounded Rectangle Tool again and click on the artboard and set to 30x70px corner radius set to 10px, OK.
Double click the layer thumbnail and select the desired colour for the head of the calendar (I used #999999), press Ok.
Move this into position using your X Y's set to X:110px Y:15px
Duplicate this shape
Move this into position using your X Y's set to X:235px Y:15px:
It should now like this:
Now you have the basis for the calendar you can add your effects to it, you can play around with it. Select the main white calendar background layer and go to the layer styles:
These are the settings I've used.
Again follow these same steps for the calendar head:
And these for both rings:
Once you've added your desired effects then its just a case of adding your text over the top.
So select your type tool and the font you want and add your text and colour.
And when you want to change the date just duplicate the type layer and change and hide the previous date.
That's it.
I hope this helps you learn to do these kinds of things as is always good to learn.

I own a Canon 6D and just bought Photoshop CS6 and I am not able to open my raw images into Photoshop CS6. I downloaded the camera raw and dng converter for it, but realized in the process that the one I downloaded does not work with my Mac version, 10.9.5.

• Why does the color change when I open a warm image in Photoshop CS6?

Whenever I open a warm color image in Photoshop CS6, the color of the image automatically changes? Please see the attached screenshots below.
What is the solution to this problem? Please Help.
I use Windows 7 Ultimate. Photoshop CS6.
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 2000

There is no "problem" to "fix". A raw file is just the data captured by the sensor, not yet an image. To produce a useful image it needs to be processed in a raw converter, either automatically in-camera or with a standalone converter (ACR).
The camera LCD shows you an in-camera processed jpeg, according to the camera manufacturer's idea of how the raw data should be interpreted. There is nothing inherently "correct" about this, and a lot of the original data have been thrown away in the process.
ACR doesn't make any assumptions about how the final image should look. It shows you a neutral starting point, with default settings to preserve as much of the original data as possible. The rest is up to you. You're not supposed to just accept the defaults. The sliders are there for a reason.
You can change the ACR defaults at any time if you come up with settings that are more to your taste.

When I open my images in Photoshop CS6 they appear considerably blown out - none of the foreground has color and detail seen here-but you can see a posterize like appearancin the sky. The same thing is happening in Lightroom 5.

The work files are tiffs 16 bit - anything that opens in photoshop has the
same look -jpg,psd etc. My images are printed as digital C print by a lab.
I haven't intentionally changed anything since yesterday when I was editing
images. The appearance is the same in Lightroom where my digital image are
stored. I also have scanned film image that open in adobe camera raw.So
whatever is happening occurs both in Photoshop and lightroom.
You suggest a monitor setting, worth exploring, but could a monitor issue
affect only photoshop/lightroom doc.

• Can't Paste Images in Photoshop CS6

Hi,
I'm trying to copy images from File Explorer to Photoshop CS6, but when I press Ctrl+V nothing happens. When i go to Edit, Paste is grayed out.
Please help!
I am using Windows 8 64 bit.

• How to make an icon image using Photoshop

I found out how to do this recently so I decided that I wanted to make a tut for those who don't know how to make an icon image. This icon image is for the libraries tab on your computer. Under the libararies tab there is Music, Pictures, Documents, and Photos
First you will need the ICO (Icon image format) Format extension for photoshop which can be downloaded here:
http://www.telegraphics.com.au/svn/icoformat/trunk/dist/README.html
The download link and tutorial on how to install it is all in the link above.
Once you have that all set you can now launch photoshop to create your icon image. Once you have launched it, create a new document with the size as in the image below.

Create the image you want. I used a simple one by using the custom shape tool by pressing "U" on your keyboard and with the
basic blending options.

The reason why the image is pixelated is because it is an icon image. Since the image is only 256x256 pixels when you zoom in on it that will get you the pixely result. The reason why I zoomed  in is so you can see it. But don't worry this is no the end result. Just continue reading and you will see.
So once you have created the icon go ahead and press
file>save as>(under format choose the ICO)>and choose the name that you want to name it. And save it in your C: drive. You will see why to save it in your C: drive in a sec.

So now that you have created the icon and saved it now you can create the new library.

Name the library whatever you want I named it "Sample" for tutorial purposes. Notice how it gives you a default boring icon image for your library.

So now once you have created and named your library now it is time to get the icon image into place.
Go to computer/c: Drive/users/YOU/ And now once you have reached this area you will need to access a hidden folder named "appdata" to do so press "Alt" then a menu bar will show. Click
tools>folder options>and view. Find the option to view hidden folders then press apply then ok. Now we shall continue so AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Windows>Libraries
Now you should see all the libraries including the one you just created.

Once you have reached your destination then open a new text document with notepad and drag the library you just created in notepad. The result should look like this:

once you have reached this point click at the end of the second to last line down then press enter and enter in this information
<iconReference>c:\"NAME OF ICO FILE YOU CREATED IN PS".ico</iconReference>
Example:

Once you have entered that information go to file>save and the icon image should appear on the library you created.

Now you are officially finished. Go and spread the news and joy. Bye for now

It is Windows only because all those screen shots are exclusively Windows, the file structure and paths do not resemble those of the Mac in the least.  As a Mac user, there's nothing I could take from your tutorial.  Sorry,
No drives named with letters like C: on the Mac, for instance.  No backward slashes either, ever.  No such paths either.  No "Notepad" on the Mac, we use TextEdit; but such a text editor is not remotely needed on the Mac to make and/or edit icons.  Etc.
Those folders are not even called "Libraries" on the Mac…  Nothing resembling your tutorial at all.
The icons in the Finder's Sidebar are not customizable at all in recent version of OS X.

The problem is, whenever I insert eg a picture or want to create a font, this is as small as a point and each time when opening Photoshop CS6. Is there a way to solve the problem so that's the image a lot more bigger directly?

From your screen capture it looks like you Placed in an image into a new document as a smart object layer.   When you open the new document  you either selected a preset document size or you entered some custom setting the the document.  The Document has a width and hieght pixel size and the document has a resolution DPI setting. Together they define the document print size in some units of measurement like inches, cc, mm etc.  The Image you placed is also has a size its.  Its resolution size  may much different.  Photoshop will match the placed image to you new open document.  You need to be careful with the resolutions of the document you using Here is a screen capture to document both have the same number of pixels but different DPI resolution Both have the same RAW image placed in and the default place transform accepted.

• Bridge CS6 can't open image with Photoshop CS6

I installed Bridge CS6 and Photoshop CS6 with my Mac Pro with drive 1, which was cloned with drive 2 as a backup.
Now every time I try to open my RAW file in Bridge, it opens the file with the Photoshop with drive 2 instead of 1.
I have tried to eject the drive 2, but Bridge (with drive 1) fails to find the Photoshop in drive 1.
I have to force to open the Photoshop CS6 before Bridge in order to open the image, is there a way to sovle this problem?

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

If you are actually interested in trouble-shooting please read this (in particular the section titled "Supply pertinent information for quicker answers"):
http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2325
What have you done for trouble-shooting so far anyway? (Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point.)
