Copy and paste of images still broken?

I use Firefox 14 and Windows XP, and I can't copy and paste images from the web into, say, a Word document. I used to do this all the time for knitting patterns, and it's very frustrating to have lost this function. I see from the knowledge database that this problem existed since version 11 or 12. Is there a solution somewhere?
Or, can someone help me download an earlier version? All I can find are release notes.

A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?

I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

Some images are copy-protected.
If all else fails, you can make a screen shot of the image:
With the image visible in your browser, press CMD-Shift-4 and your cursor will change to crosshairs.
Position the cross hairs at one of the corners of what you want to copy and drag to the opposite corner, then release the mouse. An copy of the image will be saved to your desktop.
You can now edit and use this image.
Be sure to respect copyrights.

How can i copy and paste an image from 1page to another on iPad

i have been trying all afternoon to get copy and past to work on images from 1 page to another, are shortly going on holiday and thought i would keep in contact with a website that i belong to, to be able to go on the forum and take part in the quiz's that i do now, but are not able to copy and paste an image from 1 page to another, i click on the pic, save image and copy comes up,i press copy, then go the the other page,click on the box, paste comes up but no image what am i doing wrong
any help would be most appreciated as i have been trying for the last 4 hours

Copy and paste? What app are you using?
When you tap on an image and select copy that usually copies the URL of the image.
Save image copies the image to your Camera Roll.
Most apps have an Insert choice that inserts an image from your Camera Roll into the document you are working on.
But if you tell us which app you are using, we should be able to provide more exact info on how to get done what you want.

I m having similar type of problem but with JPanel not with image. i m able to copy paste a JPanel using same clipboard but i want some more operations like after zoomin my JPanel , i want that now if i copy the image of Jpanel it should be the copy of original size of JPanel not the zoomed one but in my application it is showing the blank picture

I am saving graphics from Word for usage in a Framemaker document. When I copy and paste the file into photoshop it becomes blurred and unusable. How do I resolve this? I have tried saving the file in it's highest resolution but that doesn't work either.

The problem has to be the image itself, but then you give us zero information.
We don't even know what platform you are on, Macintosh or Windows, what exact version of the OS, of Photoshop, or Word you are using, how you are getting what kind of image from Word, etc.
It could be that you're just copying the low resolution thumbnail preview from MS Word, but we know nothing about its dimensions, resolution or format.

Meanwhile, I suggest you check whether you have any third party anti-virus programs installed in your system, some of those software might prevent such copy\paste function, if you have, please temporarily turn off or uninstall them as a test.
Or as
raghuramu mentioned, it is a software restriction in some websites.
By the way, are you able to copy and paste between other application, such as word to word, not IE?

How to copy and paste an image in iTunes 12

The old iTunes was very easy to use but the info box in iTunes 12 is a disaster. I can no longer copy and image and then paste it into the artwork box in the iTunes info box. It seems that I have to save the image somewhere and then point iTunes to it. What gives? Isn't there some easier way. Not every album includes artwork.
Better yet, how do I restore iTunes 12 back to iTunes 11. That version was so much easier to use.

Save the artwork in your pictures area on your computer. Then go on to itunes and right click on the song you want to add the artwork too and go to get info, then click on the box that says artwork, then click add artwork and it will open a box that will let you search your computer for the image.
I had the same problem as you and done this and it allowed me to allocate artwork to songs. Hope this helps.

When I right click on an image and choose 'copy image' and then try to paste it into my editing software, all i get is a string of text that is the location of the image as if I had chosen 'copy image location' instead. what gives?

I too was unable to copy & paste ''IMAGES'' suddenly. This function continued to work correctly in my Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers while not working in Firefox. (I WAS able to copy & paste ''''TEXT'''' however in all 3 browsers.)
As described by another poster, I would click on "Copy image" as I always did, but instead of the image appearing when I clicked paste, the ''URL'' of the image appeared instead.
My computer developed this problem suddenly yesterday after downloading and installing the newest version of Firefox, which is 12. I tried some of the suggested solutions here to no avail, but I strongly suspected the problem was with Firefox 12. To test this, I re-installed Firefox 11 and immediately my copy & paste function started to work correctly once again and I am now able to copy & paste images once again.
I will not install Firefox 12 again until Firefox corrects this problem. I need this function and do not want to have to deal with a convoluted method of saving a graphic with unnecessary extra steps, thank you. Every single time I upgrade Firefox, something is incompatible with the new version and no longer works. This is always a nuisance, especially when it is my Norton toolbar.
This time it was my copy & paste function (again, for images only.) Anyone else with this problem should re-install Firefox 11 to see if their copy & pasting of images function is suddenly restored, as mine was. Good luck! :)

Copy and Paste "Chops" Images Up

Hi! I opened up Photoshop earlier and did something I do all the time - remove backgrounds from high-res images to make collages. Every time I try to use my Quick Selection Tool tonight, it won't keep the selection. The moment I take my finger off of the (Option) key, the selection changes and then when I press Delete, it eats away at the image outside of the aforementioned selection area.
Furthermore, I try just pasting an image into a blank, transparent canvas and it gets "chopped" up... Why is this happening?
I appreciate any help you can give and I apologize if this explanation is a bit nonsense!

Man. Resetting the tool and updating worked with my first image.
Then, I tried working with the second pretzel bag and the same thing happened tenfold :-/
I made a selection on the left. And this is what happens after I take my finger off of the Option key. The selection broke up into these little quadrants.
And then when I press delete, this is what I get
