Copy and Paste Single Color Correction
I'm trying to copy and paste a single color correction to the rest of the clips in the timeline and run into a problem. I've tried to disable the other color corrections before copying but all that does is paste the unchecked correction also. I've tried deleting the other corrections before copying but that likewise deletes all the previous corrections in the clip that I paste to. So in other words, no matter how I configure my color corrections in the clip that I copy from, the exact same configuration is what gets pasted into the paste clip. Surely there is a way to copy a single color correction when dealing with clips with multiple corrections? My protocol is to adjust contrast on one correction, color balance on another and now I want to add a tint to a number of clips with out having to write down the color parameters and individually make the adjustments in maybe 70 or 80 clips. You don't. In the PRIMARY and SECONDARY rooms, you can save grades. Park your playhead on a clip, hit SAVE. Those grades will show up no matter what project you open in Color.
What I do is make folders for every project, and save my shot grades in there. I can then apply it to another project, if I have the need. When working on a reality series, I often have the need.

When I copy and paste from Word to my e-mail using Firefox it changes the font and spacing to single space and 10pt.
It just started doing this a month ago.
It does not do it when I am on my laptop or using Explorer.
Help, I hate explorer.If this were a project that I was involved in, I would recapture the media at the correct frame rate and rebuild the sequences correctly.
Moving from production, to post production, to delivery is a series of steps, and the success of any particular step is based on having all the preceding steps done correctly.
Shortcuts and workarounds tend to create awkward and difficult problems, that often only surface late in the process.

Copy and paste buffers not working correctly in iOS 8.1m
Both iPads2's in my family arsenal are exhibiting what I believe to be a bug in the iOS8.1 (perhaps corrected by 8.1.1?), in the cut/copy & paste buffer stack.
When invoking the operation to copy and paste data from one application to another, the paste action consistently selects the previous (e.g., stack level 2 rather than 1 or Top) data as what is to be pasted.
In other words, if you have used the copy and paste routine twice, the second pasting will supply one with the paste data from the first operation, rather than the desired data from the second copy and paste operation.
Copy and paste appears to work correctly from within a single application, but consistently fails when copying data from one application to another.
Does anyone know of a work-around for this bug? Is it a bug that others have identified? Is there a new selection filter menu option for copy and paste operations, and what method is used to invoke the menu?
I hope this is addressed soon, as I use Cut/Copy & Paste operations extensively (I've already had Carpal Tunnel Release surgery once and don't relish a repeat performance, no matter how successful the first was in correcting the damage).
Any clues as to what's going on here?

labernacheAll you can do is simply see if iOS 8.1.1 helps you with this. With some people it has, and others it has not. I would also recommend doing a clean install of your system, too.
Follow this procedure for a Troubleshooting Methodology ... basically reset to factory default condition -BUT- be sure to do the following methodically and also to follow the part with Apple Support!
First you want to make sure you have several backups of your data and done with a couple of "different" sources. Be sure to understand what data is backed up and what is NOT on iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup. Use a variety of methods for backup ... you might check into Dropbox, in addition to your Apple options.
Then turn off your desktop anti-virus software when using iTunes for this reset to factory default. After you do that reset, then leave your iPad in its factory default state and see how it operates then. If you encounter any problems in that factory default state, then take it to Apple Support, and let them know that you have just reset it to that state with iTunes and have not put any of your data back on and it is operating in this fashion (whatever the problem is) in that pristine state. Make sure you keep that trouble ticket number, because if it has to be escalated through Apple Support, you're going to find all communications tied in with that number. If the lower level help isn't able to help you, then escalate it to a higher level to examine the problem. Keep at it with that trouble ticket number until Apple Support arrives at a solution to that problem. Be methodical and keep at it.
On the other hand, if everything is okay with the factory default condition, then restore your backup. Some people have discovered that the problem resides in the apps or something in the restored backup. If that's the case, then it's going to be trying and difficult to find out which developer's app is causing you the problem. And ... it's true ... that a developer not following Apple's instructions and guidelines for his app can CAUSE YOU TROUBLE. This kind of thing does happen from developers, especially when a new system upgrade comes out, because some developers ignore what Apple tells them about changes coming, and what they do BREAKS SOMETHING.
This is a troubleshooting methodology that you are going through. See it through to the end.

Swatch palette becomes full of unused colors when copy and paste from one document to another!!
sometimes (i haven't found a pattern yet of when) when i copy and paste an object that is solid black (for example) into another Illustrator document, a bunch of unused swatches copy into the swatch palette for no reason! lots of "default global colors" and PMS swatches. i then have to 'select all unused' and delete them all to clean out the palette (which always seems to stall while thinking when selecting or deleting them). often times i get the global swatch warning (always 2x, not just once) before placing an object and before the whole swatch palette fills up with unused colors.
this has only happened recently in the last few months and i have been using Illustrator for years so i'm not sure what's stemming this. a new update? has anyone else noticed this problem and know a solution? is there a preference checked somewhere that i don't know about?
guess i should mention i'm on CS3 Illustrator running MAC OS 10.5.6

kimI've had this problem before as well and it has to do with a currupt file that your coppying from. It's too complicated to explain here so here is my fix for it.
I take the file and save it down or up in CS1. Open infected file in CS1. Create a new file in CS1 the same size as the one you've opened. Select all and drag and drop into the new empty file. Don't copy paste, it must be dragged into the file. You can then delete all global colours and save your file. The curruption will be gone. There's a way to check suspect files to see if they have the deleted global colours present. Open your suspect file in a text editor like simple text, scroll down a little way and if you see a bunch of lines of code mentioning "deleted global colours" then you know it's infected and has to be fixed.

I want to copy a single pixel and then paste it in the

(This is in effect changing the colour of the target pixel,
isn't it.
But in my case copying an existing pixel seems simpler than
selecting a
colour from the swatch or using the colour picker.)
What is the most efficient way of doing this?
I tried to select one pixel with the marquee tool. Then
copied it with
control-C, but then how do I select the target pixel and
paste with
control-V?

Why do colors come over as Color Book swatches when I copy and paste to a new document? Original document has CMYK spot color swatches. I copy them and paste them in new document and it gets converted to a Color Book swatch. Why?
Check the spot color options of that document.

Why are my colors changing when copy and paste a graphic from docA to docB both in illustrator?
Both documents in Illustrator CC are RGB and I'm trying to copy a logo onto a template, but the color of the logo completely changes when I copy and paste it into the template. The logo has three different pinks and they turn red when pasted. There is no graphic styling and the logo is all gradient.
What is weird is that we get a lot of logos from the same company and we put it on shirt templates so they can see size wise on how it would look on shirts. It's happened with other logos, but very slightly. I asked my co-worker who sends me the logos what version she uses and she also uses CC but does not know what version the other company uses. To them, it doesn't matter if the logo colors get altered, they have the PMS colors to work off of for screen printing. I just want to make sure that if another company sends us logos with PMS colors, we will know how to fix it.

Color change between copy and paste

when I draw a rectangle or any other shape in Pages and give that objet a color (RGB: 175,217,82) and I copy and paste that objet, the color of the copied object does change to (RGB: 188,219,108). Copying the copied object stays the same (RGB: 188,219,108).
This unwanted color-change is very annoying! Help, what am I doing wrong?

There is a difference between the RGB color assigned to the object and the color you measure when you probe the screen area of the object with the color picker tool. I presume this has something to do with the screen driver's attempt to balance the colors or something. (Not an expert here, just observing.)
There hasn't been a change in color, just a difference between the assignment and the measurement. Trust the color swatch of the Fill tool, not the measurement tool.

Why does the frame color change to black when I copy and paste between documents?
Copying and pasting between documents in Indesign. The color of the text stays the same but the lines and frames change from a specified color to black. Also changes when I drag and drop can anyone tell me how to fix this?
You have not provided any exact information like what version of ID, system info, paragraph styles, color definitions and whatnot, so we can't know what is going on. either way, ask in the ID forum and provide all those important details.

Copy and Paste Multiple lines into a single cell
Folks:
I need to copy some plain text data into a single cell that has been merged with other cells to provider a larger unit; however, every time I copy and paste my data it gives me an error. In addition, if I paste the data into a single cell, the next line
of data inserts into the next row.
I understand that Alt+enter is a quick way to do what I want, but I already have the data typed out, and I do not want to type the data again.
Example: (If possible I want in one single cell)
Disks=32
Total space=1.74TB
Used space=1.20TB
Free space=0.54TB

That is not possible - when you copy/paste this way, you only copy the plain text, not the formatting. You'll have to apply formatting to the cell with pasted lines from scratch.

Know any reason why color swatch coverts to black when I copy and paste into another document?
I keep having issues when I copy and paste a table from one document to the next. Some of the PMS ink colors convert to black. Anyone have a clue?
In colors in the table or elsewhere in the file? Are you using table or cell styles? If so, did you define new ones or redifine the defualts? The general principle to remember when moving content from file to file is that anything like styles or swatches that appear with the same name in both documents will use the definition from the receiving file.
Anothe possibility, though less likely, is that you've used the ink manager to alias the spot color to black. -
Sorry for short novel I am writing. I just wanted to cover as much backround as possible.
So, here it goes. I backed up my iphone 4 after renting a movie. The movie only played the starting credits before I was called on for daddy duty. A few days later the movie would not play, so I restored my phone from my backup. The movie would still would not play so itunes support refunded my purchase and ended my viewing privileges for that rental after verifying that I had not viewed the movie. I then had a problem with my contacts showing up twice in the contacts list after the restore. So I attempted another restore. All was well at this point. I then started having trouble with my pc and decided to copy the internal drive to an external source. A week later I had a system failure and did a factory restore on my computer. I re-installed itunes and tried to copy and paste the old backup into the new itunes. Now itunes just flat out does not see the backup file (I failed to mention that I did a factory reset on the iphone after the last backup, hopping to start fresh). Tech support had me uninstall and re-install itunes and then copy and paste the old backup into the newly installed itunes with no luck. The files are all there, but itunes just doesn't see them (itunes says the device has not been backed up to the cloud or to the local machine). We then tried backing up the factory restored iphone and replacing that restore file with one of my old backups on the external drive. Ok, this is where it gets weird. We replaced the guts of the folder but left the folder itself so itunes would continue to recognize the new backup folder with the old files. Whoohoo, itunes now see's a backup folder full of old files, or so we thought. The new files were deleted using shift delete so they would be gone for good and not mix with any files or folders. When I restore my phone, it restores the files that were deleted from the restore file (pause here for a moment and imagine the stupid look on the face of tech support and I while we silently wonder how files that were permanently deleted were restored). This left tech support and I both scratching our heads. My service issue was escalated to the next level. I waited for the phone call the next day that was scheduled at 10am to my wife's phone, but the call never came through. As usual, apple disappoints again. I just bought an iphone 5s and still have the iphone 4, and am looking for a solution to retrieve my contacts and restore to the 4 or 5s. I am guessing that files in other folders must be associated with the iphone backup in order for itunes to retrieve the files. A way to resize images so that all are the same size??
I've got a minor complaint about InDesign going all the way back to version 1.0. I have a bunch of square images that I want to drop into a layout and then resize so that they're all the same size, e.g 2 inches wide (constrained height) or something.
