Copy on cd from slide show in adobe element 7

Way the copy on CD-R or CD-RW 700MB from slide show lose sharpness?
I created slide show with total run time each slide 5 sec and total  about 20 min and it covered on CD182MB.
Later I discovered what 5 sec for each  slide is not enough and I revised time to 9 sec with total time 41 min.. in this time the copy on CD covered 347 MB.
In both CD the sharpness very bad and not as original slide show.
I used the process to make slide show exactly as provided procedure in Element 7.
Is NORMAL to lost sharpnes on CD? If is not, what I need to correct?

If you mean you made a VCD, those always look hateful. That's just what VCD is like. If you have a DVD burner export your slideshow as a wmv file and use whatever software came with your burner to make a video dvd instead.

How do I move Elements 8 projects (slide shows) from a Windows XP computer to new Windows 7 computer that also has Elements 8 on it so that the slides shows will work (Elements 8 works well on the Windows 7 computer & I have done several new slide show projects on it)?    I tried backup & restore without success.  I have also found the .psess files and copied them to the catalog in the new computer but when the sides shows are opened none of the images or music is there.  Only the text that I entered shows.  I have even tried to replicate the file paths from the XP computer to the new computer to see if that will help.

UPDATE:  By a stroke of luck I happened to find a catalog link (a PSE8D file) in the 'My Catalog' file where the imported data was stored.  When I clicked on it to investigate what is was 'magically' all of my transferred projects appeared in Organizer.  Upon further investigation I found that the projects transferred from my XP computer were stored in a hidden catalog that had to be accessed through the Custom Location option in Catalog Manager (accessed by clicking File then Catalog then Custom Location).  No Windows or Elements search revealed this fact.  I am appreciative that I just got lucky.  The Adode/Photoshop company was absolutely of no help.  If fact to me their structure is designed to avoid contact with their customers unless you're buying a new product.  Their products have many good features (even though user unfriendly) and it's a shame they don't value their customers more once the sale is completed.
Bottom line:  All of the projects (sideshows) have been recovered and work in my new Windows 7 computer.  I hope my experience helps others.

  • Newbe requests help with audio for slide-show on Premiere Elements 4.

I recently wrote you regarding a problem I was having with a slide show I was making on Premiere Elements 4 importing photo clips and music from PhotoShop Elements 9.  Thank you for your help.
This very large slide show, some 200 clips that I have not resized is completed.  I am now having many problems with the music audio I am adding to various sequences of the slide show.  Specifically:the audio will not stay fixed on the places where I put it and end it.  Working on the Timeline Usually the length of the audio is shorter than the ending of the photo clips where it must go.  I click on the audio and stretch it and end it at the place I designate.  However, the other end has moved also so now I am left with a gap where there is no audio at the beginning of the segment.  Now in addition, the "Delete and Close Gap" does not work most of the time causing me to manually move the photo tiles which sometimes move when this happens.  I have to move each one or two individually to the left to close the gap and many times this causes loss of one or two photo tiles or they are out of order or have increase in number (of the one I am moving).
The program has also shut down for the past 10 days causing me to lose a good deal of work and sometimes photo clips and sometimes I get many duplicates of the photo clips.  All I do is edit mostly the same two segments doing this over and over because I can't proceed to importing any more music because I can't get the first segments correct.  I have chatted with you people, Sony techs, Microsoft Techs and Canon Techs.  The Sony techs suggested the program was at fault and I used the original installation disk and repaired the program.  It has still shut down on me but not as much.
I got error messages on the photo-cap instructions page you suggessted otherwise I would show pictures of the above problems.
I tried to copy and/or cut and paste from the Timeline thinking I would start a new slide show in PhotoShop Elements 9 using the same photos in reverse.  The program would not let me copy or paste.  There is great difficulty in highlighting the photo tiles in Timeline because I have to shift click on each individual tile and there are too many tiles and it would take too long to get a whole segment copied.  Maybe you know another way to do this?
I am at a stand-still now and I am quite despondent because I have been working on this slide-show for 3 months and it was a surprise for my daughter's 25th anniversary that was last Tuesday.
I do hope you have some good suggestions that will lelt me complete this Project and get it on a disk.  I am not that technical so please be specific.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kathy

Here's the basic advice I'd give, based on my experience. Much depends, though, on your goals and the specifics of your computer system:
    1) Resize all of your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size. This is VITAL if you want the program to maintain stability as you work. Also render often (by pressing the Enter key). When the render, the red lines above the clips on your timeline will turn green and the program will run much more efficiently.
    2) Work on your large slideshow project in shorter segments. You've got over 15 minutes worth of slides. Try working on this slideshow in 5 minute segments, output each segment and then combined the finished videos.
    3) Use only WAV audio as your music and audio for your slideshow.
    4) When you add video, audio or stills to a parallel track on your timeline, hold down the Ctrl key to override the ripple function and your current clips will remain in place.
    5) Maintain your computer by using a tool like the excellent, free, one-click Advanced System Care available at http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html
As for Delete and Close Gap, how it performs depends on whether you've selected Clear or Delete, whether you've pressed the Backspace key or the Delete key and if there is video or audio on a parallel track. (This is all covered in my books, by the way, if you're interested.)
Without knowing the specifics of your project and your situation, it's hard to give out more specific information -- but this advice should get you a long way toward completing your project!

  • Adding Music to slide show in Photoshop Elements 8

I am trying to add music to a slide show in Photoshop Elements 8. When I go to add the music I get the following message:
The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compresser/decompresser (codec) installed.
I've tried downloading a copy of things from the internet and either they were the wrong things or I didn't know how to use them, so I uninstalled them.
Can someone point me in the right direction of what I need to download and what I do once I download the software?
    Thanks so much!

I'm using MP3 and getting the same error.  Yes, the file does play in Windows Media player and in iTunes. The song I'm trying to use was purchased from Amazon.
Any advice on how to add this would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Creating Slide Show problems in Elements 10

I have Photoshop elements 10. I started to create a slide show: so selected the photos, then the show preferences from the dialogue box but when I clicked OK the Slide Show editor dialogue box did NOT appear and everything froze.  the only way out was to close the whole program. Please can you help?

If you are running Windows system then this article will help you to get started:

Although it is for PSE12, the steps are almost identical in PSE10.
    Good luck.

  • Problems w/ buring DVD of photo slide show & best Premiere Elements 8 upgrade recommendation please.

I created a video slide show in Adobe Photoshop & Premiere elements 8, kept getting messages:  "disk space low, exceeded recommended #of slides and/or recommended 30 minute duration".  So what, I want a 90 minutes slide slow?(!)  It allowed me to complete, but disk burn would never finalize (after stopping at 78% 8 hours later).  How do I get this project file to burn in Nero or something similar and is there better software out there?  I have a ton of videos to create after this photo slide show & I certainly can't wait all night for a video to burn after it is created.
PS:  I have had this problem w/ previous videos I created.  i.e. in the past, using same Premiere Elements version, I have combined multiple video clips into one DVD movie but it took all night to burn.  Any insight will be much appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
I agree with John T., in that the pixel x pixel size of the Still Images would be the first thing that I would look into.
Next, I interpret that error message to be related to the available HDD space. His links on furnishing more info will be important there. Pay special attention to furnishing the full specs. of your I/O sub-system, i.e. your HDD's, their size, speed, available defragmented free-space, controller type and how you have them allocated.
A 90 min. DVD should NOT be over the avilable space on a DVD-5 disc.
If you DO have adequate defragmented free-space on your HDD(s), you should be able to Burn to Folder, and then use Nero, Roxio or the great, free ImgBurn, to do the physical burn to DVD.
However, if you have limited defragmented free-space, that will likely fail, as the working files required are very large.
In very general terms, PrE needs between 40 - 60GB of defragmented free-space, just to run effectively and efficiently. When one does either a Burn to Folder, or Burn to Disc, that necessary space can go up.
Also remember that as one approaches about 70% of HDD capacity, performance decreases. As one nears 100%, performance can slow to a crawl, and at 100% catastrophic failure of the HDD is a strong possibility. One should not exceed about 70%, and NEVER go to 100%.
Good luck, and please let us know more, and especially about your I/O sub-system.

  • How do you create a 800 x 200 pixell slide show with Photoshop Elements 8?

I have a banner for a web page that measures 800 x 200 pixels. I would like to create a slide show in the whole volume but I have been unable to discover where to change the standard size of the slide show window to 800x200 in Elements 8. Can anyone help?
    Al

Many thanks for your reply. I edited a series of photographs to 800x200 as
you described and then attempted to create a slideshow in Slideshow editor.
I get a good horizontal fit in the slide frame but there are black bars top
and bottom since the frame is more than 200 pix high. My question really is
how do I create a 800x200 slide frame that the edited photographs will fit.
Subject: How do you create a 800 x 200 pixell slide
    show with Photoshop Elements 8?
In the slideshow editor interface click once on your image in the main
window - you will see a bounding box appear together with editing options.
Click on the More Editing button and when your image opens in full edit
    select the crop tool.
Set width to 800 px and height to 200 px and resolution to 72
Drag out your crop rectangle and move your image to the position you want -
this avoids image distortion but you will sacrifice parts of the original to
    create a banner.
Press Ctrl=S to save and check version set to save an edit without affecting
    the original.
Press Ctrl+W to close and your cropped image should automatically pop up in
    the slideshow editor.

  • Burning a DVD slide show on Premiere Elements 8.0

I am trying to burn a slide show on Premiere Elements 8, but when I try to save the slide show before burning my computer crashes.  I've got Windows 7.  My understanding is that Premiere Elements 7 and Photoshop Elements 7 do not work with Windows 7. I had both of those programs, and got Premiere and Elements 8 to remedy the problem to no avail.  My computer still won't save the slide show.  Any hints?  Thanks.

As per my understanding, you created a slideshow in PSE organizer and now want to burn into DVD using Output dialog which launches PRE...
Which application crashes and at which step??
Through PSE you can output the video into PDF or Video...

    Fortunen

When you installed version 10 did you convert your previous catalog?
If so, your projects should appear in the PSE10 Organizer. To search for them type PSESS into the search box.
You should then be able to open the project by double clicking on  its thumbnail.
Then choose Output >> Edit in Premier Elements

  • IPhoto '08: How can I copy an album or slide show to another computer?

    Hi,
I want to take a slideshow of a trip that I put music to and move it from my iBook to my new iMac so I can use iDVD to make a DVD of the slideshow (since I can't burn DVDs on my iBook). I have TONS of pictures from this trip, so it would really be a pain to cull through them again, even though all of the photos are on both computers.
Is there any way to copy a slide show (or an iPhoto album) to another computer via an external hard drive? I looked in the iPhoto Help and couldn't find anything on the subject.
Thanks for any advice! I promised some tripmates I would send them a DVD of my photos back in October, so I'm starting to feel guilty!

    Karin:
Here is one way to create the DVD:
1 - on your iBook with the slideshow ready to do use the Share->Send to iDVD menu option.
2 - once the slideshow is compiled into a Quicktime movie and is exported to iDVD, quit iDVD without saving.
3 - look inside your Movies folder for the QT movie that was just created.
4 - copy that movie file to your iMac.
5 - open iDVD on your iMac, select a theme and add a slideshow to the menu window with the "+" button at the bottom.
6 - open the slideshow editing window by double clicking on the slideshow button or text in the menu.
7 - drag the QT movie into the slideshow window on the left. This will let iDVD scale the QT movie to the TV safe area so non of the movie is lost to the TV overscan that will occur if the movie is added directly to the menu.
8 - once the iDVD project is ready use the File->Save as Disk Image to save the project as a disk image. This allows you to mount the disk image and play it with DVD Player to confirm that the encoding went as it should and there are no typos in the menu or title (my biggest error).
9 - when ready to burn use Disk Utility to burn, at the slowest speed possible, to a DVD-R disk.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Import photos from slide show cd

I have a cd slide show that was given to me that was created with lightroom. How do I import the pictures to lightroom3? When I try to import it shows no photos because they are embeded in the slide show application.

What format is the slidshow in?
If it is a pdf, then you can open it in PS (as long as it hasn't been security protected) and extract each image as a individual file.
If it is in a video format, you will need to open it in a video editor and create stills from each image.
