Copy & Paste Stopped Working - DW8

Hi,
I read about this happening in DW8 on PCs. I used to be able to copy & paste text..let's say from an email into my DW design window but it stopped working last week. I don't know if maybe I turned something off?? Now I can only paste onto my code window..which is fine and all but not convenient at all.
I tried doing what they suggested for PCs....forcing DW to make a new panelset.xml file but it didn't seem to change anything.
Any help?

It was fixed by something as simple as rebooting my system.
Sorry to panic but if anyone else has this problem try the old reboot and it may help.

Hi there,
I've been using RD for quite a while at home to control 2 more macs from my imac, and one of the features i use the most is Copy/Paste between the computers, but a couple days ago, i noticed that this features stopped working. I have no idea why this might be, and I can't find any specific reason for it to happen in the manual.

Copy paste stops working lion

Amazed to find, I open a PDF, select text, click 'Edit Copy'...
Go to text edit, click 'Edit Paste', and nothing happens.
If I did not have something on the clipboard, paste does not appear.
Crazy huh, a 'fundamental feature' regression is able to occur.

It's a bad PDF of course... But well, meh.

I cannot get Copy & Paste to work in iOS 5

I cannot get Copy & Paste to work on my iPhone or my iPad since updating to iOS 5.1
I can copy and paste within an app, buy copying from one app, then going into another, Paste is not available.
Anyone one else having this isuue? I have tried rebooting both devices but no change.

I just checked this out by opening a doc in PlainText and copying some sameple text that I typed. I hit enter a couple of times, pressed on the screen, the paste button appeared and I was able to paste no problem.
I then opened a fresh document in Pages and pressed on the screen to open the paset button and got the text to paste into the Pages doc with no problem.
You may have a glitch in your iOS 5.1 update. You might try doing a reset all settings reset and set the phone as a new one (You should not lose any data, or media) You will need to go in and reset any changes you may have made in settings as this set all of them back to factory defaults but your music, pictures, data, email accounts etc. will not be erased.
If this doesn't work you may need to reinstall the iOS again.I think you can do this through iTunes but am not 100% sure. You may need to take it to your local genius bar (Hope you have one close to your house) and ask them to reinstall the OS for you.

Copy function stopped working

Copy function stopped working in Numbers 2.2 (516). The Copy command in menu is still active, but it copies nothing. Any ideas how to solve this?

First reboot the computer.
Second make sure the keyboard is plugged in (if it is a desktop).
Third confirm the copy key combination work in other applications
Fourth see if you over rode the key combination in the System Preferences > Keyboard preferences pane

Copy and Paste Stops working across the Mac OS X

Recently I have been using my machine to connect to Windows XP machines using the RDC program (Mac equivilant of mstsc.exe) that Mircosoft provides.
Whilst swtiching between applications on the host OS (Mac OS X 10.8) I found that my copy and paste functionaility across the whole OS appeared to stop working. A restart of the whole OS seem to resolve the problem, but when I dug a little deeper I found that it appears that once I terminated the RDC program the copy and paste functionailty came back. This also include any extented copy and paste functions within the Mac OS X eg, screenshots (cmd+ctrl+shift+3) and partial screenshots (cmd+ctrl+shift+4 very cool use it all the time).
I just thought I'd add this issue to the Support forums in case other came across this problem, just one of those gotachas worth noting.

My keyboard stopped working and I recently installed a RDC program also. I will try to uninstall it and see if that is the main source of the issue. I will report back my findings for everyone else..

Copy and paste stops working in OS10.8

I am on OS10.8.4 running on a 2010 Macbook Pro (2.53 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB Ram). While working on my laptop with several windows or programs open I will eventually loose the function of Copy-Paste, and click-drag. To get these functions to work properly I have to close everything and restart the laptop. This did not happen using 10.7. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Sometimes this is caused by a third party software conflict, either some app you are running, or some other program running behind the scenes. To help pin down this possibility you can check whether this behavior occurs when running in a different user account (e.g., Guest) and when starting up in Safe Mode.

Copy and paste stopped working...

My Copy and Paste function works on and off, sometimes not at all.
The problem has been around for months.
I have a 2008 13inch Macbook Pro
running Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5
HELP!!
If it is at all relevant, frequently, and for way longer than my Copy & Paste has been malfunctioning, my keyboard randomly jumps th cursor position...

If you haven't already done so, log out or restart the computer and see whether there's an improvement.

Cannot Drag anything, copy + paste not working

My shiny new macbook was working great until this morning, when things went rather awry.
I have no idea why, but I cannot copy and paste any text (either using apple-c or the edit menu) and I am unable to drag anything such as files or safari interface components. (I somehow managed to get rid of the address bar and I cannot drag it back)
Does anyone have any idea why it would be doing this?
I've just noticed that copy and paste works in TextMate, but not in camino or safari

I can copy/paste on the iMac's Hard Hrive to any folder with no restictions. If I try to copy/paste to an outside source i.e. USB – DVDRW – external HDD or NAS, it does not give the PASTE option in the drop down menu. If I drag and drop a file, I get a circle with the line through it when placed in the folder and does not copy/paste. I think that’s an error or stop signal.
In Mavericks I can copy/paste to a mapped drive on my NAS, only if I first right click on NAS Drive icon and go to ‘Get-Info’ and in the General area’s Tick the ‘Unlock’ box. As soon as I have finished pasting, the lock box ticks again by it's self.
If I right click on the USB and go to ‘Get-Info’, in the General area I only get a Share Folder Tick box and not an Unlock Tick box. Share does not allow paste to activate in the drop-down menu

Paste stopped working in Dreamweaver CC

All of the sudden my paste function does not work when I copy something outside Dreamweaver and try to paste it inside Dreamweaver. I can copy/paste within Dreamweaver CC just fine. I did try to look it up online, but could only find directions for the CS versions, not the CC version. So even when I tried to delete/rename the Preference files it did not resolve the issue. Any help would be appreciated as I have a lot of clients who send me their text and I do not wish to retype everything!

When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache. You'll need to turn on Hidden Files/Folders in your Win Explorer to see them.

Why is Copy & Paste not working on CS5 on my Mac?

I'm using two different .psd files - on one, copy/paste (or Cmd+C, then Cmd+V) works perfectly after I have made a selection - it creates a new layer. On the other, this doesn't happen at all. I would attache the file but I don't think I can...
In any case, they are both simple files for Photoshop beginners. The one started out the same as the other, but I went through some basic steps in my learning, and now I am unable to copy/paste in the second file...
Does anyone have any ideas why this might have occurred? Thanks.

You can attach a screenshot of Photoshop when the problem is occurring. It's important that the Layers panel is open in the screenshot. Use Shift+Cmd+3 for a screenshot of the whole screen, which will be dumped on the desktop as a PNG file. Attach the PNG to a forum message by using the little camera button above the message entry field of a reply to this post. Note that attachments won't make it to the forum by email.

Have you tried simply dragging the file from one stick to the other? Do you know the format of the memory sticks (Macs can't write to those formatted as NTFS without the use of third-party software)?

Why is copy/paste not working directly?

Hi,
I have some problems when I try to copy/paste from Illustrator to PhotoShop. There is an error from Illustrator when I try to do so: " The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [Parm]".
What I did so far:
     - Do the updates
     - Run Illustrator with the 64bit version
     - Reset default configuration on most of my settings in Illustrator
I found a workaround that allow me to do the operation but takes me a lot longer. I copy the part of the image that I want and then I paste it in a new document in Illustrator. From this new document, I do another Copy and then. it let me paste it to my PhotoShop.
Specs:
Windows 7 pro 64bit
HP WorkStation Z230 (F1L56UT)
Intel Xeon E3-1245V3 @3.4Ghz
16 Gig
240 Gig SSD + 1000 Gig

Copy and paste stopped working in photoshop CC

I've been using Photoshop CC since march and this is a new issue. Not previously a problem until today.
When I select and area to copy, from a JPEG or photoshop PSD photograph, and make a new file to paste it into, the new file comes up the same size as the clipboard contents, as it is meant too, but photoshop will no longer allow me to paste. The selection EDIT, Paste is still there in black, not greyed out. I temporarily fixed it by restarting my computer and it worked until I closed Photoshop down again and reopened it, problem is back...what is going on?
Is it to do with preferences and how do I change them to fix this?
the only thing I've changed recently was telling JPEG files to use photoshop as the default programme to open up in my computer. I changed this because Bridge was no longer showing photoshop as an option when you rightclick an image and chose which file to use to open it. The fix was to close Bridge, chose a jpeg and change the default to photoshop to open it.
I'm running windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Thanks again,I did manage to delete the preferences using your method above. but again, copy and paste using PSD files still not resolved.
Copy and paste works for PNG GIFF JPEG files but not for PSD
OK thanks to Curt Y, I suggest the solution is to do the preferences first, then the purging.
I went back and purged the clipboard again after resetting the preferences and now it appears to be fixed.

Copy cut paste stopped working

Late 2011 MBPro running Yosemiti. Suddenly I can no longer copy text from anything to anything. It will cut but not paste. So I think the issue is that it will not Paste. Help

I've shut down and restarted my computer over and over. Whenever Im done using it. That obviously hasn't fixed the issue.
I'm sorry in regards for my "future posts" I don't see a spot to add my hardware. I'm working on a Macbook. Isn't that a notebook?
