what is difference b/w Copy Query and Saving query by " Save As " option?
If I delete some query in development , how does that gets reflected in production?
Please let me know.

what is difference b/w Copy Query and Saving query by " Save As " option? - the Copy query function can be used to copy query between Infoproviders but the condition is that both the Infoproviders should have common chars and KFs.
If I delete some query in development , how does that gets reflected in production? - You need to delete the query in production as well.

Copy Query Variants from InfoCube to MultiProvider

Hi,
Is it possible to copy query variants from an infocube to a multiprovider?
Basically, we used RSZC to copy the queries from the infocube to the multiprovider, but it doesn't look like the variants were copied over. Is there an ABAP program or some other workaround that can expedite/facilitate in recreating the variants on the multiprovider queries?

It is possible to copy but the only requirement is your target cube structure should match with the source cube structure.

Insert or copy query into workbook 7.0

How Can I copy a query into a workbook with new Analyzer 7.0 ?
In the old version (Analyzer 3.x), I can choose Tools->Insert (or copy) query.
How Can I do the same with Analyzer 7.0 ?

Copy query (SQ01) to new query with new infoset

Hi,
Not sure if this is correct forum.
Is there a way to copy existing query with an infoset to a new query using another created infoset?
If so, please explain how.

If you want to copy a query for another infoset its not possible.
The copied query will work for that infoset only which you have been generated.
You need to make a new infoset and than create a new query for it.

Urgent please _ copying query

I have a query to be copied from one cube to another multiprovider. I am using transaction RSZC to copy query from cube to multiprovider, which is not allowing me to do so,In the infocube comaptibility check it says some characteristics are missing in target. How to copy query, Please?

the best way is to use the transaction RSZC.
But the two Infoprovider must have the same characteristics (almost the charact used by the query).
If you're able to adapt the target Infoprovider with the missed characteristics you can use the RSZC.
In other case you have to reproduce manually the query.

Where has the copy query button gone to in BEx Anlayzer 7.0?

In BEx Analyzer 3.5, there is a copy query button under tools. It allows you to copy query within a workbook to another sheet.
I can't find this button in BEx Analyzer 7.0.
Any idea on how to get this copy query button back?

A good workaround is the "Add Drilldown According to..... in New Worksheets" context menu selection. Once you have your worksheet/report the way you want it, from the navigational panel with free characteristics, choose a field that has one or two values in it (you can put in filter values to do this, ie 2 calendar years). Right click and choose the entry "Add drilldown according to...". This will create new worksheets for every value contained in the infoprovider for that characteristic (hence the need to apply a filter). The new worksheets will be a replica of sheet one, filtered by and named by the characteristic values you've chosen.
From there you can continue to filter, drilldown, etc.

i am using SAP business one PL 16. i am trying to copy query print layout from database to another one using copy express. i am choosing only the query print layout but nothing is appearing in the second database. the logfile is showing nothing was made.
any clue?

FACE VALUE nt apearing in the orginal query, bt appearg in the copied query

I've got very rediculous problem, i'll explaain u clearly, so please give me the solution.
Problem:
*I've got one query in CFM(corporate finance management)
*that quer's got two structures in Rows and Columns
*in columns the first two columns are FACE VALUE and BOOK VALUE
*Actually i get the Face Value from "No of Units opening Balance" multiplied by "Nominal Value Unit Quoted" (which is an attribute of Security Identification No in CFM)
So, to get that i've created Formula Variable with Replacement path to get that Nominal Value into the calculation.
*so the query used to work fine in production also, but suddently FACE VALUE stopped appearing in the query, but if i make the copy of that query and excute then the value is coming properly in the copied query but not coming in the original query, this query has already been encorporated into the workbook,
i analyzed the query, it seems that only becoz of Nominal Value it is causing the porblem in the original query, but it souldn't come in the copied query also, right? if i make a copy of that original query and then excute, the Face Value is coming properly,
*Really it seems rediculous, i'm not able to get the exact problem, whether it is bug or not, i'm not able to get solution.

We have the following profile:
S_RS_COMP1

However we would like that an user had permission to copy query created by one another user.
Currently the system emits the message: authority you of not have you change the query. action aborted.
We would like that it copied query of one other to owner, however did not modify query of one other to owner.

Hi,
Add tcode su53 in the user role. Open the query with the user and try to copy.The error will appear. Go to the transaction su53 and you will have the object you need to add to the role to copy the query.

Hi,
For copying queries from one cube to the another use Tcode :RSZC.
If you have RKF and CKF in the queries,
then only those RKF's and CKF's which are used in the query will be copied(Only those which you use in the structure).
One more important all the keyfigures will be copied with Technical name as _1 at the end.
i.e: if you have a KF called AVERAGE with Techname as OSD_AVG then this will be copied as OSD_AVG_1.Meaning you cannot define your own Tech names.

When I am copying the query (Tools> Copy Query), the free characteristics from the original query are missing in the copied query. Could you please guide if there is a way to copy the free chars too?

Hi Sai,
When you do a copy query to a different location you have only changed the location for the results. Hence only the result rows will be displayed and not the free chars.

Error while copy query between infocubes

I was trying to copy a query between infocubes and ended with error message.
Query copied from Infocube A to Infocube B. Infocube B has an additional dimension with 2 char's when compared to infocube A.
Using transaction RSZC, I tried to copy the query, but ended up with following error..
1.Program error in class COPY_QRY_TO_CUBE method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
2.An exception with the type CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
3.The system tried to insert a data record, even though a data record with the same primary key already exists
I also tried using function module RSZ_I_COPY_QRY_TO_CUBE, which was of no help. I get the following message with the function module...

Are you trying to copy Business Content delivered Queries?
I had also got this error when copying over all queries from one cube to another. Reason for this message was plain simple - I did not realise that the sender Cube had Business Content Query which we cannot copy over using RSZC as system tries to create another query with suffix as 0****_1. We cannot create query in SAP user namespace. Error message is different then the reason behind it.

Variable of copied Query changes the original Query - variable

I have a Query "A". Then, I made a copy "B". Both Queries are the same definition, including the variables. In the Query A, there is a variable "ZWWW" that checks the date entered by the user. In the user exit I_step = 3, we check for the validity of the date entered. Unfortunately, we need to test the Query in QAS, which we do not need to test the validity of the data. Thus, we changed the variable to be "YYYYY" on the Query B.
Unfortunately, this new variable "YYYY" somehow is reflected automatically in the original Query A. This issue is only present if the Query B is a copy of Query A. Basically, the Query A and B have different technical names and UIDs. However, they are in the background related.
The question is: how can I change the variable on Query B without affecting Query A.

Variables are at
Query Filter Level
RKF Level..which is Global
What i understand is that this Variable of Query is in the RKF - which is GLOBAL.So if we change the RKF Variable on that Multiprovider... for not just Query A... ...it will change across all the Queries not just Query A or B.
We will have to identify the RKF1 and create a copy of the RKF1 as New RKF2 and replace the old Variable with the New One YYYY.
