Copy to Goods Receipt PO function on Goods Return

In current version 2007A there is no Copy to Goods Receipt PO function on Goods Return document. There is only Copy to A/P Credit Memo. This list should contain all available target documents.

Yes, you can.  You just need to go to add A/P invoice and click on Copy From button.  Then select multiple GRPO to copy.  However, you will be warned that only target FX rate can be used if you have BP currency instead of LC.

  • Goods Receipt PO, Based on Goods Return, Including Serials

    Hi All,
When you received an item to stock from your vendor, and the item was defective,
You should return the item to the vendor using 'Goods Return'.
What should one do in the following case:
Instead of crediting the returned item - the vendor decided to fix the defective part - and resend it to our stock.
The normal procedure, as I know it, would be to copy the 'Goods Return' to a 'Goods Receipt PO'.
However, if the item is managed by serials - The system won't allow me to return the same serial to stock,
and only lets me create a new serial.
If I will type the original serial manually in the 'Goods Receipt PO', the system will simply create a new record in the serial table (assuming duplicated serials are allowed).
What is the correct way to handle this situation ?
    Many Thanks !

  • Purchase Order Module  - Goods Receipt PO - Goods Return - AP Invoice

    Hi all expert,
    I have a senario is :-
Open Purchase Order Module  -> Goods Receipt PO -> Goods Return -> AP Invoice
Puchase Product A by "Purchase Order" with Qty 6,000 After "Good Receipt PO", found out 3,500 pcs is out of spec then "Goods Returns" 3,500 pcs. Then continue do "AP Invoice" with Qty 2,500 pcs.
Question is 1 week later, the supplier replacement back 3,500 pcs, so how am i going to start to steps? since PO have been close.
When i at  "Goods Receipt PO" wanna to copy from "Goods Return", it is show nothing.
    Your advise is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Danny

    Hi Danny
i think you have to create a new PO then GRN then PI...since you copied the PO to GRN it will show as closed as there is a target doc. linked to the PO. A PO can be changed only if there is no target doc linked to it .
    Hope this helps.

  • Landed Cost - copy from Good Received PO

    Dear Experts,
I have Created a AP/Reserve Invoice and already done its Good Received PO. Unfortunately, the item prices for all the items were wrong. (Thank GOD i have not done the Landed Costs ).
I tried to Copy the Good Received PO to AP Credit Memo, but this option was not available, and was not also able to copy to Goods Return for the same.
I tried the Vice Versa, i.e. went to the Goods Return and "copy from" but i did not find the Good Received PO for that supplier. I also went to the AP Credit Memo and tried "copy from" Good Received PO, but this option did not have the "copy from" Good Received PO in the list.
I came across an alternative solution which was to create Goods Return and then Copy that to AP Credit Memo. I have already done this.
Unfortunately, when i go to Landed Costs and select "copy from" Good Received PO, the OLD (and wrong) Good Received PO also appears in the list.  I tried to reconcile the BP in the BP->Internal Reconciliation->Reconciliation, but still the Good Received PO appears in the Landed Costs "copy from" list.
Is there a way in Landed Costs "copy from" Good Received PO i can have the already reconciled BP's Good Received PO not appear in the list?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    regards,
    Feroz Dosani.

    Dear Dosani,
Firstly, it is normal that you cannot create an ap Credit Note directly from the GRPO. When the user needs to revert a GRPO s/he needs to close it with a Goods Return.
Secondly, what we have to establish now is why you cannot create a goods return PO based on the GRPO even if the GRPO is still open.
Do you receive any error messages? Is the option G. Return grayed out?
Please, give us some more information and we will try to help.
    Thank you.

  • Landed costs can not get Goods receipt PO when Goods return made

    Hi, everybody
I need to calculate landed costs and it seems that I can not use when I built a Goods return.
My procedure as follow ( ps: the same vendor number)
    1. created a PO then Goods receipt PO (docNum says 1111) which included 20 quanties for item no AAAA.
    2. created a Goods return which Copy from Goods receipt PO no: 1111, which included 5 quanties for item no AAAA.
    3. next, I try to caculate my Landed costs. I open a new Landed costs and click the button "Goods Receipt PO", but I can not find any Goods receipt PO no: 1111.
What can I do to caculate my exactly landed costs & Goods receipt PO no: 1111 that included 15 quanties?
    Thanks for your help

When you only Returned partial goods from your Receipt.  The Receipt should still be open and you should be able to process the Landed cost. I am not sure why the GR is not showing in the landed costs window.
Please check if the GR is closed by an AP Invoice / by itself.
Otherwise, you will need to process AP Goods Return for the remaining 15 and process a New Goods Receipt for 15.

  • Goods receipts and Goods returns against PO

    Hello gurus
Good day to you. please find my requirement below
    1. i am get ting GR against PO data from legacy system and i need to post Good receipts or Goods retruns documents (ie based on the quantity recieved, if it is +ve value for quantity then post goods receipt against PO and if it is -ve value for quantity then post goods returns against PO) in SAP by using PI as middleware.
    2. IDOC provided is MBGMCR03 and message type is MGBMCR.
So now my question is based on the received quantity i have to change the movement type as 101 and 102 respectively in idoc mapping of PI but i want to know how can i do that. i am little  confused about the usage of the idoc type provided in mapping like how can create IDOC with goods receipt or goods return based on the received quantity.
I request you to please let me know the process to follow. can i use only one idoc provided for mapping and can i do this task in only one interface, please clarify. if i can use the idoc provided and if i can do this task in one interface (ie legacy - PI - SAP), please let me know the steps which i need to follow to complete my scernario successfully.
    Thanks and Regards
    Raj

    Hi,
    >>>i am little confused about the usage of the idoc type provided in mapping like how can create IDOC with goods receipt or goods return based on the received quantity.
you cna use function substring (from standard graphical message mapping)
and use it to check the first char of the quantity
if it's - then map 102 to the MOVE_TYPE field of the idoc
    if not then map 101...
I never worked with 102 with MBGMCR but 101 against a PO works for 100%

  • Copying Goods return to AP Credit note

    Hi all,
We've returned some goods to a supplier, so we do a goods return on SAP, so that credits stock and Debits allocation account.
Our supplier has sent us an AP credit note. So we 'copy to' AP Credit (from Goods return) and the automatic journal entry is Credit Allocation account Debit Accounts payable.
My question is, all of the above entries are balance sheet entries. Shouldn't a goods return have some 'income' effect on the P&L?
    Thanks for any help...

    When you make good return
    Then
Goods Receipt Not Invoice   Debited(Liability )
    Inventory Account                Credited(Asset)
And when you make A/P Credit note based on Good Return,
    Vendor Account                     Debited(Liability)
    Tax Account                           Credited(Asset)
    Goods Received Not Invoice  Credited(Liability)
so i think  ,there are not any ledger belong from P & Loses .
    Thanks

  • Goods Return can't copy to AP Credit Memo

    Hi,
We had customer who is operating in computer gadget. The store keeper is returning stock to supplier by issuing Goods Return with old unit price. When suppliers issues AP credit memo to the customer, the unit price differs. Customer is copying Goods Return to AP credit memo and put in new price but when add AP credit memo, the following error message appears:
"Amount to credit is greater than credit balance"
Customer is curious why system allows to add AP Invoice if unit price differs from GRPO but disallow to add AP credit memo if unit price differs from Goods Return.
Customer is now running on 2005A PL23 and we are tested in PL34. Same result.
    Any idea how to resolve?
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi  Thomas,
Please also make sure that the Expense and Stock account is defined under Administration -> Setup -> Financials -> G/L account Determination ->
Purchasing tab -> Variance Account (Expense and Stock account).
    Hope it is helpful!

  • Goods Receipt Against A Goods Return - Not Working

    Hi,
i have been trying to work through the Purchase goods return process for a client and am having issues with the flow.
    This is the process :-
Create Purchase Order for 1 item,  Qty = 21
Goods Reciept linked to Purchase Order - Qty = 21 this is 100% (Purchase Order Closes)
Goods Return linked to Goods Receipt - Qty = 1
Goods Receipt replacement item from supplier - attempted to link to Goods Return - none available - find goods return closed !!!
How can i link the new goods receipt with the original Purchase Order/Goods Receipt/Goods Return if the goods return is closed.
    I'm using 2007A SP01 PL05
    Thanks
    Barry

    Dear Mr Mason,
    The scenario you described:
Return closed automatically after being added
    is system behaviour.
It is not possible to link the new GRPO to the goods return.
The only suggestion I can give you is writing the GRPO and goods return numbers in the remark of the new GRPO.

  • Goods Return from Production

How the rejected goods (at prdn) can be return from Production to stores, as the function in production of goods return is not working.( Issued production order of 10 nos, production completed for 8 nos, the remaining 2 are rejected & to be return to stores for further material accounting)

    Shailesh,
When you are receiving goods after production suppose you have to receive 10 goods out of them 8 are OK and 2 are defective then in the receipt from production form you can enter the first line item by choosing the production Order from the production order Tab below and change the Quantity to 8 which you would like to enter into the Main warehouse while in the next line item manually enter the same Production order no. and in the qty column enter the 2 no.s of Defective goods and change the Wahrehouse no. to Stores. and add the form.
Now when you see the stock you will notice that in the Stores WH stock will increase by 2.
Please let me know if this has solved your problem.
