Copying aperture files into iFinder

When I click on Finder/Photos I only see the ones that were saved through iPhoto, but not the ones I've saved now through Aperture, how do I see ALL photos in both programs in Finder?

how do I see ALL photos in both programs in Finder?
Here's a tip: you don't. The point of using iPhoto and/or Aperture is that you access your photos through them and not the Finder. Whatever about Aperture, surfing the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder is a good way to trash the Library.

    Don't you just love changes in interfaces?
    I found the answer to my question.
    When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer.

  • Moving aperture files into iPhoto

    I just upgraded to Snow Leopard not knowing Aperture 1.5.6 would not open again. I do not use Aperture enough to pay for an upgrade and want to import my photos into iPhoto. How do I do this (where are the files) and keep the quality of the pictures? If I can get them into iphoto, can i then delete the aperture file? Thanks.

    The files are where you stored them
    What I mean by that is it depends on whether you are using managed or referenced images.
    If managed, then they are in the Aperture library itself. If you just want the original RAW files (with no adjustments or keywords) it's fairly easy to see all of them by creating a smart album.
    Right click on the library and then select "show package contents." Once you've done that, go to the search box in that finder window and type kind:image in the search box. Ensure the Aperture library is selected in the "where" pane in the Finder window and you should see every image. I'd suggest you copy them to another location (select them all, and option drag them to a folder you create... you should see a green plus sign while dragging).
    If you have previews generated, you may get them as well, so you may have some cruft to weed out but you'll get all your images.

  • Help in using the plugin to import Aperture Files into Lightroom?

    I’m attempting to use your installer plugin to import my Aperture photos (with Aperture edits) into a Lightroom catalog. The Aperture photos are referenced files on a remote drive. When I select the “Select” Aperture Library on the plugin installer it will not let me select the files on the remote drive. The “Select” button for “Copy images to” works and lets me select a location. I do not want to move the files, but want to be able to access these file from Lightroom and from Aperture (eventually not use Aperture). Please advise me as to how to proceed… Ken Harper

    Correct, I am using the Import Dialog.  Menu | File | Import Photos and Video...  -OR- From the Library, click on the Import button to the lower left.
    The images have not been imported.  I even created a brand new catalog with nothing imported - Same results.
    During a normal import, the impages do show during the import process.  In this case they do not.
    Move does not work.  The only mothod that does, is for me to try the import first and let it fail.  Lightroom, does however build the directory structure / files for the days the pictures were taken, it just does nothing else.  I then copy/move the files in to (as noted above) from Drive A to Drive B by myself and then use that drive as the source to do an Add.
    When I use the <Copy> the only message I get is one with "Some operations were not performed." at the top.  Next line down has "Could not copy a file to the requested location."
    Now for the kick in the teeth.
    I, to make 100% sure everything I was telling you was correct.  I manually moved the from from A to B.  Chose the <Add> option so that it would be in the Catalog.  Verified it worked, it was in the catalog.  I then went back to try the <Copy>, and it withed with both the JPGs and MOVs files.  LR4 copied the files form A to B and did the Catalog import.
    Go Figure.

  • Copy a file into multiple folders action

    Hello All,
    I'm looking for help with a seemingly difficult action; I want to copy a text file into every folder within a location, if its not already there.
    I have over 100 projects ready to go out, and need to add a copyright notice .rtf file into each folder. Is there a way I can get Automator to do this? It would save me some time now, and certainly in the future.
    Thanks.

    You should no longer use the utl_file_dir parameter as this has been deprecated by Oracle and replaced with directory objects. Setting the utl_file_dir parameter will leave your file system open to users corrupting files if you are not careful. This parameter should be unset of any value if it has any value set in it and you should set up directory objects instead.
    The correct thing to do is to create a directory object e.g.:
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. You have to do that yourself and ensure that oracle has permission to read/write to that file system directory.
    Then, grant permission to the users who require access e.g....
    GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser;Then use that directory object inside your FOPEN statement e.g.
    fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');Note: You MUST specify the directory object name in quotes and in UPPER case for this to work as it is a string that is referring to a database object name which will have been stored in uppercase by default.

  • Problem while copying two files into same file

    Hi,
    I want to copy n number of files into the same file.I am using the below code for the purpose.
    private void testFiles(){

              ArrayList arrFiles = new ArrayList();
              arrFiles.add(file1);
              arrFiles.add(file2);
              try {
                    fos = new FileOutputStream(file,true);
                   for(int i = 0; i < arrFiles.size();i++){
                        int ReadBytes = 0;

    Hi,
    Just a thought, if you build a sequence of inputstream using SequenceInputStream something like that
                    String file1  = "C:"+File.separator+"test1.doc";
              String file2 = "C:"+File.separator+"test2.doc";
              FileInputStream s1 = new FileInputStream(file1);
              FileInputStream s2 = new FileInputStream(file2);
              FileInputStream[] array = new FileInputStream[2];
              array[0] = s1;
              array[1] = s2;
              EnumerationImpl enumeration = new EnumerationImpl(array);
              SequenceInputStream sequence = new SequenceInputStream(enumeration);
                   //code here the read to go through the sequence of inputstream and write them  into FileOutputStream
    // and your Enumberation implementation class as below
    public class EnumerationImpl implements Enumeration<FileInputStream> {
        private FileInputStream[] array;
        private int index;
        public EnumerationImpl(FileInputStream[] array) {
            this.array = array;
        public boolean hasMoreElements() {
            return index < array.length;
        public FileInputStream nextElement() {
            if (index < array.length) {
                return array[index++];
            throw new NoSuchElementException();

  • Why does Encore copy the file into Cache?

    It seems that Encore will copy the m2v file into ProjectDir/Cache\Media Cache Files\mlf.cache.MACC
    The file is rather large, nearly 4 GB (2gb for each ac3 file).
    I used to run the previous version and I don't think it makes copy in Cache.
    Why does Encore do that?
    Any way to make Encore just use the m2v file directly without copying it into Cache?
    Thanks!

    Same prob for me. Very annoying becuz the program itself is very useful, probably the best dvd menu making system ever but I was tryin to set up an audio dvd wit my own design, prepared sound files like converted them all to ac3 format but every time it is the same, despite deleting cache, the program recreates and doubles these unknown file types of large size taking up irrationally large space. A normal dvd size of 4.7 gbytes to set up would in this case require 50 gbytes or more as I have calculated. More than ten times larger than one dvd. Ridiculous.
    If there's no need for transcode by file format ac3, then why should they time after time be stored in cache mostly taking up double space ? It should be working as cd or dvd write where you're offered two options, either creating an image file on hard disk or on the fly which doesn't take any space of the disk and is more direct.
    So what should I do now ? Look for another program or surrender this one and let it eat up more than 50 gigas ?
    Awful situation is I don't have time to look after programs.
    But I ain't got this amount of disk space either.
    My project must be ready in a few days but no hope for that like this.
    Help me, it's urgent. Thank you.

  • Copying minidisc "files" into iTunes

    I have a lot of personal music files recorded onto minidisc - killer technology at the time but pretty useless now.
    Does anyone know of a way to copy these files, which I believe are strictly "linear" and must be played through unlike than files that can be copied and pasted, into iTunes?

    How about connecting to computer through audio in. Playback minidisc while recording the audio using Audacity. Same process is used when getting cassette tapes into computer.
    How about these.

  • Copying movie files into a presentation

    Hi.
    I have a keynote presentation which includes lots of pictures. When I saved my presentation, I saved it with the option to copy the image files into my presentation document.
    However, I would like to copy some movie files into the presentation as well, but I do not want the movie files to be copied into the keynote presentation document.
    Is there anyway I can do this? If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you very much.

    Keynote ALWAYS copie images into the file (except the theme images from the built-in themes, but it always copies YOUR images into the file). When you first saved it, did you check the box that said copy movies and audio into the file? If you did NOT check this then you're fine. If you did, you might have to make a new file and copy over your slides, then save it and make sure that box is UNCHECKED when you save it the first time.

  • How to copy referenced files into iPhoto library

    I have a mixture of referenced files and copies in my iPhoto library. I changed now the preferences to always copy files when importing new photos. But, how can I copy the old referenced photos into my library (they are all over the place)? Is there anything like "Copy all files to the library"?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    But, how can I copy the old referenced photos into my library (they are all over the place)? Is there anything like "Copy all files to the library"?
    I'm afraid there isn't - you'll need to do it the hard way I'm afraid.
    What might help is to go into the Library/Originals folder and examine the aliases there. Right click on an alias and select 'Show Original' A finder window will pop open with the Original File. Then replace the alias with the original.

  • Help please copying, importing files into Dreamweaver

    Hello,
    I am having trouble imporitng files into dreamweaver from Godady. What is my best route.
    I downloaded Filezilla and connect my ISP, Hosting and passwords and successfuly my files loaded to filezilla.
    I am perplexed at the next step as to how to get my files from FileZilla to Dreamweaver.
    I am connected with the hosting, isp and file server as it shows in the box on the right.
    I simply at the end of the day just want to make a few edits to content.

    You can create a site in DW and download all the files using the "Get" action...
    In DW go to Site > New Site
    Give it a name (and an http address if you want)
    When it asks "Where on your computer do you want to store your files? you can use the default folder it creates, or browse to a specific place
    Next enter in all of your FTP info (like Filezilla)
    Once you're finished, you should be presented with a FILES tab that shows your new empty folder.
    Click the little extension cord plug-in icon on the left of that palette. This will connect to your site. Once connected, you can click the "Get" button, it's the down arrow in the same pallette.
    This will download your entire site to your desktop as it currently exists. From here on out, you just modify your local file, then connect and "Put" the changed files.

    You'll need to read their contents from the original files and then write them out to the new ones. You'll want to use FileInputStream and FileOutputStream.
