Copyopening.dtsx (BPC 7.5)

Hi,
I am trying to find this file to get the SPCOPYOPENING to work but I cannot find it anywhere, not even in APPSHELL. I thought it was supposed to be a standard file?
If not, how can I get the copying of opening balances to work?
Thanks,
Arnold

Hi,
You just need to call the SPCOPYOPENING stored procedure. There is no DTSX file for this. You create your own script with the stored procedure. You can create a new DTSX package for calling this script file.
Hope this helps.

  • Cannot Execute or Modify DM Packages in BPC 7.5 MS

    Hi Experts,
We are implementing BPC 7.5 MS. The IT department has installed SAP BPC 7.5 MS on a heavily secured environment.
    Configuration:
    SAP BPC 7.5 MS SP04
    DB server:          SQL 2008 64-bit
    App server:        32-bit
Client login via local client installation (no citrix/softgrid..)
Iu2019ve tested both ApShell and our test environment configuration and Iu2019m able to:
    Administration
    -         Process ALL dimensions
    -         Process (save) ALL Applications
    -         Full optimize, index defrag, compress ALL applications
    -         Process Security and add new users
    -         Add a new dimension (as a test)
    Interface for Excel
    -         Send Data
    -         Retrieve Data
    -         Access the u2018Interface for the Webu2019 to modify Work Status
The only thing that doesnu2019t work is execute or modify DM packages. The systems comes up with an 'exception error' and refers to the new BPC 7.5 log table, which gives me the following error:

    Enric,
The problem was that we only installed Business Development Studio and Integration Services on the DB-server. After we installed the components on the (front-end) Webserver and registered the DLL's on both the front-end and back-end server, the problem was solved.
See the link below for more information on registering the DLL's via Business Development Studio (we did not use regsvr32).

  • BPC 7.5 MS Migration From 7.0 MS

    Hello Experts,
We have installed new full install 7.5 MS ( Windows 2008/SQL 8) .
This is our test system and we want to know if we can migrate our existing 7.0 MS (2003/ SQL 8) to this new installation.
The upgrade document has Chapter 4 - Migrate Application Sets from 7.0, is it ok to follow the steps.
    Procedure:
    1.
In the Administration Console, choose Modify Application, without selecting any options. This applies several fixes related to business rules and send governor.
If the application status is "not processed", choose Modify Application, and select all options. To check the application status for an application, choose View application set statistics in the Manage Application Sets action pane.
    NOTE
This is only relevant if you are installing Planning and Consolidation 7.5 SP01 or later.
If the regional language option of your Planning and Consolidation server is not English (for example, French, or German), choose Modify Application with the Process Application checkbox selected. This changes the application language property to English to overcome a conflict in decimal values.
    2.
A new parameter for validating business rules has been added to the SPRUNELIM, SPICDATA, and SPICBOOKING stored procedures. You must update each logic file that calls one or more of these stored procedures by doing the following:
    1.
Log on to the Administration Console.
    2.
Expand Manage Logic Library, and open a logic file (such as Consolidation_Library.lgl) that call one or more of the three stored procedures.
    3.
Add the [%SCOPETABLE%] parameter to each statement that calls each of the stored procedures.
    4.
Validate and save the logic file.
4 Migrate Application Sets from 7.0
    2010-11-25 PUBLIC 13/24
    5.
Repeat steps 2–4 for each logic file that calls at least one of the stored procedures.
For more information about the new stored procedure, see SAP Note 1374381.
    3.
Copy AuditClear.dts and AuditRestore.dts from the previous version of ApShell to your application sets after installing Planning and Consolidation 7.5. See SAP Notes 1355574 and 1357279.
    Copy from:\\<FileServer>\..\WebFolders\ApShell\Planning\DataManager\PackageFiles\Examples
    Copy to:\\<FileServer>\..\WebFolders\<Application Set>\<Application>\DataManager\PackageFiles\Examples.
    4.
If you already have By User security reports, update existing reports by choosing the Publish By User report in Web Administration. See SAP Note 1365430.
    5.
If you have a SQL Server 2005 environment, copy Copy from fact table.dtsx from ApShell to your application sets. See SAP Note 1365446.
    Copy from:\\<FileServer>\..\WebFolders\ApShell\Planning\DataManager\PackageFiles\Examples
    Copy to:\\<FileServer>\..\WebFolders\<AppSet>\<App>\DataManager\PackageFiles\Examples
    6.
Planning and Consolidation 7.5 has new tasks. To apply the new tasks, go to the Admin console and run Modify Task Profile without any changes to the existing task profile (reprocess), or create new task profiles for each task and assign appropriate users. See SAP Note 1382583.
If you choose to reprocess existing task profiles:nTÍät
If the task profile type is System Admin, the OfflineAccess task is applied.nTÍät
If the task profile type is Primary Admin, the RemoveBPFInstances, ResetBPFInstances, and ManageEVDREDefaultStyle tasks are applied.nTÍät
The administrator must add the ReOpenBPFStep and PackageExecute tasks to the appropriate task profile.
    7.
The ApShell in 7.5 includes the Import SQL or Import SQL into Fact packages that prompt you to enter the SQL database. (In versions 5.1 and 7.0, the prompt was missing.)
To apply the packages, copy the packages from ApShell to your application after upgrading to 7.5. Then modify the package script for your application dimensions.
    Copy from:<FileServer>\WebFolders\ApShell\Planning\DataMnager\PackageFiles\Examples
    Copy to:<FileServer>\WebFolders\<AppSet>\<App>\DataMnager\PackageFiles\Examples
4 Migrate Application Sets from 7.0
    14/24 PUBLIC 2010-11-25
    See SAP Note 1355877.
    8.
In Planning and Consolidation 7.5, dynamic reports and schedules are provided in EvDRE format. They work in any application. If you want to use new dynamic reports and schedules templates, copy the changed templates from the following location:\\<FileServer>\..\WebFolders\ApShell\Planning\eExcel\Input Schedules (and Reports)\Wizard
For more information about ApShell, see SAP Note 1349656.
    9.
If an application set has a custom OLAP partition, you must re-create the partition after restoring the application set (see SAP Note 1395795).
    NOTE
The following actions no longer require you to select Process Application when modifying an application (see SAP Note 1284857):!ì,ŠÍQ
    Applying the SIGNED_DATA_FORMAT application parameter!ì,ŠÍQ
Applying newly created or modified stored procedures
4 Migrate Application Sets from 7.0
    2010-
Please let us know if we are missing any steps here.
    Best Regards,
    Kannan.M

    Hi Raoul,
    1. Your understanding is correct.
I dont see any big advantage of installing a separate BI system. However, if you have the BPS or BCS components activated in the exisitng BI system, then you wont be able to install BPC. BPC requires EHP to be installed. But this cannot be installed if BPS component is there. So, in that case, you need to consider a new BI system. Apart from that, I dont see any reason for having a new BI system.
    2. In terms of migration, there are few things which you can definitely copy without using the migration tool. For example, when you are trying to create a new dimension and its members. The members from MS can be copied into the NW admin console and then the processing can be done to create the requisite structures at backend. Similarly, you can copy the existing reports and input schedules as well. You can even copy the data. You can export the data from the applications in the MS version. Then use the import DM to upload the data flat file into NW.
    Hope this helps.

  • Loading Chart of Accounts from SAP into Account dim in BPC automatically

    Hi,
for my client I would like to take a predefined flat file from SAP containing chart of account details (account id, description and parent) and load and  process them automatically using dtsx packages in BPC 7.0 MS.
Also, I want the package to able to be able to change details when it finds an already existing account id (e.g. if the description changes) and only for the properties contained in the flat file (i.e. keep the property values the same in BPC for those properties which are not in the extract for existing account records), or to add new accounts for those that don't exist.  I don't want the existing dimension completely replaced, as the SAP file won't contain info for fields like ACCTYPE, or TYPEELIM for example.
I find the help in Data Manager extremely confusing and am not sure which bits are current or have been superceeded.
I am an application consultant with limited knowledge of DTS/ SSIS and I wonder if someone can give me a step by step detail of  what I must do to achieve this. I am sure that many people would like to do something similar.
    regards
    Scott.

Here is what you need to do in the SSIS package.
    1. You need to create exactly same structure as MBRAccount Table. Let's say tmpMBRAccount
    2. Export Account data from SAP as FlatFile
    3. You need a Script to fill in ACCTYPE or other properties that doesn't exist in SAP but mandatory for BPC account dimension. This script will change exported Flatfile.
    4. Import step3 flatfile into tmpMBRAccount table.
Some users import data into MBRtable directly but it is not good because if error happens,
there is no way to roll back until restore table from backup database.
If users use temporary table as we do, Admin task will backup and roll back if error happens.
    5. Run Admintask and point tmpMBRAccount table as source table.
    6. You need another script to update Excel member sheet from updated mbr table.
If you don't have this script, data member will be inconsistent between excel member sheet and MBR table.
Some customer add more steps to validate members or error handling.
If you are not an expert of SSIS, I think you need a technical consultant for doing this.
There are an example package in BPC sample package folder but it is very basic one.
    Thank you.

  • What is it supported in BPC about SSIS pkg

I have some problems implementing SSIS dtsx for BPC.
A package with a sequenct container, or with a user variable to use to setting a property, or with a task to call another dtsx doesn't function!.
Does exist any technical documentation (not a user guide, please!) that describes what it is supported in BPC about SSIS dtsx?
    Many thanks.

    Craig,
You can do Partition in AS DB.
There was a bug in AS that didn't keep partititon information but it was fixed.
    Please try it.
Also you can find How to document in here.

  • Call functions in BPC NW

    Hi
    Version - BPC NW 7.0.02
    I'm using the function COPYOPENING:
    *RUN_PROGRAM COPYOPENING
      CATEGORY = %HT_CATEGORY_SET%
      CURRENCY = %HT_RPTCURRENCY_SET%
      TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
    *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
I have created a specific script for this function and now I would like to call the function from default.lgf.
I have added the following to default.lgf:
    *include movement.lgf
    [HT_ACCOUNT].[8000]= movement(2010)
I try to calculate the movement for account '2010' and place it on the account '8000'.
No error is returned, but the number is not calculated/placed on account '8000'.
I'm not sure if I call the function or select the receiving account correct. Can anyone guide me?
    /Lars

I'm using account transformation instead. problem solved.

  • Multiple SQL Queries in SAP BPC  5.1 EVMODIFY

    Hi All,
We have multiple SQL Queries in Outlooksoft 4.2 which extracts data from Oracle source system with different set of selections and conditions and parameters. We were able to use multiple SQL Queries in Outlooksoft 4.2 using Transform Data Flow Task and paste parameters using evModify dynamic script task, where ever extract to source system is needed.
According to  SAP BPC 5.1, all these multiple SQL Queries and extracts by passing parameters will be coded in EVMODIFY dynamic script editor. But, EVMODIFY dynamic script editor is not working with the sets of multiple SQL Queris. It's able to recognize and execute the first SQL Query, but not able to execute from the second SQL Query.
Does any body, did multiple extracts using SQL Queries to the source system by passing parameters using SAP BPC 5.1 data  manager and SSIS Packages, please let me know, how you did achieve the above functionality.

  • BCF Balance Carry-Forward CopyOpening and scoping

    Dear Experts,
We are running on BPC NW10. We are using standard DM package and logic script + BCF business rules to run BCF process. Everything works fine but now we would like to create alternative BCF process for some group of accounts. We defined Business Rules for the alternative BCF process but the problem is when we run it at the same time other Business Rules, defined for our primary BCF process execute ( we do not want them to execute).
    Thus my questions are:
Can we use scoping (*XDIM_MEMBERSET) in the logic script before *RUN_PROGRAM COPYOPENING (for instance for ACCOUNT dimension members) in order to restrict BCF process to selected account and thus restrict execution of the BCF Business Rules?
    Any help much appreciated:)
    Marek

    Hi Marek,
    Try the following:
    *RUN_PROGRAM COPYOPENING
    CATEGORY = %C_CATEGORY_SET%
    CURRENCY = %GROUPS_SET%
    TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
    OTHER = [ACCOUNT=%ACCOUNT_SET%]
    *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
Where ACCOUNT in the OTHER line is the real account dimension name.

  • Execute Optimize Outside of SAP BPC

    Hi Guys,
I am at a client that would like their internal IT people to be able to optimize applications without having access to the SAP BPC data for governance reasons. We are having heavy performance issues due to the fact that the WB tables are growing too quickly.
Would they be able to use the Admin_Task in their own SSIS package, modify the package to perform a lite optimize and execute the package via a trigger (when the WB table reach a certain record count)?
Would they require admin access to the system for this package to work? Has anyone set up a solution like this before.
If this would not work, what do you suggest?
    Regards,
    Andries van den Berg

    Andries,
Why don't you schedule the optimisation.
SAP provide both DTS and DTSX packages which can be used to optimise the application as you desire.  I use them myself.  through the data manager I created a scheduled task to run every 4 hours and run a lite optimization if there is above a certain threshold of records in the write back table.
From your description this would meet your needs.  It creates a scheduled task that is run by the servers schedule process. This task could probably be used by your IT to run the process on an ad hoc basis.
Doing it this way means that IT does not need to get involved, and it runs as a back ground process.  The running of the optimisation appears in the DTS log within the application where it is set up.

    Mark

  • Modifying dynamic paramters in dtsx package

    Dear friends,
I am new to BPC and using BPC 5.1 MS (SQL 2005). There are four dimensions  in my existing dtsx package for the user to select the values as dynamic parameters.  I like to edit this dtsx package and add new dimensions for the user to select . Eg. Time dimension. I tried to edit the script and appended the new dimension names in the existing line of code in Data Manager-->Advance button. It was saved, but while executing the script, only the new dimension name is displayed in the parameter selection screen. Could you please help me by listing the procedure for editing script and adding new dimensions.
    Thanks
    Roy S

    Dear Nilanjan,
My existing script is as follows
    'DEBUG(ON)
PROMPT(RADIOBUTTON,%CHEKCLCK%,"Select whether to check work status settings when running logic.",1,{"Yes, check for work status settings before running logic","No, do not check work status settings"},{"1","0"})
PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,"Please select Ctegory, Entity, Time and Currency for restatement",%CATEGORY%%ENTITY%%TIME%%CURRENCY%)

    TASK(Execute formulas,LOGICFILE,%APPPATH%\..\AdminApp\%APP%\Calculate Revenue.lgx)
    TASK(Execute formulas,RUNMODE,1)
    TASK(Execute formulas,LOGICMODE,1)
    TASK(Execute formulas,CHECKLCK,%CHEKCLCK%)
    I want to add a custom dimension viz. "PUBLICATION" to the PROMPT statement as follows;
I tried in different ways as given below, but everything failed.
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,,"%CATEGORY%,%ENTITY%,%TIME%,%CURRENCY%,PUBLICATION")
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,,%CATEGORY%%ENTITY%%TIME%%CURRENCY%PUBLICATION)
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,,"CATEGORY,ENTITY,TIME,CURRENCY,PUBLICATION")
Would you please look into it.

  • Z_IMPORT_MASTER_DATA_LOAD fails after upgrade to BPC 7.5

    Hi,
After an upgrade from BPC 7.0 (for NW) to BPC 7.5, the process chain Z_IMPORT_MASTER_DATA_LOAD fails. This is a standard process chain and we have used it to import Employee-masterdata from BW to BPC. This has been working perfectly fine for a long time, but after the upgrade it fails with the error message: u201CJob or process BPCMALDNW, waiting for event RSPROCESS D5PUFX4O5T78XRI7YVDC1LGBL is unknownu201D. Details of the error message are:
Job or process BPCMALDNW, waiting for event RSPROCESS D5PUFX4O5T78XRI7YVDC1LGBL is unknown
    Message no. RSPC002
    Diagnosis
Job BPCMALDNW has been started because of event RSPROCESS D5PUFX4O5T78XRI7YVDC1LGBL. This job is not, however, known in the active version of the process chain.
    System Response
    The job has been terminated.
It is the variants u201CClear BPC tablesu201D and u201CConvertu201D that fail, but they do not give any error message that makes sense.
Does anyone know what is causing this problem? Can the process chain not be used in BPC 7.0 and do we have to use the process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_MASTER instead?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best Regards,
    Linda Solberg

    Hi Rohit,
Yes you will need to re-create your custom packages. Please see Note 1294591 - Support SQL 2008 (DM):
    [Addtional Info]
If you need to upgrade SQL 2005 dtsx packages to SQL 2008, customized packages must be created in SQL 2008 BIDS(Business Intelligence Development Studio). The steps are the same with SQL 2005. To do this, you should copy BPC Task DLLs for SQL 2008 to Tasks folder under SQL 2008 BIDS installation folder
If you use packages provided from ApShell, you can copy packages from ApShell instead created in SQL 2008 BIDS after upgrading to SQL 2008.
*Note: you should modify package as your application structure such as dimension when you copy package from an application to others and, between the applications, the structure are different.
Also, for information on migration steps to apply to support packages before SP01, see the Planning and Consolidation 7.5 M Upgrade Guide, available on SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/instguidesEPM-BPC > 7.5, version for the Microsoft platform.
    Thanks

  • Upgrade BPC 7.5 SP3 MS

    Hi,
We have BPC5.1 SP11 on SQL Server 2005 and we want to upgrade to BPC 7.5 SP3 on SQL Server 2008.
Is there a SAP guide with all the steps necessary to be done to migrate an appset from 5.1 to 7.5?
I find something on Upgrade Guide 7M.pdf and SAP_BPC_70_SP04_M_Install.pdf, but this is for BPC 7.0.
For BPC 7.5 is there an official SAP guide? Are the migration steps the same?
    thanks
    best regards
    massimo

Massimo - The SAP website uses javascript so it is difficult to get an accurate direct link to any specific page.  Click on patrick's link and then navigate to version 7.5 MS on your left pane.  Then you should be able to see the 7.5M guides.
However, I'm noting that the guides are incomplete - for example, there is no Office or Admin guides for BPC 7.5 listed.
Does anyone know why?  Here are the guides listed for 7.5 Microsoft version:
SBOP Plan & Consol - CopyOpening Guide
SBOP Plan & Consol - Currency Conversion Guide
SBOP Plan & Consol - Intercompany Matching Guide
SBOP Plan & Consol 7.5 M Installation Guide

  • *Error executing SSIS Package from BPC 5.1*

    All -
I'm trying to execute a perfectly working SSIS package from BPC 5.1. When I execute the package it instantly completes executing (Failure) with nothin written to the Log file.
After doing further analysis, we have found the root cause to be "Sequence Containers" in SSIS Packages. We can execute the same package if we remove the sequence container.
When we try to edit the SSIS package via BPC, containing the Sequence Containers", we receive the following error:
[QuerytoServer] An error occurred while getting a package information. System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Sequence' to type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.TaskHost' at Osoft.Services.Application.DataMgr.PackageExecute.DTSX.GetPackageInfor()
When we try to edit SSIS packages via BPC, containing NO Sequence Containers", everything is wonderful.
Does anyone have any suggestions, besides removing all of the Sequence Containers and moving the tasks to the base SSIS package level?
I trully appreciate any help you guys can provide.

    Hi Lars,
Could you be more specific the step you did?
    1. It works fine in Visual Studio,
    2. It is not working with Excel Front-end. Call the package from Excel.
    3. It worked few days ago, ==> Do you mean it was working with #2 step?
I think this might be caused by authentication,
    1. could you check your athentication you have for #1 and #2?
    2. Did you introduce BPC DM to call the package? BPC DM uses impersonated ID even you use ID which has restrictive to use system resource, there will be no problem for the authentication.
    3. As you see the log, it points FLOW task and OLEDB SOURCE, check your connection string in OLEDB SOURCE also.
    Hope this helps,

  • Training for BPC

    Hello Fellows,
I am a sales consultant positioning BPC at many places, furthermore, I am also planning to get training for BPC. I am pretty confused at the moment with the following queries in mind:
Is BPC a technical (programming type) side of SAP?
Does one have to have a strong technical background?
To what extent does BPC differ from BOBJ?
What would be a more reliable side of choice, BPC or BOBJ?
I would be heartily grateful if someone could come out of the shadow and shed some light on the aforementioned queries. Furthermore, it would be really helpful if someone could share few brochures about BPC.

    Hi Nauman,
BPC it's a sw normally used for consolidation, planning, budgeting and cost allocation.
First of all there are 2 different versions, MS based on MS SQL server (i.e. also stored procedures, dtsx packages etc.) and NW integrated in Netweaver platform (connected with BW) without stor. proc. dtsx, but with badi functions.
Is BPC a technical (programming type) side of SAP?
yes you have funtions, components, etc to connect your excel report or input schedules with a database and also logic script, MDX, badi, etc.
Does one have to have a strong technical background?
if you want to build a new project then yes, if you want only create or change some reports then no.
To what extent does BPC differ from BOBJ?
sorry I don't know BO but as I know this is just useful for reports probably powerful then bpc so if you want you can integrate it when you create some special reports.
What would be a more reliable side of choice, BPC or BOBJ?
probably if you work with BPC could be better to study it but it's more difficult then BOBJ, you need more time to know it.
I would be heartily grateful if someone could come out of the shadow and shed some light on the aforementioned queries. Furthermore, it would be really helpful if someone could share few brochures about BPC.
first of all if you decide to study BPC you can see the modules you need for a SAP certification

  • BPC Update from SP04 to SP07

    Hello,
we are currently running BPC 7.0 MS on SP04. We tried to update the system to SP07 and it went fine, but we have doubts, that the now installed version is SP07. The Update Package shows the in the version.ini the number 116, which represents the SP07. But our system shows after the upgrade the version 115, which represents SP06. According to the official migration informations there should be some changes in several datamanager packages, i.e. AuditClear.dts, AuditRestore.dts or Copy from fact table.dtsx. But, these packages didn't change from SP04.
So, there are any differences between SP06 and SP07 out there to distinguish both versions and to make sure, we got the right version? We are not able to find any and SAP Note 1414584 is not very helpfull to us.
    Ty for help.

After upgrading the server, you have to then upgrade your application set.
    Some of the processes are:
save each application with no check boxes selected
copy apshell data manager packages to your application set.
among other steps outlined in the documentation.
So your updates DM packages are there, but only in Apshell at this point.
You should also make sure you have the auto update feature in server manager turned on so that clients are warned that they need to update their client software. It is important to keep the server and client at the same version level.
