Corporate VPN no longer works on WRT310N
I had a WRT54G router installed and my corporate VPN worked fine. I gave that one to a relative, replacing it with a WRT310N, which comes with "all" of the VPN settings enabled. I tried the corporate VPN, and it worked for about 10 minutes. Now, I cannot connect at all. My company did not change anything, co-workers can connect through their home networks. Other computers on my network have no issues getting out to the network. Any ideas as to what I should be looking for?
Thanks
Login to the router's setup page and click on Security tab, uncheck "Filter Anonymous Internet Requests" and click on save settings...Click on subtab VPN Passthrough and check L2TP Passthrough if you have opened the ports on the router.

Ever since i downloaded OSX Mountain Lion, Express VPN no longer works properly for me. Even though it says I am connected, webpages refuse to load. However, connection speed is fine when its turned off. I cannot go on many websites without the VPN. My current location is Shanghai, China. OSX Mountain was installed this morning and everything worked fine until then. Is Express VPN not supported? What do i need to do in order to get it working again on my Macbook Pro (early 2011). I want to be able to go on websites such as Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, ect...
Hi,
I am having the same issue listed above on my new Mac Mini i just bought, I also contacted Express VPN support and got the same instructions with exception of the command to run in the utilities terminal. I tried the steps listed, and both commands (posted here, and sent to me directly by Express VPN support), and still unable to connect on my Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.2, but I am able to connect on my iPad and my MacBook which is running Mac OS X 10.6.8. Usually Express VPN is spot on with their customer support, but this is taking longer to get resolved. Here is the steps sent to me
Try doing the following to see if the problem gets resolved:
Please follow the instructions here: https://www.expressvpn.org/support/setting_dns_servers_mac_os
(should still be the same for Lion) and then add the following DNS servers: 8.8.8.8 & 208.67.222.220. After adding the DNS servers, please do the following steps as well:
Note: If you're connecting to your ISP via a PPPoE connection, then set the DNS servers on the PPPoE connection itself and then restart your computer for the DNS settings to take effect.
1. Click on Applications
2. Click on Utilities
3. Click on Terminal
4. Type the following command (without the quotes): "sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder"
5. Press enter and then try reconnecting to the VPN.
If you're still unable to connect, please send us in the latest log files.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes. -
My cisco vpn no longer works with Lion
After installing Lion, my cisco vpn no longer works. If I force boot in 32 bit mode it works fine, so appears to be a cisco client issue. Does anyone know if CISCO is working on 64bit client compatible with Lion?
Not sure this answer helps me or anyone else. My VPN connection no longer works in Lion. How do I re-set the parameters of my VPN connection to work in Lion?
Below is what my VPN screen look like: -
VPN no longer working after upgrade to Mountain Lion
After upgrading to Snow Leopard, the Cisco VPN client stopped working. This was due to the fact it ran in 64-bit, but SL allowed you to switch to 32bit which then the app still worked.
You also had the choice of using the MacOS 'VPN' program, but it always disconnected quite often for me.
After the upgrade, the Cisco VPN client no longer works at all, I assume again due to the fact 32bit is no longer around, however the Mac VPN client no longer works either. It will connect, however no traffic goes over the VPN (it gets blackholed) rendering it useless.
I have this behavior on multiple Macs, so I'm not sure if this is a known issue, or if the Mac VPN client no longer plays nice with the Cisco ASA firewalls? It appears that ML no longer supports 32bit applications at all.
Therefore, you have 2 options:
1) Use the built in VPN client, you will need your IT's help for this as it requires the group name and password of your VPN server. You can configure it by going to System Preferences -> Network and 'adding' an VPN (Cisco IPSec) interface. I haven't had much luck with it, it works sometimes and sometimes it fails, but other people swear by it.
2) Move over to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client, which does support 64bit. This will also require your IT department as they need to configure the SSL/AnyConnect VPN on the VPN device itself. I went to this method yesterday and it's worked out great so far. -
Corporate Sync no longer works
I recently upgraded my phone to run gingerbread, and now corporate email doesn't work. I've tried hard reseting my phone, and even factory reset it. I've also tried to uninstall and reinstall the corporate email account a number of times, but nothing has helped.
I can set up the corporate email without any problmes, but when I try to view messages I get an account error and a connection error.First of all, Welcome. And SEARCH is your friend here in this forum - just enter "corp sync" in the search box up above. Most issues you will encounter have already been discussed.

Upgrading to Lion server has been a bit frustrating to say the least!
I had VPN working and with the upgrade it has stopped. I hope someone can help with my setup. It has worked before.
Here is my setup.
I have an internet router provided by my ISP. The firewall is turned off, but I have Ipsec passthrough enabled.
Apple Airport extreme in bridge-mode to which my server is connected by ethernet and other clients by wireless.
Server firewall is turned on with the vpn ports open via Server Admin app
vpn service activated.
user is setup for vpn service
This setup has worked before the upgrade.
With the firewall on or off, I get the same error message: vpn server did not respond. I am testing this from my iphone's 3G connection which has worked before, so it is not my carrier's problem.
Somehow I suspect my server has a firewall problem.
Another problem I have since the upgrade and which may be related to this issue is that I can no longer use airplay to stream music from my server to an airport express with the firewall enabled. When it is turned off, the server streams music without a hitch. I have opened all the ports for airplay to work, have ticked them, unticked them and reticked them, but to no avail.
This last problem has led me to think that the vpn issue is a firewall issue has the ports seem open, just as the airplay ports seem open, but are apparently not.
Can any one offer any help with this?
Thanks for your time.

VPN no longer working iPhone 5, possibly related to carrier settings 15.6
Based in the UK on the Three Network. Use my iphone's hotspot feature for internet at home. Use VPN for security and safety, using the OpenVPN protocol on my mac and pc. Since the 15.6 carrier update (4G), I have been able to connect to the VPN, but lose all internet connectivity, using OpenVPN, L2TP or even PPTP.
VPN service provider has been helpful and can find no issue on their end, and believe it is most likely due to the ISP. ISP states it might be a iphone software problem. All my software is up to date. To be clear, when using my phone as a modem, i am no longer able to access the internet via VPN using any protocol.
I am also unable to access my VPN on my mobile using L2TP or PPTP (less of an issue)
Is anyone else having this issue? Any known cures?
Many Thanks.Thank you for your reply. What I didn't mention was that I have spent days googling to find an solution. I have tried most alternatives suggested to no avail. My problem is quite technical and most probably has a very specific and simple solution related to my router (set ABC to 123XY). All alternatives ended, "if this doesn't work contact the supplier". So I have - Apple (here), Epson, TP-Link and my ISP. When (if?) I find a solution I'll post it here for others to learn from.

VPN no longer working after iOS 8.0.2 upgrade. Anyone having same issue?
Since I upgraded to iOS 8.0.2, the PPTP VPN configurations no longer connect. I deleted and re-created the settings, but this did not solve the problem. Is there a way of fixing this?
Yes, same problem here. Tested on both 8.0 and 8.0.2. VPN will connect but will not pass traffic from the idevice into the network. I am able to ping the device from inside of my network to its VPN IP address. However, I am not able to get to any internal resources from the device. I have done some of the troubleshooting that is posted above with no success. I have rebooted the device, reset network settings, and I have reset the entire device. I'm testing on an iPhone 5 and an iPad2. I also have an iPhone 4s here that is still on IOS 7 that has a working VPN and can connect to all internal resources as normal. I contacted Apple support yesterday and after speaking with 2-3 people, all of whom acted like this was the first VPN issue they had ever heard about, I was told that a "Senior Support Agent" would contact me back. Right now I have 5 users affected by this issue. Those 5 people will have new Android devices before the End of the day. I have sent an email to the other 60+ IOS users instructing them NOT to update their device until the VPN issue is resolved. I will post any findings here including the phone number and extension of the Apple Support Personnel that I spoke with yesterday if I do not get contacted in a timely fashion. I can understand that a mistake has been made, but this issue is wide-spread and needs to be addressed.

VPN no longer working from MAC (Windows works)
Greetings,
after a few months our vpn stopped working when trying to connect with a
Mac using PPTP. Windows still works like a charm, though. When browsing the
log files (on server and client), I see that both machines send several
LCP_ConfReq packets, but neither machine sends a ConfAck or a ConfNack, and
after several packets, the client drops the connection.
I am 100% certain that I didn't change the configuration on either computer,
and it did work two or three months ago.
Can anybody point me to some clues?

Upgraded a working, VPN-connected DTU to the 4.2 RR firmware. We are attempting to connect to an existing (working!) SRSS 4.1 server. This combination is working on the LAN but not via VPN from a WAN connection. Watching the OSD, PH I seems to succeed and move on to PH II which seems like it might have succeeded but the DTU resets too quickly to tell for sure. The only thing we notice in the setting is the new (?) Session Timeout setting which apparently defaults to zero.
Any suggestions, RTFM's, etc would be greatly appreciated as we have quite a number of DTUs using the VPN connection that need to be upgraded.
Additional information:
Does not work: GUI4.2_77_2009.10.19.17.01 (downloaded today)
Works: GUI4.2_17_2009.06.24.11.48 (EA I believe)
Firmware update happened over DSL remote successfully without errors.
Edited by: ArtPeck on Nov 19, 2009 1:13 PMYes, I see this too on one site: It works ok with the 4.2 EA2 firmware but fails without passing any data packets (according to the Cisco) instantly the VPN is set up.
To a different site however, the same firmware combination is ok.

Upgraded router VPN no longer working - LCP: timeout sending Config-Request
I recently upgraded my small office router from a Linksys WRT54G to a Linksys WRT610N. I duplicated all of the port forwarding configs from my previous router, but everytime I try to connect to my server I get the following error:

The ports I have forwarded to my server are the following:

While I am connecting I have been watching the log from Server Admin, and this is what I see:

Thanks!
ScottI am having sever issues with routers vs. VPN and I am hoping someone here can tell me how they got PPTP and L2TP working through the Apple Airport Extreme.
Basically, I used to have a cheap, old, but perfectly working Linksys router. I opened ports for PPTP and L2TP pass through and VPN worked fine. I decided to upgrade the router because I wanted something with basic firewall functionality...
I tried two new linksys products and gave up in disgust. Then I thought I had a brainwave and ordered the Apple Extreme Base Station. Well, this is almost as hopeless.
I can get PPTP to connect now but the remote clients can't connect to the AFP server. L2TP simply won't work. I have 1701, 500, 1723 and 4500 ports forwarded to my server so I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Also, I see on Apple's Server page that the Server will set up the Apple Extreme Base Station automatically??? How does this work?
Lastly, Do I want to enable NAT port mapping protocol?
Thank you,

I Can't make my VPN work on my ipad 4 generation again can some one help me to make it work again step my step
thanks hope hear from someone soonI have a huge problem with my 27" iMac and VPN, since Mavericks.
I always used it and it worked perfectly for years. Since Mavs, when I am connected to VPN, I will get a little snitch message come up asking if any one of many apple processes (icloud helper, assistand just examples). No matter what I click, allow or deny, the machine instantly crashes and power recycles. It comes up with the white screen "your computer restarted because of a problem" and then boots up.
It is losing me a lot of data each time, and is very worrying to see the machine just die in an heartbeat like that.
Anyone know if this is the same issue you are speaking about on this thread? I need a fix, basically VPN is off limits to me now as i can't risk data loss and corruptions. It happens every time i get the LS message pop up. any advice greatly appreciated. -
VPN no longer working after iOS 8.0.2 upgrade
Hello, after the upgrade to iOS 8.0.2 we have some problems with VPN.
The connection runs always stable and we don't change anything on our infrastructure.
But since the upgrade the IPads/Phones always show the notification "could not connect the server"or else.
This could not be true. The server is available from other clients (not ios). We test it with Wlan and 3G like always before.
I heard that we should delete the VPN profile and create it new on the ipad but it don't solve the problem.
We use IPSEK with IKEv1 and a PSK.
Are there any changes on the ios VPN client??!
I hope you can help me.

Cisco VPN no longer works - on 2 machines
Hello all -
I had been successfully running Cisco VPN 4.9.01 (0030) to connect to my work computer from 2 Macs at home after freshly installing Leopard on both of them, but now I cannot connect from either Mac. I also tried installing 4.9.01 (0080) but run in to the same problem. As far as I can tell, it stopped working on Wednesday night or Thursday morning - but I don't recall any software updates that might have caused the problem. My IT people assure me that it should work...
Anyone having a similar issue?
Thanks in advance!
JustinThe issue was with my tech department after all...

Cisco VPN no longer works with the E4200
VPN issue with the E4200. Validated that VPN passthrough is enabled. Using Cisco VPN as the client. Used to work prior to the firmware upgrade so not sure what has changed. Error code on the Cisco VPN client is "Secure VPN connection terminated by local client. Reason 414. Failed to establish a TCP connection."
Any help would be appreciated.Hi all,
i just had time to to a network capture
The ip have been changed but btw :
- 172.20.10.2 = A computer conntect to internet that will try to reach the vpn server behind the E4200
- 77.56.226.107 = The internet valid ip address of the Linksys E4200 router.
So below is the proof that GRE protocol is not forwarded/passing the router.
Frames 29/30/31 : Standard TCP/IP communication intialization. SYN, SNY ACK, ACK....
Frames 32/34/36/37/38/39 : initialization of pp2p using port 1723
Frame 43 : ACK of 39
Frames 40,52,67,80... Request send using protocol 47 GRE... and the server not responding as the router blocks them...
No.
