Correct learning path to OBIEE consultant working profile

Hello.
I' m a OCP DBA planning to migrate to OBIIE field.
I need some suggestions on the preferred/suggested learning path for this working skill "profile".
Some alternatives.
i)
*consolidation of PL/SQL skill (i.e. obtaining 1z0-047 certification)
study to take 1z0-515 *Oracle Database 11g Data Warehousing Essentials**
study to take 1z0-526 *Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Essentials**
ii)
*STRONG consolidation of PL/SQL in developer perspective (i.e to take 1z0-147/1z0-144 or eventually also 1z0-141)
study to take 1z0-515 *Oracle Database 11g Data Warehousing Essentials**
study to take 1z0-526 *Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Essentials**
Some suggestions about it?

EAM consultant -Work profile queries

Hi ,
I am aware it is bit off road question . But I felt it is right to ask here, as we have expert EAM consultants here who have seen various phases of consulting . My questions are as under
When you join a consulting company,depending on position offered in EAM consulting , company expects that you are billed atleat 180 Days a year etc ... My questions are
     a)Are there sufficient new EAM projects to cater this need ? . SAP is now more than 14 Yeras old and maximum companies must have already gone live in PM .
               1) If it is so then what is future of PM consultant ?
               2)Does he have to aquire new skills ? If yes Which new skills are better for him ?
               3)If new project implementations are less , What kind of projects/jobs he has to undertake ?
Now a days I see SD/PP consultants are learning SCM .. In similar way what is road map for EAM consultant ?

Learning path subscription status

We are currently creating a number of learning paths to appear in the catalogue (i.e. not ones belonging to individual learners).
It appears that learning path subscription status is limited to active, cancelled or completed. This means that there is no differentiation between a learner who has been placed (but not yet attended) on a course and one who has not been placed, as both still appear in the learning path as active. Is there a way of creating an additional learning path status to provide this differentiation?
At the moment, the learning path status automatically updates to 'completed' once someone has attended the relevant course/s. Could the status automatically update to the new option once a learner has been placed on a course?

When you create the Learning Path in the catalogue, you have to create at least one component (course).
When the learner is subscribed into the LP, the status will immediately appear as 'active'. This is indicating that the learning path is now 'active' for this learner. I do not think you can alter this without some sort of customisation.
You have to drill down to the component (course) level to see whether the learner is 'enrolled' in the class or not. This is how the product is intended to work.
Probably not the answer you wanted, but I believe this is correct!

Hi Mike:
I see your concern.
BO is primarily a front end tool and it is simple to learn. So new developers can pick it up easily and start delivering business needs quickly.
In fact I believe front end tools these days are so user friendly that even Business Users can learn fast and adapt and get really good at it.
I think learning and understanding the back end data warehousing tools with specialized skills in Data Modeling and ETL will be extra added value to employers in today's market. Plus Interpersonal skills and interfacing with business users is not a function that can be easily outsourced.
If you already have expertise in Bus Intelligence, I would recommend staying in BI and learning the back end tools. Learning Other SAP modules should supplement your BI skills and not to replace your BI focus.
BI as an Industry is still evolving and growing. Plenty of room to grow. BI can deliver business critical decision support.
Knowledge of Business Intelligence functions (Functional knowledge) will come in especially handy for employers when designing back end (data modeling) and suggesting the right course of action for designing back end. Your existing front end knowledge will be a great help for data modeling recommendations.
I am actually pursuing a second MS in ERP at http://dce.mst.edu/. I take classes on line since i live 100 miles from the university. I sometimes am busy at work and cannot attend live classes. So i listen to the recordings after work hours and do my assignments and tests and exams after hours as well.
The best thing about being in school, is i switch to learning mode and set aside my past experience and become a student willing to learn from the professor and the other students.

I personally see a need in the Industry for highly engineered BI Solutions. Quiet a few SAP Clients today have experienced not so well engineered BI solutions from less skilled BI resources leading to poor performance and poor user adoption.
Thats why i feel there is a great need for qualified BI resources to deliver optimal BI solutions and drive greater user adoption. The more users adopting SAP BI and BOBJ, the better opportunities for all of us.
Concerning your comment about ABAP - I know minimal ABAP learned on the job as a BW developer / analyst. I tend to find solutions through data modeling as opposed to using ABAP. SAP BW has standardized many many common reporting functions and on occasions i write some ABAP lookups. But during the initial stages of my career as a BW Analyst i used to have the ABAP team write any code i needed.
I even developed an ABAP report in ECC by providing the ABAP team with a detailed flow diagram of the logic. But lately i have learned to write some ABAP code myself.

I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them. Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view. I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes. My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.

Delete the System Preference .plist file (preference file) and when rebooting and #2 Reset the PRAM
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file

Hi, I also get the message "itunes could not restore the iphone because the password was incorrect" though I am never prompted to enter a password anywhere! Nor was the backup password encrypted to begin with! Really strange, any pointers will be greatly appriciated!

All offering not displaying in Learning Path

Hi,
We have created a course which contains 3 offerings (with different delivery modes), each offering have 1 class.
When we attach this course to a learning path and an employee subscribes to this learning path, only one offering is getting displayed to employee.
Can we show all offerings under a course in a learning path.

Your Learners should be able to see all Offerings that have Classes that are currently active (have no end date or an end date in the future).
Here are three things to check:
The Learner you are testing with has the appropriate Learner Access defined if the Restricted check box is selected for the Classes that belong to the Offerings
The Classes that you've created under the three Offerings are currently active
You are within time period set for the Enrollment Dates listed for each of the active Classes

HELP!!!! Path selection tool not working.

Earlier today my path selection tool was working fine. I was able to add vectors and move them around. Now all it is doing is moving the
whole shape instead of the selected vector. I tried restarting the program, opening different projects and I even tried rebooting the PC all together. Still works the same. I dont know what happened or how to fix it. I really wanted to push out a project before 5pm CST I would be ever so grateful if someone knew how to fix this.

Hi, LarissaPryor. I'm afraid you've made a wrong turn somewhere, since Photoshop Elements has no Path Selection tool, so you must have full Photoshop. Better to ask in the appropriate Photoshop forum. For windows:

Controlling Join Path in OBIEE

I have a dimension table that is the central “hub” of our physical data model.
That dimension is joined to 4 different fact tables.
I have a query/graph from a previous project release (all was working fine) that only references 2 of those fact tables.
Now that 2 more fact tables have been brought into the picture for our next release, the query that was working fine is now joining to all 4 fact tables (through the central dimension) even though
I still only need it to join to the original 2 fact tables. I’m not selecting or filtering from any of the 2 new fact tables or their associated dimensions (except the central dimension – which all facts share)
in this query. Yet, all 4 fact tables are invoked. Not sure why obiee is working that way.
I need OBIEE to not invoke a join to a Fact table if no Facts from that fact table are used in the query. The join is affecting the counts in the output and the counts are incorrect.

I will not say that's you ... but ...
You have 1 dimension and 4 fact tables: in your dimension LTS the fact tables must not exist as they have nothing to do there.
It's a powerful feature of the tool to split things, your business model must not "physically" connect things directly, it will use the physical model you did to generate the required query.
Maybe it can be unintuitive because you have a "strange" case, in general you have multiple dimensions for one fact table, in your case you have to model a multi-start business model and it can be strange because you have only 1 single dimension. When you will have more complex requirements the role of LTS vs business model joins will really help you.
PS: one last step, close the thread and flag Srini as the good one to help others with similar case, for now it's still This question is Not Answered.

Learning path in employee appraisal

As manager suppose during employee appraisal I want to add some courses in Learning path section in employee appraisal but I do not find the training that I want when I click on Add course button on Learning path section, what can we do in this case to add an additional training needs for the employee and this training not available in Learning management , do you recommend me to add descriptive flexfild , if yes how ?

You said Possible/Required courses should be available in OLM. it is okay but suppose the manager has a new courses and he wants his employees to get it but he could not find it in OLM.
What can he do in this case?
For this manager should ask content developer/OLM admin to register this course in OLM then futher he could assign to employee.
how can he suggest offline training which not part of OLM?
Manager can suggest to go for this PPT/PDF/Anyother as offline traninng if required.

Will you have access to both arrays at the same time? In that case, this could be your plan:
- move ocr and voting disk to new volumes according to metalink note 428681.1
you can replace the ocr with the system up and running but you'll have to shut down the clusterware for moving the voting disk
- migrate asm (online)
create the new volumes on the new array, then perform an 'alter diskgroup DGNAME add disk '/dev/dsk/newdevice'', wait until the rebalancing is done, then do 'alter diskgroup DGNAME drop disk /dev/dsk/olddisc''. Do this with both diskgroups, wait until the rebalancing is over and unplug the old array

edit: in 11g you can even move the voting disk online, you only have to shut down the clusterware on 10g rac

Information added at my work profile on MacBook Pro doesn't get to the other iclouds: my iphone and personal profile on MacBook Pro.

Things added on other profiles (Iphone and personal profile on macbook pro) does get to my work profile, but not the contrary.

Profile is which profile I chose to enter in my SnowLeopard System. I created 2 profiles. One I enter to work, the other, personal, I enter to do my personal things when I go home.
It worked weel for a while. I had muy icloud working on both profiles, with iCal, Agenda, etc. Now it doesn't anymore. On my work profile the information from icloud only gets in, not out.
