"Corrupt" Message

iTunes message of "corrupt" and must "restore". Completed restore process and still receive corrupt message. Erased songs from iPod. Use Vista. Any ideas?

We need to know more, how are we supposed to know what 'Corrupt' means if we don't know when you get the message, in what software, what the full message says, etc.
The dictionary definition for corrupt is :-
"having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain : unscrupulous logging companies assisted by corrupt officials. • evil or morally depraved : the play can do no harm since its audience is already corrupt. See note at depraved . • archaic (of organic or inorganic matter) in a state of decay; rotten or putrid : a corrupt and rotting corpse. 2 (of a text or manuscript) debased or made unreliable by errors or alterations. • (of a computer database or program) having errors introduced. verb [ trans. ] 1 cause to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain : there is a continuing fear of firms corrupting politicians in the search for contracts. • cause to become morally depraved : he has corrupted the boy. • archaic infect; contaminate : [as adj. ] ( corrupting) the corrupting smell of death. 2 (often be corrupted) change or debase by making errors or unintentional alterations : Epicurus's teachings have since been much corrupted. • cause errors to appear in (a computer program or database) : a program that has somehow corrupted your system files."

  • Error 554-5.6.0 Corrupt message content... when sending emails to other users on same exchange server

    Hello
I have a very strange problem at a customer from our company.
The problem happens to only one user on the Exchange 2010 organization (SP3, no additional patches installed, Server is 2008 r2).
When this specific user sends an email to one or more users on the same Exchange organization, he gets sometimes (not always) the following error back:
554-5.6.0 Corrupt message content 554 5.6.0 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ConversionFailedException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Inhaltskonvertierung: Fehlerhafter TNEF-Zusammenfassungsinhalt. ConversionFailedException:
    Inhaltskonvertierung: Fehlerhafter TNEF-Zusammenfassungsinhalt. [Stage: CreateReplay]
So - TNEF, corrupt message Content... I googled the error and checked all the recommended Solutions. The Outlook Client is ok, I have doublechecked it and everything is configured like it has to be.
The Problems happens as above described only for one user when he writes emails to users from one specific Domain on the same Exchange organization (example
    [email protected]).
He has this specific contacts in a SharePoint contact list which is connected to his Outlook Client.
Thanks for any help or Information!

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that one user cannot send message with error “554-5.6.0 Corrupt message content 554 5.6.0”.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I want to double confirm whether it works or not when send message to external address, how about the OWA?
It seems that message has corrupt content. Is there any 3rd prevent software or Anti-Virus software in Exchange 2010?
Regarding this issue, firstly I would like to explain that content conversion occurs in two places, that are the Store Driver and the Content Conversion stage of Categorization. Since the issue exists in the delivery mail of internal user, the agent that was
used in the process of handling by Store Driver may cause this issue.
Please try to enable pipeline tracing and content conversion tracing to get more details about this error, for your reference:

  • ITunes 10.6.3 corruption message on App downloads

iTunes 10.6.3 corruption message on App downloads
I have recently udated to iTunes 10.6.3 on my Macbook, which is using Mac OSX 10.7.4.
When I try to update my Apps or Download a new song or App the following error message appears: ‘Part of the file seems to be corrupted’.
I have downloaded iTunes 10.6.3 again, but it has not resolved the issue.
Further, in the ‘My App Updates’ page in iTunes all the Apps waiting to be updated have a broken link icon next to them.
Still further, iPhone or iPad 2 will not download the Apps either - I get the same error message.
Has anyone got any ideas how to resolve this issue please?

I have this issue too, and I also have Mac OS X 10.7.4.  It will partially download, but then I receive an error showing the file is corrupt:
"The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs."
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • I am getting an 'iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted" message from my 80GB iPod Classic.

I am getting an 'iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted" message from my 80GB iPod Classic. It plays music fine and has 2.5 GB of space left. I get the message on multiple PC's and USB ports. I have tried resetting it and using Disk Mode. Any advice?

    In my Computer folder
    Right Click the iPod
    Select properties->tools->error check
tick both fix filesystem error and surface scan.
    Press  OK
May take about 2 hours to complete.
PS: dont be in a hurry to disconnect your iPod, as future recurrence will come, as the HD is almost full, do back up your iTunes library, before your iPod HD gives the dreaded fatal Red X sign.
    Good Luck!

  • Random Corruption Message...

I would turn on my MBP (with the iPod connected) and everything with load perfectly; iTunes would open and detect my iPod flawlessly.
However, while my computer would be on randomly a corruption message would come up and my iPod would be disconnected, and ontop of that it would say that I just performed an unsafe removal! Anyways, have any of you ever had this problem? Is there a quick-fix?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Incorrect Corruption Message

I'm having to drop many Photoshop documents into a print publication. These are all stored on an external Firewire 800 drive. Lately, Pages has been giving me messages that some of these image files are corrupted when I try to drop them in. The funny thing is that every other application can open these files and display them correctly. In fact, some of the images that were already in this enormouse file which appeared fine before now are reading as corrupted as well (where once there was an image there is a box with an X through it). This is obviously very frustrating - not only can I not get the images I need in this file, but work I've already done is being lost and doesn't seem to want to fix.
When the problem of images getting Xed popped up, most of them were TIFFs and JPEGs so going into Photoshop and either saving them as a PSD or just using the original PSD file was a fix for the problem. Now, even that is not working when I get the corrupted message on import.
I really don't think these images are corrupted since everything else can work with them. The Pages file might be suspect, but I'm not sure why that would be. I've also had a problem bringing in images that were once EPS file then editted in Photoshop. The EPS layer that was once black lines on white gets inverted to ruin the whole image. The funny thing is, the EPS layer was flatened long ago into a differnt layer. Upon saving these images as something else, I get the corrupted message as well. The same inversion problem has popped up in old Keynote files which used to be fine before I got the new version of that program.
I've done disk repairs on both my internal HD and the external LaCie. I'm hoping someone will tell me this is just a file issue that I can use one of my aforementioned methods as a workaround. However, the fear is that it's a Pages issue we'll have to wait for an update to fix because of the deadline for this project.
Any advice or informed speculation is welcome!

Since I have to get this thing in the the mail today (although it should have been 3 days ago were it not for this problem) I have been going through and adding back in these 100+ images, and then saving each individual page as a PDF, so my work is not lost like before. However, there is been an enormous lag in performance now.
Just selecting an item takes 15+ secs for Pages to recognize teh change, not to mention editing size and position. Dropping in an image may take 2-3 minutes, with me holding the cursor to drag it in for half of that. System performance shows Pages using all the CPU power and memory available (and that's when I'm running just the activity monitor). This makes me think Pages is corrupt. And yet, any other document I create or open in Pages works fine.
I've been going through and getting rid of every slide Pages doesn't like (PSD and some TIFF) and doing a save as from Preview instead of Photoshop. These new Pics never seem to become corrupt. I've tried rebooting the system, running the weekly and monthly clean up scripts, saving the Pages file to the external HD, to no avail. The performance is appalling, so much that I would have moved all the work to photoshop if I didn't have this much vested in this file already and today being a deadline. Even before when it was dropping images it was this bad. Maybe that's the reason for the increase in lag.
I'll try to open the file on the Mac Pro at our University bookstore and see what happens there. Then we'll know if it was the file that has corruptions in it or not.

cannot install firefox or adobe flash get file corrupt message:

Try installing from the Offline Installer. It may be a temporary folder permissions error, so this may fix it. Here is a link to try to download from:

  • Help- iTunes corrupted message

    Hi
I was using my iPod and iTunes like I regularly do and I have had no problems with my pc. But when I open up iTunes I always get an error message in the corner as soon as I start up saying
    itunes.exe- corrupt file
the file or directory \iPod_Control\itunes\temp file 1 is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.
I have completely deleted and reinstalled itunes and ipod updater about 30 times and still everytime it starts up there is this error message. I have gone through the i tunes directory and deleted the files called temp file 1 but once I restart itunes it is back to the corrupt message.
Am I doing something wrong? How can this be fixed? I cannot add new songs onto my ipod because of this repeated error message.
    Thanks in advance.

  • File unsupported or corrupted message from Lr4.4 [was: WinWolloff]

Recently I have been getting a file unsupported or corrupted message from Lr4.4 If I open the file from Lr and save as same name replace file it works fine???? OSX10.6.8 Files are on Drobo firewire 800

    web-weaver wrote:
There had been reports a while ago that Lr was unable to write exported files to a folder that was (at the same time) synced with Drobo. Drobo acknowledged the problem and has - about 2 months ago - updated its software to eliminate this problem.
That was dropbox, not drobo. Still, point is well taken - Lr (and/or export plugins) sometimes writes files in place, rather than writing a temp file and then moving atomically. Even Windows thumbnail creator sometimes creates bad thumbnails of (what will become good) exported files, because of this...
Exportant has option to alleviate this anomaly.

Unfortunately this is something you cannot do on your own, you will need to take the device into a Nokia Repair Centre to hav them re-flash the phone and reload it with the latest software.
Be sure that your backed up contents were not the cause of the problem as if they were when you restore them your phone will be back to square one.

  • Can I delete a corrupt message diretly from the In Box in the Mail folder

I received an e-mail that has an .eml attachment. Mail would not download the entire message with the attachment - although it continued trying to download once it started to load in my in box. I deleted this e-mail message from the server. Now Mail seems to be caught in a continuous loop of "Fetching new mail" The only way I can exit the program is to force quit. When I open the program again the same thing happens. When I try to move this partial e-mail to the trash or delete it, bounce it or forward it I get an "opening mailbox and synchronizing with file system" message
or the program freezes. When I try to copy this e-mail to another folder the message is "resuming interrupted append"
Is there a way to delete just a message from any of the in/out boxes?
It seems like all messaged, in/out/sent etc are all compressed together like a stuffit file but there's not way to get in and delete just a particular message. The only other way I have been able to get rid of a partially corrupted file like this is to remove the entire account or in this instance, the accounts in box, move it to another folder on the desktop, reopen Mail and let it rebuild the accounts in box, then copy and paste everything except for the corrupt file into that. There's got to be an easier way!
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

The problem I have is it will go into the trash, but then I have the same problem deleting it from the trash! Even when it looks like it's deleted and I reboot Mail, the file returns to the same spot or in the original In Box.
The problem, I think, lies in the actual corrupted file that's embedded in the in/out/trash etc file in the main Mail folder. From what I understand, Mac has fixed this problem in 10.4 and one can go and delete that particular message/file. In 10.3 land, they are all hidden. Thanks for brainstorming with me!

  • ITunes has detecetd a iPod that appears to be corrupted message - DESPERATE

We have several iPods in th family. 2 iPod Classics, 1 4GB nano. All woking fine until recently. Now when each one is connected we get the same message:
+"iTunes has detecetd a iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore it...."+
I have restored all three iPods and updated their software many tens of times in different sequences.
I have followed all the help forum suggestions and more. Have reinstalled iTunes many times. (before and after registry clean ups.) Have even removed regitry settings for USB upper and lower limits. Have re-installed all USB drivers on teh wintel machine. Have deleted the iPod updater files to force an update to latest iPod s/w version through itunes. Have cleaned registry with some tools I have. Have tried other USB ports. I know the iPods are OK because we have tested them on our MacBook Pro.
It doesn't matter what I do on this windows XP box - The same message always ends up reappearing.
I can't find anything on teh support or forum sites that gives any clue to this.

  • HT201210 I am stuck with "The iPad could not be restored because the firmware file was corrupt" message.

    Hi
I have an iPad mini and it was on iOS 6.1.3, my friend came and he said that he knows how to install iOS 7 for me. I gave it to him and he tried to install it, but apparently he failed to do so and an "Activation Error" is appearing on the screen now asking me to register in the developers program.
Now, we are trying to restore it back to iOS 6.1.3 using iTunes, the software downloads well and it starts restoring but that I keep getting this error message "The iPad could not be restored because the firmware file was corrupt.".
I am sure that the file is not corrupted because it's downloaded via iTunes regular download and it's not from an outside source.
I am stuck with this now and my iPad is useless this way.
    Please any suggestions ?

Yes, don't download Beta Software that you have no business or legal right to download and quit taking bad advice from friends.
Now to maybe get you out of the restoring jam, the only thing that I can think of that might work is to use recovery mode, unless you already tried it and it didn't work.
You can read about it here, but the instructions are posted below.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • Removing corrupt messages in Apple Mail

I have 6 identical messages in Apple Mail dating from 2006. I cannot delete them or move them. I've been told it is due to the messages being corrupted. OK. How do I get rid of them?

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.
