Cost center changes affecting cycle?

Hi Experts,
In my project, already we did entire cycle from Project System to MM. Now my client wants do some changes or merges of u201CCost Centeru201D.
If I did this changes as per client request, the entire cycle which was done already will gets affected of this changes ..Please confirm me whether entire cycle will gets affected of this Cost Center change.

Cost center change

we want to change cost center right now, I'm concerned about the PO and fixed asset with those old cost center, may I know the table for PO, fixed asset assignment?
for the open PO(done goods receipt, but not invoice verification), PO(done both GR and IR) and fixed assets which are already posted acquisition, fixed assets already done depreciation, how can we change the cost center assignment? if changed, any serious impact to the month and year end closing for system(for example, auto-payment can not run, depreciation can not run)?

In KS02, we can't shorten cost center life, we can only change analysis period, only in OKEON, we can change the validity period.
our business user propose following for accrual posting if cost center change (use new cost center to replace old cost center)
-Cost center need to be deactivated.
-And then accrue need to reclass to new cost center.
-After that block the cost center
but i check the system, we can only change validity period in OKEON.
in KS02, we can block posting by locking primary cost posting.
so my understanding is follows: (1).okeon, (3) KS02. but I 'm not sure the t-code to use for the second step,accrue need to reclass to new cost center, can anyone advise?
also if we change validity period to end this month, after this month, user can't post to that cost center, why we need block cost center(step3), is it redundant?

Cost center change in the Asset master record

When ever cost center changed in the Asset master record, can it possible what ever the dep that is posted to previous cost center,that will automatically transfers to the new cost center,is there any programme for this,i can use repost functionality in controlling,some time many copst centers changes will happen in
our system,so can any tell me how to automate this.

Hi,
Automatic transfer to new cost center is not possible.
You need to use Distribution or assessment to re allocate the expenses to new cost center.

Question 1: If you make a cost center change to PP01 will the data automatically update on pa20 or do you have to to an action on following the cost center change.

You would need to run the Cost Center Change Action to make the Org. Assignment Change.
With this action,it will reflect the new Cost Center for the Employee.

Cost Center Change in Asset master

Hi Gurus
I have one problem of Asset master change
If I change cost center in asset master after depriciation run (same period for which dep. posting has been done) now make rerun of depreciation posting.
at that time has new depreciation posting done for new cost center or remain as it is ???
Exact scenario is like this
1) Depreciation posting was complated for period 1/2007
2) now change cost center which effective date is 1/1/2007 in asset master
3) now rerun of depreciation posting
The depreciation posting with new cost center does not created
Please reply me as soon as possible

Hi Jivani,
The when you have already executed depreciation run for the assets, system will not allow the re-run that as it affect FI posting.
In your case, you case distreibute your depreciation cost to new cost center and next month run will take care if you have changed the cost center.

we are changing the cost center for open PO's kindly tell us the best approach how to do it for all open PO's line items for open PO's are 4000.
we will totally block the old PO's and change the PO's with NO GR and IR immediately, but what and how to do for if there are GR, IR, or one of them their. and also what if IR and GR differences are thier, kindly provide all the best possible approaches.

Make Acct assigment as changeable at time of IR in SPRO for Acct Assigmet 'K' ...so that u can change the cost Center while doing MIRO. if u do not want to go with mass change.

You can change Cost center while Doing SES. No issue
for others... reverse the IR as one option.

How to find the cost center group from cycle/ segment in CO module?

I need to fetch the list of cost centers in the cost center group against the cycle.
Is there any table which will store the list of cost centers against the cycle?
or else, what I was thinking is use of BAPI BAPI_COSTCENTERGROUP_GETDETAIL, which will give me the list of cost centers,
but we need to pass the controlling area + cost center grp to fetch the cost centers from BAPI, I have controlling area with me but not the cost center grp name, only I have Cycle info lke cycle name, segment name, seq number. so how to find the cost center grp name from the cycle name?

Multiple Cost Center Change Batch Upload

I need to update the data of multiple cost centers. I have tried using BDC/ transaction KS02 and BAPI_COSTCENTER_CHANGEMULTIPLE. However, I encounter problems with cost centers with different validity periods when changing the heirarchy of cost centers. Your input will be highly appreciated.

Updating cost centers with single validity period say, 10/25/05-12/31/9999, isn't a problem. However, when changing the heirarchy area, CSKS-KHINR, of cost centers with multiple validity periods, meaning with intervals, i.e. 08/01/2005-09/30/2005 and 11/01/2005 - 12/31/9999, neither BDC nor BAPI works. With BAPI, even the gap where the cost center does not exist is updated while in the BDC of tcode KS02, it gets stuck.

Cost center Group & Assessment cycle

We are running CC reports for CC groups X and Y - Report GR55, Report group 1000 - Run in both currencies Pesos and USD by running in both currency modes.
Requirement:
1) How can we see the net balance in CC reports after assessments out = 0 in both Pesos and USD currencies.
2) Where we can see the link between Cost center Group and Assessment cycle.

1) You will see the credit entries in the report after the assessment is run. Here, report should have configured in such a way, you can see both debit and credit entries.
2) If you have assigned the KSB1 Actual cost line report to the report, you can doubte click and see from which cost centers the values have flown through assessment.

I donu2019t think there is any standard repot available for it.
You can develop your own report or query based on the Tables CDHDR and CDPOS, OBJECTCLAS = 'KOSTL' for cost center

Cost center change makes the Org Assignment infotype go blank

Hi Experts.
Am trying to change the cost center of an org unit. What happens is, the Infotype 0001 records of all the employees in that Org Unit are delimited and go blank. Can you please suggest a solution for this. Org Re-assignment action helps, but this is a tedious task.

Cost center change of Profit Center

Hi,
We wish to change the profit center of a cost center. I know that all postings going forward will use the new profit center and any historical postings to the cost center will remain on the old profit center.
However is there a way to move all the historical postings to that cost center to the new profit center.
I have looked into 9KEO for this and wondering if there is a program already written that does this automatically without working out what values posted to individual account numbers and years etc.

MDG-F 7.0 Single Cost Center Change, Single GL Change, Single Profit Center Change

Hi all,
I am in an MDG-F 7.0 shop. In this version, there is a mass change function. But I haven't yet seen any menu selection for single change. such as making changes to just one GL account or making changes to just one cost center code. does that mean that single change has to be done through mass change selection as well?

It is available on Financial Contolling Goverance cost center under Search sub area.
Here you have to select respective object and after searching result you can find there is link with aready existing master data objects.
You can click on the link to open respective object. Here you can edit and change as per your wish

Cost center changes in PO

Hi MM consultants,
We have 2 plant and lot of cost center.
Cost center is assigned to business area and in turn BA is assigned to Plant.
Now when we create a PO for consumables if we assign the wrong cost center for the plant system accepts the same
We expect the system should throw an error message.

Change of Profit Center in Cost Center

I'm trying to change Profit Center 2000 to 3000 in Cost Center Change Screen. We would like to effect the changes in the future from April 1, 2011.
An error message appears, Changing profit center from 1000 to 3000 is not permitted.

HI May be you are assigning profit center belongs to different company code, so then accounting will not be in proper so its giving that error search the profit center to that company code and assign and then save.
