Cost Component mismatch in CK11N

Hi,
When I display Material Cost estimate with Qty Struc (CK11N), the cost component split that is displayed is not the one tha's been defined in the costing variant.
Note: there is only 1 C.Comp - say X1. Struc defined in OKTZ.  Yet the behaviour is strange.
Example 1:
CE 110000 is assigned to CComp 10 in OKTZ.
Now, in CK11N,  CE 110000 has 10 euro fixed cost & 15 euro variable cost (total 25 euros)
But in the cost component view it shows only the Variable cost 15 euros under CComp 10
(and remaining 10 euros is shown under different cost comp 20.)
X1 is already assigned in the costing variant and is rightly picked up in CK11N.. However the Fixed & Variable costs do not match with the cost elements.
looking for pointers to resolve this..
Thanks & Regards,
Jai

Hello Jayaram,
thanks for the response.
The Control Share allows both Fixed and Variable Costs.
In fact, in the CK11N, in the itemization, we have the values for both fixed & variable in the Cost Elements.. but not in C.Comp 10.
The other/addition info : a) CCS was not changed  b) Material Ledger is not active
Appreciate if you can provide further support.
regards,
Jai

  • Error in CK11n - The system could not determine a cost component split for

    Hi All,
When i run CK11n i have following error:
The system could not determine a cost component split for the internal activity with activity type 502000 of cost center 10100.
    Procedure
Check the master data for activity type 502000 of cost center 10100. It is possible that no activity price calculation has been carried out for the cost center.
could any one give me solution
    Thanking you.

Well, did you run activity price calculation for the relevant cost center(s)?
The CCS you're using for product costing (either your COGM split, or the auxillary) has been marked as a "primary" cost component split.  It wants to break secondary costs down into their cost components, and assign those components to components in its own structure.
Wihout a planned CCS for the activity, this isn't possible.  (This is normally calculated by KSPI during planning.)
Either calculate an activity CCS is KSPI, assuming that all the prerequisites are in place for that, or uncheck the "primary cost component split" indicator in your costing variant configuration.

  • Standard Costing : CK11N (Inconsistent Cost Component Views)

    Hi,
I have created the cost sheet with below information:
    A) Material
    B) + Labour
    C) +Indirect Labour (% of Labour)
    D) + Utilities
    E) + Production overhead (% of Material)
    F) Cost of Goods Manufactured (Total of A to E)
    G) Admin overhead (% of COGM)
    H) Sales overhead (% of COGM)
    I)  Cost of Goods Sold (F to H)
Also Cost component structure is maintained accordingly with the cost elements applicable to above mentioned components.
When I run the cost estimate for the FG/SFG, cost is calculated in the expected way consindering all the components mentione above and displayed in "Itemisation" View.
But the problem has been in the Cost component view of costing run.
I have activated only three views i.e. Cost of Goods Manufactured , Cost of Goods Sold and Sales and Admininstration Cost.
    1. Costs are not appearing under the respective components correctly.
    2. Sales and administration cost component is displaying Material cost instead of the overhead
    3. Utilities is having very high cost (not the sum of costs appearing in itemisation)
    4. Component Material is totally disappeared and not visible.
I request experts to comment on this disparity and suggest the steps that need to be taken for getting the right cost compnent views.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Check cost elements assigned to structure.  For this go to transaction code OKTZ and select your CCS and double click on Assignment Cost Component-Cost element interval.

  • Auxiliary cost component splitting issue in CK11N

    Hi Friends,
We are using primary cost component split for the auxiliary cost component structure for getting more information.  We have a machine cost in the main cost component which is split in three auxiliary cost component i.e. Energy, Maintenance and depreciation.
My belief is that with the activation of primary cost component split the costs have to flow from cost center in its primary cost element form to this cost component structure.
With the current data that we have, the cost component split is seen for all the three cost elements in the auxiliary cost component split u2013 But we are not able to trace the source of this amount as we do not have any splitting structure in place, the plan costs are only for Energy not for Maintenance and depreciation.
    OKES Configuration:
    Selection for assignment:
Cost Element               GMACHINE (only for Energy)
    Activity Type     MACH
    Splitting rules:
    10                                        21     Equivalence Numbers Planning
Machine 0.64 is splitting into as follows Depreciation 0.41, Energy 0.12 and Maintenance 0.11
I am afraid from where splitting happening for Energy and depreciation and there is not receiving   splitting rules.
    Appreciate for quick reply

    Hi to Evrybody,
I am trying to configure Primary Cost Component Split,, but I am confused what are the technical steps to configure such a structure 
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/en/7e/cb7e8643a311d189ee0000e81ddfac/content.htm
There are several requirements how to configure in SAP Primary Cost Component Split:
1)You assign a cost component structure in the CO version in Cost Center and Process cost planning!  Which Cost Component Structure? The Primary Cost Component Structure or the Cost Component Structure?
2)You determined the prices through planned price iteration!                                                                 We set this indicator in the CO Version itself?
3)You define a Cost Component Structure for Primary Cost Component Split of Product Cost Planning! How do we define it, via simply checking the check in OKTZ?
I want to understand when you create Cost Component Structure and Primary Cost Component Structure, which one of these 2 needs to be assigned in the CO version in Cost Center Accounting? And the other thing is I do not make the difference between Cost Component Structure and Auxiliary Cost Component Structure? Could you please shortly describe what is the difference? Other thing is when you create Primary Cost Component Structure and its components, DO THEY INCLUDE ONLY RANGE OF PRIMARY COST ELEMENTS OR IT IS A TECHNICAL STEP ONLY TO CHECK THAT CHECK IN OKTZ FOR Primary Cost Component Split. Let me know, thank you very much for your help and cooperation again!

  • Cost component view German instead of English

When I display product cost estimate with quantity structure. Under the tab costs all the cost component view description show up in German. In our development and test client they show up fine in English. I don't know if this problem has any thing to do with costing at all but I was just wondering if any of you faced this problem and how did you solve the issue. If this is not the forum can you please point me to where should I pose this question.
    Regards

    Hi NIK83,
When a cost estimate and its itemization is saved in txn CK11N, the text of the items is only written in one language to database table CKIT. So if somebody who was logged on in German created and saved the cost estimate, everybody who displays this cost estimate in CK13N will  see German texts. This is the design of the database tables. If there would be texts
for the items in every language installed in your system, the data volume would increase significantly.
However, you can change the layout of the itemization and the cost structure by adding certain columns, e.g. material description, with the English texts. You can save this layout and make it available to all users.

  • Cost component structure - cost elements for FERT and HALB (TC:OKTZ)?

    Hi all,
our cost component structure has the following structure (TC: OKTZ):
    1 Raw materials
    2 Human ressources
    3 Production
    4 Material Overhead
    5 Production overhead
    6 external activity
(this settings are conform with SAP standard - copy from cost comp. structure 01)
To cost comp 1 "raw material" we assigend the relevant (primary) cost elements (consumption raw mat, e,g, steel, wood...).
My question is: In case we insert/post e.g. a semi-finished product to the production order from stock (accor. bill of material), where (in which cost comp.) do I have to assign the relevant cost element? I guess this should be the account "inventory change unfinished product? (maintain in TC: OBYC for transaction BSV according val. class)
Is it correct to assign this cost element to cost comp structure "raw material", because actually it is a semi finished product which is picked up from stock to convert /process further? To problem is, if this cost element is not assigned I get an error in CK11N/CK40N
I hope my wording is not to abstract...
    Thanks in advance...
    best Regards

    Hi..
You don’t need to consider the cost element of production order settlement and production notification.
Cost component structure need the cost element of production order’s debit.

  • Raw Material Cost Estimate - No split between cost component

    Dears,
I need to execute a material cost estimate considering the Purchasing Info Record (PIR) where 3 different conditions are present:
    1) PB00
    2) FRB1
    3) RUC1
    The scope is:
    - linking PB00 to cost component 1
    - linking FRB1 to cost component 2
    - linking RUC1 to cost component 3
    Cost components are already created.
    I did following steps:
    - creation PIR with these 3 conditions (transaction ME11)
    PB00  10,00 EUR @ 1 KG
    FRB1   2,00 EUR @ 1 KG
    RUC1   3,00 EUR @ 1 KG
    - link condition types to origin groups (transaction OKYO)
    FRB1 linked to FRB1
    RUC1 linked to RUC1
    - link origin groups to cost component (transaction OKTZ)
PB00, is linked to cost component 1 without origin group, but using only account coming from T030 table
FRB1 is linked to cost component 2 using origin group FRB1 and the same acocunt used for condition PB00 coming from T030 table
RUC1 is linked to cost component 3 using origin group RUC1 and the same acocunt used for condition PB00 coming from T030 table
At this moment, when I try to execute the cost estimate with transaction CK11N, the split is not done, and all condition types (all amounts) are linked to cost component 1. The set-up done in OKYO is not considered by the system.
In the material master there's any origin group, if I try to fill in origin group FRB1 all condition types (all amounts) are linked to component 2, and if I try to change the origin group in the material master from FRB1 to RUC1, all condition types (all amounts) are linked to component 3 --> this means that the set-up done OKTZ is correctly considered by the system to link the origin group to the cost components.
The problem is that the system reads the origin group from the material master, instead of transaction OKYO.
How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jody

Pl verify following two things -
    Check valuation variant.
Strategy sequence should have 'L - Price from purchasing info-record' and Sub-strategy should be 'A Quotation price via condition table' or 'B PO price via condition table'.
OKYO setting should have valuation variant associated with your costing variant, along with other details (dont leave that field blank).
Let us know if that works.

  • Activate Cost Component Split in Controlling Area Currency

    Hello,
I have controlling area currency USD and company code currency INR. When I do WIP run then system is giving error messages "contr.area currecy is missing" and "not find valid cost component structure" and suggesting to maintain "Cost Component Split in Controlling Area Currency".
When I maintain then after that I am not able to run CK11N for std.cost estimate only with the error "cost componenet spit costed with zero" and also system giving this message on front screen of ck11n, means not allowing to go into ck11n result screen.
Could you please give me some tips or check point on this issue.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Ravi

I'd revert to the Cost Component per Co Area currency config that you were forced to delete (as per your other post) - but this time, just for a Costing Type or a specific Val Variant and check the results.
Maybe that'll throw some light... also check if you maintained all the Exchange Rate config in your system... check General Settings for all the config that is required.
    Cheers.

  • How Cost component Determines The Correct Cost Elements?

    Hi,
In the cost component views i have cost element XXX is mapped to cost component Local raw materials and cost element YYY to imported raw materials and my local raw materials are linked to BSX inventory accounts of ZZZ. In this regard i have the following questions :-
    1) When i create cost estimates (t.code CK11N) for a local raw material the system is showing this costs correctly under local raw material cost component, how the system know that this is local raw material and not an imported raw material? Because no where in the config settings i have mapped cost element XXX to local raw materials because XXX is a consumption cost element. The only config i have maintained for this raw material is linking it to the ZZZ account which is the balance sheet stock account. So how the system will determine this particular material is linked to cost element XXX and not YYY?

    Hi,
Please check assignment cost component structure your assign the purticular cost element your assigned that cost element is showing the costing sheet in ck11n report for ram material import or local.

  • Display Dept. amount in Std cost estimate cost component view

    Dears,
During implementation of Repetitive manufacturing, my customer Requirement is to have 4 activity types:
    1- Utilities : (Elect-water-GAS ... Etc)
    2- Labor : (salary - bonus ..Etc)
    3- Depreciation : (Depreciation exp)
    4- other : like (maintenance .. Etc)
he wants that so he can know this classification of the above costs liek depreciation per material in the standard cost estimate so my question is:
Is it applicable to display the above requirement and using only 2 activity types
    Labour and machine
and use the cost component structure to display the above req ?
    as an example:
in CK11N : if i switch to cost component view to display the depreciation amount and Etc
    Thanks and best Regards,
    Ahmed Samir

    Salaam Ahmad
    You have both choices.
You can go with 4 act types or go with 2 and use costing sheet for the other costs
I will prefer 4 act types

  • Cost Component Splitting in Joint Production

    Hello.
I meet a trouble in the cost component splitting for the co-product.
I tried to creat a BOM like :
                                 A                       B
                                  C (CCS1)           D(CCS2)
the raw material C&D are in different cost component, and the manufacturing matertials are A&B.
    and I set the apportionment structure like A(CCS1 100%,CCS2 50%)   B(CCS1 0%, CCS2 50%)
Then i run the CK11N,and the result is correct.
But the problem is as following:
    when I creat a BOM like :
                                 A                       B
                                              E
                                  C (CCS1)          D(CCS2)
the raw material C&D are in different cost component, and the semi-product matertial is E,then E is producted for finished product A&B.
    and I set the apportionment structure like A(CCS1 100%,CCS2 50%)   B(CCS1 0%, CCS2 50%)
then i run the CK11N,and the result is wrong.
    whatever i set the apportionment structure,the result of the CCS is  A (CCS1 50%,CCS2 50%),B(CCS1 50%,CCS2 50%)
anybody can tell me how i can get the correct result?

  • Activity types&Cost Component Structure?

    Hello All,
I would like to ask following**
*Can production cost centers have three activity types Produced Quantity, Machine Hour, Labor hour? Will the confirmation of these tree act types on work center form Production Cost of Material. Question is regarding line whish will have name Production Cost in Cost Component structure /OKTZ/*
Can only Primary Cost Component Split for Preliminary Costing be set and will it be visualized as itemization during precosting in CK11N? Which assignments regarding this have to be done?**
    Best Regards,
    Poly P**

    Hi
I guess you need to educate your users a bit as to how the costing works as well as what is possible in SAP
Having these many itemizations is neither possble, nor recommended
The expenses like Discounts, Maintenance, Supporting costs etc are intended for analysis at Trial balance level.... These things are overheads from costing point of view.... So, you need to logically group them
Material consumption cost is very much possible provided the material components are part of the BOM
Direct Costs like Labor, electricity - you need to be create activity type for them.. ANd maintain a plan rate in KP26 for the same... You can not show original cost element in itemization for them
Other costs mentioned by you are indirect costs - Which are absorbed as overheads... Either as a % of other costs (Material + labor + electrivity) or as a rate per hr of Labor, etc

  • Material Ledger : Cost component split different in CO PC and ML

    Hello SAP People,
In ML cost component split I don't have the same split that in CK13N COPC.
    History
We changed the cost component structure in OKTZ, because we wanted to split on two different cost component the cost of Copper :
    -     Copper
    -     Primes :Premium cost (transformation cost for producer) on copper.
In CK11N the split is OK and we can read the new cost element corresponding to premium cost.
To split the costing tool goes on the purchase info records to read condition type that are different for copper and premium.
The problem we have is that when we run Material ledger we are not able to see after a good receipt a similar split in the cost component view.
We already run MLCCS_RESET and MLCCS_Startup programs this month and created new Raw material after. But it seems the ML do not take care of this and all the actual cost (I stop to single level) are on the copper cost component and there is nothing on Premium cost component.
We just run single level on ML for current month.
Could you please help me to explain why we are not able to obtain the correct split between Copper and u201CPrimesu201D

    Hi Marco,
yes, these both are independent from each other. You will have no issue when these are different.
It is very typical that you want to report different kind of information for activities as for materials.
    A typical setup might be
    Activity                                   Material
    Asset depreciation                   Raw Material Cost
    Room cost                               Energy
    Labour                                     Production Cost
    labour overhead                      Production Overhead
    Electricity                                 Packaging
When you use the activity for the production of a material (confirmation CO15) the assignment goes normally to a single cost component in the material, above for example into production cost. This is controlled by the cost element. Only when the primary cost component split is activated and a transfer structure betweeen both is maintained you could achieve
Asset depeciation, Room Cost, Labour overhead  -> Production overhead
    Labour -> Production Cost
    Electricity -> Energy
    Best regards,  Udo
