The modules under Oracle HRMS are: HR, Payroll, Advanced Benefits, Time & Labor, Learning Management, SSHR, iLearning, iRecruitment and Business Intelligence.
Under HR, You have:
1. Ogranizaitonal Structures, Jobs, Positions and Grade Structures
2. Recruitment Process
3. Career management
4. People management
Under Payroll, You can:
1. Setup Pay methods, Payroll frequencies, Elements (Basic sal, HRA etc..), write formulas to calculate your salary components.
2. Run regular payroll process
3. Retro pay
4. Loan or Advance Payment etc..
Under OAB (Advanced Benefits): This is only specific to United States.
You can setup different benefit plans based on the eligibility criteria such as Medical, Dental, Life Insurence etc. You can also enroll your dependants.
Under Time & Labor:
This is useful for organizations who will pay the salaries based on the working hours. You can setup timecards, holiday calendars, shifts, different types of allowances based on the working hours and over time as well.
Learning Management:
This is useful for the organizations like Universities and all.
Under this, you can setup the different types of Courses and its details where in you can enroll to attend the course.
SSHR, iLearning, iRecruitment and BIS are self service modules. End-user can have access to SSHR, iLearning and iRecruitment modules where they can update their personal information, raise the online requests etc.

Juan mean to say here that in the 1st run the transport failsed for some reason and in the 2nd run the same transport request imported successfully with warning (Yellow light).
Any way import is over.

Oracle HRMS & GL Integration

We are implementing Oracle HRMS onsite where Oracle GL is already implemented and we are in process of proposing future target architecture seamlessly
Current senario has 1 production machine hosting Oracle GL + Oracle 9i Db and 1 Dev machine with the same high specs.
Our goal is to implement Oracle HRMS on new infra structure with 2 application machines in cluster + 2 Db machines in Oracle RAC cluster and integrate GL sucessfully.We are intrested in Oracle Vanilla implementation without getting into much customization
How can we go about achieving our goal and upto what level will customization be involved.

If the HRMS is going to be implemented in a new instance, you need to build the interface to load the Data into the Instance where the GL is running
Are you going to implement Payroll,If yes then you need to transfer the costing info to GL
Depending on the legislation, if you are using the check writer process then the reconciliation need to take place in the Cash Management an interface has to be built for that

Need help in creating documents for Contacts in Oracle HRMS

We are trying to add documents to Contacts in Oracle HRMS. (11.5.10.2)
Navigation: Oracle HR Super User -> Fastpath -> Documents of Record
Search for a Contact -> Manage Documents of Record -> Create Document of Record.
In Document Information -> Type is mandatory field but the LOV is not returning any values.
The LOV works fine for both system defined and custom document types when trying to create documents for Employees or External Contractors.
But we would need to be able to add documents for Contacts also.
Please let us know if this expected functionality or if there is any setup that is needed.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Resource Assignment without Project Resource Management Module

Hi Dina,
We are implementing Oracle projects for one of our customers. The customer does not want to implement Project Resource Management module. Is it possible to assign resources to a project or create a new requirement using the Resources tab in Project screen (HTML page) without implementing the Project Resource Management module. Pls let us know.

With Project Management you can assign resources to the work plan. Resources might be named people or generic resource by job.
You can track planned hours by resource versus actual time worked, You can look at roll-up of planned hours across multiple projects for the same resource, or summarization of planned and actual hours using the RBS.
However, you will not get the functionality of demand published to resource managers, and the search functionality for available person to join the requiring project.

ORA-01436 CONNECT by loop in user data Oracle HRMS - How do I prevent this?

I am getting from time to time an error when users are performing tasks in Oracle HRMS that comes back as ORA-01436 CONNECT by loop in user data.
This issue is caused when there exists a loop in the Supervisor hierarchy.
For ex: Emp A reports to Emp B and Emp B reports to A
OR
Emp A reports to B and B reports to C and C reports to A.
It can be any of the above or if there are more approvers then there can be a
bigger loop.
This is described on Oracle Metalink Doc ID: 275819.1
This happens to us regularly; someone puts the manager of an employee as the subordinate of the 1st employee - of course this is not logically possible!
My question is how do i prevent this in the HRMS Manager tool or the Self Service functionality - I want the user to be informed and prevented from creating these infinite loops in the first place ...any ideas?

We suffer same the kind of issue but as you might have seen there is no immediate answer from Oracle about implementing a check within the Application forms/SS. In the end we wrote a report to hunt to locate loops in employee supervisor chain and report any circular references it finds. This report is scheduled to run every day and the customer reviews the output and then fixes the loops. Not ideal but we've not had chance to investigate a custom trigger say on the per_all_assignments_f table.

i explain my need :
i want to have the list of standard workflow processes defined for functions in HRSS.
So i want to know if they are saved in a system table, if it is the case, which program i must execute to have the result..
i read in this manual "Oracle Self-Service Human Resouces Deploy Self-Service Capability Guide" Chapter 4 that :
" SSHR uses workflow processes to combine related functions into a single transaction (for example, to add Special Information Types to Change Assignment or to Personal Information). and to control the transaction flow between the initiating user and other users such as a manager, an HR professional, or an applicant.
You use the Workflow Builder to look at the delivered processes which have been designed to support typical business processes."
i want to know which business processes are supported by SSHR.

What is Audit Trail in Oracle HRMS?

Plz give me idea about Audit Trail in Oracle HRMS.

Audit trail in HRMS is same as in any other module except the fact there is one extra process needs to be run in HRMS to make sure that it can handle date track data.
Coming to its use, it all depends on what your business requirements are and how much performance hit you are ready to take.

Has anyone implemented Variable Pay tracking in Oracle HRMS? By Variable Pay I mean:
Commission Plan: West Region Account Manager
Effective Date: 01-Jan-06
Annual Incentive Target: 95,000
Need to have the ability to track:
Effective dates on Base Pay and Incentive Target are independent
Update Via Manager Self Service
And Total Cash Comp (Base Pay + Variable)

As suggested in previous two responses, since you have 2 business groups, it is beneficial for you to go for multi-business group scenario. Thus, enabling Security groups based security.
Once this is enabled, the responsibilities to different users should be attached using the form 'Assign Security Profiles' in UK HRMS manager responsibility. Using this, you can attach required security profile (for the specific business group) and the responsibility to the user.
