Hi Dharm,
This is typically printed when we are short on memory.
What is OS version and JDK being using here ? 32bit or 64bit ?
Current Xms and Xmx values ?
Thanks,

  • Could Not Create Java Virtual Machine when lauching PS3 Meadis server

I suddenly get the following error message when trying to launch the PS3 Media Server, " COULD NOT CREATE JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE". I have tried uninstalling and installing both Java and the PS3 Media Server. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas or advice?

You changed something on your machine. Might help to remember what.
But to start with you first figure out if java itself is working. If it is then it is problem with the application and not java.

  • Error while installing SOA, "Could not create java virtual machine"

I am trying to install SOA latest release, but am getting an error stating "Could not create java virtual machine" and just that. No log, nothing. Could anybody help me out on this?

Is JRE installed on your machine?
If yes it may get corrupted, try to remove and reinstall jre again. Then try to install SOA.

  • Unrecognized option -a could not create Java Virtual Machine..?

    while using "java -classpath <axis jar files> -a <mywsdlfile>
i got the error message as 'Unrecognized option -a could not create Java Virtual Machine"
plz help me how to get rid of this?? i've successfully installed axis1.4 & tomcat6.

Sorry, I thought that you meant to pass "-a" to the java tool and not the WSDL2JAVA tool. "-a" is definitely a valid option for WSDL2Java.
But your error indicates that it is indeed trying to pass "-a" as an option to java, which is why the error is "unable to create Java Virtual Machine".
Try using the long format for the "-a" option which is "--async". (http://ws.apache.org/axis2/tools/1_0/CodegenToolReference.html).
    "java –classpath pathToJAR/Filename org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java --async pathToWsdl/WsdlFilename"

  • "Could not create Java virtual machine" for several XP SP3 clients

    Hi,
In this last year I got the message "could not create java virtual machine",
(suddenly, after several mounths without any kind of problem),
on 10-15 XP SP3 clients in our lan, lan in which all the 200 clients (90% XP SP3)
    have this application installed.
Every time the solution seems to be different:
sometimes the cause is a virus, sometimes i have to disinstall all Java components
and reinstall only the Java RE 6.0_23 (used by the application),
sometimes I have to make also a system registry cleaning for Java components,
only few times was enough to clear the Java cash, change the kind of Java network connection,
    delete the temporary files...
In two situations the problem was solved changing UltraVnc with RealVnc
and only once the user solved himself restarting the computer...
I'd like to know which is the meaning of this message and which steps is better
to follow in order to solve the problem in the shortest time.
    Thank You

    Thank you
    for anwering my question !
Anyway, in all the 10-15 cases I solved this problem, I hadn't to change the amount of RAM...
never... and, once solved, the computer client is ok and the application works without subsequent problems...
So, as I said, i can solve the problem without Knowing the real reason, and often after several
hours... (you can read in my previous comment about a lot of differences solutions...)
The matter is... that I can't understand "how and why" I solve the problem...
    Bye

No this is not a clustered environment.
yeah but under domains there are two domains we have created.
    i.e. domains/ domain1 domain2
both are having soa servers as managed server.
in one domain soa is up but in domain2 it is not getting up causing above errors while starting.
FYI : It is causing problem now only.. before this , soa server on both the server have been up & running simultaneously.

  • 'Could not create' and 'Fatal exception' while installing Java

    Win7 64bit
    latest Firefox
    Java 7.10 64 and 32 bit
    Hello!
Since weeks i have the following problem. Every time i want to install Java (62 or 64 bit), after the installation progress bar reached 100% and the windows closes i get 2 error messages, both containing the errors:
'Could not create Java Virtual Machine' and
'Fatal exception occured. Program will exit'
After closing both error messages i get the 'Installation successful' screen of Java again.
However, if i start firefox and go to a page requiring java (the official testing page for example), firefox freezes until i kill the process manually.
So far i reinstalled Java repeatedly, cleaning every trace of it on my system before doing so, including entrys in the microsoft uninstall wizard and the registry entrys, as described here:
    +hkey_local_machine>software>microsoft>windows>currentversion>uninstall
    search for "java"
    delete entrys+
    what is the programms problem??
edit: i cant acess java from the windows control panel either, i get the same error messages

I don't know that I'll be able to offer up any useful advice but here goes...
Can you enable extra verbose logging as part of the installation & post the results here or on pastebin.com?
jre-7u11-windows-i586.exe /l*vx c:\JavaInstall.log(feel free to adjust the log path to a more suitable location)
All of our users are local admins and tend to install whatever. This leads to a messy environment and we don't always know which version of Java is installed. So, to address that, I created a small script that scours 'HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall' for Java entries, reads the uninstall string then runs the reported uninstall string. The assumption here is that the uninstall string will be an MSI command. (All the machines & versions of Java used the same format.)
This is a Windows 7 Enterprise (32-bit) environment, but the script also works on 64-bit installations of Windows 7 Enterprise.
I've tested this with 7u11 and went as far back as 6u21. It should work with just about any version that uses MSI for uninstalling.
    @echo off
    setlocal enabledelayedexpansion
echo. & echo Checking for Obsolete Versions of Java...
    for /f "usebackq tokens=*" %%a in (`reg query HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall`) do (
         rem echo a is %%a

  • Could not create JVM error : Substitution

I am trying to create a substitution.
I created a new VO as an extension of the existing VO, and then changed the query to include some more columns.
    I followed the Dev guide:
    1. From the JDeveloper menu bar, select Project | Project Settings to open the Project Settings dialog box. Open the Runner page. In the Java Options field, enter: -Djbo.project=name where name represents the directory-qualified name of the project without the .jpx extension. For example: -Djbo.project=myProjects\ExtendProject
    I set it like this:
    -Djbo.project=D:\jdevhome\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\myprj1
    2. Open the Paths page and add the project's directory path to the Output directories field.
    Additional path: D:\jdevhome\jdevhome\myprojects
I am getting the following error message in a popup when I try to run the page from JDeveloper:
Java Virtual Machine Launcher: "Could not create Java virtual machine".
    any suggestions?

My bad, I added -Djbo.project=D:\jdevhome\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\myprj1 adding a semicolon after the existing java options.
I changed so that I appended the "Djbo" to the already existing path..like..
    -mx256m -Djbo.project=myprj1
i didnt even have to give the qualified path.. it works now..thank you

  • AuditLogFileException while starting a managed server

    Hi all,
I implemented custom JAAS authentication for WLS 7.0 server and console. There
are no issues with a standalone or single server in the domain. When testing an

    Hi,
Please remember to mark the answers accordingly... Helpful or correct... You will be helping the forum community by doing that.
First thing to fix is the Admin_URL, there should be something like:
-Dweblogic.management.server=http://localhost:7001How are you starting this managed server? Node manager or command line? Try both options and see if they bring up the same error.
    Cheers,
    Vlad

    oracle.dms.wls.DMSStartup - dms.jar
    oracle.core.ojdl.weblogic.ODLConfiguration - odl2.jar
    oracle.ias.cache.Startup -
    oracle.mds.lcm.weblogic.WLLifecycleListener
    oracle.dms.wls.DMSServletFilter
When checked I found jars related to above classes in BEAHOME/jdeveloper/modules folder.
are the jars also present some where in weblogic related folders.
Also "wsil-wls" and "dms" applications are not properly deployed in the ManagedServer.
When I am trying to deploy another application in managed server i get DMSServletFilter ClassNotFoundException.
I tried to add the above jars from jdeveloper folder to the POST_CLASSPATH in setDomainEnv.sh but i still get the same ClassNotFOundException while deploying.
Which config file should i update?
    Thank You.

I think you've changed and added some lines into your startWebLogic.sh script. Can you put your script here?

  • Could not create JVM in Windows 7 64-bit

    Hello,
I'm trying to launch my java web start application in a windows 7 64-bit machine (8 GB RAM) with the parameter -Xmx4g in the JNLP file (java version 1.6.0_27). I get the error "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine". When I reduce it to -Xmx1000m it launches fine but at some point my application crashes because of java.lang.OutOfMemoryError. When I run the jar file java -jar -Xmx4g MyApplication.jar from the command line it runs fine and never crashes.
The same application can be launched in windows XP SP3 (2GB RAM) with -Xmx1000m (java version 1.6.0_26) and never crashes.
So basically what I've concluded is that in the 64-bit my application runs out of memory (even though it works fine for the same dataset in the 32-bit) but I cannot find a way to address the extra memory I need from the JNLP file without having the error "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine".
I'm not sure if there is an obvious solution that I'm missing, I've looked online but I'm no wiser. I would appreciate any help!
    Thanks,
    Laura

I have a thought. 1gb works, 4gb does not. That seems to stem from the 32 bits limitation. However, you run this on a 64 bits CPU.
BUT! Are you trying this under Internet Explorer? I know from earlier problems that Windows 7 defaults to the *32 bits* version of Internet Explorer, even on 64 bits systems. Something to investigate.
