Cover art direct to iPod

Is there any way I can get iTunes to add cover art to my iPod rather than just to the iTunes library and then having to upload all the tracks onto the iPod again?

Hmmm... well I guess I am glad that it's not just me, but that makes no sense at all. I can't think from a technical point of view why that would be the case. The iPod itself has all the cover art stored, so why in the world would iTunes not be able to display it?
Sounds more like a bug to me.

  • Cover Art View for iPod

I use my 80 GB iPod as my main location for all my music, and pretty much only connect the iPod to my computer when I wish to manage my music or create new playlists, etc.
One thing I have noticed is that when I am browsing my music library from my iPod in iTunes, the only viewing mode available is the standard list view. The two "newer" views, the list view that shows you the cover art, and the nifty new cover art (or jukebox) view as I like to call it is not available when browsing the music on my ipod. The buttons are actually grayed out.
    Am I missing something?

  • Cover art synchs on Ipod, but music doesn't.

    Hello,
I've purchased a bunch of songs from an Itunes gift card. All the songs loaded onto my G5 as expected. But when I manually synched them onto my Ipod, the album art shows up, but not the music. When I attempt to play the song, the artwork appears for a brief second and then the Ipod jumps to the next song in the cue.
I next downloaded a free song of the week from the Itunes store and the same thing happened. The song loaded, but just the artwork synched.
I've tried to re-synch it over and over and I'm still just getting the album cover, not music. The songs still play on my IMac, but not on the Ipod.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Try removing the tick mark next to Sync Podcasts from under your iPod's Podcasts configuration tab in iTunes and applying the changes.  Once it has finished, reapply the sync option and again apply the changes to resync your iPod.
This should remove the stranded podcasts.
However, if it doesn't,  A restore of the iPod may be in order.

  • How do I fix the cover art in my iPod touch?

Podcast coverart has replaced many of my music file art.

See this article for different ways to preserver and extend your iPod's battery life and health.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html
How old is the iPod and are you letting it charge to full capacity each time?  Batteries do wear out over time and lose their ability to maintain a full charge at max capacity. It could just be a sign that the battery is wearing out and in need of replacement.

  • Cover Art Doesn't Display for New CDs, Podcasts, etc.

Cover art doesn't display for new items that I add to my 60GB iPod from iTunes. Older items are fine but new CDs, podcasts or songs purchased from iTunes don't display cover art on my iPod. The cover art is there when viewed in iTunes but just doesn't display when they are being played. The problem seems to have started about a month ago. Anyone experience something similar?

Thanks for the suggestion but.... it actually made the problem worse. When I went to the music tab I found that the "Display Cover Art" check box was unchecked so I clicked in the box and the fun began. First thing that happened was the iTunes status box displayed "Deleting covert art from iPod" (definately not what I would have expected) for about a minute then it changed to "Optimizing cover art on your iPod" (that seemed like a step in the right direction) but then I got an error message saying "Can't sync iPod. Unknow error". Closing out the error message ended the process. I was able to eject my iPod after that without any issues but now even more covert art doesn't display (even though when viewed through iTunes its there).

  • HT1933 Cover Art

I keep noticing that when I purchase a song or an album, the cover art seems to be blank when I scroll through the albums. Though when I click on the ablum the cover art is back. I don't understand why it does it but it only happens on my Ipods. Though some of the cover art seems to be there but it's weird that some of them aren't. As I'll show in the image, two of the ablums I have purchased do not show the cover art when it's in this display but when selected, the cover art is there. It's not a problem or anything, I just want to know why it does that.

  • Cover art mismatch

    Hello,
I've had the same problem with my iPod Classic but now I have it with my 6th generation Nano: After syncing with iTunes I have completely mixed up cover art on my iPod.
On the Classic I could fix it thanks to a tip I found here, by selecting 'Don't copy artwork to iPod' in iTunes and re-syncing afterwards. It seems however that this function is not available for the Nano. Does anyone have a way to fix this? I don't like the idea of having to re-sync the entire 16 Gb everytime this happens because of a software/syncing bug in iTunes.........

Unfortunately it does seem the ONLY option to reset and resync. In other words there is no solution or fix, it's really a shame. I chose to have my music on the iPod re-encoded to 128 kbps AAC files, so it can carry more music, but resyncing will take a long time, almost a full day, to re-encode 16 Gb worth of music in 128 kbps. If there was a fix just to resync the coverart it should not have to take so long.
I spend a lot of time on keeping my music collection well tagged and orderly. I have ripped more than 600 cd's and 200 vinyl records (and counting) to my iTunes collection and searched (and scanned) and added cover art manually for most of the releases since iTunes doesn't always have a good source for cover art or doesn't recognize a specific edition of an album (or cd singles in particular).
It seems from time to time iTunes damages the coverartfiles (sometimes I find an old album suddenly has just a grey square as cover). Maybe it's because my iTunes library is on an external (FW800) disk. I don't know. However, the damaged coverart in the iTunes library seems a totally different problem than the mismatch in syncing with the iPod. Even after I've fixed all the coverart the syncing problem reoccurs.
It's strange Apple can't get the syncing right since it's their hardware and their software one would say it shouldn't be too hard to make the syncing perfect.
It seems however there's a double standard in storing the covers, some files have them embedded and others are downloaded to mysterious directory structures inside the iTunes Library folder. Why the double standard? Isn't that one of the causes for these problems?

  • CD cover art into Nano?

How do I get the CD cover art into my iPod Nano or into iTunes? This used to happen automatically with my old MP3 player?

  • IPOD TOUCH - podcasts=crash- Cover art mixed up- Cover Flow   HElp

    Hey
    I have a 2nd Gen Ipod Touch - Best thing ever =)
but I have a couple of problems that may have been adressed before
    but -
    1. When I play NOVA VODCAST| PBS podcasts ( only certain ones) like Brain Trauma or Stem cell Or SAVING HUBBLE The ipod shows -- random white dots then it crashes and takes quite a bit of time to reboot -Are you guys getting the same thing?
    2.Why can't I delete songs?
    3. I have a video on my ipod but the cover art for it is from some other TV shoe I got from itunes but then deleted. Only for 1 video , odd
    4. When I go to Cover flow - certian albums just dissapear when they're at the center however they appear. Also in cover songs are listed under the album but cerrtian songs when played dont display the album
    5. The time changes whenever I sync- Its annoying _ anything other than opening itunes beforehand ?
    -Thanks
and how would you guys recomend invisible shield?
and does any of this warrant a exchange/replacement

It's because iTunes is a piece of crap! Corrupt album art for cover flow has been a big problem for the longest time....and Apple WON'T fix it! In a earlier version of iTunes (ver 8 I think), there was a setting that people found out would fix the artwork if it got mixed up (I think it was the "sync artwork" checkbox but I am not sure). With version 9 however, Apple, in all it's infinite wisdom, decided to remove this option and now the only way to fix this issue is to RESTORE!! And that is completely B.S!! I am getting so sick and tired of this crap! I added a album (WOW....10 whole songs), and now every one of my 105 albums are showing the wrong artwork! Apple needs to remove this "database" bullsh** and go back to reading the info DIRECTLY from the tags.

  • How can i add custom art to playlist cover on iPad/iPhone/iPod?

I make a lot of custom playlists, with songs from multiple albums and sometimes multiple artists in one playlist.
Most are created on my Macbook Pro OS 10.6.8 (iTunes 10.6.1) and manually copied over to the devices- i don't automatically synch because my music libary is too big and complex. IE, iTunes is set to Manually Manage Music for these devices.
On my i-devices (primarily iPad 2 and iPhone 4), the playlists show up without art work for the playlist, just a generic picture of a musical note, even tho on the source Macbook the songs have cover art.  I find this actually dangerous for use in my car, because it forces me to read the playlist titles. Just glancing at pictures would be much safer, quicker, and easier. But i can't find a way to make all the playlists show cover art.
Playlists i create on the devices themselves DO show a tiled image of all the album covers for the art work.... which is fine. but i can't figure out a way to get playlists that are copied over from my Macbook to show art... and that's the main source of my playlists.
    help?
i have too many devices -there's also an older iPod Touch i use in addition to the iPad and iPhone- and too many playlists to create each playlist on each device from scratch so that it shows artwork.
    Anyone have suggestions?
(btw, if solution involves upgrading to Lion, i can't; i have software i have to use that doesn't work in Lion).

ps iPad 2 is iOS 5.1

  • What happened to my cover art? It's all still in my iTunes library, but some of it missing on my iPod Touch, and appears instead as a white square with a gray music note or a black square. Please help me out.

Plus, some of the cover art is mixed up and some of the covers have even been replaced with combinations of multiple albums. And every once in a while, a song will play on its own, without me pressing play, and it skips as if I'm holding the forward button. This iPod is only a few months old so I'm really worried! This just started today after I had it plugged into my computer and synced it. It might have been caused by a tree that fell and knocked out the power in our area while the iPod was plugged in. Can someone please tell me how to fix it? Would taking it into an Apple store help?

    Hello Philly,
I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?)  touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

  • New iPod Touch 4g music/cover art problems.

I just got my new iPod Touch on Monday and I was syncing music onto it (manually) today and all of a sudden, the cover art on most of my albums/songs were erased. Should I get a new iPod or is there any way to fix it? I really don't want to restore it already when I can just go get a new one if I'll have problems with this one in the future. Also, on my 2g iPod Touch, I could manually add lyrics, cover art, and other things within the iPod music list itself. Now, the cover art doesn't show up when I edit from there. Any suggestions as to what's going on and what I should do?

i hope i'm not late but AFTER SO LONG OF SEARCHING EVERYWHERE ( i had this problem)  i myself tried an experiment
and i finally found what works
you're not alone in this LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ****** PROBLEM  because of iOS 5
anyways here is what you have to do (  it's kind of hard to understand so i hope you do )
go to your device ( in itunes) and mark off the sync music tab then click apply or sync ( this will wipe out all of your music)
then you click the box again & you click sync ( this will put the  music back into your ipod )
    NOW we're not done yet
quickly go to music ( in your itunes library) and just go around each song , like just clicking each song ( even twice if u want) and this will make the album covers appear onyour ipod ( u have to hurry before it stops syncing)
so a faster way to do it is to just go to music in your library and the arrows ( in your computer's keyboard)
ya know the arrows that are like up & down, left & right
well.. quickly go over each album cover or song cover with the left and right arrows
and if some of the covers don't go tru just click enter as if you were going to listen to them
I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS BECAUSE IT HELPED ME and i know how annoying this is and i want people to do this because it really works
    best of luck .xx

  • Ipod failing to sync properly and cover art does not copy

Hello. My ipod wont sync properly, fails after about 10 albums with unknown error -53, and album cover art does not copy (fine in itunes). Have restored etc. Have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes software etc.
Have tried apple support helpline; send ipod off twice, just received replacement new/refurbished ipod today (as on 2nd attempt apple technicians found a problem they called "specific performance symptoms" with the old one).
New replacement one has the same problem as old one!
Has anyone seen this problem or had any joy getting a refund?... Any help much appreciated, thanks.

    Select the iPod in iTunes.
    Click the Music tab.
Are you selecting Sync all playlists?
Or if you are choosing Selected p[laylist, mkae sure all the playlists you want to sync are checked.

  • On itunes on my computer I put all my songs into the right albums and cover art on the albums but it doesn't show up that way on my ipod

On itunes on my computer I took the time to sort my songs put them by the correct artists and albums and got all the cover art for it but when i go to put it that way on my iPod it doesn't work that way? Why is it showing multiple albums for the same album and no cover art for some albums and unknown artists for the artist? It says differently on Itunes on my computer.

    Hi adtsalmon,
You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Here's the link to the Movie Rentals FAQs site FYI:

    Hope this helps!

  • Is there any way to hide album cover art in ipods, ipads, iphones?

I have downloaded a number of songs that my kids like to listen to, but the cover art for those songs is inapropriate for my kids to view.  Is there a way that they can have the music on their ipod without the cover art poping up all the time?
    Thanks!

The only way is to delete the artwork in iTunes on the compute and then sync.
