CPU Multiplier is Not Visible

Brand New build:  i5 4670k + z97 Gaming 5.  BIOS and all drivers/utilities have been updated via Live Update 6 as of this morning.
My problem is that when I access the BIOS "Overclocking Settings", the actual CPU multiplier itself is not visible (even in Advanced mode).  Turboboost is enabled.  So I'm not actually able to adjust my CPU multiplier beyond the stock value (34x).  But when I toggle the Overclock Genie, the CPU multiplier finally appears with a fixed multiplier of 40x (which I am not able to manually alter).
Any idea what I'm missing here?

Yeah, I'm afraid that I've already tried that.  I just tried it again and no luck.  I'm going to try resetting CMOS and see what happens.
Well, it is not possible that it doesn't work. Just scroll to where it says "CPU Ratio  AUTO" so AUTO is higlighted and use +/- keys of your numpad to alter settings.

    I have a system based on the P6N Sli-F1 Bios ver 2.3

System runs fine and is faultless.
My problem seems to be getting the cpu to run at the speed I set it at. Even with "speedstep" manually disabled it lowers the multiplier under normal use and only speeds up when under load. Have  an E4300, E4400 and a lovely E2160 which all have the same results.
Also.....Every time I set the BOOT order so that my HD is first and the rest disabled, upon re-entry to bios, boot order reverts back to having all boot devices in list.
Incidently I have run all 3 cpu's and run the usual benchmarks once a sweetspot is found.
Results conclude....E4400 MO stepping is crap compared to the baby E2160 which is only a couple of points short of my best result with the E4300 [3.4] on standard cooler.
All 3 cpu's stay set at their maximum on my sons Gigabyte GA-G31MX-S2 which is a lowly board in comparison.
Anyone any tips before I decide to buy another motherboard to try maybe the XFX MB-N650-IUL9 NF650i Ultra cos I dont need SLi

Isn't that a good thing? Are you experiencing any performance problems or lags?
The feature that is responsible for this behaviour is called C1E [Enhanced Halt State].  There is a hidden BIOS Option somewhere named "C1E-Support".  Press F4 while you are in BIOS to make it visible.  The default setting is AUTO or Enabled.
I am running a slightly overclocked system with C1E-Support enabled.  In the last 12 month I have experienced no perfomance problems or lags.  I kind of like the idea that the CPU is running at full speed only when it needs to.  Also note, that the CPU multiplier is not the only thing that is automatically adjusted.  VCore is decreased as well when system is IDLE.  The helps to lower power consumption and keeps temperatures down a bit as well.

  • Indesign transparency multiply pdf/x-1a pdf/x-4 export pdf object not visible

    Hello,
I've created a simple Indesign cs4 document under osx demonstrating the problem. I've copied from an Indesign document a rectangle with a fill color 100% cyan and a transparency effect multiply and paste the object within a new created document. I've paste the same rectangle again and switched off the transparency effect. Then I've create a new rectangle again with the same fill color and multiply transparency effect.
When I create a pdf with the standard pdf/x-4 settings the copied rectangle with the multiply transparency effect has disappeared, while the other 2 rectangles are visible. Creating a pdf with the standard pdf/x-1 settings in Indesign, then all 3 rectangles are visible.
I've created a zip file named Indesign.zip with the following 3 elements:
    - multiply.indd - indesign document
    - pdfx1.pdf - export pdf with pdf/x1 settings (3 rectangles are visible)
    - pdfx4.pdf - export pdf with pdf/x4 settings (only 2 rectangles are visible)
Opening the document with CS5 and creating pdf files, we obtain the same strange result.
You can download the zip file from the following link:
    http://www.symeta.be/symeta/static/files/Indesign.zip
How do we explain this peculiar problem?
    Regards,

    Peter, John,
If there is no solution finding corrupt objects before going to production (creating pdf files), then the problem is only detected when the job is printed! More important, if the corrupt object is located in an advertisement, then you customer wouldn't pay.
To further investigate the problem I've create 2 snippets with the following names:
    - Snippet_Good_PDFx4_Result.idms (snippet of the object who's visible after conversion to pdf/x-4)
    - Snippet_Wrong_PDFx4_Result.idms (snippet of the object who's not visible after conversion to pdf/x-4)
You can download these snippets from the following link.

    Then the result is ok!
The bad one has very strange coordinate values, such as 35298.673065771356 which is about 12452 mm! When placing the bad snippet in a new Indesign document the result is ok, just after converting to pdfx/4 the object isn't visible anymore!
Who can justify this strange behaviour?

  • How to know if a scrollbar is been drawn if the JScrollPane is not visible.

I have a JTabbedPane with one JPanel in each tab. Each of these panels contains one JLabel with a JTextBox on the top and under it the rest is filled with a JScrollPane containing a JTable. I am using a GridBagLayout.
Now, the requirement is that the JTextBox must have the same length as the content of the JScrollPane; it means that if the JScrollPane has a vertical scroll, the JText has to be shorter on the right side by whatever the scroll width is, but if there's no vertical scroll then the JTextBox must be extended to the top of the right side.
Now, this that looks so simple is becoming a nightmare...
The main problem here is that this check to look if the JScrollPane has a scroll or not is done in tabs that are not visible, so i cannot use just a simple isVerticalScrollVisible() because the answer is always NO. I have been trying to catch all the events i could think may help but no luck and sometimes a refresh in one of the tabs produces the JTextField in another tab gets a wrong width.
One posible approach is the length of the total rows of the JTable, multiply it by the row height and compare it with... with what because the scroll is not visible and the heigh is 0.
Any ideas? Any one knows how can i know if the the silly scrollbar is visible or not in a non visible tab?
    Thanks in advance.

  • CPU MULTIPIER WILL NOT CHANGE ON K7N2-L

    Hi all,
I am having problem on changing the cpu multipier on the bios setup.  I have tried to lower it, but the Mhz remains the same after the change.  I have the lastest bios and I just don't know why.  I thought the mobo was able to unlock the cpu multipier.  I have a XP1700.

i ve a chart in a scrollpane. when i m chaging the content of the graph explicitly, the region which is not visible is not getting repainted. any suggestions on how to about this.
    Thanks

If its not visible how do you know its not getting
    repainted?
i ve a number of graphs(jfreecharts) in the scrollpane. I m zooming them synchronously, some of them r hence not visible. But unlessl i scroll down once to see all the graphs and then zoom, i get exceptions as the graph has not been drawn. The same applies when i make some other explicit changes without having the graph in view.
This is done on purpose for better response time. Why

  • GT735 CPU Multiplier

I'm not sure if this is standard for this model or if I'm having an isolated issue. I have found nothing in my online searches. When on battery mode, my CPU multiplier is permanently set at 2.75 which translates to a measly 500Mhz final CPU clock. Initial Windows boot takes anywhere from 5 - 10 minutes. I can't even watch movies on battery power without terrible stuttering and audio/video synchronization issues. I'd like to fix this issue with a simple multiplier tweak, but the BIOS is extremely limited in usability. What options do I have to correct this issue?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Agreed, but that still doesn't explain the lower than optimal performance under battery power. A dying battery should only produce a shorter life, not lower performance. The only way it could have lower performance is if a cell went bad, which would also drop the voltage and make the system inoperable.
Either this or software issue, look the tips above should solve it.
If issue persist you may consider Vista re-install.

However, that seems to be a small side problem compared to the BIOS issues I'm experiencing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there should be a "Chipset Configuration" under the version 1.0Q BIOS. I do not have that option. Would you recommend trying to re-flash the BIOS?

  • Cannot Increase CPU Multiplier - Help?

    Here's my problem:
I've unlocked the CPU Multipliers on my AMD XP-1600+ by
connecting the L1 bridges.  System boots & runs OK with
stock (10.5 x 133) multiplier value (I'm running that right
now).  I can also reduce the multiplier (10 x 133).
    When I try to increase it (11 x 133) the system won't
POST; I have to power-off/on (then I get to re-enter ALL
    BIOS data). javascript:smilie('X(')
    Mad
Can anyone give me a clue what's wrong?  Have I blown
the unlocking; will my mobo just not support increased
multipliers...??  I've had the system running stable @ 148
Mhz FSB before unlocking it (and at least 140 Mhz after).
    Here is my H/W setup:
    KT7266-Pro (6380) Ver 1.0 mobo with Ver 1.9 BIOS
    Ver 4.43 4-in-1 Drivers, Ver 30.82 Detonator.

Thanks for the reply wonkanoby - yes, I did;  first cleaned
out the 'ash' then filled them with JB-Weld.
This is the 2nd time I've tried unlocking.  The first time, the
BIOS reported clock speed as 1200 Mhz no matter what I
did.  Well, I hope the 3rd time does it - that's a bloody
tedious job, even with a 5x 'hands-free' magnifier.
BTW, what do you recommend for removing rear-window
de-fogger paint?  I've been using acetone.

  • MBA2012 cpu multiplier wrong and no turbo boost in Windows7

    MBA2012 Corei 7 2.0GHz/ MEM 8GB / SSD 128G.
    core i7 3667U, it support turbo boost, max multiplier 3.2GHz (x32, 2core), or 3.0GHz(x30, 1core).
but check cpu-z 1.60.1.x64, it reports cpu multiplier x8 or x19.
core speed does not rearch 2.0GHz(x20) and can not turbo boost.

It is assumed in the model CTO in the initialisation of the MSR in EFI, is to set the Target P-State and 19 at the time of turbo boost, and the root cause of the bug (I originally set 32 is correct).
As a temporary workaround, in the application of the Throttle Stop, but it was confirmed that Turobo Boost working effectively, then, I tried to examine the state of the MSR at the before and after application of the Throttle Stop.
As a result, the following was found.
    • The CTO model EIST, Turbo Boost is enabled.
    • However, in the CTO model, Target P-State is closed when the Turbo Boost is set to 19-fold. Therefore, (Current P-State) can not be set to at least 19-fold magnification of the CPU.
    • When you execute the Throttel Stop, so that can be set to 32 times the Target P-State of Turbo Boost, will be able to raise up to 32 times also (Current P-State) magnification of the CPU.
In fact, before and after execution of the Throttle Stop, appears similar to the following and see the state of the MSR. (The value of the MSR, Save Report(.TXT) of the "About" → "Tools" of CPU-Z in the, you can see)

    ⇒ enable EIST, enable TurboBoost, the current P-State 30 , the target P-State 32
From the above, CTO model, at the time of initialization when the switch to Windows, it would have been set to 0x1E (0x00001E00: DEC
    19) is target Performance State Value is IA32_PERF_CTL of MSR in the BootCamp is a cause of trouble, 0x20 (0x00001E00:DEC 32) you can determine it because it does not, and has been a state that does not increase the magnification was also an attempt to invoke the turbo boost when under load.

  • How I Re-Unlocked My CPU Multiplier - Z77A-GD65

This whole inconvenience started when I flashed to the latest BIOS for my board. I was curious about the "- Support Windows8 feature" that it had in the description, and so I went for it. Previously, I had already updated my BIOS to version 10.6 without a problem.
After completing the BIOS update, I went into the Click-BIOS II and explored the new options. Boo! Nothing that really benefited me or that seemed "cool" so I just went on with my day. I started to notice that my game (League of Legends) was loading a little slower than before, and that's when I remembered that I had not reset the overclocking options that I had before. I went back into the BIOS and tried to reset my options. No go! Oh, wait! OC Genie! Nope! Flash backup BIOS! Nope, nope, nope! My CPU was hopelessly limited to a multiplier setting range of 16-38.
There are many things that I read and tried that didn't give me back the option to go beyond a multiplier setting of 38, but I will not discuss those now, unless someone asks. Therefore, the following is the exact process that I used that finally allowed me to fully re-unlock my CPU multiplier settings.
    Hardware Specs:
    Motherboard: Z77A-GD65
    CPU: Core i5-3570K
    Memory: 8GB Corsair Dominator 1866
Boot HD: Samsung 830 Series SSD
    OS: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
    GPU: MSI nVidia 660-Ti OC
    What that you will need:
    PATIENCE!
Beverage of Choice (Coffee, Beer, Tea, etc...) - VERY IMPORTANT
USB Stick Drive (FAT32, Quick Format)
BIOS Versions: 10.3, 10.5, 10.6 - You can put them all on the USB stick at the same time.
    About 1 Hour
These instructions assume that you are starting from BIOS version 10.7 (like I did), but they may work even if you are not currently on that version.
Step 1: Double clear CMOS memory - While machine is turned off and unplugged, hold the "Clear_CMOS" button for 10 seconds. Next, remove the battery (in front of PCIE Slot 1 under dedicated graphics card (in case you forgot ^_^)). Walk away and get a second serving of your favorite beverage. Rum and coke FTW!
Step 2: Put CMOS battery back into its place.
If you have NOT touched (flashed) your backup BIOS then follow instructions for 3A (This is what I did!). If you HAVE flashed it already, follow instructions for 3B.
Step 3A1 : Set BIOS selector switch to 2nd bios (move it to the other side from where it was). Boot into BIOS settings, navigate to BIOS flash menu and select "MultiBIOS flash". It will prompt you if you want to restore the BIOS and select Yes. This will return the "primary" BIOS to the same version that you had on your second BIOS, provided that you have not touched your "backup" BIOS.
Step 3A2: After your machine is done with flashing BIOS, it will restart and attempt to load the OS, it will most likely not find an OS. Go back into the BIOS and check your multiplier settings, mine was still limited to 38; if yours are back to normal and everything works for you and you don't mind being on version 10.3, then good job and you're done! Don't forget to have a good laugh and to feel good about yourself  . Otherwise, turn off your computer and for 10 seconds press and hold the "Clear_CMOS" button in the back.
Step 3A3: Flash BIOS 10.3 over the restored primary BIOS and you should be able to recover the "UEFI Windows Boot Manager" option in the "UEFI" boot manager. Check BIOS settings again, my multiplier was still limited to 38. Go to Step 4.
Step 4: Boot into Windows and reinstall the Intel ME drivers. If the driver installs okay then go to Step 5. If driver installation says "your hardware does not meet requirements", go to Step 4B.
Step 4B: This happened to me at some point in trying to fix my BIOS, and so I'm covering it for those that might find themselves in the same situation right now. If the ME driver installation says that your computer does not meet the requirements, then that means that your ME firmware got wiped or corrupted. If you go into your BIOS and check your System Information, you will get the following screen. Where it says "ME Version" that will be blank, no number there. To fix it is quite simple, simply "Flash BIOS" version 10.6, reboot into BIOS and then select "Flash BIOS and ME", select version 10.6 (XXXXXXXX.A60) file.
Step 5: Boot into BIOS, flash BIOS version 10.5, reboot into Windows, reinstall Intel ME drivers.
Step 6: Repeat step 5 but this time flash BIOS (Not Flash BIOS and ME) version 10.6.
Step 7: Boot into BIOS, and this time in the flash menu select "Flash BIOS AND ME", and select version 10.6".
Step 8: Boot into BIOS and CONGRATULATIONS your CPU multiplier is back to normal.

NOTE: You will not get the selection menu for the multiplier, but you can change it with + or -, or by typing in the number. Previously, any time I would type anything above 38, it would simply go to 38. Good luck!
P.S.: I don't care much for stress testing my current OC setup because everything that I do works great (no errors/restarts for 4 months) and is not highly-hardware demanding for long periods of time. League of Legends max settings is easily handled by the hardware configuration and that's pretty much the most intense use that it gets.

  • My new budget box: some USB problems, and CPU multiplier question

    radeon all-in-wonder 7500

it's mainly for an entertainment center, going in/out to/from a 5.1 reciever, tv, dvd player, the works.
maybe some light gaming too, nothing harder to run than halo.
i had to reuse the d-bracket from my old k7n266 board, the new one didn't come with one. :(
and for some reason its usb ports do not work: neither do my two front usb ports that are built
into the case. the onboard ports all seem to work, andwindows shows in device manager:
standard enhanced pci to usb controller (x1),
standard openhcd usb host controller (x2),
and usb root hub (x3). pretty sure that means they all should work? i've swapped the plugs

to get these working, if not, anyone have any other ideas?
also wondering where i should set my cpu multiplier, i generally understand that it's 166mhz *12.5 with
this processor, does that sound about right? i haven't set the muliplier yet in the bios, i just left it at
"cpu default". i'm waiting to get a new cpu fan before i mess with that. i was wondering if my admittedly
slow ram is at risk with either of these settings, i'm not looking to buy more anytime soon (my laptop
is my "real" computer anyway, handles doom3 pretty well). actually i'm kind of confused on the
motherboard's fsb: it's supposed to be 400mhz, but it only goes up to 200 settable in bios? or is that
400mhz calculated only in windows, when you get the nforce2 drivers going?

CPU multipliers on the bartons are locked. You need to do a mod to be able to change it.
With your memory being 266MHz that will hold you back. You may be able to overclock it so it is running the 333MHz but your system may become unstable. You may want to consider getting PC2700 memory or better.
As far as the USB, make sure you do not have pin 10 plugged in (there is no connector for pin 9). There are some topics talking about this. Just do a quick search. Or as phextor mentioned there are some stickys about it. Read through them and try the suggestions, if that doesn't work post back and we will try to get it taken care of. As far as bios settings on some I know there is an option on how many USB ports are in the system. This is usually under integrated peripherals. Make sure it is at 8 ports or all.
    Good Luck

  • External hard drive not visible in disk utility or finder

    Hi all,
I have had a good look through previous discussions and I can't seem to find an issue relevant to mine.
My external hard drive has 2 partitions (1 time machine back up, 1 general hard drive). The issue is that the HD is running when it is plugged in however it is not visible in either disk utility or finder.
I am running OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) on a 2010 MacBook Pro. I also have parallels desktop running windows 7. When I boot windows and plug in the HD I usually get the option to mount the HD to either OS X or Windows. With this issue the option window appears for a split second (not enough time to select either) and then disappears. It seems that the HD may be ejecting itself as soon as it is registered by the computer. I have tried using a different power cable for the HD and also a different usb cable, this doesn't help.
The external HD is a Samsung D3 Station, which i have had for 6 months now and never had an issue with.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks,
    Bruce

An update for anyone who can help me:
I have tried the external hard drive in other computers (mac and windows), each time I get the same problem above.
I have removed the HD from the enclosure and purchased a docking station for it (3.5" SATA). When I plug it in to the laptop it disconnects itself straight away before it is visible. With the windows computers it installs the drivers and says that the device is ready to use, then disconnects before it shows up.
As the HD is not visible there is no option to re-format or anything.
This is very frustrating as I was using the HD with no issues and it randomly disconnected and I have not been able to access since.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Hi - I am looking for the Adobe Illustrator 2014 1.2 (or .0.2) bugfix update for Mac - and it is not visible in the Adobe Creative Cloud Packager (Mac version). The only update visible is Illustrator CC 2014.1  - which is what introduced the bugs.

The only thing that I can think of that might be causing the issues that I have a Mac Mini on Mavericks.

    Hi
I have discovered that my question above is a non-question. A user triggered by looking at the below article about Illustrator 2014 cc 17.0.2
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/release-note/illustrator-17-0-2-release-notes.html
He had recently upgraded from wht we now know is 18.0 to 18.1 which is the latest version. He read the above artic
le and supposed that it was a bug fix release for his version - because the v17 ov18 number is not often displayed. It is usually just 2014 CC.
I have asked him to post a bug report about Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.1

  • IDOC not visible in IR but metadata successfully imported

    Hi,
    I have this wiered issue.
I want to import IDOC WPUSKR01 (cashier productivity) from BI.
But when I connect to BI system from IR to import Idoc structure, this IDOC is not visible.
But I can manually import the metadata from BI in idx2.
Now how to import this in IR?
I have imported other Idocs (like WPUBON) before and did the scenario successfully for BI.
    Regards,
    Anirudh Vyas.

    Hi,
In BI Tcode we82 I have manually added the entries for WPUKSR01. Now Idoc is visible when importing in IR.
I have checked all the segments in we31, they are all released.
    But it gives error:
Error: IDoc type WPUKSR01 contains errors (unable to read segments)
Then, I checked in R/3, there also WPUKSR01 was not there in we82. I manually added there and I was successfully able to import it in IR.
But the same thing is failing in BI. I have SAPALL permissions in all the systems.
Can I use Idoc imported from R/3 in scenario for BI?
    regards,
    Anirudh.
