Crackling sound on Windows 7 x64 with K9N neo V 1.0

Hi
I installed Windows 7 x64 ultimate on my computer yesterday and everything worked fine except the audio, I installed the latest realtek drivers from MSI for x64 windows vista/7. But still I got the problem that it play fine and suddenly it "cracks" for less than a second and then it's like fastforwarding the missed ~halfsecond.
My hardware is:
4600+ X2 amd athlon
Ms-7260 ver 1.0 k9n neo nForce 550
6Gb of 667 MhZ kingston ram (2x2GB, 2x1GB)
GTS250 1024 mb MSI
samsung 500gb internal sata hdd (which windows 7 x64 ultimate is installed on)
q-tec 650w powersupply
The audio works perfectly in windows xp x86 and has done that the last 3+ years.
Is there a "fix" for this?
Thanks in advance

Oh man, this is quite some time ago that I could do this...
here it comes, BRASE YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EVERYBODY GET OF THIS FORUM NOW!!
THERE IS A FIRE HAZARD!!
A Q-TEC POWER SUPPLY HAS BEEN SPOTTED!!
LEAVE NOW, WHILE YOU CAN!!!!
Man, that's quite some time ago I could do this...
I know, you may find it a bit overdone but really, a Q-Tec PSU is just one piece of junk. It's just some componetns thrown into a box and then they call it a power supply. Did you actually feel the weight of that thing? I bet you didn't. It weighs nothing, so you can't even use it as a door stop or paerweight.
Really, shut down your pc, take it out and throw it away. Be careful not to hit someone while doing that. (I mean, throw it in the bin or take it back to the guy who sold you this thing).
Get a good power supply. One with enough juice on the 12V-line. Take a psu with one 12V-rail. A good psu will cost you, but you will most certainly notice the difference.

  • Crackling Sound Problems in Games with an Audigy

    Hello everybody,
I started playing Warcraft III, World of Warcraft and Battlefield2 quite a while ago and at that time I did not have any problems in game. Until one day I started playing World of Warcraft and a crackling sound appeared. This sound was amplified in close places such as caves and houses and became sincerely annoying when several characters were on screen.
The sound itself looks like a crispy sound of fireworks and it hides usual sounds.
I noticed that this problem was particularly present in Warcraft an World of Warcraft and sometimes in Battlefield2.
My PC does not lack in power (Athlon FX-55, Ati Radeon X-800 XT...)and has an Audigy Sound Blaster 2ZS and a 2. Gigaworks sound system.
The problem appeared on its own and i did not activate any particular program. I tried playing with a headset and the sounds remained. I do not have any problems when listening to music.
I noticed that when I raised the bass and diminish the trebble, the sound lessens but it is still present.
Any help would be truly appreciated.
    Sincerely, Dimitri

    "How old is everyones card"
mine is 2 years old, generally my Creative cards li've aroud 5 years.
"I also notice I get it after a while of playing bf2..."
This kind of problem is more often software than hardware. Don't forget sound as every other things in your pc need a code implementation. It can be a bug in the drivers, but also because of one, present in your game sound engine (not the first time I would see it).
    "I too have enough power..."
If your soundcard or any of your pc ocmponent wasn't receiving enough power, you would have other annoyances, like (no sound, or even reboots)
"see there are some beta drivers posted. Anyone try these?"
I prefer no using beta releases, sorry. This new drivers should do what they're said they do (see the details notes), but could also behave differently from one computer to another (the joy of betas).

  • How to install apex on windows x64 with 10gR2?

    Hello,
today I tried to install the http-server for our 10gR2-database. We are using windows x64.
But I cant find OHS for this release. How can I install apex then?
    Regards,
    Mark

have you tried the installation, or did you just ask in advance?
in the last wekks i did a lof of installation stuff on an x64 system using the old x32 versions. even oracle sw like 10.2.0.3 client etc.
and most oft the stuff was up and running just like on an x32 system.
just keep in mind that the directory structure an x64 is slightly different #
if u install x32 software the default installation path is "C:\Program Files (x86)" and in the registry a speacial key hklm\software\wow6432node
just in case you need to patch.
in my opinion it would be worth to give i a try, but remember not on a productive system.
i'd like to hear about your results
    regards peter

  • HP Pavilion G60-635DX - No Sound in Windows 8 with Conexant Pebble High Definition Smart Audio

    All,
I would like to report a bug when using the Conexant Pebble High Definition Smart Audio Driver in Windows 8.
    First, a bit of background:
    Product Name/Number - HP Pavilion G60-635DX
    Operating System - Windows 8 Professional x64 (Build 9200)
Sound Driver / Version - Conexant Pebble High Definition Smart Audio (Version 4.98.60.50)
    BIOS -  Latest version
This is a unique situation due to the fact that the Conexant sound driver installs fine in Windows 8 and shows all signs that the device is working properly:
    1. You receive a speaker icon (Without red X) on the task bar.
    2. No device conflicts in device manager
    3. Device properties show device is 'Working Properly'
Here is the issue, I decided to do an in-place upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7 and the process went fine, however when I was up and running in Windows 8, I was receiving no audio. I uninstalled and reinstalled the device driver, I uninstalled and reinstalled the sound controller and I also disabled and re-enabled the services that are responsible for Windows sound. I also ran the Microsoft troubleshooting wizard for fixing audio issues in Windows 8. The wizard was unable to find any issues.
Finally, I decided to do a full wipe/format of the system and install from scratch. This still did not fix the issue. I know for a fact my physical speakers are functioning because they were working in the Windows 7 instance.
I have been doing research and I'm finding that other people are having similar issues with other Conexant drivers in Windows 8. I call this a bug because the driver shows all signs of compatibility, however no sound is produced.
I cannot seem to find any solutions to this issue so I have resulted in going back to Windows 7 where my sound is currently working. If there are no solutions to this problem, I would appreciate if an administrator can forward this report to the necessary parties so a solution can be developed.
    Thank you,
    Eric

I have a G60t-500 CTO and am having the same issue. When I ran the pre-installation check with Microsoft, none of the audio drivers provided an error.  I installed over my Windows7 Pro 64-bit installation and all went well.  Love the new Windows 8 graphics.  But no sound.  Nada.  I looked at the list of beta drivers that was included in the link in the above post but it's the exact same driver that's installed.  So much for that option.  There is no good information online.  You have to dig through a bunch of crap and try to avoid the vendors who want you to buy their driver fixing software package (no thank you very much).
I did try to do a reinstall of the audio driver.  Windows recommended I set the compatibility to WinXP SP3.  It installed, no errors, but still no sound.  Tried to install to make it compatible with Windows 7 but got the same results ... nothing.
My laptop is only 4 years old.  I bought it in November, 2008.  I have no intention of buying a new one but if I want to go to Windows 8, it seems I'll have to do that.  I paid the $50 for Win8 Pro AND Media Center.  Now I have to see if I could get my money back (I seriously doubt it).  This is just another ploy to get you to make another computer purchase of you want to upgrade.  Every disappointing.    My husband needs a new laptop.   I'm steering him clear from HP and sending him to Asus (he does NOT want an Apple).

  • Problems Export/Import on Windows x64 with SQL2005 x64

    Hi All:
After successful export with R3Load of a ECC5.00 (Kernel 6.40 Patch level 171) when we import the data into SQL2005 SP1 and after successful import into the target database, we have some inconsistencies in several DYNPROS, we got errors like this when we run several transactions:

    Hi Federico
Seems there is some problem in kernals.I would suggest a solution :Solution: Copy <putdir>\exe to $(DIR_EXE_ROOT)\$(OS_UNICODE)\NTAMD64
    and repeat phase.
Let me know if it works.
Also check the numbers in instance problem,it should not be more than 20 for windows.

  • Freeze with k9n neo

    hello
excuse my english I'm writing from France and it's not very easy to write in english
    here is my problem :
suddenly my computer began to freeze. The first time after several minutes or hours. And then after each boot, only after few minutes and sometimes few seconds. I thought that it was because of my keyboard and mouse batteries, so I replaced them (I know it's stupid), I plugged a ps2 keyboard and an usb mouse, the same result. I also thought that it came from windows so I tried to repair it, crash at 58%. I did it again, other crash at 68%. I read that it could be because of the memory so I tried every slot. I even replaced the memory and also the power supply, same result. I tried with another hard drive, same result. I checked the temperature of the processor, no problem. I checked the temperature of the video card, no problem and anyway I have something on the screen. My processor doesn't seem to be dead because the pc wouldn't boot at all. Someone told me to test the mother board. What do you think about that ? Is ther any way to test the mother board myself ? Thank you for your help or advices.
    Josselyn

Test with memtest at your PC, not the memory stick at another one.

  • Problems with K9N Neo F

Everything was working perfectly with my computer until this morning.  All of a sudden while I was playing a card game, the computer locked up, and then when I tried to restart the computer, nothing came up on the screen, and nothing beeps.  Now the computer won't do anything when I turn it on.  The hard drive light comes on when I first turn the computer on, but nothing else happens, and there's no video signal to the monitor.  About the only thing it will respond to me doing is restarting the computer, and turning it off.
I have tried unplugging everything but the motherboard, as well as resetting the CMOS and re-seating the video card and RAM, but it still does the same exact thing.  I'm starting to wonder if the video card may have failed, since it at least responds to me pressing the power and reset buttons.
    Any suggestions?

    It works!  It actually works!!!
I took it down to the local store to have them test the memory, and the guy quickly tried a couple other things, and he stuck the memory in another slot, and the computer came on!
So I took it home and tried sticking the memory in all the other slots, and it worked correctly in all but the first slot.
So I took the memory out, and blew compressed air in the slot again.  While I was doing that, I noticed that the memory seated easily in all the slots except the first one.  So I blew compressed air thoroughly into that slot, and also gently bent the plastic on the ends of the slot outward a little (so it might seat easier).  After I did all of that, the memory went in easier, and the computer started up!  So it looks like everything is working again.
Thanks to all of you for the great amount of help you have given me!

It's kind of hard for us to understand you, sorry. I think you want to know if there is a known overheating issue with K9N Neo, MS-7260. Your neighbour told you so as his died because of overheating. Now you want to know whether this could be true or not.
Well there is no real issue. The passive heatsink is not very good and the northbridge gets pretty warm. That would cause trouble if there is not a good airflow inside of your case. But getting to critical temp should only happen in cases with very bad or no ventilation at all. So the K9N very unlikely dies because of overheating. Of course it could when the inside temp gets far too hot what shouldn't happen. Besides you would get instabilities long before it would die. You don't need to worry the dead of the other guy's K9N has nothing to do with a general K9N issue.
    Thanx for answer....

  • Crackling/Popping sounds on Windows 10

Hello everyone. I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 (the problem I am about to say never occured on Windows 7). When listening to music, I now hear popping/crackling sounds. I use my headphones to listen to music but I checked using my speakers and the same problem occurs. My PC info is:System Manufacturer: Hewlett-PackardSystem Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PCSystem Type: x64-based PCProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz, 2200 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB I have checked DPC Latency ( http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml ) and there does seem to be a problem. The latency spikes very often. The latency that I always have is between 1000-1500us but it spikes very high. For some reason, right now it says my current latency is 1192us but my maximum is 908,300,885! This does not seem normal!  I don't know how to fix it! Has anyone else heard something like this and does anyone know a fix?  On device manager under "Sound, video and game controllers" there are two drivers. I have used Device manager to try to update the drivers but it is saying that I have the latest version for both.1. IDT High Defintion Audio CODEC2. Intel(R) High Defintion Audio HDMI Thank you.

Hello everyone, this is an update on my issue. So I just tried uninstalling the IDT High Defintion Audio Driver, rebooted my computer and reinstalled the IDT High Defintion Audio Driver and I have no luck. I can still hear the popping and crackling sounds. I thought I'd share some information on this fourm. I just did a DPC Latnecy test (from LatencyMon) with nothing running but the test for 2 minutes and this is the report I got. If anyone either from HP or other people can assist me on my issue, I would very much appreciate it._________________________________CONCLUSION:Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. • MSI K9N Neo board- and Windows 2003 R2

    Hello,
I am having some compatibility issues with running a K9N Neo board and Windows 2003 r2
--I cant get core center to run
--I cant get audio/sound to work, it is all installed except for one thing.
so then i killed by loading XP drivers that it did not like.
Does anyone have a list of the minmum drivers off my CD that i should install to get it going, or are they on the MSI site for W2k3?  I could not find them.
This machine works totally fine with XP and Vista.
    thanks

That is mostly correct, absolutely. But it happens that Microsoft thought-up some security measure or two that prohibits some - for example - updating procedures. Here is an example, but I doubt that is your problem. Please note the kb number, you don't have to learn Swedish.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922582/sv
Modificacion: Very few companies do I believe produce special 2003 drivers. Don't think I ever saw any MSI ones, anyway. Isn't it enough that XP and Vista works? Those are better for gaming, entertainment, VOIP and such.

  • MSI K9N NEO-F V3 Cannot install Windows 7

I am trying to install Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on my wife's desktop computer.
    The system is:
MSI K9N NEO-F V3 Motherboard with BIOS American Megatrends Inc. V2.4
    AMD 64 X2 3.00 Gigahertz
    2 Gigs of RAM
    Windows XP Pro 32 bit
    500 gigs SATA HDD
120 gig and 40 gig IDE HDDs
As it has to be a clean install, I start the computer with the Windows 7 in the DVD drive. I get loading files, Starting Widows and then the background picture (picture with vapour trails, a dove and some grass) for the "Select Language etc." screen. Then nothing, no matter how long I leave it.
Got onto Microsoft and spent 1.5 hours trying to get it to work. We even went into the BIOS, made sure the DVD drive was the first boot device. When I clicked F10 to save and exit I did not get the "Press any key to boot from the CD/DVD", it went back to the beginning of booting.
The disk is OK, it is a Microsoft disk and worked fine when I tested it in my PC.
    Can anyone help, please?

Disconnect the two PATA hard drives.
Make sure the hard drive you're installing Windows on is formatted before running the setup.

  • Crackling sound and audiodg.exe problem in windows 7

    Hi,
I suddenly ran into this problem with my Pavilion dv7. The music played by Windows Media Player as well as other player become slowed and crackled. My norton complained that the audiodg.exe occupied most of the CPU power.
I ran through a google search to find the solutions. But it seems none of them works. Someone suggests to disable the audio device enhancement. but mine has been disabled already. Someone suggestes to upgrade the driver, but mine is up to day. Anyone has met a similar problem?
My OS is window7 professional sp1
My audio device is IDT HD audio codec

Same problem w/ audiodg.exe /uses 100% of one core on my quad core and no diabling sound enchancements DOES NOT WORK
    Same problems w/ crackling sound

  • Crackling sound after updating to Itunes 10.2.1 on Windows 7 Laptop

I recently upgraded to Itunes 10.2.1 on my laptop. Ever since this update, I have been getting a crackling sound whenever I play audio or video.
I know its not my Bose Companion 5s because I don't get this problem with VLC player or Windows Media Player. Its really annoying because I can't play Itunes movies or shows on those players and have to sit through the crackling sound.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone got any solutions for this? Thank you for your help.

DO you by any chance have Norton?
I have seen one report that was associated with an unspecified Norton product. If so it might be worth briefly disabling it to see if that makes a difference.
Also I have seen one report of skipping rather than crackling associated with continuous backup.
Here is the Apple help on play back problems in case you haven't seen it:
