Crazy usage

My BT Infinity 1 plus Anytime Calls package (usage limited to 20Gb) went live on 2nd Feb. According to BT, since then I have managed to exceed my 20Gb and I don't believe it.
I used to use a program called Netmeter to monitor my usage when I was with TalkTalk on copper and my monthly usage never exceeded 6Gb. Ok, this was only monitoring internet traffic between my PC and the internet and usage such as Skype and Smart TV traffic was not seen by Netmeter, but I only infrequently use my TV to accesses iPlayer and Skyping, at the time, was negligible. On this basis I thought 20Gb was more than enough.
Information (or is it mis-information) from BT has done nothing to resolve this.
My Bill shows:
Usage since 03 February 15:£0.00
Last updated: 07 February 15 at 08:07However, viewing my broadband usage shows my usage from 1st Feb to 6th Feb as being 2.89Gb over my 20Gb allowance. Why doesn't My Bill show the cost for this excess?
Then selected Usage & Analysis followed by Broadband. Selected Date Range and entered From 02/02/2015 To 08/02/2015. This resulted in the message:There was no chargeable usage in that period
Totally confused at this stage so phoned BT support. The guy I spoke to was able to give me the traffic figures for each day I have been connected. When I asked why I, as a customer, could not see these figures by entering each day into to Date Range on Usage & Analysis, his only explanation was 'it takes 48 hours for usage figures to be updated'. If this was true, how was it that he could see the figures?
Looking back over my internet activity since BT activation I have spent:
several hours online each day, mainly browsing with a few relatively small downloads plus a bit of viewing on YouTube etc.
roughly 2 hours viewing BBC iPlayer on my (not so) Smart TV
2 hours 10 minutes on a Skype call to NZ.
I could be wrong but this, to my mind, doesn't add up to anything like 23Gb.
My questions are:
am I wrong about the traffis generated by the above activities?
should BT be providing their customers with accurate and up-to-date usage figures plus the costs for exceeding this usage instead of the confusing and contradictory information it is providing at present
my PC had 2 ethernet adapters. It should be possible to route ALL my LAN traffic through one adapter and only have the WAN connected to the other adapter via HH5. That way I can use a Network Monitoring tool to track all usage. Has anyone done this and, if so, could thay post how they did it?

  • I5 iMac and Windows 7: Headphone jack usage makes 1 core extra crazy

Hi. I wasn't even sure where to post this, but here goes...
I got a new iMac at the Apple Store a few days ago. The same day, I installed Vista Ultimate. Right away, I noticed that the cpu cores (in Task Manager) were in use, one at about 100%. The overall CPU Usage showed 35%. No apps in use.
To make a long story short, I never could figure it out.
So I went and bought Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade yesterday. Installed that (64-bit). Everything is great, but the cores were still going crazy.
Turns out that when I unplug my speakers from the headphone jack, it drops to 0% cpu usage! The performance didn't seem to have been affected by it, but it bothered me.
Any ideas what that was all about? Is that a driver issue on Apples part? I could assume it is because Apple doesn't support Win7 yet, but the driver cd contains lots of Windows 7 drivers, and it did the same thing in Vista.
    Anyway, thanks.

I'm surprised to see this happening with the new iMac Core i5/i7s. I would expect Windows 7 to be better in that dept than Mac OS.
Did you manage to find and try to update audio device drivers? RealTek?
Mac OS on 2009 Mac Pro, have high cpu in audio, flash, java as well as iTunes - but not in Windows 7. If you monitor temps (Hardware Monitor for OS X, RealTemp and Everest Ultimate), you will see quick jump in temperate, which is normal, even launching windows or apps. But the Mac Pro is 20*C higher and stays there in OS X, but not Windows 7.
That whole 35%/100% would indicate thread locking going on. And more prone with Core i7 (4 cores, 8 virtual cores with hyper-threading).
The part of the older Windows kernel that had responsibility for managing scheduling was the dispatcher, and it was protected by a global lock. "The dispatcher database lock originally protected the integrity of all the scheduler-related data structures," said Kishan. "This includes things like thread priorities, ready queues, any object that you might be able to wait on, like an event, semaphore, mutex, I/O completion port timers, asynchronous procedure calls -- all of it was protected by the scheduler, which protected everything by the dispatcher lock.
    /snip/
In the new kernel for Win7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, the dispatcher lock is completely gone -- a critical element of Windows architecture up until Vista, absolutely erased. Its replacement is something called fine-grained locking, with eleven types of locks for the new scheduler -- for threads, processors, timers, objects -- and rules for how locks may be obtained to avoid what engineers still call, and rightly so, deadlock. Synchronization at a global level is no longer observed, Kishan explained, so many operations are now lock-free. In its place is a kind of parallel wait path made possible by transactional semantics -- a complex way for threads, and the LPs that execute them, to be negotiated symbolically.
    snip
In other words, keeping processors busy to reduce latency -- one of the methodologies that we were told years ago would help Vista -- actually reduces overall efficiency. Multicore processors work better when their logical processors (LPs) can be put to sleep, or "parked," and their active threads shipped to another LP.

  • Crazy disk usage + frequent crashes after update

After updating to version 35, Firefox has become almost unusable. No other change was made to my system, which worked fine up until the update.
The browser starts and works fine for a few (not consistent) minutes, then starts using the hard drive heavily, slowing down the bowser itself and everything else. Usage has a 'saw' pattern, going regularly from 50% to 90% every couple of seconds. All stops when I close Firefox. I couldn't pinpoint a particular website that triggered this behaviour.
Also the browser has crashed 4 times in less than 48hrs.
    Win8.1 64, 16GB ram, Nvidia GT640, all software (including plug-ins) up-to date.
    Please advise, thank you

  • Data usage gone crazy

Has anybody else in the last couple of days received a notification that they went over their data plan when their usual usage is not even close to 2gb? I've had a couple of people telling me this is happening to them just like it happened to me.

    Hi Lindsey,
I am worried because it seems that it's not only happening to me but also on other users using a Samsung Galaxy.  The phone line has 2gb of data allowance and it's never been close to even go over. I don't know what's going on so I'm checking to see if it's happening to other users.
    Thank you

  • Crazy Data Usage...

I'm on the 200 MB data limit on my plan. I have the AT&T Wireless app on my iPhone, which I frequently use to check how much data I've been using. But lately it's been screwy...
It was the next-to-last day of my billing cycle and I had used 150 MB of the 200...but when I woke up in the morning, I had a text stating that I had used 100% of my data and was now being charged for extra. With 1 day left of my billing cycle! I know apps can drain data, but 50 MB literally overnight?
Today I did not use data at all, I only used my phone when I was on Wifi and I checked the Wireless app out of curiosity. It said I had used 17 MB of data today. What the heck?
I cleared out some of my apps I wasn't using to see if maybe one app was doing it...
Has anyone else experienced this? Am I missing something?

When I got my iPhone 4, it was put on a new tarif from O2 ( UK) of 500mb data per month wheras I got unlimited data on my iPhone 3. I checked my data usage over the 18 months I had my 3 and it worked out at around 100 -150 mb per month, sometimes less. The 500mb cap seemed miles away...
Now, with my 4, my data usage is generally 300mb + and I dont do anything more with it than with my old phone.
My iPhone 4 is using more data somehow. Maybe O2 knew this and that is why they put the 500mb cap on the tarif hoping people would go over and increase their profits?
I have never got to the bottom of the excess data usage, but it seems common to most countries and suppliers.
Oh, my data this month is 360mb. I have been home more this month than before so I have been using wifi not 3G for any data usage!
Something is wrong or at least, not quite right here.

  • Crazy data usage suddenly on Mifi! 10gb in one day?

I noticed earlier this month that I got a notification for my data usage only about 10 days into my plan and thought it was unusual, but as my son had been streaming a music video I increased my plan, downloaded said video and disconnected his computer from wifi.  Then, 3 days ago I get another notification and tell my son to no longer play games on his iphone and increase my plan yet again.  Today, I get another notification (son at school and wifi on his phone and computer are off) and I increase, yet again to 40GB!!!  I then go around and see what is connected to wifi, our ipad (which was only on a kindle book, not a game or surfing internet, nothing unusual), our Hopper from Dish (which I then disconnected, we do not stream as 4g is too slow and we don't want to use up our data) and turn off the wifi on 2 other iphones (that were running nothing in the background, but did it just in case).  I then almost immediately get an alert that I am at 77% of my new data plan (30.8 gb now) and I begin working on an excel spreadsheet with nothing running on my computer.  A couple of hours later I am at 90% of my data and now, as I write this message, I have gotten 2 more alerts saying that I am now over my 40 gb, so that would be at least 10gb of data used just in the last 6 hours!  A few hours ago I chatted with a Verizon chat and she said that it could be my phones, ipads, hoppers, basically anything but they cannot tell what,  I disconnected everything except this computer and restarted the mifi.  Something is clearly wrong.  They want me to turn it off every night for the next week before they will open a problem ticket but at this rate my bill is going to be absolutely insane!  I haven't changed any of my habits from the last year, other than what I mentioned earlier this month so I am completely baffled.  Help!
    See my log:

I have had VERY high data usage. 3GB in a few hours time. Verizon help line could not figure it out. I had a Verizon Jetpack 890L. I up graded to a newer model Verizon Jetpack MiFi 6620L in the middle of November. Data usage when even HIGHER! I noticed HIGH data usage in August of 2014. The HIGH data continued in September, October, and November of 2014. The newer Jetpack MiFi 6620L used even MORE data!
Verizon tech support was not much help. They wanted to know if I had changed the Jetpack password and they thought that someone was using my Jetpack WiFi. The problem is I live in a VERY rural area. My nearest neighbor is MORE than a mile away. My wireless network connection does not show ANY OTHER users! I still changed my password on the Jetpack. I normally change my passwords on a monthly basis. These changes made NO DIFFERENCE in my HIGH data usage. They also asked what was connected to my Jetpack. I have a phone by another provider. I DO NOT use the phone with the Blue Tooth or WiFi on my Jetpack . It's NOT needed for a clear phone signal. I only have my laptop (HP Pavilion) connected to the Jetpack. I have connected my printer by cable and don't even use the wireless printing functions. STILL NO CHANGE IN DATA USAGE!
The Verizon tech also suggested that I have an Internet Security and Antivirus software. I have used Norton Internet Security and Antivirus software for a decade or more without any problems. The tech suggested that maybe that was the problem. NOT! He felt that the Cloud setting maybe using all this data. I use Norton 360 with the Norton Zone Cloud. I DID NOT receive ANY FIXS from Verizon!
I also called Norton who provides my Internet Security and Antivirus software. I had been running these packages on an on going basis. I had not shown ANY threats or problems in the past year or more. I had the tech go over my settings to make sure that they were not the problem of HIGH Data Usage. My Norton Zone or Cloud settings were average without any high drain. He asked that I go back to Verizon!
I finally have found that I may have had Malware that was in my software. I used Malwarebytes. It works well wth my Norton 360. It has slowed my high data usage BUT NOT ELIMANATED the problem. Malwarebytes is a free service. You can also download it for free. You can purchase advance or premium packages on the internet and at some stores if you want a hard copy. It's always worth a try!
At this point I have run out of options!

  • Iphone 5 crazy data usage

I just purchased the iPhone 5 for my daughter.  Apparently, the iPhone 5 doesn't recognize wifi unless you go into settings and turn something off.  Att sent codes to the phone and gave a 25.00 credit.  They tried to say we didn't purchase a larger data plan when we upgraded..I said NO!  I then told the rep to look my daughters data usage at 2am every morning..  Something was downloading using 200 each time...  He had only 10 apps on the phone...Hmmmm  Lets see if it works

The phone only uses wifi when it is plugged in to power.   When it goes into sleep mode, the wifi signal will drop and then use only cellular.
Also, on the AT&T bill, all usage is added on in the evening, not as you go along during the day.   So most likely the usage is not happening at 2AM but that is when it is being totaled and added to your usage bill.   The usage printed at 2AM is for the 24 hour period prior.

  • Memory usage going crazy!!

I have a MBP with 4GB of memory and constantly see that amount being 99% used. It goes into swap all the time! I don't have too many apps running, just Mail, Safari, iTunes, and Word. Does anybody know what's happening? Thanks!

    irowharderthanyou wrote:
Safari tops the list @330MB, but nothing else looks too excessive. page-in/page-out ratio is 10:1 now, but can be MUCH lower. Sometimes it's around 1:1. The current memory breakdown is:
    Free: 13MB
    Wired: 737MB
    Active: 1.17MB
    Inactive: 2.10MB
    Used: 3.99GB
OK - Out of the memory shown here approximately 2.23GB is still available for use, and should be called upon by the computer when necessary. (The 2.10GB of "Inactive" RAM is RAM which was previously in use, by one of the current applications or by ones which you have now quit, but which retains its original contents in case the earlier use is required again. It is not really being "used" and is available for other apps to call on if necessary.
The Wired and Active ones are the RAM that is really currently in use.
I wouldn't be expecting a lot of "Pageout" activity in the present situation.
It may be, though , that one of the apps you commonly use isn't regularly "releasing" RAM at some times, or that it behaviour becomes nastier when using a particular "plug-in" for example. I'd keep an eye on the figures while you work for a while and check out any activity that significantly changes things.
How often do you restart your computer? (a guaranteed way of "freeing up" RAM, of course).
    Cheers

  • Very high memory usage..possible memory leak?  Solaris 10 8/07 x64

    Hi,
I noticed yesterday that my machine was becoming increasingly slow, where once it was pretty snappy. It's a Compaq SR5250NX with 1GB of RAM. Upon checking vmstat, I noticed that the "Free" column was ~191MB. Now, the only applications I had open were FireFox 2.0.11, GAIM, and StarOffice. I closed all of them, and the number reported in the "Free" column became approximately 195MB. "Pagefile" was about 5.5x that size. There were no other applications running and it's a single user machine, so I was the only one logged in. System uptime: 9 days.
I logged out, logged back in, to see if that had an affect. It did not. Rebooted and obviously, that fixed it. Now with only FireFox, GAIM, and a terminal open, vmstat reports "Free" as ~450MB. I've noticed if I run vmstat every few seconds, the "Free" total keeps going down. Example:

In any event, we can see that FireFox is sucking up 145MB (??!?!!? crazy...) XSun, 200MB, and java 190MB. I'm running Java Desktop System (Release 3) so I assume that is what accounts for the the high memory usage RE: java process. But, XSun, 200MB?
Is this normal and I just need to toss another gig in, or what?
    Thanks

Why does closing all open windows (15) and leaving only one drop ram usage by only 100mb from 1.5 to 1.4Gb.
What is in this 1.4 gb ?
I don't care much about ram, It's just that cpu usage spike like crazy by the end.

Hi musicfan,<br />Sorry you are having problems with Firefox. Maybe you should have asked earlier and we could have fixed it.
Reading your comments I do not see that rolling back to an insecure Firefox 22 will actually help you much. You are probably best using IE, unless you have also damaged that.

  • IPhone 5 suddenly using an excessive amount of data and my phone usage has not changed so why am i going over data 3 times this billing cycle?

My iphone 5 has been hogging data like crazy the past two months. I have not used my phone anymore than I normally do, in fact I would say I use it less often than normal. I have gone over the family share data limit of 15GB three times this billing cycle. The first time i had 121500 MB of data used. I thought it was rhapsody that was causing all of the data usage but my sister uses rhapsody on her iphone 5c and she hasnt gone over at all! So its not that. I decided I would turn OFF all cellular usage on apps like facebook, instagram, rhapsody, twitter, even MAIL! I am basically not able to use my phone outside of my house now which is NOT okay! I took screen shots of the cellular usage and at one point after I had completely shut off celluar data on all apps, i checked my cellular usage and DNS services, Mapping services, Data and syncing all had racked up data! I hadnt used any of those services! I also turned off all location settings and maps and siri! phone is still using data like crazy!
I saw in recent posts about this issue that Apple replaced peoples iphones because it was a bug in the phones software that was causing the data to go haywire! I have an upgrade but I dont want to use it if I dont have to! I also dont want to get another iphone 5 if this problem is happening with iphone 5's. I have not seen very many complaints about iphone 5c  so that might be the route I go.
I also restored my iphone last night cause I saw a discussion which said to try that. So far it is still using data and im on wifi!
Any suggestions as to what to do now?

  • K8NGM2-FID problems: no usb and high cpu usage - HELP!

    hi folks,
i've setup K8NGM2-FID inside an htpc with a clean install of mce 2005 (onboard video). For the past couple of days I've noticed a few things:
    1) if the pc goes into standby (S3) and then wakes up, sometimes task manager shows a cpu usage of 50% (on the graph) but looking at the list of tasks (for all users) nothing is runing that high - in fact system idle process shows 98% (while the graph is still showing about 50%) and the system is a bit sluggish; reboot fixes this but it's getting really annoying. I've installed the latest AMD x2 driver. Sometimes it goes to 98-99% after waking up but that's been rare.
    2) i've been getting a few BSODs lately, actually all started yesterday - 3 of them in a span of about 2 hours after insalling Nero. I'm going to try to figure out what is causing it that (proabably Nero - I hope since that's easy to undo) but what i've noticed is that when the system reboots after the blue screen, none of the USB devices work (i.e. keyboard, mouse, etc.). windows has to load, then I need to go in the back and unplug/replug the usb devices which then 'wakes' them up; this can get really annoying in a typical cramped home theater setup. software restarts seem to be good - ok hardware restarts are the problem. hooking things up to a usb hub has the same effect - i.e. I need to re-plug the hub to get them to work - it just means less things to plug/unplug.
has anyone else noticed this? help save my sanity - this is driving me crazy. since this is an mce setup, it goes into sleep and wakes up several times a day so the high cpu issue when it comes up really gets in the way of using the pc. btw. during high cpu times, no mce related function (record/watch/the shell itself) is running.
    here's my setup:
    K8NGM2-FID - boots up with 3 short beeps - I think it's 1 beep pause then 2 beeps
2 gigs kingston 3 CAS (2 x 1 GIG kit) pc3200 - boot screen shows it running at 400mhz in dual channel config
X2 3800+ stock fan/heatsink with silver 5 (runs around 35-38 idle - inside a silverstone 'stereo rack' case)
    ms usb keyboard/mouse/mce remote
    coolmax 550W power
    3 140GB WD drives (ata 133 - not sata)
onboard video - framebuffer set to 128megs
latest (as of 2 days ago) nvidia and msi drivers - msi bios is the stock 3.0 (more on that later)
the bios settings are all default as far as I can tell.
    pvr-150 tuner card
    promise ata 100 card
    nec 3500dvd
all running on mce 2005 with rollup 2 and all the updates windows could find
i haven't updated the bios because i've read about other folks having blue screen problems and the suggestion has been to up the voltage for the ram (I guess the default setup from MSI is lower than it should be) but apparently that option is missing from the 3.1 and later bioses? and reading the text file, it wasn't very apparent what the bios 3.1 was fixing other than a few cosmetic bootup texts. I'm planning to up the voltage later today.
anyhow, any suggestions short of throwing the entire pc out the door are welcomed.
    thanks!

ok here's what I've found about the high cpu...
using process explorer, hardware interrups is taking all the cpu. i've tried to disable items one by one but nothing is working so far. what does work is if i choose scan for new hardware, cpu goes down to normal. standby and resume and cpu is up again. do the scan and it goes down again - without changing anything.
i've re-installed the graphic board driver, nvidia 430 drivers, sound driver. not sure what else to do. checked my drives and they are all properly master/slave set.
this is really getting crazy...anyone come across this?
i'm a bit hesitant to go to bios 3.1 since i've seen lots of posts about BSOD and i've just gotten rid of that.
    thanks
    thanks a bunch!

  • Ntoskrnl.exe System %100 disk usage with windows 8.1. all the time!.

hello i am also having the %100 disk usage problem and am starting a thread to upload my etl. file and see if i can get a solution. thnx. i should also mention i have tried every suggestion i have read on the internet even ones that worked for other people
did not work for me i.e. (switching to high performance power plan, disabling cd drive, etc.) no matter what i try "system" is always utilizing 90%-100% of my hard drive and it is driving me crazy.
i can barely do anything on computer without it taking 10x times longer than it should. ive also run dskchk and boot time virus scans and malware scans. all to no avail. i have more than enough ram and a quad core cpu. when i first purchased my laptop it
was running windows 8 and was lightning fast once i upgraded to 8.1 i think is when the issue started occurring.
i am currently installing the windows assessment and deployment kit right now and will upload my etl. file to the skydrive asap.

    Jonny
In order to diagnose this problem please follow these instructions
Install the WPT (windows Performance Toolkit) http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/4847.install-the-windows-performance-toolkit-wpt.aspx ,
open a CMD prompt with administrative rights (right click it>run as admin) and run this command for 60 secs to capture the high HD usage:
xperf -on PROC_THREAD+LOADER+CSWITCH+FILENAME+FILE_IO+FILE_IO_INIT+DISK_IO+DISK_IO_INIT+DRIVERS+PROFILE -f kernel.etl -stackwalk Profile+CSwitch+DiskReadInit+DiskWriteInit+DiskFlushInit+FileCreate+FileCleanup+FileClose+FileRead+FileWrite -BufferSize 1024 -MaxBuffers 1024 -MaxFile 1024 -FileMode Circular && timeout -1 && xperf -d XperfSlowIOcir.etl*When complete, zip the trace & upload it to skydrive (or some other file sharing service) and put a link to it in your next post.

  • Data allowance and overages AM I CRAZY?

For the past 3 months, I have gotten the warning that I am approaching my data allowance early in my cycle period. The first month I chalked it up to my son being out of school for the summer and thought, we probably WERE using more data between us.
The second month upon getting the warning again, I upped my plan from 6MB to 8MB to keep from getting charged the 'overage' charge. I also had a long talk scolding my son, sure he had been doing something 'extra' that he shouldn't have been that once again had increased our data usage.
But here we are again- that warning saying I'm approaching my limit even earlier in the month than last time after I had increase it last month for the extra data (and charge!).
We(my son and myself) have been extra careful to turn data off at night to keep from anything running that would make this possible.
We've rarely used the phone except everyday calls and text(which are unlimited) and have even went days without turning data on at all on either phone to try and avoid this- so why am I still approaching this limit every month and so early? I've increased my data plan and am still hitting that mark earlier than I did at 6MB, it just doesn't make sense.
I can't prove anything concrete that this is something that verizon is doing to up my monthly bill, but do feel something just isn't right.
I've talked to CS and you know the drill- nothing is out of the ordinary on their end or ever their fault.
Of course I'm missing my unlimited data plan that I was forced to give up if I upgraded phones last year. It was either stick with the old phone and keep unlimited data plan, or switch to their 'new' data plans and get new phones. I had my previous phone for 4 yrs, it was time to upgrade. So I feel there really wasn't a choice. It was have a phone, or no phone.
And though I love my Galaxy SIII- What's the point of having it if I can't use it to its capacity without having to mortgage my home to do so???
Am I crazy for feeling this? Or are there others out there who feel their data usage has increased without explanation or contribution on your part toward it???

I have had the same issue and in the end of Oct and up until now the data usage has skyrocketed. I have not changed my usage in one year, I do not stream or download music and videos.  I called and they said they will send me a used jet pack, it is not my jet pack my iphone is not working right either. Well the issue is I have a new iphone and it can not connect to 4g even 3g at times, and has the lowest speed I have ever seen, sent text are not received, when I talk to people they tell me I am breaking up, internet pages will not load they time out.
This is not just a mifi jet pack issue it is network. The internet is running very very slow, keeps timing out, dropping internet on my jet pack and iphone.
I have read so many posts about data issues for the last three months, and Verizon is brushing it off. I was told by 3 techs that the data is getting burned up because it keeps pulling while loading a page, stops and starts over and it is burning up all my data. No refund for the whole month is did not work right. I still have very little use of my mifi and iphone accessing the internet. I have Verizon towers all around me and in one the best spots for Verizon, there is no excuse for this.

  • High CPU Usage with one client

I work as a desktop support engineer. I've got a call that has been back and forth between departments that I believe to be an SCCM problem but I'm not involved in the back end of that, just desktop onsite type stuff, hardware, rebuilds etc...
So I'm wondering if I can get some ammo to take to the SCCM team and hopefully get the problem resolved for the affected user.
What happens is, one particular user, every time he logs onto a machine, from that moment on (all he needs to do is log on once, then log straight off) almost every night at a random time the CPU will starts behaving erratic around the 25% mark and will
not stop until the machine is rebooted. After the reboot, all is well, until the next night. The RAM in this time will also behave odd. It goes up and down every 10-20 seconds. It starts at a particular figure, goes up a little to another figure, then back
down to the previous, then back up again and so on. Obviously I'd expect the machine to mostly be sat idle, cpu usage around 0-5%, ram not moving, and this is the case with all other machines across our estate. The user likes to leave his machine on and logged
in hence why he sees it often.
Even if the machine is rebuilt, it will continue doing it if he has logged on previously, if we change the hostname in this rebuild, it doesn't, hence why I'm certain this is something to do with SCCM. Also, a level 3 guy has had a lot to do with this case
too, he says that when the cpu is going crazy, its always to do with svchost.exe and the WMI, again, pointing to SCCM I think.
Now, we don't have roaming profiles, software and patches are all installed by SCCM, I think we use 2012, but it may be 2007, I can find out if it will help.
From what I've read, it looks like it could be corrupt superseeded update packages. But the question is then, if so, why does it only affect one user? Can it affect his personal id SCCM account or something? sorry, I don't know too much about how SCCM works,
I have a rough idea, but its just that...Rough!
Any help would be most appreciated as this call has been outstanding for months and it keeps on popping back into my queue saying things like, try rebuilding the client, well...yeah...read the history geniuses, we've done that many times, ruled hardware
100% out and still it ends up back with us. Thankfully the bloke is really understanding and seems quite a problem solver himself, he's really intrigued to know whats happening now and has learnt to work around it.
Many Thanks for any and all help given, I can provide logs and any diagnostic info that will help.

I'm not seeing how this is a CM12 problem at all. Yes it might be a WMI problem but that doesn't mean that it has anything to do with CM12.
Software Update are not deployed to a user they are deploied to a PC.
    Start with the basic.
    Have you check WMI health?
What OS are you talking about?
Have you applied all the WMI Software Updates to the PC?
Are you sure that he doesn't have roaming profile?
What happens when he logon to your healthy PC? Does the problem start? If so what then this is clearly NOT a CM12 problem but instead, a profile or application target to him that is the problem.
What GPO are target to him?
