Create a Button on a Query

Hello,
I want to know how can I put a Button on a Query.
I want to put a Print Button.
I know that in the left button there is a option to print. I want to know if I can put that option as a Button directly in the web page of the query.
Thank you in advance & Best regards...
Pablo Mortera.

Hi
Yes you can have that option in WAD template. Please find below link for more information
Re: WAD (BW 3.5)  - Export to PDF
In BW 3.5, Export to PDF is not available as a standard setting.
This feature is provided in BI 7.0.
With 3.5 you can have an addon like the Camelot Document convertor for exporting to PDF.
Refer to the below link for more info on this...

  • Externally created pagination buttons in Collections

    Hi Good People.
    How do I use Externally created pagination buttons in Collections? for an example I wan't to use three externally created buttons i.e (NEXT PAGE, PREVIOUS PAGE and LAST PAGE) that I created myself to manipulate the collection. I am having a problem in linking these three buttons with my collection, if I click on anyone of these buttons nothing happens, it doesn't take me to the next page or previous pages it stays on the first page. (I dont want to use the default pagination schemes that you find in the report attributes).
    Example: I want to save first page information in my table if a user clicks on the next page, and then move on to the next page.

    Wagga,
    When you click Next Page, does it execute any process? I hope so. In that process, you can save the data from the page to a table, and set the page range (say rownum 16 to 30) for the next page. I have shown 2 hidden items to hold the start and end row values.
    BEGIN
        -- Save data to table
        :P1_START_ROW := 16;
        :P1_END_ROW := 30;
    END;In your report query, you can use the start and end row values to display the next page. You need to Branch back to the same page.

  • How to Create a View of a Query and assign it into my web template?

    Hi All,
    I need to create 3 views for my query and show that on my web template. I have never done this before. Can you please let me know step-by step procedure to create views for a query and how to show it on my WAD report?
    Thanks,
    Satyam

    Hi Satyam,
    Include the Dropdown Box web item in your web template. In the Web Item Parameters tab, select the Data Binding type as Query View Selection. Assign the Dataprovider from Selection of Query Views button below the Data Binding Type. You also have the option to Display Specific list of Query Views or all views based on that Query. For this you have to choose Selection of Query Views button. Here you can turn on Specific List of Query Views checkbox and select the Views depending on your requirement.

  • Unnable to create SAVE_VIEW button in WAD vers 7.01

    Hi All
    I'm trying to create a button "Save View" with a command SAVE_VIEW in my WAD application. I would like that it works in the same way like in 3.5 Version (standard AdHoc Web Template). But this function doesn't work in my BI version 7.01 SP6.
    For parameters to the command SAVE_VIEW in my WAD I have to enter the technical name of an (existing!) query view and a description (?!). Actually I would like that each user can decide yourself how the view will be named and save it only localy in their favorits. But no "save"-dialog appears when pressing the created button Save View in Web.
    What are the tricks for giving a possibility for the enduser to save an own local view of a running Web report?
    Thanks,
    Elvira

    Hi
    What parts of the code are relevant?  I need one button that represents the open view selection?
    Thanks

  • Create a button

    Hi
    I'm using Xcelsius in bw.
    And I would like to create a button to exit application
    And another button to refresh the data (I want to execut the prompts)
    And finally a button to save the query output in excel?
    best regard
    francoise

    Hi Francoise,
    Here are the answers to your questions
    1.Cant you just press "X" on your browser to exit? If you really want to go to another page or something with a button you can use the URL Button and have it point to "google.com" or something.
    You can find it in the components window "Web Connectivity" -> URL Button
    2. To refresh data you choose the button that is located
    "Web Connectivity" -> "Connection Refresh Button"
    Note that you will need to setup your data connections which you can do by pressing "CTRL + M"
    3. Are you looking to persist your query output somewhere else? If so the native Xcelsius cannot do that because Xcelsius is made to be read only. If you really do want to save the output you can look into 3rd party tools such as the output addon from centigon solutions, or you can code a web service and then call that web with the URL button from #1.
    -If you just want to output the query onto the screen, then you can use the push button which is located in the components window
    "Selectors" -> "Push Button"
    Hope that helps

  • Changing Go button prompt of query bean

    Hi
    How can we change the prompt of Go button that comes by default in the query bean. I have gone through the thread http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1354500? and tried the code but it didn't work. Its printing button not found. Let me know if there is way to achieve this.
    OAQueryBean queryBean = (OAQueryBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("QueueQueryRN");
    String GoButtonName = queryBean.getGoButtonName();
    OASubmitButtonBean goButton = (OASubmitButtonBean)queryBean.findIndexedChildRecursive(GoButtonName);
    if (goButton !=null)
    goButton.setText("Search");
    System.out.println("button found");
    }else
    System.out.println("button not found");
    Thanks,

    Edited by: VG on Aug 9, 2011 10:37 AM

    VG,
    I have gotten the code to work, however in order to do this, I had to create a controller on a child region to the queryBean. Then I called super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean) and then my code to access the Go button.
    In my example I have the following hierarchy:
    queryRegion
    ....tableRegion <--- create controller HERE to change Go Button name.
    ......item
    ......item
    In the tableRegion I added a controller. This allows me to call super so that the QueryBean will create the button bean and initialize it so I can access it. I think you are getting a null because when your page level controller is executed, the button does not yet exist, even though queryBean knows what id it will give the button, its PR method hasn't been called to dynamically create the button.
    By putting a new controller on a child of queryBean, you can call the queryBean PR and then it will have dynamically created the submitButton for you to manipulate.
    Does this make sense?
    Give it a try.
    Hope this helps.
    BTW - I used this technique to also initialize the search query to come up with default search results.

  • Creating a button for inserting into a table

    What I can't do, because I've never needed to, is to create in a page (where I have a Interactive report) a button that when is clicked performs a simple sql (for example an insert into a table using some page item values).
    How can I do it?
    Thanks

    Here are some of the steps:
    1) Create the button.
    2) Then right click on the button name and select Create Dynamic Action
    3) Give the DA a name, click next
    4) On the "When" Step, Event should already be "Click" and the button name should be filled in
    5) For Condition, you would have a condition for when you want the button display.  Say, if your page items have a certain range of values then display this button.  No condition means the button is always displayed.
    6) For the "True Action" Step, for Action select "Execute PL/SQL Code"
        [There are other ways to do this, but this is straight-forward for me.]
    7) The in the PL/SQL Code block enter say:
    Begin
      INSERT INTO EMP (EMPNO, ENAME, HIREDATE)
              VALUES (:P6_EMPNO, 'MARK1970', :P6_HIREDATE);
      COMMIT;
    END;   --- You would likely make them all page item variables
    8) Here the part I'm not 100% sure of.
        For "Page Items to Submit", name the page items used in YOUR QUERY -- in my example these are  P6_EMPNO,P6_HIREDATE   (Note no use of & or : or . here)
        Hmm.  Start by putting nothing in the "Page Items to Return".   If that fails, then try the same page items  P6_EMPNO,P6_HIREDATE there as well.
    [ I'm too lazy to go run this down at the moment.]
    9) I think that's it.

    Paul,
    To Add a Button to a form you would need to write SDK code.  This involved coding using the SDK tools.
    Please refer your question to the SDK Forum to get details on how to go about this.

  • How to create custom button by amending template in sc and change po screen

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell the steps that How to create custom button by amending the template  in shopping cart or change purchase order screen.
    Full points for the answer.
    Edited by: shraman saha on Aug 17, 2008 6:44 PM

    Hi,
    I dont have any idea what you mean by Template for "Change Purchase Order" functionality. As far as i know there is a change button on the screen using which we go to the change mode and edit the PO.
    About your other query: you do not require to download any HTML pages. To see the templates for PO go through the following path:
    Transaction SE80 --> Internet options --> in the drop-down enter BBP_POC (for PO) --> Topic 99 --> HTML templates.
    Then look for the following templates :
    SAPLBBP_PO_UI_ITS 3000  --> for header basic data
    SAPLBBP_PO_UI_ITS 4000  --> for item overview
    SAPLBBP_PO_UI_ITS 4100  --> for item basic data
    SAPLBBP_PO_UI_ITS 2200  --> for buttons.
    Make appropriate changes to the screen and then publish it before using it. It is just like activating objects.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Pradeep

  • Is there a way to create a button that links to a website?

    Is there a way to create a button that links to a website?
    I was reading up that it's possible to this with menus, and tracks but can you do it with a button and how?
    I am hoping to create a button that people viewing my discs on a computer can click on the link and their web browser will pop up and take them to a website.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    -Fraky

    dvd@ccess questions are being asked once a week on this forum, so I'll repeat why it's useless:
    - Mac users have to enable the feature in the preferences of DVD Player in order to for the links to work.
    - PC users have to install a small application on their PC, and they have to reboot the PC in order for the links to work.
    - On top of this, it's still unreliable, and may not work on some computers.
    It's a dog: Don't use it.

  • Help trying to create a button in safari please.

    trying to create a button that runs an applescript. I have been discussing it in 101 but cross posting it here because it's not getting much interest over there.
    Any help would be nice. I have read Become an xCoder and it doesn't seem to answer my questions.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1514799&tstart=0

    Is there no way to create an appcontroller that works like an applescript? Or get an applescript to be recognized so a new NSButton added to the Bookmark bar be activated?
    i.e.
    *tell application "System Events"*
    * tell application "Safari" to activate*
    * keystroke "n" using {command down}*
    * delay 0.1*
    * keystroke "l" using {command down, shift down}*
    *end tell*
    Or,
    _Something Like:_
    / AppController /
    *#import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h>*
    *@interface AppController : NSObject*
    *IBOutlet id NSButton;*
    *-(IBAction) autoFill:,delay 0.1,checkSpelling:(id)sender*
    @end
    I really don't know if that AppController looks anything like it should or if it's even close.

  • What is the diffrence  between "Key to Select" and "Selected Key" while creating Radio  Buttons?

    While creating radio buttons there is a confusion regarding two properties "Key to Select" and "Selected Key".Can anybody explain it with example?
    Thanks,
    Vimal

    Hi Vimal,
    Please find my explanation as below
    Key to Select: This is the unique key for each radio button to identify which one is selected
    Selected Key: This holds the "KEY" of selected radio button
    Example:
       Let us say we have 2 radio buttons : Male & Female
         Create a context attribute SELECTED_KEY of type STRING.
         Create an action ON_SELECT for radio button select event
         Now,
         the properties for "MALE" radio button as below
              KEY_TO_SELECT = 'M'
              SELECTED_KEY = "bind to the context attribute SELECTED_KEY
              OnSelect = 'ON_SELECT'.
         The properties for 'Female" radio button as below
              KEY_TO_SELECT = 'F'
              SELECTED_KEY = "bind to the context attribute SELECTED_KEY
              OnSelect = 'ON_SELECT'.
    If we select radio button 'Male', we get the key as 'M' and for 'Female' radio button 'F'.
    check inside the event handler method ONACTIONON_SELECT, you get the 'KEY' of selected radio button.
    So, the context attribute 'SELECTED_KEY'  gets filled with the key of selected radio button
    Hope this helps you in distinguishing the 'KEY TO SELECT' & 'SELECTED KEY' .

  • How to create a button that Copies subform data and paste it to a new page?

    Hi , I'm want to create a button that when clicked copys all the data from the feilds of a subform off the previous page and paste it into current page.
    I have used Steve's "Simple table.pdf example" to add a subform called DecorationDetail that has a button that adds an instance when clicked.
    Contained in the decorationdetail subform are feilds named Quantity, Description,UnitPrice etc. and a delete instance button.
    So when the first page is filled out, and a second page with blank duplicate feilds is added by a add page button. I want to be able to click a button
    positioned at the end of the row of feilds, and it then copies the same subform data from the previous coresponding page and pastes it into the current page subform feilds.
    Hope this make sense?. A step by step guide would be greatly appreciated!!!.
