Create a Flex UI for WikiMedia site

Hi guy,
I just look at some example of what Flex can do and I really
like to cool UI it provides.
I am wondering, is possible to make a Flex UI to replace the
HTML front end of Wiki Site. I mean building up a UI with Flex for
a Wikimedia site? Is it something possible or is Flex only for
application and not for website?

Flex is a presentation tier technology. If your wiki site
provides some sort of RPC data API, then sure, you can use Flex to
create a front end.

Creating Iweb seperate domains for multiple sites DIDNT WORK

Hi! Any help would be much appreicaited!
I am creating mutiple websites in iWeb 09'. All 3 of my websites have been stored under 1 domain file on my mac. I have read numerous discussion boards stating the steps of how to seperate each of the created sites from the one domain file, into mutiple domain files. I followed the steps on this website :

I moved the Domain folder out of its original location into a new folder on my harddrive entitled "Sites". Then i made sub folders within that folder and duplicated the domain 3 times and placed each copy in those folders. then i double clicked on the domain for my 1st site, opened iWeb, and then deleted the other sites i did not want on this new "domain" file i created and hit saved. This is exactly what the website said to do to create the seperate domain files for each seperate site. It then said repeat for each site, deleting the sites that are not needed on that domain.
All of that being said, it didnt seem to work when i tried to open the 2nd copy of the domain. When iWeb opened after double clicking the 2nd domain copy, it did not open and show me all 3 sites as it should have, it opened to show me the one site that i just "saved" after deleting the other sites for the previous domain i was trying to create.
I'm afraid i posisbly lost my other 2 sites. I backed up my first initial "domain" file which had all 3 sites within it on my external hard drive, and when i double clicked on that to make sure my sites weren't lost forever, same thing happened and only my lastest site that i saved on the 1st attempt to seperate domain files is visable on my iWeb.
Did i loose everything i created in my other 2 sites? How do i get them back? What did i do wrong? Any help is much appreiciated as i have a feeling i might have made a serious mistake and need some help figuring this all out!

Also, I published all of my sites "to a folder" on my hard drive before doing this as well. Is there any way to take the published folder contents and put my site back on iweb for editing again?

With three sites in a domain file here's how I would do it. Create 3 copies of your domain file and name them for the three website, i.e "website1.sites, website 2.sites, etc.
With the application discussed in the text below open website1.sites and delete website 2 and website 3 from it and save. Open website 2.sites and delete 1 and 3. Do the same for website 3.sites.
Then use the application mentioned below to open iWeb and select the website you want.
In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
NOTE: iWeb 2 is not compatible with Mt. Lion and has trouble saving to the hard drive. It's suggested you obtain iWeb 3

Trying to create two login areas for one site

I'm currently creating two different login areas for the site. One for my client to update content and one as a media/press area for downloads. Both areas work fine but it seems I can only do one login area because even if I use a different Connection script, one login area overtakes the other and you
're stuck with one setup instead of two. How can I work this so each area has its' own separate login area?

Instead of having two login forms, have one login form and utilize the user level controls. You will need to go to the login settings page and set/use the Level field on the database tab and then configure the user levels on the user levels tab.
You simply route users to different subdirectories and then secure the files for those two user directories using different user level permissions.
This removes the needs to maintain multiple connection files.
That said, do your two different login forms have different names? Different ids? Different targets/actions?

If you have to to take account to "normal" security requirements, so the easiest way in my opinion is to ask your provider for this possibility. (Passwortschutz = Password protection)
So you don't need to struggle by writing the ".htaccess" file of yourself. The advantage is, that the two files (.htaccess and .htpasswd) are created simultaneously and systemconform.

Make a duplicate of your site in the partner portal (new site based one existing) and work on that and then port over all the new files/pages etc.

Hi, I don't think I'm totally sure what you want, but one work around for making a 2d image 3d is to make it a 3d layer in after effects and then duplicate it a lot of times, offsetting the copies in z-depth, so that it builds up and extruded look.
Alternatively, if you have CS6, and the logo as a vector, you can copy the path from illustrator, and paste it into after effects as a mask. You can then copy the mask path into a shape layer, switch the AE renderer from classic to ray-traced, then use the geometry options on the layer to extrude it in 3d. If you dont have CS6, I've also used the repeater effect in shape layers to again make many duplicates of the same shape which will make a sort of 'fake' 3d extrusion.
Also I think photoshop and illustrator both have rudimentary 3D extrusion options, but I've never really used them. I would hedge bets that after effects does it better, and I also use cinema 4d which would beat after effects!

Creating Master page for publishing site

I am trying to create a master page for publishing site. I have downloaded the "StarterBranding - V1.3" from codeplex, and used the "Starter Publishing". Currently it is not showing logo, search box, top navigation, breadcrumbs.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know about the each tags useful in master page.
In SharePoint 2013 master page, there are some common tags like body tag, head tag and meta tag and some style CSS div tags. For the useful of these tags, I suggest you can refer the articles below:

In your custom master page, it will have some custom css tags depend on the display style but it is no required for master pages, if you want to know about what tags is required in master page, you can compare the custom master page with the OOTB master

Creating a Flex CMS

I am looking to create a Flex CMS for managing a school site.
I have an .xml file that is connected to my flex image gallery. To
make it easier on the people that need to edit or add information
about the photos I am looking to create a CMS. I realize that this
would involve using other technologies such as PHP but if someone
would like to assist me on this project I would be greatful. If
there is a way to do this I would also like to expand this to edit
HTML files as well. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
I was looking to Flex for this project because of the great
interface and possibities but it is not nessasary for me to use
this ( I could always go with a standard approach - HTML, PHP, etc.

The project is a new extension to the school site for clubs
and organizations. I currently have a homepage and one club site
ready. The club site is for the art club hense the image gallery. I
do not want to be resoponsible for adding content for everyones
clubs and that is why i am looking towards CMS. I will have to
check about the permissions that can be given in regards to PHP nad
MySQL access as the server is shared for the entire school
district's websites. I will be trying to push access but in the
meantime I want to get started on the website.
Each club or organization will have its own login to give it
access to changing its own site. I do not want to give them any
access to the actual files on the server. In regards to the xml
file I will try to set it up in advance and not get them to edit it
as it will probably look intimidating with 100+ nodes.

As per my knowledge, you have to create new Web Application for your site to publishing it to internet. Since internet settings can be done at web application so create new one and then backup your existing site and restore in new web app.

How can I create a search plugin for multiple fields

There are a number of sites that have search capabilities but they require entries into multiple fields.
One such site is for instance the IBM Employee directory.
(http://www.ibm.com/contact/employees/servlets/lookup)
On this site - in order to get usable results - I have to enter both First name and Last name of the employee I'm looking for.
I created a search plugin for the site, however I wasn't able to split the entered text into two parts and provide them as separate fields for the form.
Is there a way to do this?

how about if I have another anchor controller in lets say in other office and I need to anchor the traffic or load balance from HQ foreign controller , in that case if I create DHCP scope into HQ anchor controller and if its down , I will loose the connectivity , how do I achieve fail-over to another anchor ?

Different renditions will use require the page elements to be optimized accordingly.
So you can surely copy the page elements and paste in phone or tablet layout , but you would need to modify them.

CF10 enterprise - how to disable cfexecute for all sites (sandbox)

I have a new CF10 server which I will be using as shared hosting for my clients.
I would like to disable the following tags and functions globally:
TAGS
CFCONTENT
CFFILE
CFDIRECTORY
CFEXECUTE
CFOBJECT
CFREGISTRY
FUNCTIONS
GetProfileString
SetProfileString
CreateObject
I know in CF10 Standard I can block these for all sites using 'resource security', this will stop these tags from running at all.
In CF10 Enterprise I have the option to create multiple sandboxes, but is it possible to create one global sandbox for all sites?
My directory structure looks like:
D:\sites\site1
D:\sites\site2
D:\sites\site3
Can I create a sandbox disabling the above tags and functions just for D:\sites and all subfolders?
I have tried but it does not seem to work - I have a sandbox setup for D:\sites with the above tags and functions disabled, but using a test script I can still use cfexecute in site1 to execute netstat.
I do not wish to create a sandbox for each site as when new sites are added I would need to manually add a sandbox each time.
If anyone has any ideas it would be most appreciated.

If you define the sandbox to sites folder, then the settings also apply to sub-directories (as the sub directories will inherit the property from parent).
It is working at my end perfectly fine.

a) The list of users who are accessing the site
b) The list of users who have not accessed the site ( Can we do some filtration based on some conditions )

Sorry for delay in reply. I don't think this can be possible from front end without involving SQL dbo users table. If you found any other alternate please share here.
You can get site collection / sub site user details via
