Create a new log file every hour

I have a program which receives measurement data and writes this data to TDMS file. However, I want to create a new TDMS file every hour. When I put a while loop in mu sub vi which creates the new file the program doesn't run. I have attached the sub vi. Can anyone help me out here?

One trick for doing this is to prepend the file name with YYJJJHH See example
Then just check if file exists (if not create and add headder) when you write to file.
This also generates the reports in "alphabetical" order so windows explorer presents them chronologically.

6 Log Files every minute

I have a networked HP All In One Office Jet Pro L7500 running on Windows XP.
I removed all HP Software except the drivers. I was constantly getting messages from HP Monitoring SW that my printer was connected, disconnected, connected and on and on and on.
In addition, my temp folder would create 6 HP log files every minute. I hoped removing everything but the drivers would fix this - no.
I checked to see if there were updated drivers and I seem to have the latest.
How can this be fixed? My computer is freezing up if I do not delete these every few hours, also as it writes the files, my computer will slow down to a halt. The files are typically 1K but every 10 files or so will be around a 1MB.
HELP!!
Next step is removing the drivers and buying a better printer without this issue and trust me it will not be an HP if that is the case.

This is worrying to me because
A. nobody has answered yet
B. I have the same issue with an HP Photosmart D7400
I love the printer and the network caqpability, but it goes crazy with the log files to where it will eventually clog the hard drive on my Windows XP machine.
HP should reconsider the banner across the top of this paqe saying "Join the Conversation" if the chance of people doing so are slim.

Exchange creates a new logs even no mailbox uses the storage group

We are running Exchange 2007 with 4 storage groups. We have migrated most of our mailboxes to Office 365 (there two web emails need to configure SMTP relay on Office 365) and stopped Exchange backup. However, the Exchange data still increases
everyday because of the log files. In checking the those storages, no one uses storage group 2 and 3, but these two storages have a new log files every day. Why? How can we find out which mailbox uses them?

An easy way to see what mailboxes are being used on your system is to check your message tracking logs - run the following:

This should get you the information if mailboxes have been used for sending or receiving email. If you have any retention enabled in your system, this will cause messages to be removed from mailboxes. And there is the common daily calendar management
that the systems does. If you have the recoverable items and recoverable mailboxes in place, these will be removed over time. And finally, Exchange closes log files so that the database can be recovered to a certain point in time, regardless of
whether there is traffic on the database. So even if you have removed all access from your mailboxes, and in fact even if you have removed all your mailboxes, you will have transaction logs being closed.

Not able to add new log file to the 11g database.

I query the log members as bellow

and i crossverified in the data top the files are exist or not but those are not existing. but still i am getting the same error that i can't create that already exist.
can issue the bellow queris to drop those group which i dont think so it will exist?
SQL>alter database drop logfile group 3;

In Adobe 8 how do you create a bates log file?

I love this feature in Adobe 9 where one can select "output options" and change the way the bates stamped PDF is saved, to create a log file of bates numbers per document, etc. Are these same output options and bates log file options available in Adobe 8? This is a great utility---thanks for sharing it! The Javascripts folder can be hard to find--here's what worked for me:
For Macbook Pro users using Acrobat Pro X with OS X version 10 or greater, you’ll want to copy the unzipped “UVSAR_selectiveFlatten.js” file into the JavaScripts folder located in this path:
/Applications/Adobe Acrobat X Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/Resources/JavaScripts
*** IMPORTANT: To be able to see the Contents folder, you must Right-Click (Ctrl-Click if you don't have a right button) on the filename "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app", then select Show Package Contents from the pop-down menu. The Contents folder will appear in a new window and you can navigate to Contents/Resources/JavaScripts, and put the “UVSAR_selectiveFlatten.js” into the JavaScripts folder.
Once you've done that, restart Acrobat Pro and you'll find the "Flatten" option in your Edit menu. VERY handy! Tip: might want to save your original PDF file as a different version just to be safe---once you flatten the PDF, it can't be undone, so either just print and don't save, or save as different version if need be.

Is it possible to create materialized view log file for force refresh with join condition.
Say for example:

how can we create log file using 2 tables?
Also am copying M.View result to new table. Is it possible to have the same values into the new table once the m.view get refreshed?

You cannot create a record as a materialized view within the Application Designer.
But there is workaround.
Create the record as a table within the Application Designer. Don't build it.
Inside your database, create the materialized with same name and columns as the record created previously.
After that, you'll be able to work on that record as for all other within the Peoplesoft tools.
But keep in mind do never build that object, that'll drop your materialized view and create a table instead.
Same problem exists for partitioned tables, for function based-indexes and some other objects database vendor dependant. Same workaround is used.

It is working for me. Two ways to import into an existing project:
Select a project and view it in the browser in split view. If you drag image files from a folder directly into the filmstrip, the dragged image files will be added to that project.
Or select a project in the library, before you open the Import panel. Then you can switch the destination project in the Import Settings from "new Project" to the selected project.
Have you tried these methods? Where does it not work for you?

Resisting the creation of new log files when SQL SERVER is restarted

Even if you stopped SQL Server service mistakenly its not that server is gone. Yes when you stopped the server all inflight transactions are rolled back. And when SQL Server would come online it would undergo crash recovery and would bring all the databases
online by reading transaction log file and performing redo and undo of information. All committed transaction would be rolled forward and uncommitted would be rolled back.

How to create a New Excel File programmatically

Hi !
I am documenting acquired data continuously in an excel file, what I need to do is to create a new excel file automatically when the size of the previous file exceeds a certain limit lets say 1MB.
I have tried using the simple 'Create/Open File' function and the 'Write to Spreadsheet File' function to create the new excel file. I does create a file but when I open the file it says the format of the file is not what you have opened it with.
Also when the new file is created, three new worksheet are to be added programmatically with pre-defined worksheet name and also Column headers for each of the worksheet are to be added.
I am also using 'Labview Report Generation Toolkit for Office'.

Thanks for the reference to tutorial, I didn't know about them. They are useful in general but unfortunately they don't answer the problem of creating an altogether new excel file programmatically.

The template thing simplifies the issue of formatting the new file. But I am still working on the new excel file creation challenge.
Let me put my problem in a different way.
Certain data is being acquired continually and is being written to a certain excel file, when the size of the file exceeds lets say 1MB the program should start saving the data in a NEW FILE instead of the previous file.
I have attached the VI to explain what I am trying to achieve here.

Java code to create a new .txt file in FTP server --- Help

Hi,
I wrote a standalone java app which creates a .txt file in my local machine and transfers it to FTP server. But my requirement now is to create a new .txt file with the same content in FTP server itself instead of creating locally with basic java code.
I'm aware of transfering file from local machine to the FTP server using STOR command of FTP. But i never tried creating a new file & writing content into that in FTP server.
So, if any one did this before please help me out with source code or any idea ???

There's a method where you can write data to a file on the server using an OutputStream, right? Well, instead of writing to a FileOutputStream, write to that OutputStream instead. Remember to close the OutputStream and call the method which says you're finished with the command (I forget what it's called).
