Create Column in Query

Using FK: 0balance
I need to create a Column in Query to return the following
Full Year Forecast
Forecast to the end of the financial year, variable dependent on plan selected (Q1,2,3  or 4). If select Q2,3, or 4 then use Actual figures for months until the start of the plan. Eg if select Q2 then full year forecast will be Actual for April, May and June plus Forecast for July to March.
Anyone have any ideas please?
thanks

Hi Smith,
You can follow following approach.
1. Create 2 KF's (KF1 & KF2) one for actual & other for Forcast (using restriction - Plan/Actual & for Quarter / Month).
2. Use variables , say VAr1 & VAR2 (with Customer Exits) to populate values for Month/Quarter (for characteristic used in restriction in step 1) .
3. Value for variables in step 1 will be populated based on value entered for variable VAR3 (this is for user entry Q1,2,3,4).
4. Create KF3 as KF1+KF2.

  • Formula Created in BI Query appears in Universe as Measure with No Data

    Hi,
I have created the universe on top of SAP BI Query(Which is built on Infoset).
There are some formulas created in BI Query as mentioned below:
    Eg: Status1=
                        If Completion Code = null then Status1 = 0
                        If Completion Code = =10,11,18 then Status1 = 1
          Status2=
If Status1= 1 and Field Completion Date <= Regulatory Due Date then Status 2 = 3
If Status1= 0 and Report Date <= Regulatory Due Date then Status 2 = 4
In the Universe I get Status1 and Status2 as Measures.
When I use these Measure Objects in WebI report, I donu2019t see any Data for these objects in WebI Report. Both the columns for Status1 and Status2 appear Blank with no data in it, although I get the data in SAP BI Query for both Status1 and status2.
Is there any issue with the formulas to be used in SAP BI Query?
Are Formulas supported in Business Objects from SAP BI Query?
    regards,
    Nisha

    Hi Ingo,
I tried running the standard test MDX in MDXTEST and I got the data for those calculations.
But I wonder why there is no data in WebI for those formulas(Key Figures)?
In Standard test MDX the MDX Query is as Follows:
    SELECT
    [Measures].MEMBERS ON COLUMNS,
    NON EMPTY [Z_WM_IS01___F98].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS ON ROWS
    FROM ZWM_M02/Z_ZWM_M02_Q001 SAP VARIABLES
    [!V000001] INCLUDING [Z_WM_IS01___F15].[3]
Based on above Query I created the WebI report which includes the objects as described below:
one Dimension Object Notification Number which is equivalent to [Z_WM_IS01___F98].[LEVEL01].MEMBERS  from above query.
Selected All the measures objects available in query which refers to [Measures].MEMBERS
And  one Prompt on Region which is equivalent to [!V000001] INCLUDING [Z_WM_IS01___F15].[3]
Why there is no data for Calculation columns (Key Figures Status1 and Status2) in WebI Report???

  • Performance issues when creating a Report / Query in Discoverer

    Hi forum,
Hope you are can help, it involves a performance issues when creating a Report / Query.
I have a Discoverer Report that currently takes less than 5 seconds to run. After I add a condition to bring back Batch Status that = ‘Posted’ we cancelled the query after reaching 20 minutes as this is way too long. If I remove the condition the query time goes back to less than 5 seconds.

Is there anything i can do in Discoverer Desktop / Administration to avoid this problem.
    Many thanks,
    Lance

    Hi Rod,
I've tried the condition (Batch Status||'' = 'Posted') as you suggested, but the qeury time is still over 20 mins. To test i changed it to (Batch Status||'' = 'Unposted') and the query was returned within seconds again.
I’ve been doing some more digging and have found the database view that is linked to the Journal Batches folder. See below.
I think the problem is with the column using DECODE. When querying the column in TOAD the value of ‘P’ is returned. But in discoverer the condition is done on the value ‘Posted’. I’m not too sure how DECODE works, but think this could be the causing some sort of issue with Full Table Scans. How do we get around this?

  • Referencing table created column names

probably a really simple solution but I'm having trouble,
when you create a new column in an SQL query:
    example - ISNULL(row1, 99999) AS ideal
how do I then reference that column within the same query?
(example - (ideal + 10) AS newideal) When i refer to it as
ideal I get an error stating that
ideal is an invalid column name (presumably meaning it
cannot be found in any of the tables in the from clause.
is there a special prefix i need or other such system in
order to reference columns created within a query whilst still in
    said query??
    Thanks

Can't do it by alias, as you would just repeat the
calculation/function/whatever and add whatever additional "stuff"
    to create your new column.
    ISNULL(row1, 99999) AS ideal,
    ISNULL(row1, 99999)+10 AS newideal
    etc.

  • Please guide to improve the performance of XML column reading query.

    Hi Experts,

The total number of records in the table is 1060.
Even it's a very small table why it's taking 45 seconds.

The problem only with REST column XMLTYPE.
If I am not selecting this column I am getting output in 1 to 2 seconds.

    Hello,
I would like you to try the following to adjust your readerquotas.
Change the values of the parameters listed below to a larger value. We recommend that you double the value and then run the query to check whether the issue is resolved. To do this, follow these steps:
On the SharePoint 2010 server, open the Web.config file. The file is located in the following folder:
    \Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\14.0\Web Services\PpsMonitoringServer\
Locate and change the the below values from 8192 to 16384.
Open the Client.config file. The file is located in the following folder:
    \Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\14.0\WebClients\PpsMonitoringServer\
Locate and change the below values from 8192 to 16384.
After you have made the changes, restart Internet Information Services (IIS) on the SharePoint 2010 server.
    <readerQuotas
    maxStringContentLength="2147483647"
    maxNameTableCharCount="2147483647"
    maxBytesPerRead="2147483647"
    maxArrayLength="2147483647"

  • How to create an ABAP Query with OR logical expression in the select-where

    Hi,
In trying to create an ABAP query with parameters. So it will select data where fields are equal to the parameters entered. The default logical expression is SELECT.. WHERE... AND.. However I want to have an OR logical expression instead of AND.. how can I attain this??
Please help me on this.. Points will be rewarded.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Question Man

    Hi Bhupal, Shanthi, and Saipriya,
Thanks for your replies. But that didn't answer my question.
    Bhupal,
You cannot just replace AND with OR in an ABAP QUERY. ABAP QUERY is a self generated SAP code. You'll just declare the tables, input parameters and output fields to be displayed and it will create a SAP standard code. If you'll try to change the code and replace the AND with OR in the SAP standard code, the system will require you to enter access key/object key for that particular query.
    Shanthi,
Yes, that is exactly what need to have. I need to retireve DATA whenever one of the conditions was satisfied.
    Saipriya,
Like what I have said, this is a standard SAP code so we can't do your suggestion.
I have already tried to insert a code in the ABAP query (there's a part there wherein you can have extra code) but that didn't work. Can anybody help me on this.
    Thanks a lot.

  • How to get cm:search to use the max attribute when creating the SQL query?

When we use the max attribute in the cm:search tag, it does not seem to honor the max attribute when creating the SQL query. However, the result returned from the tag is limited to the number specified by the max attribute. Then the tag seems to work as intended, but the performance will be sub optimal when the SQL query returns unnecessary rows to the application.
We use the cm:search tag to list the latest news (ordered by date), and with the current implementation we have to expect a decrease in performance over time as more news is published. But we can’t live with that. We need to do the constraint in the SQL query, not in the application.
The sortBy attribute of cm:search is translated to “order by” in the SQL query, as expected.
Is it possible to get cm:search to generate the SQL query with an addition of “where rownum <= maxRows”?

    Hi Erik,
The behavior of a repository in regards to the search tag's max results parameter is dependent on the underlying repository's implementation. That said, the OOTB repository in WLP does augment the generated SQL to limit the number of rows returned from the database. This is done in the parsing logic. This behavior may differ with other repository implementations.

  • Issue in creating a new query

    Hi Experts,
I am facing following problem in creating a new query.
User entered the billing date at run time in the query
he wants to see the sales figures Expiry date wise where expiry date will be equal to billing date+15.
For example if user gives Billing date as 01.09.2010 then he wants to see the sales figure for Expiry date= 16.09.2010
how is it possible on query level?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Prakash

    Hello Prakash,
First create date variable (include day, month, year)
Restrict the above date variable to the sales figure to get 01.09.2010
again restrict the date vairable to the sales figure (with set variable offset+1) to get secound day sales figure i.e 02.09.2010.
COntinute for 15 off set to get 19.09.2010 sales figure.
    Hope you understand it.
Please let me know if you need any help.
    Thanks.

  • How to create columns in Pages 5.2.2

Please help me create columns in Pages

    Hi Picas -
Thanks for that tip - I was having similar problem.  In my mind and thinking, I should be able to make the column split first, then add the text I want in each one.  Is there away to do this without creating a table?   I am trying to keep track of information (similar to cause and effect), and as you think of one thing for column A, I have a reply for column B.    It is not a critical issue by any means; it would help my workflow, though, tremendously.
    Thanks!

  • Can't create a new query with an error msg

We used to create a query called, eg, Q, then we copied it to Q_1 and deleted Q, but somehow when we try to rename the copied query Q_1 back to Q by creating a new query called Q, get error msg saying that 'Query name Q exists already'.  When we try to find the query from BEX analysor, can't find it, and also the query is not an entry of the table RSZCOMPDIR.  Somehow the query Q still exists somewhere in the system.
Anyone's idea is greatly appreciated on how to resolve the problem!

    hi Kevin,
with RSZDELETE, the query visible ?
    check thread
    Deleting "Ghost" queries
    Deleting queries using RSZDELETE
    try program ANALYZE_RSZ_TABLES ? (OSS Note 792779)
    hope this helps.
