Create Gradient From Color Group

I think it would be good to add a feature that allows you to drag a 'Color Group' to the Fill box or to the gradient window which then creates a gradient, evenly spacing each color in the group. This features is mainly for convenience and time-saving purposes. It allows for gradients to be created quicker as it saves the user from having to drag each swatch over to the gradient window.
Thanks.

Lucien,
So that's a "no", then?
Indeed.
Would it mean no if I said yes?

  • Why does Illustrator CS6 create gradients through clip groups?

    Hi,
This may be a stupid question, but I jumped to CS6 from CS3 and am a bit confused. I create graphics for stock imagery and it is important to minize the amount of shapes. I created my first image with CS6 that has several gradients and my file is enormous because when I viewed it with "Overprint view" it showed that all gradients consisted of several paths contained in a clip group. How do I avoid this? Any help would be appreciated!

I just made a very primitive inerpretation of clip art which is the kind of stuff sold for stock.
There are no clipping paths even though there are many paths with gradient fills. Can you explain how you create the art and or prepare a video so we can watch you create one shape with which you use the gradient that produces this clipping group?

  • Is it possible to get A gradient. from color to alpha? in illustrator?!

I searched and i searched, i couldn't find anything. Like in photoshop is it possible why not in illustrator!??
Explain plz. if it's possible or impossible?
    Thanks you.

You need two objects to make an opacity mask. One is the solid object the mask is applied to, the other is a shaded object that applies the mask. You want a white box with a gradient above it. The gradient will go from white (solid) to black (transparent). Select both the gradient and the white box, then choose Make Opacity Mask from the Transparency palette.
Oh, and ALWAYS provide version numbers. We can't help you if we don't know what you have.

  • Applying color groups to grouped art gets randomized

Hey Guys,  I've been fighting with this issue for a bit over here.
I have a collection of color groups, that I am applying to grouped objects,
but every time I change out the color group, it randomizes the order which
    the colors are applied.
In the kind of bulk work I'm doing, its really turning into an hours burner.
The specific process I'm using (I've tried several different ways with the same result)
    1) Draw my art
    2) Group the art
    3) Create a new color group with my art selected.
    4) Double click the color group and recolor.
    5) Save the swatches
    ----- so far so good
    6) Double Click a different color group (or select from the Recolor panel)
-- here the other color group (swatches) get applied, but every time I do it, the order of which color is applied to

In Xara Designer Pro one can name colors, which means one can change the named colors--and all tints of colors associated with it, and change them. Not quite the same request as above, but it is an incredibly handy function. But I don't use it much as I don't do variations.
A friend of mine does, though. He illustrates cars for large format printing to be framed by his customers. Ron Duke is the artist.
Changing from the named colors is pretty quick. The above, with the exception of the roof and exhaust changes, takes seconds to change the body color and glass tinting.
    Take care, Mike

  • Fill/stroke gradients from shape tool option bar: editing color stop/midpoint location values

    Hi!
In PS6 beta 1 (20120305.m415), the new gradient editor available from the shape tool option bar, used to edit gradient for both fill and stroke, doesn't contain editable stops location percentage input fields.
Those are available from the traditional gradient editor dialog box, for opacity and color stops and midpoints. They are quite handy to create gradient with some precise stops.
Could you please enhance the new gradient editor and add either these two location fields, or at least, a tooltip which displays a stop/midpoint percentage value as we drag it?
    Thanks,
    el' ~

If you click on the gradient bar it will bring up the full gradient editor.

  • HT2513 my iCal calendar that I created with the color green keeps changing to purple.  no matter how many times I change it to green, it turns it back to purple.  Of course this only happens with iCloud and not "from my Mac".  Any ideas?

my iCal calendar that I created with the color green keeps changing to purple.  no matter how many times I change it to green, it turns it back to purple.  Of course this only happens with iCloud and not "from my Mac".  Any ideas on how to correct this?  This seems like a trivial error, but it's super annoying.

I called Apple and they said that they know about this problem.  It's a problem with iCloud which their Engineers know about.  (there was a new iCloud release, hence...)  No ETA for a fix yet.  I asked that this be escalated so Engineering doesn't put it at the bottom of their fix list.  I talked to a Senior Advisor and mentioned to them to have QA check their regression tests as this has happened before to me (the problem just didn't take this long to resolve).  I like to use green too for important stuff, so I've resorted to creating a new calendar using the normal calendar green for events going forward.  They could have picked another color besides green to have this problem with and I wouldn't have been so upset.  ;-)

  • Create PDF from webpage font color turns white

While using Create PDF from a web page the text in the final PDF is colored white so I cannot see it.  Italicized text remains black and is find.  However, the font color of standard text is turned white.  I know the text is there because I can use the text editing tool to copy the text out into notepad.  This problem occurs with Adobe Acrobat X and XI.  However, when I use Adobe Acrobat VIII there is not problem.  Furthermore, with the website I am converting to PDF the problem only happens if I try to convert the entire site, which is about 1,100 pages.  If I stop the job half way, the font color remains fine.
    Any ideas?

Under the Settings... button in the Create PDF from web page dialog, do you have the checkbox selected for "Force These Settings for All Pages"?

  • How can one create a paint color generated from a photo using Kuler?

How can one create a paint color generated from a photo using Kuler?

The best way to remove a pattern is to use a Fast Fourier Transform.  There's a free plugin (as well as examples and instructions) here:
    http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6795661/4N6site/improc/fftplugin/examples.htm
Using the plugin requires editing the individual colour channels, which PSE does not natively allow.  You'll need the reasonably-priced Elements+ addin:
    http://elementsplus.net/
Here's a crop at 100% of the result I got:
The pattern is much reduced.  With some experimenting, you can probably do a little better.

  • How to create windows users and groups from Java

    Hi,
Can any one please tell me, which Package/API will helps to create windows users and groups from Java.
    Thanks,
    M.Prem.

You can't do it with pure Java, and it's not in the core API. You'd have to write a native function to do it, using whatever API Windows provides, and then call it with JNI. Or look for a third party native-based Java library that already does that.

  • How to get Recolor Artwork tool to let me choose from my color groups

When I use the Recolor Artwork tool to change all the colors on an image at once, I can't figure out how to get it to let me choose from my color groups in my library. I have my library loaded on the side panel, but it won't let me choose from then when I use this otherwise awesome tool. Help, what's the trick?

You mean Edit > Edit colors > Recolor art?
Please show some screenshots of what's happening.

  • Converting a gradient from a spot color to a process build, hides vector elements

I have been using Illustrator for many years and consider myself very familiar with it, but recently ran into a strange issue I have never seen before.
The background element is a radial gradient with points of 0% to 50% of a spot color. The file came to me as one single layer, with the gradient in question above a vector rectangle. The rectangle shows up fine, however, until I convert the gradient from a spot to a process build at which point the box is no longer visible. The initial issue I found was that the box is beneath the gradient, but my question is why would it be visible as long as the gradient uses a spot and then disappear behind it when converted to a process build?

    Version is CS5.
Part of what made the issue so confusing is that there are no effects applied. Applying the overprint feature or multiply effect don't effect the outcome either. It's only something that can be fixed by moving the gradient to a layer behind the element which is disappearing. My question is less about how to fix it (I've done that and moved on) and more about why this would happen - it seems to be a strange anomoly.
In response to the replies involving the method of color conversion:
I have used all of the methods mentioned and the end result is the same. It is starting to look to me like this is a fluke that happened with this particular file and that it is not something that can be duplicated intentionally.

  • Creating gradient colors in a circle - InDesign CS2 or Illustrator??

Hi -- trying to create a circle with multi-colored 'wedges' (can I attach an image here???). It seems I can only create gradients vetically or horizontally -- and I need it to look more like "pie slices" in the circle, if that makes sense. I am new - sorry. Should I keep struggling in Illustrator or InDesign?
Any design tips GREATLY appreciated -- I'm trying to recreate a logo, original atrwork not available. Can send original if anyone is interested.. many many thanks, Colleen

I know how to do it in Photoshop, but I did a quick look and can't find
anything in Illulstrator or Indesign. I guess the problem is there
wouldn't be a clear beginning and end to the gradient.
anyway, if you're interested, in photoshop, create a linear gradient
that takes up the whole canvas, then do Filter > Distort > Polar
    Coordinates.

  • Is it possible to upload color groups from Illustrator CC?

Is there anyway to upload a color group from Illustrator to Adobe Cloud and have it appear as a Color Theme? I can only seem to upload individual colors. Alternatively, is it possible to group individual colors that have been uploaded into a Color Theme?
I am running Illustrator CC 18.1.1 on Mac 10.9.5 (Mavericks.)
    Thanks,.

Upload? You should be able to tap and hold down on an image until the Copy or Save Image options popup. Tap Save and it should be saved to the camera roll album in the photos app.

  • How to get color group from illustrator into flash

    Hi,
I have difficulties with the color management between Illustrator and Flash.
I have the original vector files in Illustrator and would like to use the color groups, I have in Illustrator, also in Flash.
One way doing it is using the Kuler.
But I can not get the colors from Illustrator into Kuler.
Can someone advice how to manage that process?
    Many thanks in advance!

I'm fairly new to this having only recently started using these tools again after six years, but will try to help! Go to "Explore", find a theme you like and click the "Edit" selection when you mouse over it. From there you can edit it or save a copy of it as is as whatever name you wish. In Photoshop or Illustrator, they will now show up in Adobe Color Themes (Window > Extensions > Adobe Color Themes) under "All Themes" in the drop menu. In these apps (and others that are Adobe Color Theme aware), any themes that you favorite on the site will show up under "My Favorites".
If you're using Fireworks, it's different as it still uses Kuler (Window > Extensions > Kuler).  Themes you save or favorite on the site don't automatically show up there, however you can search for themes by name, and if you select "Custom" from the theme group dropdown, you can enter up to four names that will show up in that dropdown menu and produce as many results as the window can hold for an individual term. For instance, I saved a theme as "Copy of Industrial Calm" which if I enter in the search box, the "group" is a group of one. However, if I just type "Industrial", the window fills with options, yet there are MANY more results on the Adobe Color site and you would have to be specific to get the right one in that window.
    Hope that helps.
