  • Show/hide objects/fields in PDF application (form) ...

    Hello,
    I'm creating a PDF application (form).
    The layout is being done in InDesign then the fields/buttons/drop-down boxes are being added in Acrobat Pro.
    I have a situation in the application where the user will select an option from a drop-down menu ... let's say the options are "car" and "airplane". (These are just examples.)
    when the applicant selects "car" it should only show the following fields ...
    Tires
    Engine
    Fuel Economy
    When the applicant selects "airplane" it should only show the following fields ...
    Wingspan
    Max. Altitude
    Seating Capacity
    How do I do this? I only want the applicant to see/access the fields that are relevant to the selections they make earlier in the application.
    From what I've found online, "Java Script" is what I need to work with ... but I have no idea how that works.
    I have no ability to write code from scratch, but I have been successfull at modifiying existing code.
    Some examples or some code that I can copy/paste and modify would be great.
    Also, where do I go within Acrobat to access/modify the code?
    Thanks in advance!

    Edited by: Savio85 on Jun 10, 2010 4:07 AMSo you expect people to sign up to Google so that they can see Google docs? Why should anyone make any effort to help you if you make this little effort to create any sort of problem description?
    Anyway, if you want to create an "interactive form" using Swing, there is only one thing to do: learn the Swing API. Lucky for you there is a great online resource for that:

  • Problem with CORBA application deployed using Java Web Start 1_6_0.

    Java Web Start fans and experts:
    We have been using Java Web Start to deploy the client side of a CORBA-based application since the inception of Java Web Start ... including Java Web Start 1.0 right up through the present.
    With Java Web Start 1_6_0, we see evidence that Web Start is "tinkering with" the IOR that CORBA uses to communicate. In all previous versions of Java Web Start, independent of the JRE which the application uses, the stringified IOR have been the same size regardless of whether the application is deployed locally or via Java Web Start. With Java Web Start 1_6_0, the stringified IOR is much longer than the "real" IOR (again, regardless of the JRE used by the application itself). To me this smells like a bug in Java Web Start 1_6_0. Has anyone else observed this behavior?
    Here are some specifics .... I've run the same client application with various JREs both with and without Java Web Start as the deployment mechanism. The application was compiled and runs against servers that are running JDK 1_5_0_09.
    Here is the summary of my results from a Linux box running various JREs, various versions of Java Web Start, and also running as a non-JWS deployed application. I've listed the length of the stringified IOR in each case.
    JRE 1.5.0 non-JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344
    JRE 1.6.0 non-JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344 ... this, I think, excludes the JRE as the cause of these problems.
    Java WS 1.5.0, JRE 1.5.0 JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344
    Java WS 1.5.0, JRE 1.6.0 JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344
    Java WS 1.6.0, JRE 1.6.0 JWS client: stringified IOR length = 1568
    Java WS 1.6.0, JRE 1.5.0 JWS cleint: stringified IOR length = 1568
    In all cases, the stringified IOR length is determined by the service receiving the message and is always running JRE 1_5_9_09 and is
    always the same 344 characters in length UNLESS it was deployed
    using Java Web Start 1_6_0, in which case it in nearly 5 times as big!
    To me, it sure looks as if there is a problem with Java Web Start 1_6_0 to be adding so much to the stringified IOR. Note: it's hard to tell how different the underlying IOR is in the JWS 1_6_0 case because, unlike most other ORBs, the Sun ORB doesn't have a tool to extract the IOR into a human readable structure. However, I can think of no good reason why the identical application deployed using Java Web Start 1_6_0 should have a stringified IOR length that is different than that of the same application deployed in non-JWS form or should differ from the behavior seen in all previous releases of Java Web Start.
    Any clues or suggestions? Has anyone else observed this behavior?
    Thanks,
    John

  • How to Create an Input Form using a Transient View Object?

    I would like to use a Transient View Object to store data from input forms across a multiple-page enrollment process.
    My question is how to I create the input form using the Transient View Object on the .jspx page? Do I drag/drop an ADF creation form onto the page? Or, use a regular ADF form? Do I need to create the initial row progammatically?
    Just looking for some general directions or set of instructions? I've looked at the SRDemo example (Globals Transient View Object), but I'm not sure how they created the page at design time?
    thanks

    Well following the SRDemo example, this seems to work:
    1. Create Transient View Object
    2. Add to Application Module as a Data control
    3. Add to .jspx page as an ADF Form (not as an ADF Create Form)
    4. Add following code to Application Module containting Transient VO instance:
    protected void prepareSession(Session session) {
    super.prepareSession(session);
    insertTransientViewObjRows();
    private void insertTransientViewObjRows() {
    ViewObject transientvo = getViewObj1();
    transientvo.clearCache();
    transientvo.insertRow(transientvo.createRow());
    }

  • Problem to print pdf-based forms using matricial Epson printer

    I need print pdf-based forms using an EPSON FX 2190 printer.
    In The sap note 685571 I read that can print PDF-based forms on all printers installed in the SAP system as long as the relevant XDC file exists.
    I do not found XDC file to EPSON device type, a Epson fx 2190 do not support postscript.
    Can I use this printer to pdf-based forms?
    I need that spool request (pdf) have a output immediately on EPSON printer.
    thanks in advanced for your cooperation to solve it.

    I am afraid you cannot make your scenario work if there is no XDC provided. Maybe you can create one, but I don´t know how difficult that can be or how to do that. Maybe you can get more help under ABAP > Form printing where there are guys experienced with this printing details. Regards, Otto

    Hi Yogi,
    In your sceanario if you are looking to build either Enity or Application service then create it and test that service from "Service Browser". Once your service is working as per your reqyurements then we have to options to bring it into the Portal:
    1. Generate Web Service for you Service (Entity or Application).
    2. Consume that Web Service in WebDynpro application using Model concepts.
    3. Deploy your WebDynpro Application into your portal Server.
    4. Create a WebDynpro iView for your application and assign it any where you want.
                                                         OR
    1. Generate WebDynpro model for your CAF application.
    2. Create a public part for you application webdynpro project of your CAF application.
    3. Create a new WebDynpro DC and use the Models generated for your CAF application.
    4. Deploy your WebDynpro Application into your portal Server.
    5. Create a WebDynpro iView for your application and assign it any where you want.
    If you can give your complete scenario then that would be more helpful for any one to provide best answer which is approapriate for you.
    Thanks,

  • How to create a packet by using java?

    Hi, i am currently working on a research and i have some problems here.
    1) how to create a packet by using java programming ?
    2) How can i set the packet's information (e.g: packet's length, size of its header, etc) by using java?
    I am currently in a midst of this now and i hope that someone is willing to correspond to my questions and help me out of it.
    Thank you!

    I wan to create a customize packet where the user can
    define the header size, the packet's length etc. in
    the program......Then you get to write it to the connection yourself. Look at the OutputStream classes to see how to write low level output to a connection.

    give me some hint It is essential task .we have to implement code in  java

    I'm using the thin drivers.
    The answer to your question is no, you do not need to create a DSN to connect to Oracle. The Oracle thin driver is all that is required. Your code looks OK to me, I'm assuming that you xxx'd out the IP, and that you are using a real IP in the actual code.
    The message you got back is pretty generic, but can indicate that the Oracle database listener isn't available. Perhaps the database is on a different port, or perhaps the listerner isn't running. Perhaps you have the IP address wrong.
    So, to be very basic:
    1) Can you ping the server you are trying to connect to? This makes sure you are using a valid IP address.
    2) Can you connect to the Oracle server from an Oracle client? This makes sure the listener is running properly, and that you know the correct port number and login information (The port number could be in a local or server based TNS file, or available through an Oracle names server. You might try using the program tnsping if it is available on the client for validation.
    3) If you can do 1 and 2, then be sure you are using the same connection parameters (server, port userid and password) that worked with 2.
    4) Verify that you are using (pointing to) the correct set of Oracle classes for the thin connection. This can be tricky if you have different versions of Oracle on the client then on the server, but is documented on the Oracle website.
    5) If everything checks out, you might want to verify that you are using the most recent versions of the thin drivers, including the Oracle patches.
    Hope it helps - good luck,
    Joel
