Create video effect similar to 'virtual choir'

I am using premiere pro and also after effects to try and make something similar to virtual choir effects in which multiple videos animate together in globes or we see it panning across a wall of moving videos. Can someone please point me in the direction of the tutorial which explains how to create this Effect? I can get multiple videos simultaneously in fixed positions but there must be an easier way to animate and synchronise multiple videos clips together Than dealing with each of the video slips individually.

Trapcode Particular or Form, most likely. you can generate similar effectrs however by using Displacement effects such as Turbulent Displace. Use masks in combination with the Stroke effect, animate the starts and ends. Then apply Al lthe other effects and animate their parameters to get that smokey look. You can further refine this by adding CC Force Motionblur. Of course feel free to throw any other effect like Glow and Box Blur into the equation.

  • How do I create this effect?

Hi, I have been searching on tutorials to produce the attached effect, but the problem is, I don't know how to describe it and have very little experience printing on fabric. I'll be submitting a vector image to a production company for printing on silk, and would like to create an effect similar to the soft-edged coloration in the ice tea and umbrellas. I tried feathering but there dosen't seem to be an option to feather one side of things. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance - Julia
Bonus question:  Does the linetype look basic, with the fabric altering the edges or does it look like a custom line type?

What you show looks like a simple pattern of 3 pictures.
I’m pretty sure that the fuzzines is either due to poor printing or poor photography or both.

  • Advice on creating this effect?

How can I create an effect similar to what is seen in this image with the shapes seemingly radiating from the computer display? Is this just creating the shape and copying-and-pasting it over and over again and transforming it into each spot? Is there a better way to do this?
    Thanks!

Yes by hollow arrow tool I am referring to the direct select tool. In my screenshot notice the left side of vector points is solid, and the right are hollow. this means the left side point were selected, then simply scale using the scale tool.
To distort the screenshot is easy but a little tricky:
    Select your screenshot
    Select the free transform tool
Begin to pull one of the four centers (Keep holding the mouse down)
Now add he CMD key modifier on the mac or CTRL on the PC

  • How to create this video effect in my videos?

Hi all, new here, just got Premiere Elements 7 a week back, and must say i'm impressed...
I came across a video effect in a song found here (found from 0:53 till 1:30) where the screen goes completely white for a fraction of a second in a smooth manner and the picture returns again after that.
In fact i also want the effect of the fast forwarding of the video (audio remains the same) for a few seconds, which can also be found in the same clip in the same duration as i stated earlier... But till now i haven't been so successful at applying these...
Can you please help me out? Thanks!

For the "flash to white" you might take Paul's suggestion and invert it, i.e. placing the white matte on the Video Track (VT) above your footage, and Keyframing its Opacity. Personally, I'd look at doing this with Keyframing of Levels and cutting in a few frames of the white matte. Not sure about PE's Levels Effect (might look into some of the other "brightness" Effects too), but I'd be doing this in PrPro, which has a few more similar Effects.
One tip on the "fast-forward:" this was likely shot that way, with the camera mounted on a sturdy tripod and the a momentary switch used on the camera to do "stop motion" as the actors moved in the scene. If you do the Time Remapping, make sure to shoot on a tripod, so that the background does not change positions, only the actors to keep it looking clean. It also appeared to me that the videographer shot a few frames without the talent in the scene and these were either created in camera, or were inserted. I might have imagined this, but its use could be effective also. To keep the Audio at the exact pitch and speed, when Time Remapping, you'll want to use a soundtrack, and not rely on the Audio from the camera. You can do some work with the camera Audio to try and maintain pitch, but it can be a lot of work. Even for ambient sounds, i.e. the background sounds of the field, or forrest, I'd keep it, plus the soundtrack, separate from the Video stream.
An older Sci-Fi parody, "Ice Bandits" used a bit of stop motion freeze-framing and also under-cranking of the camera, for both Audio & Video, to create a humorous take on this Effect. If you can get a copy of that (might be on DVD?), look at the battle-scenes near the end. Heavy makeup changes were also incorporated to simulate "aging" when the action was sped up. The Time Remapped Audio contributed to the humor aspect, as the voices took on a "chipmunk-like" sound, and even the SFX were sped up too.
I don't see much real stop motion anymore in video, as much can be done in post. Back in the cine days, it was used for all sorts of effects. Jack Boseburg did a three-film trilogy, called "Trolley," that incorporated a lot of real stop-motion camera work. In his film, he controlled the camera with an intervelometer.  I doubt that you could find a copy of this, however, as it was never commercially released.
    Good luck,

    Hello Ellie,
    This is what I do:
First Create the brushes by selecting the shapes desired. Select the shape and place it into the burshes window.
    (Main Menu: Window + Brushes)
Then A new window will show: Please select "New Scatter Brush"
After you click OK, a new window will appear:
In here I have selected Random Size, Spacing and Rotation. You may want to adjust the percentages to you design. The last thing to select is the Colorization Method; in this case "Tints" is selected because will allow me to change the color of the shape by using the color pallet window. After that click Ok and use the brush tool.
This is the end result after using the Mask Feature:
I know you can do something a lot better than this sample. I hope this helps!

  • How can i create this videos effect ?

Hello, i am new here, and i have a project in my hand. I have to create a slideshow presentation on certain subject.   I have completed the slideshow using a tool called,PhotoStage Slideshow Producer, with a bunch of 60 images. Now i want to add a small video effect in the beginning of the slideshow to make it look more professional. Here is the download link for the video. http://www.mediafire.com/download/i5az6a7rjp3lbkn/Video.rar This video is farely advanced for my liking, but you got the general message. I want something really simple and i want to add it in between different images for some effect. I may be asking in the wrong forum, again. Can Adobe’s Premiere Pro do it , or is there some other simple program that can make these kind of effect. Thank you.

Might be able to create it with Filter > Render > Clouds with your foreground and background colors set to the lighter and darker versions of your selected color. Then you might need to use Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur to smooth things out

  • I'm creating live video effects using a midi controller

I am creating live video effects using a midi controller on a mcabook. The final destination for the video content is an ipad app which uses the built in iPad camera to capture video. I want to "trick" the ipad into "filming" the video from the macbook with the effects. Does anyone have any ideas - software orhardware solutions are all viable. The ipad accepts audio through an Alesis iODock. I really be looking for a software solution which will over ride the built in camera on the ipad and accept a feed from the Macbook.

You can't override the physical camera and substitute the macbook camera.
You could find an app or write one that would have the macbook stream the video over wifi from the macbook to the iPad.

  • Recomended configurations for creating video for the web

I'm working on a project creating video segments for the web (no plans for broadcast of DVD) and I'm looking for opinions on the most efficient way to use FCP to do this. We are shooting with an HD camera with a green screen and composting a couple of additional layers of Motion graphics and we found that the render times were really long. I'm looking for ways to mitigate this, on thing we did was switch from shooting in 1080p to 720p. We also tried shooting at 24fps instead of the broadcast 60fps and that cut our render time by a good percentage. Since the final product is going to be 640 by 360 at 15fps it seems like a good trade off but are there any down sides I'm not thinking of.
I was also wondering if there might be an advantage to working at the size of the final product, if the FCP sequence were 640 by 360 would there be any advantages in terms of render times and what might the disadvantages would be.
This is my first semi-professional project, just been a hobbyist up until now so any advice is appreciated.

those simple steps reduced the number of pixels in each frame from about a million to 750,00, about 25%; and you reduced the number of frames from 30 or 60 to 24 or 48. So, yeah, your rendering times are going down. If your Motion project has ten HD layers you're saving tons of processing.

Absolutely. But you engaged the project without knowing how you were going to accomplish anything; implies your plans for improving workflow will be similarly incomplete. We all got by with NTSC and plan ol' DV for decades. The web is a low end distribution system, not a theatrical viewing experience. You can force your viewers to download a huge file and watch it on their TVs or you can open it up in weensy teeny window on their iPhones.

Purists will be correct in telling you better source footage results in better uploads. I will tell you that's true but it's academic. Your realworld needs are based on your web upload, not your plans to archive high def footage for future exploitation.
Here's what I'd do: Work backwards. Figure out what your upload needs are--exactly. Research Compressor and other compression systems to determine how you are going to process your project to get the target output. Now decide what format that software wants to process to create the best results. then figure out how you want to provide that input for the compression application. then figure out what the tradeoffs are for your original footage in terms of your camera resources, your skills with the camera, and your mistaken impression that effects and chromakey should be fast.

  • PRE 9: multiline title   overlay with a "warp wave" Video effect

I am trying for the following effect: Overlay a photo of a garden that is transmuting from a plane photo to a cartoon image (I have succeeded with this part of the effect) with a title. On separate part of the time line I have created a title that will be a video overlay of the photo & starts out with 0 opacity goes to 100% as "warp wave" Video effect (I have succeeded with this part of the effect) & then straightens out to be normal text --this is the part I can't correctly do.
When I figure out how to do the above I still have to move this sectional piece to overlay the Garden photo, which could be problematic
I will gladly change this method if there is easier way to accomplish the title, which is a multiline overlay to  a photo with a "warp wave" Video effect that straightens out the text.
    Has anyone done something similar?

Although it sounds like you're creating your title effect on a separate timeline? Not sure why you're doing that. It makes much more sense to just put it on a video track above your background.
If the Title is in a different Project, then Exporting/Sharing with Transparency must be considered. A Title in PrE will have Transparency, but one must take that into consideration, when doing the Export/Share, for use in other Projects. This is where the Millions of Colors + comes in, with many formats/CODEC's. The + is the Alpha Channel, and will be needed for Transparency.
    Good luck,

  • How to create an intro similar to the Mary Tyler Moore Show

    Hi Everyone,
This is literally my first attempt at working with After Effects. I was wondering how to create an intro similar to the text animation found in this Mary Tyler Moore Show intro video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1GC6yXZ4e4
I have been able to create a similar effect where the text is a yellow/green with the blue background, but I was wondering how to multiply the text as it appears in that youtube video and how it seemlessly spreads out of the center text. I've searched for youtube tutorials but haven't had any luck. Since I am unfamiliar with all of the terminology of after effects I felt perhaps I wasn't searching for the right term. I did look at the preset text animations but there weren't any that demonstrated what I had in mind. I need to figure this out soon because I'm putting together a video that needs to be completed in a few weeks.
Thanks in advanced for any advice you could share.

Three text layers animated in 3D space, then a bunch of duplicates of the text with animated position. It's just layer order and a little work, not a plug-in. Drop that comp in another and use the text pre-comp as a track matte to reveal the video below. These are AE basic skills. Please go through the getting started materials or search Adobe TV for getting started with After Effects.

  • Effects similar to auto-tune in CS5.5?

Anyone know how I can apply effects similar to auto-tune in Audition CS5.5? I don't really want an effect as strong as most mainstream music, only to add a tiny bit of trance/robotic echo effect to my vocal tracks, similar to some parts in Pentatonix's Daft Punk track: [Official Video] Daft Punk - Pentatonix - YouTube.
    Thanks.

    A couple things to check:
    - Make sure you've got the latest AME 7.0.1 update installed
    - Try holding the Shift key down while launching AME  to clear your prefs. If that doesn't work, try deleting these folders (NOTE: this will delete any user presets or custom workspaces you've created):
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\7.0\
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\7.0\
    - Try adding your Premiere project directly to AME's queue via drag-and-drop or by using File > Add Source.  Do your sequences render correctly in this workflow?

  • 3D video effect-example

    Hello !
Check out bottom video link, you will see cool 3d effect.
I would like to replicate it, does anybody know how to ???.
It seems to be a video effect in some video editor but also must be recorded in similar way.
If you want to record that you have one problem because you have to be in one moment in many different spots to record. So it think this is software effect.
Any suggestion ?? Is it possible to create this in Motion or Final Cut Pro,...
    http://www.pinkbike.com/video/506/

if you mean the effect where the point of view moves while the subject is frozen or in slow motion, this is usually created either with multiple cameras (more complex methods include moving the camera around a subject against a greenscreen then compositing it with footage of the background, and of course cgi)
this search will get you some tutorials...
    http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=bullettimetutorial&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
...you'll need to sift the results to avoid the ones aimed at 3d animation

  • Creating an effects preset

So, I saw in a thread somewhere recently (though I don't remember now where) that someone mentioned having created an effects preset with the motion effect to easily do the "Ken Burns" effect on a collection of still pictures to make a nice slideshow.
Though I far prefer working with video, I often have to work with collections of still images, and it's horribly time consuming to apply keyframes to each picture to create that effect on a slideshow, especially when I'm working with 50+ images. I've even cheated and gone the easy route by automating them in PPT and then converting that PPT to an AVI (though I hate doing that).
I'm sure I could figure it out, but wondered if someone could edumacate me on how to create that preset to automatically apply the "burns" effect to my timeline of stills?

    Dave,
For me, that "magical plug-in" would need some pretty sophisticated AI (not Adobe Illustrator here), as it would have to be able to decide exactly what my intended subject was, and then create the Zoom/Pan to highlight/focus on that subject.
Let's just take a group graduation shot, as a for instance. How would the plug-in know that my subject was the third from the right in the second row? When doing similar, long, long before digital days, and actually before Ken Burns, we had to do this for about 100 historical still images, some from the US Civil War. In some, we would Zoom and Pan to maybe a nurse in a MASH tent, administering care. In another, it would be a Pan over the carnage on the battlefield, pausing on the faces. One image was of the old hospital/nursing school building, and we Zoomed and Panned to the Catholic cross over one of the doors.
If the subject is always shot, bullseye style, and is always in the very center of the image, things are much easier, but let us hope that they are NOT shot with that framing.
PrE has a Random Pan & Zoom Preset, and it also will throw in Random Transitions, IIRC. Trouble is still "what is the subject of that image?" The Random Pan & Zoom might end up going to the subject's little dog, rather than the subject. That might be OK, if Spot is being featured at that point. OTOH, it might end up on the subject's foot. Is that what we really want there.
Guess that it's because I come to Video, after many decades doing stills, but I want total, and unique control, based on MY idea of what the real subject is. Manual Keyframing gets me what I need. Now, if the Durations are the same, or close, I might well do the Copy and Paste Attributes to get the mechanics set up, but then will go, image by image, and adjust everything to suit.
Good luck. Maybe with better speech recognition in software, we can one day let our eyes direct the Pan & Zooms, just by focusing on the subject. Just don't look across the edit suite at the cat - no telling what the software would do...

  • What video effect for color desaturation? (e.g. Hue/Saturation in Photoshop)

    Hi all,
What is the Premiere equivalent of the HUE/SATURATION adjustment layer found i Photoshop ? I am trying to slightly desaturate (about -53%) my movie to give it a more gritty look. I could easily get the look I wanted in Photoshpo by going to NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER-->HUE/SATURATION.
Is there a similar approach for Premiere? In the Video effects folder somewhere? Thanks!

Use the "Fast Color Corrector and "Saturation".
