Created a custom button bar and pull-down menus are missing
created a custom button bar and pull-down menus are missing.
I want pull-down menus of 'action', 'edit', 'query', 'block','record', 'field', 'window' and 'help' to display.
What property setting or other item do I need to change?
Thank you for your help.
You could try this, I haven't used it before so I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for but it's worth a shot if you can't get anything else to work.

The entire webpage seems empty and colorless. When I roll over a square or something that is empty, I get the "hand" as if there is something in there that I should click on. All the pull down menus are transparent and hard to read against the background. I tried the same web site on IE and everything is good. It seems as if half of the Browser is loaded. The updates had no affect. My email site is a drab and dreary place that I use the Mac email instead. I remember on my old HP with Firefox it was great. And so was Thunderbird. What can I do??
Thx....DaveWhat happens if you use a theme which changes all the background colours, so that no system colours are used?

The keyboard shortcuts on the pull down menus are grayed out. So I cant use my keyboard to (for instance) open up a new tab. This is the case for all keyboard s
Mine appear in gray, too; I think that's just the style.
Does this problem occur on all pages? (If it only appears on YouTube or other pages with Flash players, it may be related to keystrokes being captured by the plugin.)
A standard diagnostic for possible interference by add-ons is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
If your keyboard shortcuts work correctly, this points to one of your add-ons or custom settings as the problem.

Can anyone tell me how to increase the text size in my menu bar and drop down menus?
Just bought a new 27" screen iMac. The menu bar and drop down menu text is much to small for me to see without leaning close to the screen. Does anyone know how to customize the text to a larger size. This is an issue for any program I open.
Once upon a time Apple displays packed in 72 dots to an inch (making their resolution 72 DPI). That meant that what we saw on screen at 100% scale was exactly what was printed on a printer - not to mention quite comfortable to read. However that advantage was eclipsed by the fact that photopgraphs and video were pixelated and the only solution to that was to increase the resolution - to pack in more dots per inch - which has the side effect of shrinking the size of text. Where I once used Word at 100% scale I now find it most comfortable at 150% scale.
There are several solutions. One, as Lex gave you, was to reduce the resolution of the LCD display. But unlike CRT displays, an LCD is tuned to a specific resolution and when you change it the results tend to be blurry. Another is to keep the resolution as it is and to adjust each program (if the program allows it). This makes Word usable and your browser can be set to use no font smaller than a size you set (which has some unpleasant side affects at some Web sites), but some programs and some parts of programs cannot be changed. The menubar and menus are among them. The third solution is one that Apple promised several years ago but has not yet provided - a resolution independant GUI. We can only hope that comes soon. And there's another partial solution - look in System Preferences under Accessibility. -
I have been trying to add the web addresses in my Fireworks nav bar drop down menus. I can't get them to "take". I add the address, click done and some of them save and some don't. I am pulling my hair out! HELP!
the easiest way is constructing your menu with frame labels
now i have no way of knowing how you are constructing it ..so
this may not work for you ...i assume that you have created a main
button ...that has been converted into a symbol & then
duplicated to create all other buttons
okay here it goes ..i hope i dont confuse you
i will explain how to create 1 button with 4 submenu items
with the trems that i mentioned above
but iam not going to explain all the details of creating a
whole nav bar
because it just takes too much typing ...i assume you already
know this
sooo ! ...lets say this is the Portfoio button ...inside the
symbol now
create 8 layers ...the order is going from top to bottom
actions
labels
submenu Logos
submenu Illustration
submenu Animation
submenu Coolstuff ."you will name your button items how you
like" ...
main button....lets just say Portfolio !
invisible btn for main button
so now on with the hard stuff
create 20 frames ...stop action on frame 1 ...frame 9
...frame 20
on the labels layer now ....name frame1 "Closed" ...frame 10
"Open"
on the submenu Logos layer ...create a keyframe on frame 10
all frames before the 10th frame will be blank frames
repeat that for the rest of the submenu items
on the main button layer you will just place the main
Portfolio button on frame 1
& on the invisible button layer ..the inv btn is going to
be placed on frame 10
all this is iam hoping your have converted everything into1
symbol
all you need to do know is attach code to the main Portfolio
button & the invisible button
so click on the Portfolio button
on (rollOver) {
gotoAndStop("open");
invisible button
on (rollOver){
gotoAndPlay("closed");
& that should be good ...very simple !
then just repeat this process for every button that makes up
your nav bar ....& it doesn't matter if your inv buttons
overlap each other or your main nav buttons are touching each other

Non-stop scrolling in tab bar and drop-down menus
Whenever I put my cursor over the tab bar, it scrolls uncontrollably to the end (scrolling backwards doesn't do anything). I've tried to use the keyboard to navigate, but whenever I press Control, the page zooms out rapidly and it's really tedious to have to keep resetting the zoom.
(This isn't just happening in Firefox - anywhere there's a dropdown menu, if I hover over it or select it it scrolls continuously too.)
But, pages don't scroll down constantly. It's only the tab bar and dropdown menus.
And I've just now discovered that I can't use the Shift key anywhere in Firefox because apparently it makes me go back. I have a feeling that Shift+scrolldown is a shortcut to go back. (I had to write this post in Notepad and copy and paste it in.)
I have one of those cheap Jenkins wireless mice. I've taken the battery out to try and reset it, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I've reset the computer.
It's been doing this since yesterday. I don't want to uninstall Firefox because I don't want to lose all my tabs (in the middle of a major essay and I need to try and keep everything).
EDIT: I tried to use Chrome, and on Chrome pages scroll uncontrollably. This is a real pain because I don't seem to have drivers for my wired mouse anymore and it's really hard to install drivers without a mouse!
EDIT: I hard-reset the PC out of frustration and it seems to have stopped. But I'd like to know how else I could fix this if it happened again.Sounds that this is an issue with your mouse or the mouse driver software.
Did you try another mouse or try a basic mouse driver?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

In Forms 6i, when pull down menus are displayed in the browser, those menus are inside the application online module. In Forms 10g, when the pull down menus are displayed, those menus are on top of the application online module and on the new 'Window' bar line.
Is there a way to have those pull down menus be displayed within the application online module for 10g?Mouse over events are what cause this problem.
Steve Jobs made a point of this exact type of issue in his thoughts on flash letter, when he mentioned the issue about mouse overs not working in flash.
Basically the issue was, that you could touch the item to activate the mouse over, but when your finger raises off the screen to select something the mouse over event is no longer registered, causing the menu to immedietly close.
He failed to mention the fact it also effects any other site made wiht any other language that also uses the mouse over event.
Adobe flash has fixed this issue by converting all mouse over events to mouse down events auto-magically when accessing flash content via a touch screen device.
Unfortunetly, the w3c, ones responsible for web standards have not and will not also make this type of functionailty possible.
This means it is up to the website owner to manually change his mouse over events to mouse down events, when the browser detects a touch screen device. -
How to create a custom Button in a SNP planning book
Hi Experts,
I created my own Planning Book and Dataview in SNP with 3 Key Figures: KF1, KF2, KF3. Now I want to create one my own button with Macro so that when I press that button, the Macro will run to calculate: KF3 = KF1 + KF2.
I know that I can drag this Macro to one of default events like: Default, Level Change, Start. But actually, I want to create my own button so that I can handle the event as I want.
My question are:
1. How to create a custom button on the toolbar of SNP Planning book and writing macro for the button?
2. Please give me any document, material teaching about writing macro and relating to my above scenario.
Thanks very much!

Edited by: xuanduyen on Sep 6, 2011 9:20 AMHi,
Access the transaction "/n/sapapo/advm". In the list select your planning book/ data view and click 'Start Macro Builder' button.
In the Macro builder screen, drag and drop your macro from Macro depot to the work area.
Right click on your macro name and select 'properties'. In the pop up, next to the Assigned Push button field, there is a button 'Choose'. Click that. It will display all the available icons. In standard system, it displays more than 1000 icon. Choose any one icon which is suitable for your macro function. Close the pop up and save the macro. This will assign a push button to your macro.
In the Planning book tool bar, you can see the selected icon in the header tool bar. Just by clicking that icon, you can execute the macro interactively.
And I don't know whether we can include/design our own icon. But there are already 1000+ standard icons to choose.

Making pull down menus and file open dialogs speak
Hi,
I'm trying to create some applications that include speech
assistance for the visually impaired. there are two things that are
causing problems:
1. I can't make the file open dialog boxes speak. I would
like to emulate the behavior of third party screen reader
applications that speak the identites of GUI elements as the user
tabs through them. I am able to do this for custom dialogs made
with the MUI Xtra by putting voiceSpeak commands in the callback
handler so that as each widget gets focus during tabbing, it speaks
its identity. But this doesn't appear to be possible with file open
dialogs created with FileXtra.
2. I have created pull down menus using installMenu. This
works great, but I would like the user to be able to navigate these
menus using the arrow keys, and have each menu item speak as it
navigated to.
If anyone has any ideas about how to accomplish these things
in D11, I would be very grateful.
thanks.It's a 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Void.function openSubMenu(whichSubMenu, currentPosition):Void {

Can iWeb create pull-down menus?
I'd like to have a simple navigation bar across the top, that provides links to my pages, organized into groups. For example, the nav bar says PORTFOLIO, and pressing this button (or better yet, rolling over it) gives the viewer choices like KITCHENS OR EXTERIORS...
Can it be done in iWeb?it won't be easy... but you can build drop down, pull down menus, here is my example (built entirely in iweb):
drop menu
check out with safari and firefox, I'd not made it to be compatible with IE yet (no reasons to)
to do what I'd done, you have to know the following:
1) iweb from the inside out
2) iweb widgets, nav bar is one of those widgets
3) javascript so you can build addition nav bar (beside what iweb built)
4) lastly DOM -
Firefox will not let me use curtain buttons and drop down menus for web sites. i had version 7.01 and upgraded to verson 8.02b and it did it on both of them. and the web pages work find if i use chrome
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
*Firefox 21.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will lose all personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
*(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

Font in Menu Bar and Drop Down list way too small
I just tried PSE 10 and was very surprised to see that Adobe did not address the problem with the font size being way too small in the menu bar and drop down list. I cannot possibly read the font - so the program is basically unusable. I am using a new 17inch laptop. Is it possible that after all the complaints Adobe didn't fix this problem in PSE 10? Are they even working on it? I love the program but unfortunately I am going to have to switch to something else because there is no way I can read the font and thus cannot use the program at all. Very, very disappointing. Hopefully they are working on a fix???
Photoshop CS5 Essential has preferences that offer users the opportunity to adjust menu bar background color as well as font size. For example,
"UI Font Size
If you find that Photoshop's interface text is a little too small for comfort, you can increase its size by changing the UI Font Size option to either Medium or Large. And no, this option isn't just for old folks with poor eye sight. Working on a very high resolution monitor can make Photoshop's interface text appear very small. Personally, I like to set my font size to Large which I find helps to avoid eye strain. You'll need to close and then re-open Photoshop for the change to take effect:
Change the font size to increase some of the text in Photoshop's interface.

Why not Photoshop Elements? ?

I am a new user of i-tunes. Installed the software, upon opening I have no background, just text is written to my desktop. Pull down menus do not disappear.
Frustrated.hi dankb!
hmmm. the last time i saw something like that reported here, it turned out that the copy of DirectX on the PC was out of date. there's a link through to the DirectX download page on this document (although it's about sound issues rather than video issues):
iTunes and QuickTime for Windows: Songs and other audio don't play correctly
... and it's also worth checking to see if your video drivers are up to date. see:
