Creating a customized signature on photos

i am new to Adobe photoshop, and cannot figure out how to create a customized logo/signature to place on all my photos - can anyone help ?

Logos will probably need to be created in PNG format by a pixel-based editor like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements or a drawing program like Illustrator or CorelDraw. Lightroom does not have the capability for this type of Logo creation
Once created you can use the Watermark feature in Lightroom to apply it to all your images on Export/Print/Slideshow/Web versions.

  • Adding custom signature to Mail

I know this has GOT to be easy, but I am totally stumped. I have several email accounts, and have signatures setup for each in preferences for each. My problem is that I just cannot figure out how to have my signature use any other font beside the default font. It is driving my nuts. I've even tried creating it how I want in Pages, and copying/dragging it into the signature, and it keeps changing the font to the default helvetica.
    Any ideas?

In the Signature preferences be sure you have not checked the box to "Match the font ...." Also, be sure you have configured Mail to use Rich Tesxt rather than plain text. This is done in Mail's Composing preferences.
If you still have problems here are two possible solutions. One is to create your custom signature in an HTML editor. A simple editor that would work is Level4 - VersionTracker or MacUpdate. Then paste the resulting HTML code for your signature into the Signature preferences in Mail. The other would be to create your signature in Pages, for example, and output a PDF file. You can then insert the PDF file as your signature.

  • Custom signature in CSM3.0 for IDSM2 with IPS5.1

I am trying to add a custom signature in CSM3.0 for IDSM2 which is running IPS5.1 in cat6500.I am using custom
wizard to create the custom signature ( say "sweep" ).Under sigature, IPS5.x, I could see the created custom signature but when the sigature triggers, IPS event viewer shows only the old ( built in - sweep )signature ID and not the customized one.
Just to test the changes in effect,
I tried to change the event level say "low" to "high" for one of the built in signature( sweep 2100) by editing the same.Display shows the changed level, but when the sigature triggers the IPS event viewer shows the level as "low" instead of "high".
Also I tried with enabling the check box for the option " retire".
How do I create and test the customized signature..I tried with both IDM and CSM3.0.Any suggestions...

The custom headers and client IP and port headers are inserted in every HTTP request packet. Full session headers and decoded client certificate fields are inserted in the first HTTP request packets; only the session ID is inserted in subsequent HTTP requests that use the same session ID. The servers are expected to cache the session or client certificate headers based on the session ID and use the session ID in subsequent requests to get the session and client certificate headers.

  • Signature Feilds not taking info (In custom signature)

    When creating a custom signature
    - there are feilds that will not let you enter info-
then you may not submit your signature- because feilds are missing.
    1. Is Nickname
    2. Email address
    I was under Business signature
    Thank you

My "problem" seems to have solved itself. Very strange. What I did at my first attempt was to clone several custom signatures from a single custom rule in the IDSM. First rule worked in MARS but not the the others, only difference was that the later rules were created as subsignatures and imported into MARS as such. When that didn't work I tried to created the IDS rules as separate rules instead of subsignatures and reimport them into MARS, no luck there either.
I removed my custom signatures from the IDSM and left everything for the weekend. When I returned this Monday and reentered the signatures into the IDSM and tried them out MARS managed to parse them correctly, even put them into the correct event group.
I've no idea what I've done differently but it's all working fine now

  • S492 : Bad Custom Signature ID ... [5577]

    Hi,
I've implemented signature update S492, but apparently there is a problem with the new signature 5577.1 : SMB Secure NULL Login Attempt . During the upgrade process run from our CSM V3.3.1, the deployment manager returns an error :
    instance=sig0:unspecifiedError:Bad Custom Signature ID ... [5577].  Can not create a custom signature with sig-id < 60000
When I verifie on the sensors themselves, this new signature is nowhere to be found.
    Best regards.

Signature# 5577 is a new signature from s492 signature update:
    http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282549755/34252/IPS-sig-S492.readme.txt
Do you happen to have a custom signature with sig# 5577 by any chance?
If you don't, then you might want to open a TAC case as it might be a new bug.

  • Custom Signature Regex

Does the Regex engine used by the IPS support lookahead syntax? I'm working on creating a custom signature using the TCP String engine that I want to fire if it both finds a given string, and does not find a second string. A negative lookahead seemed like the logical way to do this but when I try to use one I get a regex error from the sensor.

** update. sorry, just realized that this is not what you asked. I don't see anything in the docs anyway that refers to lookahead assertions **
yes, well according to the docs anyway. I've never tested though. In my experience, Cisco sometimes just inserts verbatim snippets of text from other documentation into their guides. The MARS docs say [or used to anyway] that they support them as well and they don't. Please let us know if they work for you.

"The following regular expression uses parentheses for recall:
    • a(.)bc(.)\1\2 matches an a followed by any character, followed by bc followed by any character, followed by the first any character again, followed by the second any character again. For example, the regular expression can match aZbcTZT. The software remembers that the first character is Z and the second character is T and then uses Z and T again later in the regular expression."

  • Custom signature- SigName

I have created a custom signature with idsmc 2.01 and during the creation it asked for a name. I entered the name that I wanted to use for the signature but when I received an event for the signature in SecMon, the name that appeared was the default name which is equivalent to the signature engine
    SigName: STRING.TCP <defaulted>
Can some one tell me where you update the name filed on idsmc signature configuration?

I have rebooted the sensor as you indicated but the SigName on the custom signature that I created remain the same. (STRING.TCP)
These are the steps that I followed to create the signature where as follows
    1. I used the management centre for ids sensors version 2.01
    2. I selected the group to which the sensor belongs
    3. I select signature/ IDS 4.x
    4. Under the selection for Select group, you have two choices built-in/custom
    5. I chose custom and then add
    6. I selected the engine string.tcp and gave the signature a name along with its selected reg-expression and other parameters.
    7. I the used the quick deploy on IDSMC to send the custom signature the group of sensors
The signature was deployed with all of the correct values and settings but the SigName was not changed from its default.

  • A method to create completely customized photo book page templates from scratch in Lightroom 5

I was able to successfully create completely customized Lightroom 5 page templates (including altering the number of, positions, and sizes of pictures) by making edits to the templatePages.lua file(s) in the Lightroom directory tree.  I have never heard of the LUA file format before, but it is ASCII and looks somewhat like XML, so it was fairly easy to decipher.  Here is a high-level description of how I did it.  This applies to Lightroom 5 on Windows 7.  If this doesn't make any sense to you, then don't try it - you're likely in over your head.  Although my description is brief and lacking in detail, it should enable someone who is capable of handling this to figure it out with a little of careful trial and error.  Do this at your own risk - if you screw-up your installation, catalog, or computer, it's your own fault.  It all worked great for me.
First, open the "<lightroom 5 install directory>\Templates\Layout Templates" folder.  Then navigate to the template set that contains the template you would like to use as a starting point for the new template.  For example, "12x12-blurb\clean12x12".  Make a back-up copy of the templatePages.lua file in case you mess something up and want to revert.
There will be a bunch of .jpg files in this directory that each contain a preview image of the layout that carries the same name as the .jpg file.  Find the one that you would like to use as a starting point.  Take note of the name of the file, which is probably something similar to "page_26_preview.jpg".   Duplicate the file and rename it to something unique, such as "dummy_preview.jpg".  It's just temporary, so it doesn't matter what name you pick, provided it is a legal file name with no spaces.
Next, open the templatePages.lua file in a text editor.  I suggest using one that can automatically recognize and format ULA (such as Notepad++, which is open source and free to use).  Then search the file for the unique portion of the file name you took note of earlier, such as "page_26".  It will point you to a section in the LUA file that describes that particular template.  Carefully copy that entire section, including a balanced number of brackets (starting with the two brackets and commas before "children" and ending with the one bracket and comma after the "title" line.  Paste the copied text into the end of the file on a new line immediately following the bracket and comma after the "title" field for the last page template section (right near the end of the file).  Change the "previewName" field to the name of the preview file copy that you created ("dummy_preview.jpg" for me) and the "name" field to the name of the new template you're creating ("dummy" for me, since it is just temporary).  Next change at least one of the hex characters in the "pageID" field such that the new template will have a unique page identifier.
Now you can make edits to the photo and text fields included in the new section, using other templates in the template file as examples.  "x" and "y" fields are coordinates (in pixels) for the bottom-left corner of the picture or text field, "height" and "width" are the width of the field in pixels.  The fields should be mostly self-explanatory, but make sure that the "photoindex" fields are filled-in starting from 1 to N, where N is the number of pictures in the template, with no duplicates or gaps.  They do not need to be in order.  Treat the "textIndex" fields similarly for text fields.  If you want to add an additional picture or text field, simply copy the section describing a picture or text field from another template and paste it, carefully, into the new template that you are creating.
Once you are done, save the file (you may get interference from Windows UAC, in which case save the file elsewhere and the move it back to the correct directory).  Then open Lightroom.  Create a new photobook, and choose the new template for one of the pages, remembering that the preview image will look like the JPG that you copied.  Voila!  If you didn't screw anything up, you should see a page based on your new template.  Then right-click the page and select "Save as custom page", which will cause a fresh preview file to be created for your new template and your template to be copied to the "custom pages" section of the template menu.  The new section you added to the "templatePages.lua" and the "dummy" preview file can now be deleted, since they are no longer needed.  I save them so that I may simply overwrite them the next time I need to create a customized template.
Enjoy, and please share any clarifications, corrections, or enhancements to my process.

This post was great!  Thank you so much.  But I am hoping you know one more thing related to this.  In the "transform" section of the definition (where the x/y coordinates are set along with height and width) there is an option called "angle".  I was hoping that changing this value would allow me to offset the angle of the picture.  However, if I put any value there other than 0 the template becomes unusable.
Do you happen to know what this option does?
I haven't looked into the files, so this is just a guess based on how some graphic applications work. It's common to think of rotating a shape as pivoting around a center point, but It's possible that the file sets a value for the rotation point not at the center. In some graphics applications, you can set a shape's pivot at any corner or in the middle of any side, of the rectangle that contains the whole shape.
So, your value may be rotating the shape around a pivot that moves the shape into some area that upsets the behavior of other shapes. Just a thought.

Peter's point is a good one.  I would also assume that the "angle" property allows you to rotate an image, but I haven't tried it myself.  One thing to investigate - are there any page templates included in LR that have image placeholders that are at an angle (I don't recall any, off-hand)?  If so, looking at the associated .lua file could provide insight into how an angled image placeholder should be described.

  • Is it possible to create a custom photo layout when creating a photo book in iphoto?

Is it possible to create a custom photo layout when creating a photobook in iphoto? How about adding text boxes?

    Yes and no
You can not make a custom template nor can you modify one
You can do a page in other software and then print to PDF using the send PDF to iPhoto option and place the resulting image as a full page photo - See Old Toad's tutorial No.19 for more information.

  • How do I create a customer header in photoshop that I can merge numerous individual photos into from Lr?

Let's say I want to use custom text in the top that reads Run for the Community Charity Event and then apply 100 photos individually to give to participants. I think I need to create a customer background layer and save it? I then need to apply all the images separately, but there must be a way to automate the workflow.

Thank you. I know how to do a watermark. I may not have  asked the right question. What I really want is a banner that I could include text, logo, block color or any combination. I think I need to make a background template and drop the photos in. I was hoping for a way to do it as an automated workflow instead of one by one. I've seen photographers do this for running and biking events and have the photos for sale at the end. I'm not looking to be that quick, but want to be able to create a memory image with the event name for a group of people.
Now that I read your post again, your latter comment about a custom watermark in Lr might work if I compose the shots right!
    Thanks!

  • Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time?

Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time? Or even add a "video slide" into the screensaver?
My business has 3 TVs displayed in our lobby, each with its own apple TV and they are all linked to the same photo stream. Currently the Atv screensaver displays the photostream pictures of our products for the default 3 seconds. We just added pics/slides that now display messages and useful info for our customers but I want that info to be displayed for a longer period of time than the pictures to give people a chance to read it.
I tried using flickr and powerpoint as a work around but no luck.  I created a slide in powerpoint with play length of 15 secs and saved it as a wmv file.  I added that file to a "screensaver" set in flickr and pointed the Atv screensaver to that flickr set.  It still displays everything, pics and the wmv file at the default 3 sec.
I know I can increase the duration of all pics in the screensaver to display for longer but the goal is to have the pics display at 3 secs and the info slides to display at 15 secs.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    No that's not possible.
If you have any suggestions that you think might enhance the Apple TV you can send Apple your feedback here

To add to sig's reply, "calibrating" does not calibrate Lithiu-Ion batteries, it calibrates the charge reporting circuitry.  If you look at the effect of deep discharging Lithium-Ion batteries in the data from the independent test group, Battery University, you will see that doing so shortens the life of the battery significantly. It looks like an optimum balance between use and life is at a discharge level of 50%.
