Creating a multiclip sequence, HERE'S A REAL STUMPER for all you Pros...

Ok,
this one is a real doozy. We've tried everything we can think of.
Workflow: Three HDX-900 cameras, jam-synced to clocktime and shooting a sports event at 30p (59.94fps) DVCProHD. Recording onto FireStore-100s and backing up onto DVCProHD tape. Dumping firestore DVCProHD footage directly into FCS2. Everything looks and sounds great. We labeled each angle field in FCP according to the camera (A, B, C). We carefully labelled the reel numbers according to our project (P1031308A0101).
I selected the 3 bins (each bin holds the footage from each camera) and made a multiclip sequence. It was UNABLE to make a 60 minute multiclip with the footage from the three cameras spread out according to their timecode. It kept trying to make about 30 multiclips, few of them with overlapping timecode. a couple of the clips did sync together into a 3 camera segment, but most of them failed to find each other. We played with the overlap slider and all of the settings in the multiclip window, and at various points FCP tried to offer us 4 or even 5 camera angles of footage, all from our three angles, each with its own embedded and (seemingly) functional TC. It would NOT simply do the obvious-- take the free-run timecode and arrange each clip along a linear timeline within that timeframe and multiclip them together to form a three-angle view of the sports event.
Why not?????
Now, one issue we have with this workflow is that the FS-100 drives are unfortunately FAT32, meaning every 2.2 minutes (2 gigs) the FS-100 automatically cuts the footage into 2 gig chunks. but in a regular non-multiclip sequence, this split-up doesn't seem to affect the footage, or timecode at all, and the first frame of the new clip is one TC frame after the last frame of the previous clip, the way it is supposed to. I don't know if this is relevant.
Also, I don't know if this is relevant: We have been shooting in 59.94 fps, 30p, and we have been using the 60@30 method of viewing TC in the viewer and the project settings.
I am thinking that if there was a way to take all my 2.2 minute clips and put them together into a giant master clip (without exporting and losing quality) then my simplified work environment would allow for a working multiclip.
There are three of us in the edit room and we have been trying to multiclip this stuff for hours. We need this solved today. Is there anyone who has an idea? I think we've tried everything obvious. Our computer is a new MacPro with 4gb RAM, capturing onto an eSATA hard drive

I have lots and lots of 2 minute clips. But we finally figured it out. It's a failing of FCP's multiclip feature to recognize segmented files that originated on a FAT32 drive. Basically, you simply can't, as of FCS2, make multiclips from several files that were automatically split into 2gig segments, even if their timecodes were maintained.
So the solution: I took each camera's footage, lots and lots of 2 minute clips, and pasted them together in quicktime pro to make a longer sequence. then i saved a reference file to the long sequence and brought that into FCP. I did the same for the files from the other 2 cameras. Then multiclipped those reference movies.
The newest version of the FireStore firmware has a setting that lets you create a quicktime reference movie from within the firestore that links the segments together. so my workflow for the future involves making these reference movie, bringing only the reference movies into FCP, and multiclipping them. problem solved.
probably 2 people who are reading this understand what i'm talking about; i'm not particularly great at explaining things. but we're back up and running . thanks for reading.

For all you who have problems here is the fix for your phone.

Most of you on here don't understand that 3.x or if you have jailbreak your pass software and set it up from back up you are going to have problems. That can be from drop calls to not having the phone working right.
The 4.0 software has been rewritten completed for the new and old phones. So if you were on 3.x and update to 4.0 then you are bring in a bugs into 4.0. You have to set up as NEW PHONE not from back up. This clean your phone with a fresh software then you add your stuff from your computer. Then you have to go to general and go and reset your network settings. That reset your carrier account with the new 4.0. That because the new 4.0 is now looking to find the tower which has the less people on the tower not which tower is close to you. This way you get a better service and sound of it.
If you still have problems all of you with your iPhone 4 then it a hardware problem. You have to go to the Apple store and replace the phone. Apple will be happy to replace the phone. If not you have 30 days to get your full refund from Apple.
That is it. Nothing hard about it. It's a software problem of a hardware problem. BTW my new iPhone 4 is much better in sound and not having any drop calls than my old 3GS. If you have problems with drop calls is because you are in area which has a week tower which is so busy and can't keep up with the system. That a ATT problem which ATT is working hard to fix it but it can't get the equipment from their supplies fast enough to fix the problem with the network.

I know this sounds like a bit of Voodoo, but it's worth a try. If you've upgraded to the new iPhone 4 and have restored your old software, you may see what appears to be a signal drop-off. Let's stay away from the whole iPhone 4 "death grip" controversy; that aside, no matter what you do, you're not seeing as many bars or getting reception that's as good as what you had with your older iPhone.
Here's something to try. On your iPhone preferences, navigate to "General," and then scroll down to the bottom where it says "Reset." Tap that, and then tap "Reset Network Settings." You'll get a warning, and the phone will reset to factory defaults. You'll likely lose some Wi-Fi passwords, but you may also find that your cellular reception gets a lot better.
I have two friends who tried this, and they went from one or two bars to four or five at the same locations. This is the same trick they are doing at the Genius Bar, and my research shows that it can help in many (but not all) cases. We've talked about this fix before, but we have a lot of new readers, and some old ones, who may have missed it. There are also some discussions about this on the Apple support board. If you have seen a drop-off in reception, it's certainly worth a try. If it doesn't work, we're sorry. If it does, well, the price is right for the fix. Apple support says after your battery will no longer take a change it will start to do this. I have had two batteries do this. The strange thing is the battery did not look like this on friday but it keep expanding even though I took it out of the laptop. I am waiting to see how big it gets.

Bummer! When the recall was in effect, they considered the swelling and distortion to be the sign of a defective battery. On that theory, some people have been able to get free replacements, but evidently not you. I guess it's just the luck of the draw on whether you get an Apple guy who thinks it should be replaced at no cost to you or one that doesn't.

Exporting multiclip sequence

How do I export a multiclip sequence?
When I select the sequence and go to Export a message tells me I have no media.
But of course I do.
Where is it?
Just want to export an uncompressed 1 minute sequence.
Can't find pertinent instructions in the manual.

Are you trying to export a Multiclip, or a multiclip sequence? A multiclip sequence should export just like a standard sequence.
Perhaps if you could provide a bit more detail on exactly what it is you are trying to do here. What format are your source clips? Have you created a multiclip sequence? How many clips are in this multiclip? How are you attempting to export? Plus any other details regarding your workflow. Without details, we can only guess.

Sequence error when creating a multiclip, help!!

I have a bunch of clips I select and try to build a multiclip sequence with from 2 cameras with synced timecode, and after I click to build the multiclip sequence and go through the settings, I get an error that says:
Sequence Error: Unable to add clip to sequence. Possible media limits problem in clip or sequence.
this happens if I select 20 clips or 2 clips. Anyne have any suggestions? FYI, I am editing in native hdv.

There has to be enough overlap between clips, I think 36% or so. Could that be a problem.

Multiple Audio Tracks for Multiclip Sequence

Hello,
I apologize if this answer is in the manual. I've been through it numerous times but can't find the solution. I have two long clips that I want to use multi-angle editing with. I have one audio monotrack on the first clip and two diff. and seperate audio tracks on the second clip (Left track is from one mic, Right is from another mic).
I want to set up a multiclip sequence so that there are 3 or 4 audio tracks below the single combined multiclip video track. I then want to edit in real time making cuts to the video and simultaneously cut all three (or 4) audio tracks at the same time. I know how to do this last thing but I don't know how to create the sequence with 3 or 4 audio tracks.
Any help would make my Sunday productive.

Tiger (10.4.8) hard crashes, "create default account" sequence on reboot!

A couple of apps suddenly began to misbehave yesterday afternoon on a Mac OS X 10.4.8 (500 MHz DP G4) that has been rock-solid for months. I quit everything and ran a Disk Utility "Verify" check -- that crashed in the middle of the run. (Never saw that before.)
On rebooting, my Mac now jumps directly into the "Welcome to Macintosh" login sequence you see the first time a computer is booted, the screens you use to set up the default account on a fresh-out-of-the-box computer. But this one has three accounts already created, with 30 GB of data...
Fearing for the worst, I rebooted with a 10.4 install disk and ran Disk Utility from that. It correctly identified the old partition -- which seems to be full of data -- and announced that everything on the disk is OK (i.e., it "verified"). But every time I reboot the machine, I get the initial login sequence.
I need the data that was on this machine badly. Can anyone here suggest a course of action that may resurrect my old data?
Will going through the login sequence and creating a new admin account wipe out existing accounts? Is there some way to bypass the login sequence and get directly to the previously-created accounts, from which I might fiddle with something to set things right?

I've looked things over, and I think I understand the basics of what I have to do to get my data back in usable form. Let me summarize what has happened thus far and what I think I might do next:
- the result of the crash was that my old "Users/tharpold" folder was no longer recognized as a user folder; in fact, my computer recognized no users at all, requiring me to create a new user account
- I've done this, creating a user named "terryharpold", with admin privileges. That account appears to be behaving as it should, though many apps request serial numbers, etc.
Here's what I think I want to do now:
- I want to create another user, named "tharpold" (my former user name), after having renamed the old Users/tharpold folder (remember, no longer a true user directory) to Users/tharpold-old.
- I want to migrate my former "tharpold" documents and, as important, my app preferences, etc. (most of which are stored in tharpold/Library) from "tharpold-old" to the new "tharpold" user's subdirectories, thus reconstituting my former tharpold identity (Mail files, prefs, documents, etc.) in the newly-created tharpold.
- I should, I think, be able to copy the contents of my former tharpold/Documents folder to my new tharpold/Documents folder, after resetting ownership of its contents to the new tharpold account...
Here's the real question: can I copy the contents of my former tharpold/Library folder to my new tharpold/Library folder in this way? That would, if possible, retrieve my app prefs, Application Support files, Mail files, etc. But should I expect them all to copy over cleanly -- i.e., so as to be usable when I next reboot into the new tharpold account?

Is there a way to view all cameras in the timeline at once without creating a multicam sequence?

Is there a way to view all cameras in the timeline at once without creating a multicam sequence? Is there some kind of window I can open where they will show up? I am scrubbing a timeline and I would like to see all the cameras at once.

The multicam monitor only shows multiple clips at once when they are part of a mutlicam sequence. is there some reason you don't want to use them inside a multicam sequence for previewing?
Here is a possible workaround, if your workflow circumstances will permit it:
Apply a pip preset effect to each clip in the timeline. Use UL, UR, LL, LR presets and up to four video tracks will display at once. If you need to see more than that, you'll need to tweak their position parameters by hand. When you're done previewing them all at once you just need to delete their effects from the Effects Controls panel.
I know it's not that neat or quick, but it will let you see everything at once in the program monitor.

Premiere Pro CC (2014) Crashes if I try and locate footage/scrub/create a blank sequence, please help

Hello, this is my first time asking for help on here, I've been going round the forums and web in general for hours and can't seem to find a solution to this. I really hope someone can help me sort this.
Every time I try and open a project in Pr CC 2014 on my Mac Pro I get the "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will try and save your current project."
People usually ask for as much detail as possible, so to that end: This is a project that I started on my MacBook Pro Retina, so when opening on my desktop it prompts me to locate the footage. Once I find the first file, as soon as my mouse moves over the clip (at the point that scrubbing would be evoked) I get the warning and it shuts down. I tried to open a blank new project, which does not shut down, until I go to import the footage and again, it only crashes when the mouse moves of the clip to scrub. I tried locating the footage in the finder to sidestep the Media Browser, and that allowed me to select the clip, but crashes once I tried to import it. I thought it may be the footage was corrupted, so I tried other clips with the same result. It also crashes if I just try to create a new sequence, with no footage at all in the project.
All my other Adobe apps (AME, Pl, Ae, Br, Ai, Ps, Lr, Id, Mu) are working fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Pr and AME twice now. I have followed the advice of other posts and renamed/reset/deleted the preferences, plugins in the Library, and adobe folder in users/username/Documents. I have ensured that I have read/write access in all folders. I am running Yosemite on my desktop, but so is my laptop and Pr is running flawlessly on that. I never had this problem with Pr CC pre 2014, so I'm hoping it's not a hardware issue.
I've also tried turning it off and on again!
I have reached the end of my tether and consider myself well and truly defeated by this problem. I really hope that someone out there can figure what on earth is going on!

Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Update any GPU drivers
Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
Delete media cache
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
Disable App Nap
Reboot
Report back if anything here worked for you.

Trouble with creating an image sequence in QT Pro 7.4.

I'm having trouble creating an image sequence in QT Pro 7.4(Windows XP). I have a folder containing a JPEG sequence (alternative a PICT-Image sequenz). I Open image sequence, choose the image-frequency and choose the first image, but QT created only the first image in a self-contained movie. But, the same images with the same procedure with QT Pro 7.2 on another Windows XP- PC created a correctly self-contained movie. Is this a bug in QT Pro 7.4?
Please help me and apologize for my bad english!

You have to revert to an older version of QT. After Effects users are having the same issue. Here's a link to a temporary fix (reverting back to older version):

1) I downloaded QT 7.3.1 from the Apple Support Downloads website.
2) I downloaded Pacifist from their webiste
3) I installed Pacifist on my machine
4) I opened the QuickTime DMG file and drug the PKG file out of it
5) I launched Pacifist and dragged the QuickTime 7.3.1 PKG file onto the Pacifist window.
6) I clicked on "Contents of QuickTime531_Leopard.pkg" to select it in Pacifist
7) I choose "Install" from the Pacifist menu at the top of the window
It started installing and I chose "Replace" when ever it prompted me. You can actually click a little check box that says "Don't Keep Asking Me This" and then you don't have to click "Replace" a 1000 times.
9) I restarted my computer (Intel Quad-Core 3 Ghz) went to System Preferences>QuickTime and checked that I was now actually running QT 7.3. YES!!!

I have found the solution for this problem :) To create a seqeunce goes to sequences in project explorer ---> new sequences ---> give name and bla bla bla --> right click on to created sequence and choose confiugre. Here you can under sequence parameter configure things as Increment By and Start with But how goes it into expression builder of a sequence?

but 3010,3020 and 3030 operationwise shop list to be released at one time becuse they all are parallel operations.
after 3010,3020 and 3030 operations 3040 is a sequencial operation.

i think you are looking at an option were in you can confirm or do goods Issue for the order. If that was the requirement, then the control is in customizing transaction "OPK4".
Here in this transaction you need to define "operation sequence is not checked" for the plant/order type combination.

FCP will not let me create a new sequence

I have been working on a doco project with many multicam clips, single angle clips, all in prores 422 1920x1080 30p, except a couple of clips that are NTSC DV. Anyway, all was well, and I ended up with a number of sequences (~10) with 5 that are what I am calling final. I sent my first sequence to color, and did my cc, and then sent back to FCP. All was fine, except the sequence does not make it back to FCP. In trying to sort it out, I also find that I am no longer able to create a new sequence at all. I can create a new project and copy sequences from one to another, but even in that new project, i can not create a new sequence. I can click it, but nothing happens. If I close the original project, and start with a blank project, then I can create new sequences there.
So, the next thing I tried was to create a blank project, copy one of my final sequences (5 minutes long) from the orginal to the new project. Then I closed the original and sent to Color from there. I can then send back from color, I get my new sequence, but all of the multiclip media is now off line, and I can not locate it because after returning from color, the clips have strange names.
Also- I began getting the odd error 34 when opening this project recently. So I suspect something is corrupt, but am unable to find it. I have to deliver on this one at the end of the week and am beginning to sweat. Any ideas are apprecieated!

How about opening the original project that you SENT TO COLOR from? That is what I do. I haven't tried a new project.

Make Multiclip Sequence glitch in final cut pro 7?

Hi, I'm trying to sync two cameras and audio, all with the appropriate timecodes.
Within final cut pro 7, i select all of my video clips and audio I want to sync, right-click and hit "make multiclip sequence," and the appropriate menu even pops up with the matched up files by their respective timecodes, but often when i create the sequence it will be blank, or contain just random clips of audio towards the end. does anyone know why this happens? very frustrating because it works great sometimes, but frequently i get a blank sequence and end up using plural eyes.
xdcam footage
compressor is xdcam ex 1080p24, files are from an f3 camera that i rewrapped in xdcam transfer before bringing into fcp 7.

Thanks Michael, the problem is definitely the audio (syncing the two video clips by themselves works, it creates a new synced sequence), but I edited the audio in a new sequence and exported it, and when i tried to sync it it didn't work.
the frustrating part is that when i select just the audio and the two video clips (that have audio), the multiclip menu pops up syncing them (so close!) , but when i create a new sequence it's blank! even more frustrating is that this process used to work and no longer does.

Missing create MDT task sequence

I have been put in charge of the imaging/task sequence creating of SCCM for my company. I had the sysadmin here set up the MDT integration with SCCM but i still don't see a "Create MDT Task Sequence" in the sccm console. If he logs into the server
he can see it, but if him or i do it through the admin console there is nothing.

You need to install MDT locally on the same system as the console you are using and then integrate MDT with your console as these options are local console extensions. Make sure you run the integrate task elevated also.
