Embarassing Mistake in this Video. Has anybody from Adobe watched and cleared this? How in the World Couleur this Guy become adobe Certified whatever.
For neutral grey you'd use the k value only.
In RGB a neutral grey is Set with Same amount of r,g and be.
Depending on your profiles and on the colours, a neutral gray in CMYK Would have more Cyan than Magenta and yellow.
Just Take a neutral grey in RGB and let Photoshop change it to CMYK. And have a Look at the Result.

Is your Epson printer on Apple's list of AirPrint capable printers? See <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356>.
If it is an AirPrint printer, then your WiFi router may not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint. Contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update, that will make it work.
One other possibility is that there could be a print job stuck in the iPad's print queue. Double click the iPad's Home button and a row of recent Apps will appear along the bottom of the screen. Scroll across and see if the Print Center is there.

I cannot get into Settings! It keeps reading out Slide to Unlock when I try to slide teh arrow to open the fpur digit entry boxes.

How to convert CMYK files to K only (C=0 M=0 Y=0) for print, PDF and JPGE

I have a Jpeg image in grayscale and I need to print it in K only (while CMY=0) instead of CMYK. I have tried with channel mixed presets and even though the info on screen is now C=0, M=0, Y=0 and K= various values, when I send it to print. The printer still prints with all the CMYK colours so instead of a clean monochrome colour I get yellows reds and blues.
Any advice would be so much appreciated!

Thank you for your email. My non-human printer is a cannon CLC 5151 and the funny thing is that it does print in black sometimes.
I have a psd document with C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=various which I have created with the channel mixer presets. - I sent it to print and = 4 coloured grey result
I open an indesign document and place this very same file (plus others with the same presets with which I create my composition) - I send it to print and = black only
Then, I say great it's printing on black so now I just need to export this composition as a JPEG
So I export it and when I send to print = 4 coloured grey
The is when I realise that the C=0 M=0 Y=0 and various K pressets I originally created have been lost again on this JPEG.
I come back to indesign and export a PDF and I find that my original presets to black only are now divided into CMYK colour again.
Perhaps the channel mixer presets are only a guide and they are not preserved when I import the document anywhere else, but I wonder How come this psd document prints in 4 colured grey despite what you can see on the info?
I have tried to paste the image into the black channel of a new document but I can't save it as a JPGE nor I can place onto an indesign either because it doesn't recognize the colour mode.
I agree with you in that it's nicer to get a greyscale with 4 colour ink but only if the printer is properly calibrated and ours isn't at all. and I need to present both indesign and JPEG prints and they should be looking the same.

Adobe Reader 10.1.2 on my mac, can't print pdfs, and the patch doesn't seem to help. What do I do???

I downloaded AdobeReader 10.1.2 and I can read pdfs just fine. But I can no print them and it's FRUSTRATING. I came to this forum and followed the instructions for downloading the AdobeReaderPatch. I tried it but it didn't help. Is it just for PCs? What do I do to print my PDFs???

Yes, you can print the response in a PDF by following the steps suggested below.
1) Go to the response file
2) Select the response you want to print
3) Click on Save as PDF button and it would save the selected response in PDF format.

I am exporting from InDesign to a PDF and the page is larger in the PDF then others I have exported. Is this because of the PDF presents? One of the project managers is not able to print it out on 8.5 x 11 paper, but the document presets for InDesign are the same as before. I wish I could upload the PDFs to show, but the newly exported PDF is larger than the version I created a month ago. I created a PDF binder and the newly updated PDF is almost a .5 inch wider with the same export presets. Any thoughts?

I suspect the project manager simply has his/her copy of Reader/Acrobat set to print at actual size, rather than "Fit" (assuming the InDesign page size is truly 8.5 x 11).

It would have nothing to do with export presets. How are you determining that half-inch difference?

Indesign CS4 - Issues with .PDF and .ps

I have just done a clean install of my system (MacBook pro) with Snow Leopard and have now installed Adobe Creative Suite 4. I am trying to output a PDF and a .ps file for a document I have created that contains spreads.
InDesign print PDF
There are three ways to print a PDF, as attached Print PDF 1,2,3:
Image Print PDF_1: The 'Save as PDF' produces a pdf that can't be opened and gives an error message that it's not a supported file type.
Image Print PDF_2: The 'File > Export' option works and the spreads appear to be fine
Image Print PDF_3: When I try and print to a PDF using the 'Printer: Adobe PDF 8.0' printer the print dialog box allows me to choose the option however when the job spools it just disappears - it doesnt ask me where to save the PDF and the PDF never comes to fruition. I have read on forums this is a known issue with Snow Leopard.

When I go to print a postscript file I get no page preview or access to setup options to change paper size etc. Even if I select 'spreads', after I have run it through distiller it seems to have ignored the spreads, or else has not adjusted the page setup appropriately, and just an A4 page comes out.

Is there another way to create a .ps file?

What's the benefits of Indesign CC over Indesign CS3 for print design? I'd like to know the advantages and features – all those I read about are to do with EPUB, collaborative working, teams or digital designs, and those don't reflect my work.

Very important is the span column paragraph property which allows to span several columns in a text frame or to split a column in several sub columns.
Very important is the tag feature, which is also important for creating PDFs with unlimited access.
A lot of problems with footnotes and page layout have been solved due to a better text engine. Up to CS5.5 it could happen that a footnote could force a page be empty when a document was opened.
With CS5 rounded frame corners which are editable were introduced.
Object Styles have been completed since CS3.
Content tools to create linked content were introduced. You need only to change the original content (text or image) and all linked content will be updated as any other link. The linked content can be in the same and in any other document.
Since CS5.5 it is much easier to anchor frames in a text flow with the little at the top of a frame symbol.

I am creating an InDesign doc from a PDF template. How exactly do I go about getting the pdf template into InDesign? I don't know if I chose
the correct option, but I created my doc in InDesign and then placed the pdf template into the doc? Is this correct? If not, any advice would be very helpful!

Actually, I'm not quite sure, from your description, what you're trying to do. If someone gave me an English PDF and told me to recreate it it into an InDesign document, I'd start by doing exactly what you did - I'd place it in InDesign. So, now the PDF is in InDesign, as an image that you can't edit. This is really helpful if you have to recreate a PDF perfectly in InDesign - you can know exactly where everything is, and place each new bit exactly where it is in the PDF.
If someone is expecting you to add stuff to that PDF template, you can place it on top of the PDF in InDesign.
If someone is expecting you to manipulate, change, revise, or otherwise actually touch the objects in the PDF template, they don't know what they're doing - PDF is a storage format, and it's not really easy (or even reliably possible) to edit things in PDFs.
Does that make any sense? Please ask some more questions if this isn't clear.

The iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality.

With a new account, you'll need to rebuy the games.
Each user should have their own icloud account, otherwise they end up getting the same emails, contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc. - usually not what you want. But if all have been sharing the same itunes ID, keep it that way, you can have different IDs for itunes and icloud.
If you already have another icloud account, and want to set it up on a device, then go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. This only disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost on icloud. Then enter the account ID that you want to use.
