Creating dynamic endpoint for synchronous partner link. SOA 11g

I am on page 522 of the Developer's Guide and have hit a dead end.
1) There is no such thing as a "Transformation" activity.
2) If I assume they meant "Transform" I am still stuck because you can't use a wsdl as input
3) What is a "copy rule?" I thought that meant Assign, but the Assign dialog looks NOTHING like their screen shot.
I get the CONCEPT 100% but the actual implementation is a complete mystery because this book is fatally flawed.

Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 Developer's Guide
Of more importance to me than sorting out the book is sorting out the issue. I have two partner links I want to be able to set runtime endpoints for. I also want this to be done based on which deployment server the composites are on, but I can cross that bridge later.
One of the partner links is an HTTP Adapter and the other a WS Adapter.
I imported the WS-address schema and created en endpoint reference variable but then I get stuck. How to I use this to change the endpoint of the partner link? The developer's guide says "use a Transformation" which I am guessing means and Oracle Transform (thing that makes xlst style sheets) but Transform only accepts variables as input and output and the guide screenshot is showing wsdls being used.
Also -- looking at "The BPEL Cookbook" (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/carey-090553.html) I get imediately lost because only partial examples are shown and repeated references are made to this "DynamicPartnerLink Sample" which I can find umpteen million references to but no source for.
OK.. found the source for the referenced wsdl .. and it has nothing I didn't already have.
I am using jDeveloper... I think the cookbook is referring to some other editor. I needs instructions I can follow in jDeveloper because my employer is requiring we use that.

Here you can find property value for oracle.webservices.auth.username,oracle.webservices.auth.password & oracle.webservices.httpReadTimeout are static , What i want to make here is to read these from a bpel variable in runtime.

Is there any means i can do this same basic authentication in BPEL 11g which would support dynamic credentials.

Service Registry's Dynamic Lookup of BPEL Partner Link not working

Software : SOA 10.1.3.1
OS : Windows XP, 2000
I have deployed webservice application (GetMaxOfTwo) which will give me max of 2 values. Registered the WS in OWSM with user authentication. Registered newly generated WSDL in OSR (Oracle Service Registry). A simple BPEL Process will call service as PartnerLink, which is configured as "Enabling Dynamic Lookup of BPEL Partner Link Endpoints". As mentioned in the document made entry in bpel.xml as registryServiceKey property containing the serviceKey value to the partnerLinkBinding section.
The entire scenario is working fine and changed the servicekey value to wrong value in bpel.xml and redeployed, as expected it was giving me error message saying invalid servicekey.
Now deployed GetMaxOfTwo in another application server and registered in OWSM. Intentionally stopped the first GetMaxOfTwo application. In the OSR Service changed the binding with new WSDL of OWSM. As BPEL process enabled with dynamic lookup it should execute without any error. But the results in this case was giving error saying the service was down. (Means it is referring to the old GetMaxOfTwo webservice.
What could be the reason?, something is missing in the configuration?

I am having trouble making the BPEL and Systinet to work together. I have Systinet and BPEL installed separately on 2 different servers. I deployed my web services and registered them in UDDI. I created a new BPEL process and added a partner link to refer to one of the web service I have registered in UDDI. When I create the partner link, it is forcing me to give the wsdl and it also gives an error message " There are no partner link types defined in current wsdl. Do you want create that will by default create partner link type for you?". If I say "NO' then deployment fails. If I say "Yes", then it creates a new wsdl file on the local server etc and gives "<Faulthttp://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/>

Exchange 2010 SP3 Create Dynamic DL for Direct Reports

I am not sure this is possible but if there is a will there is a way I guess.
System: Exchange 2010 SP3 on Windows Server 2008 R2
I am trying to see if there is a way to create dynamic DLs for Manager(s) direct reports.
Example: Manager has 5 people that report directly to them, is there a way to make an dynamic email distribution list that will poll the direct reports as people leave or hired.
I know I can create one manually but some depts. may have high turnover rates which increase overhead so I am just trying to simplify the process. I of course googled my question but not getting the results I intended.

Dynamic Partner link in 11g-urgent pls

I've a requirement to use partner link dynamically. I configured a DBAdapter which connects to a DB called 'DB1'. During run time, my payload has systemID based on the systemID I have to insert the doc to a table in appropriate DB. Note that the no.of DB is unknown. There may be 2 or 3 or more than 3 DB's would exist. How do I achieve it in fusion 11g? Any pointers would be grateful.

Create Dynamic variant for date field

Hello all,
I need to have the current month year displayed in my selection screen in format MM.YYYY and the field is of type SPMON (Period to analyze - month).
and while saving the variant it is showing only 'T' (entries from TVARVC table) in "selection variable" field and not showing 'D' (Dynamic selection) for the above field.

Creating several roles for one partner

Hi everyone !
I have created a partner with a role (=employee) . Then I wanted to create a second different role ( = physical person) for that same partner, but when I try to save the role in BP, I get an error message ;
the message is "Enter at least one tax number for the business partner"
Normally there is no tax number requirements for physical persons, only for organizations, so I don't understand where that message comes from. Is it due to the fact that I tried to create 2 roles for the same partner?
Any helpful hints on this will be rewarded !

Its definitely not because of 2 roles . You can assign as may roles. This message is because in the customzing there must be some setting for physical person role.
You can get rid of this by follwoing steps
go to transaction spro
Cross application components->sap business partner -> business partner ->field grouping -> configure field grouping per role. Double click on the role Physical person. Double click on dataset BUTC01. On the right side choose the radio button hide or optional. Now the message will not come.

Not directly. But why would you? Don't you see a pattern in the generated ID's? Did you check the generated HTML output? If this problem is Javascript related, are you familiar with the 'this' reference?

Create dynamic ID for component / component names in portlet

I developed a JSF and IBM Portal API based portlet which runs on Websphere Portal Server 5.0.2.2. Everything's fine, if I have just one instance of my portlet on the page. If I have more than one, problems arise...
This is due to the component IDs which are the same for each portlet instance. I blame IBMs Gerneric faces portlet for this behavoir, but this doesn't solve my problem ;-)
So I need to create unique IDs for the components for each portlet instance on a page - which means at runtime.
I thought of a custom component which is generates a unique random ID. The final structure of a page (or JSF component tree) with multiple instances of my portlet should look like this

Because there's no real servlet or portlet-code which can be altered, the points to interfere are quite limited. As mentioned above, all general request handling and forwarding to JSPs is handled by the "generic faces portlet"...
The first point where my own code could be executed is in a custom component on the JSP or the "onPageLoad"-Event of hx:scriptcollector (which is an IBM extension to the standard JSF components).
Have you any suggestions or best practices how to solve this problem?

Partner Link in 11g

In jDeveloper 11g, i use a base process which inturn calls the subprocess.
I am calling a partner link whose procss updates a DB. but in the Composite.xml of the base process, when i add the webservice and specify the wsdl file of the called process in the partner link config window, i get the following message:
Invalid WSDL
A WSDL must have concrete bindings to be used for an external reference.
myfile.wsdl does not have a concrete binding..
i also see that in the called process WSDL file there is no Binding tag at all. since i use the process as an external reference i need to have the Binding Tag automatically generated.
I referred to a tutorial for jDev 11g. in the example, their wsdl file had the Binding Tag automatically generated.
Any suggestions will be helpful..

I am able to solve the issue with the 'Concrete Binding' in the WSDL.
Apparently, in the 'Design' view of the WSDL file, u need to create a new binding and later drag the new binding to the ' add services' pallet, save the WSDL file.
but now, am having problems while deploying the project.
during deployment, i get the message saying -------

Modifying Memory Optimization parameter for BPEL process in SOA 11g

I have turned on memory optimization parameter for my BPEL process in the composite.xml (11g)
this is what I have in composite.xml:

How do we modify this parameter in the EM console at runtime? I changed this property to "true" using the System MBean browser, but it wasn't taking effect. I thought the SOA server must be restarted (similar to what we used to do in 10g). But when I restart the SOA server, the parameter goes back to whatever the value was in the composite.xml ignoring the change I made in the System MBean browser
Please share your thoughts.

Deploying a newer version is not an option, as the endpoints could change (not sure if it would in 11g, but in 10g it does) and also, our service consumers will be pointing to the older version.As mentioned above, if clients are using URL without version then call will be forwarded to default version of composite internally. No manual tweaking required for this. Just make sure that while deploying the new version you are marking it as default.
Besides, we report on service metrics and having multiple versions just complicates things.Not at all. If you are not using versioning feature, you are really under utilizing the Oracle SOA 11g. Remember that metrics can be collected for a single composite with same effort, irrespective of the number of composite versions deployed. Only few product tables refer the version while storing composite name and rest all use only the composite name without version. I do not know how you are collecting service metrics but we use DB jobs for same it works perfectly with any number of composites having multiple versions deployed.
The idea is to do some debugging and collect audit trail in case there is a production issue by disabling inMemoryOptimization parameter. This is a live production environment and deploying whenever we want is not even an option for us, unfortunately. Why not debug by increasing log level. Diagnostic logs are the best option to debug an issue even in production. For getting audit trail you may re-produce the issue in lower environments. I think no organization will allow re-deployments just for debugging some issue in production until and unless it is too critical issue to handle.
Does this not supported in 11g? if it isn't, it does seem like a bug to me. You may always go ahead and raise a case with support.

Hi Kiran,
In these scenario generally runtime faults occurs so you can use the CatchAll activity and rethrow activity to complete the instance in error state. Also before the completion of the process if exception occurs you can rollback all the transaction.

Generating wsdl for the adapters in soa 11g

how can we generate a wsdl only for the adapter that we use in soa 11g??
for eg.. my scenario is frm the previous posts it was said that we need to generate the wsdl for the adapter and should import it in OSB for proxy services...
(so this is interacting/ using adapters in osb)

How create dynamic URL for every row shown in the report?

Hi,
Iam new to this Application. I created one interactive report to find the number of bugs logged for every product and its sub component for past one year. The report will look like below structure in the application.
Product Subcomponent Total
P1 S1 10
P2 S2 4
P2 S21 15
Now i want to pick the value of Prouct and sub component for every row dynamiaclly and want to generate the URL with the conditions and make it as hyperlink for the Total Column.
Iam able to make hyperlink for the Total column using the edit options for the total attribute, but it is opening the same page for all the rows in the total column. I want to generate dynamic URL by picking the value prodcut and sub componenet dynamically from the report for every row and want to make it as hayperlink for every row individually.
Please tell me how to do this?

So you already set the Column Link attributes for your Total column. Should all links go to the same page, but with different parameters (ProductID, SubcompID)? Or to another page? And how can you determine that page?
Assuming you'll go to a sort of detail page or form:
Target = [Page in this app]
Page = <your target page no>
Item1 = <ProductID field in target page>
Value = #PRODUCTID#
Item2 = <SubcompID field in target page>
Value = #SUNCOMPID#
(you can use the ' flashlight' for getting the correct values)
