Creating new Positions using RH_CREATE_POSITIONS?

Hi
I tried to use the RFC rh_create_positions to create new positions using C#. But
i get an error:"Screen output without connection to user".
Well is there any work around for it or is there any other RFC/BAPI i can use to create positions under an org unit.
any suggestions are welcome!!!!!

Yes, the BAPI doesn't create the position ID. You need three tables to be populated for update
1. hr_object_header - one entry for entire update
2. hr_infotype_header - one entry for each infotype record update
3. pd_object - required if you have IT1000 in hr_infotype_header
4. pd_object_relationships - required if you have IT1001 in hr_infotype header
Similarly all other tables need update based on records on hr_infotype_header.

It is mandatory to give the org unit to which the position is being associated with.
Give the org unit and try saving it.

MSS - Creating new Position and Org unit in MSS

Dear Expert,
Question 1: I want to know that is it possible to create a new Position or Org Unit in MSS. I am aware that manager can create a requisitioin for a position. But I am not aware that how HR manager will create the Org Unit or Position thourgh MSS.
- will the HR manager have a new HR administrator Role to do this activity, if yes, which service / iview is used.
Question 2: We are using Management of Global employees (MGE). Now if any employee expariate to a foreign country how does ESS/MSS will pick the new country assignment. Is there any ess/mss switch for this? or any other configuration

Hello honey - answer to the 1st question.
MSS- click Organisation - Search Organisational Process - enter the Process HR_PD_CREATE_POSITION and click start , this could be one solution how the managers may be able to create new position through MSS.

New position in delivery is a new row on the first screen after enter vl03n. Delivery header is in LIKP (VBELN = delivery number), positions are in LIPS (VBELN, POSNR - position in delivery).

Creating new file using report generation express vi

In my application, I need to write certain data in excel sheet. For that I created an excel template and I used the express vi in report generation toolkit to save the appropriate data in appropritate columns. I need a new file created everyday by that day's name and write the data to it rest of the day. I am having problems creating new file using this express vi. I tried using the low level vi's but not been able to it properly.

The Errors are:

check for the files in ORACLE_HOME/database. You have dropped existing instance and creating service again, move all the files to other folder then create using ORADIM

Language German Position Appear When Create New position (PO13)

I have very odds problem. When I create new position through PO13, pop-up message appear "previous record will be delimited at end. Do you want to save". For example I want to create new position 'Engineer ' starting 01 Feb 2011 through PO13.After I select new button , pop-up message with this record appear.If I choose yes, position with german language appear; for example 'entwickler' and validity period 30.11.1995 to 31.01.2012 with language key German.So this position have 2 object
1) DE 30.11.1995 31.01.2012 entwickler
2) EN 01.02.2012 31.12.9999 engineer
Every time I create new position seem I copy position from german language. How to avoid this error

a) Are you working in the IDES system to create the position ? if yes, there is every possibility of such a thing happening as ther are few standard entries in the SAP IDES system.

Problem in Creating New position in Siebel CRM 7.8 using java program

From the error code, it looks like you have a scripting error in the BusComp_SetFieldValue event on the Position
business component in your application.
Have you tried to look at that code or to turn of scripting for the application as a total?

Unable to create new query using query manager

Hi friends,
I have been trying to create a query using query manager for couple of hours but still not able to.I am following the instructions given in oracle Peopletools 8.52 : Peoplesoft query
Chapter - creating new queries.
Below are the steps I am going through to create new query:
Step - I open the component Reporting Tools-> Query->Query Manager , I don't get the tabbed pages one for search an existing query and another for create new query.

Step 2 - When I click on create new query link, I am redirected to a page where it asks for record name to add in the query. But, even this page is not displayed as how it supposed to be

Step 3 - Following the above step, when I click on Person record to add into my query I am asked to select the fields that I want to display in the output.
But I somehow do not get the proper tabbed pages where individual pages are there to add the attributes to complete the query like adding multiple records, fields, query, expressions, prompt...etc

As I cannot access your screenshot by the blocking of company firewall rules.
I'm guessing currently you are using PT 8.52.00 version, correct?
This should be a bug, that you need to apply the 8.52.0X patch, not sure which patch fix this, you can apply the latest one to solve this issue for no tab page of query manager. (PT 8.52.06)

We are facing a problem while creating a new field using AET.

Im following this blog while creating the new field using AET.
After filling all the field details and trying to create a Transport request its going for a runtime error.
The error is happening in class CL_CRM_GENIL_AXT_API
method get_editable_properties.
data lr_field_ext type ref to cl_genil_field_extension.
field-symbols <axt_field_extension> type gtype_field_extension.
data lr_fieldext_ref type ref to if_axt_field_ext_access.
read table axt_field_extension_tab assigning <axt_field_extension> with key ext_bo       = is_key-ext_bo
                                                                          ext_bo_part = is_key-ext_bo_part
                                                                          extension_id = is_key-extension_id.
lr_field_ext = <axt_field_extension>-axt_extension.
if sy-subrc = 0.
While Debugging we can see that the table axt_field_extension_tab is having zero values during the last execution.
But the Zfield is getting generated and the status is in green.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

the reason that AET does not work is because there is/are missing entries in one of DB table.
Namely the enhance BO assignment to the UI Object Type.
Could you please tell me, what is the UI Object Type in you current IC application.
In order to figure this out, you can put mouse cursor in one of the field in the UI and then press F2.
Then you can go to SM30 in SAP GUI open the View BSPDLCV_OBJ_TYPE and search for the UI object type.
Select the UI object type and see whether any enhanced BO is defined.
In your case it should be empty, otherwise you can use AET in IC.
And if it is empty we need to figure out which enhanced BO is relevant for the given UI Object Type.

Unable to create new services using the R3 replicated service categories

Hi All,
I have the following problem:
We have replicated the services from our R3 system to SRM (as well as the materials).
We also have an external system that will be creating new services and it will reuse the service categories from R3.
When I try to create a service online, I can only select the SRV_ category type. None of the others which do exist in COMM_CATEGORY are available (Like SRV_ALL, SRV_SERV,...). When I try to select them I get an error like:
"Product category SRV_ALL has a different product type to maintained product"
The problem doesn't exist for materials where I can use any of the MAT_* types.
I suspect that the settings in COMM_HIERARCHY transaction might have an impact. I can see that for MAT_ and all MAT_* the attribute product type has been set to "Product". Whereas for services I only see that SRV_ is set to "Service", all the other SRV_* type have no value set. According to SAP Help they would inherit the value from the parent which is SRV_, but perhaps this functionality doesn't fully work?
Now, I would like to get the value the product type attribute set to "service" for all SRV_* type, however in SRM I cannot edit them as the ECC system is the source. Does any one know if I can change some settings for the replication of the service types so that this attribute is set for all my service types during replication? Or any other solution?

Is anyone aware of a way to create a new project template using an existing template? I am testing a few scenarios and want to quickly be able to create a template without setting one up from scratch.
I tried a few ways but could not find a way to do this - you can only create a project using a template, not another template.

I took the cold backup of the database using rman ( Database name TEST)
1.RMAN> startup mount;
2.RMAN> backup database include current controlfile;
3.RMAN> alter database open;
I aim to create the new database called DEMO using this backup

or after cold backup, go to mount ,
create trace file of controlfile becuase you are chaning database name

Create new or use existing info object ? How to decide ?

I enhanced the data source with a field user ID, now I am mapping it in the transfer rules in bw. When I searched in the system (ctrl F in infobjects of RSA1) I could find related info objects but they are currently being used in several places.
Can I use the existing one or do I have to create new info object ? How can I decide this ?

Hi,
it just depends on the content of the 0USERNAME or 0USER_NAME depending on use. Usually these Infoobjects contain the source system user name (login name) for example the entries maintained in SU01 of the SAP R3 system.
If your extractor delivers the same entry, feel free to use it. If it is another kind of username (i.e. external system, database user etc.) it may be usefull to define a new object. But if you define your own ZUSERNAME Infoobject remember to provide loads for the Text and attribute fields (if required). This is for free, if you can use available infoobject which are already maintained by earlier projects.
