Creating PDF tool bar in Autocad Architecture 2009

How do I get the Adobe tool bar and pulldown menus on my Architecture 2009 screen. When we were running ADT 2005 and then loaded Adobe 8 Prof. the pulldown menus and Adobe tool bars appeared on the screen. Now that we have upgraded to Archit. 2009 I cannot get them to show up. I've tried menuload in Archt. but Adobe tool bars are not there, I've done a repair install on Adobe and still no luck. I can create pdfs thru the plot command but the tool bar is so much more convenient. Thank you.

Thank you very much for this link. Architecture 2009 runs on Autocad 2007, which is compatible, but there must be something in Arch. that prevents it because we just cannot get the pdf maker button to appear. Our Autocad support folks don't know either. I don't know why it is so difficult to get an answer to this we can't be the only ones trying to do this.

  • Creating a Tool Bar

I am trying to create a new tool bar.  The "create at tool bar" screen that comes up is so large, I can't click on the "Save" button because its off the bottom of the screen.  It won't move and there aren't any controls to change the size.  I even tried changing my screen resolution.  Any advise?

    Hi Debbie ,
Does the PDF appears so large as well or just the dialog box ?
Please check the page display settings.
Go to edit>Preferences>and check the Resolution and other things.
There is always an option to resize the page or any dialog box by placing the cursor on the edges and then as the it changes to a different icon you can move it is either direction to change the size .

  • PDF tool bar used to open Reader.

the pdf tool bar at the bottom of the screen used to let me open the current screen in Adobe Reader.  after the latest update, it now opens the file in Preview.
is there a way to change this back so that it opens in Reader?

When you have a lot of tabs open, Firefox stops showing the "x" on each tab. I think that was done so you could see more of the title. You still can close a tab by right-clicking it and choosing Close tab, or by pressing Ctrl+w to close it.
Is that the "x" you meant or is it a different one?

  • AutoCAD Architecture 2009

Is anyone using AutoCAD Architecture 2009 in BootCamp on a MacBook Pro?
    Any licensing issues?
What about using BC with VMWare or Parallels?

Yes, my new MacBook Pro has been working great with AutoCAD.
I had only experienced problems when I had tried to access Boot Camp in Mac OS via Parallels or Fusion. In such attempts, my AutoCAD license had needed to be reactivated.
As for Lenovo, you will have nothing but problems. I had used ThinkPads for over 10 years, and I had been an Advisory Member of their product forums for some time.
All Lenovo ThinkPads suffer from poor craftsmanship, off-center screens, cheap plastic, which cracks, keyboard flex, constant wireless disconnections, and excruciating technical support.
I have noted links, with further problems, for you to check out.

NoteBookReview.com has been the biggest, and most credible, supporter of ThinkPads ever! This has been well known in the industry. With the launch of the T500 and W500, they have ended their support for ThinkPads. Read their reviews. They have even said that the MacBook Air is far more durable than any ThinkPad.

  • Autocad Architecture 2009 & PDFMaker 9 Pro

We were running Architecture 2009 and Adobe Pro 8. Turned out 8 was not compatible w/ any autocad 2008 (wouldn't give us the pdfmaker toolbars & pulldown menu). We were told 9 Pro was compatible w/ Autocad 2008 so we just upgraded 9 computers to 9 Pro. Architecture 2009 runs on Autocad 2008. The pulldown & buttons still will not appear and I've just been told by Adobe support that no 9 is not compatible. So if it is compatible w/ Autocad 2008 and that is what we have on the system why won't it work? We can create pdfs thru the plot screen but it is so so slow. Does anyone know about this? Are we in fact dead in the water on this? Thanks very much, this has been exceptionally frustrating.

Install the 9.1 patch - Help>Check for Updates. AutoCAD 2009 support was added in 9.1

  • PDF Tool Bar Not Working in Safari

    Hi all:
I'm running Safari 5.1.3, Lion 10.7.3 on an iMac.
About a month ago (prior to upgrading to the latest OS yesterday), I noticed that on certain web sites, I am unable to save PDFs after they open up in a new Safari browser window.
This happens most often at Chase Bank.
On almost every other site, when I click on a PDF link, it opens in a new windown, and then if I hover my cursor at the bottom, a pop-up tool bar appears that allows me to save the PDF, which I can then view in Preview.
Unfortunately, this feature doesn't seem to work with Chase Bank anymore.
Is it a problem on their end?
    Are there any known solutions?
(I really enjoy having a clean machine, and don't want to install any third-party plug-ins like Adobe Acrobat.)
    Thanks for any help.

It looks to be an issue (one of many) with Chase's website.
Their site opens up statement documents in some sort specialized window that prevents the normal PDF view from initiating.
You can confirm this by choosing File >> Save As... from the Safari menus. You'll see that Safari wants you to save it as a "web archive" which means it is not detecting it as a PDF.
But there is an easy workaround:
If you right-click on the document when it appears, you can choose to open the PDF in a new window/tab, which will bring up the usual PDF controls, or you can choose to save the PDF directly to your Mac.

  • Pdf tool bar in MS Word can not be removed

    Hi,
I have upgraded Acrobat Reader to 6.0 Standard, now I have the "pdfmaker" tool bar in MS Word in addition to the "Adobe pdf" item in the menu bar. When I delete the tool bar, it will appear again when the next word file is started. Deleting it in "normal.dot" did not help either. Any clue would be welcome, as I do not want to waste screen height with redundant information

    Hi Aandi,
My Acrobat is a single copy, aquired trough our IT service provider EDS. The info box accessed via the help button shows the following:

  • Converting a PDF to a word document using the online "create PDF" tool.

So, the title of this message is what I am trying to do.  However, when I do this it acts like it is uploading a file and then nothing ever happens.  I have been waiting hours to see if it was just taking a long time.  Is there a size limit to this service?  My file is 43 MB.

Hi, could you share a screenshot of what your page looks like immediately after you upload a file? It could be that it just is taking a long time to upload. Do you have a high-speed internet connection?
This page shows you how to post a screenshot: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4721586

  • Navigator tool bar in jsp.

i am very new to java. just started, can anyone help me in creating navigator tool bar in jsp. i have created table but i dnt know how to create row in same row.if i close that </tr> i will be in different row and i want to be in same row.if i creat another <td> in same <tr> its not workin.
can anyone help me in navigator tool bar in jsp.
    thanks.

i mean the same what you said. <tr> contains <td>.
what if i want more <td>in same row. i know that we
can do this in html without any problem.
Jsp will work no differently as regards to the table.
my problem is there is a navigator tool bar which
contains 5 rows. in 3rd row i have to add 2 more
rows. but when i am doing that i am creating seprate
rows. it should be in the same 3rd row but in
different line. What? 3rd row but different line makes no sense just add a fourth row.
Maybe you need to look at the span attribute, I can't figure out what else you'd be talking about.

  • Tool Bar too jacked-up for consumer level PDF

Sooner or later 3D interactive will saturate our culture. And Acrobat 3D is a great step, but it is targeted toward engineers and not consumer level marketing.
I want to produce these great PDFs for consumer level product marketing, but the Tool Bar is too feature rich for consumers. The tools are okay, let’s keep them, but the default tool, ROTATE, is just infuriating (not a good thing).
I have been on the creative end of advertising for over 30 years, working with 3D for last ten years, and I do some coding from time to time, so I am not afraid of a challenge. I know this: a picture is worth a thousand words, a moving picture is worth ten thousand words, a 3D interactive needs NO words.
Adobe has taken a giant 3D step with Acrobat, but the company now seems to be pulling away. Broad consumer level acceptance will generate the demand for Acrobat 3D, the engineering market is not big enough by itself. Here is my problem, the TOOL BAR requires an engineering degree, it is far beyond the consumer’s attention span and comprehension. Consumers are not engineers, but they do know how to use a mouse.
So here is my consumer level wish list for Adobe Acrobat 3D:
Remove the TOOL BAR and the RIGHT CLICK SUBMENU entirely from the annotation. When I say "Remove" I want it disabled, and make it not visible on a tool-by-tool basis. Keep the TOOL BAR as part of Acrobat 3D, but I need to manage it for the sake of consumers and my product. I don't want customers seeing it and wondering why they can get a tool to work, or wondering what they are missing because of a grayed-out feature. I want their attention on the product offered in the PDF. (I can NOT do this yet)
Make SPIN the default movement tool and the only tool. (I CAN do this, thanks to this forum and javascript discussions)
I need to restrict the rotation of the SPIN tool from going below the ground plane, and adjust the friction of the SPIN tool, some models move too fast in the environment. (I can NOT do this yet)
The default arrowhead cursor does nothing to promote (set apart, distinguish, or announce) the 3D environment. When a consumer has a cursor over an activated 3D annotation the cursor should communicate that fact. The right cursor for this job is the "move" cursor (looks like the PAN TOOL icon). I need to set the MOVE icon as the default 3D icon (I can NOT do this yet)
Create a 2D layer in front of the 3D scene to place stationary JPGs and TEXT in front of the 3D annotation. This can be useful for placing custom view buttons, ON/OFF buttons, transparency sliders in the scene, or toggling between one or two model render modes or different lighting schemes. (I can NOT do this yet)
As I said before, “remove the RIGHT CLICK SUBMENU entirely” because it is the can of worms as the TOOL BAR. But I do want to be able to customize the RC SUBMENU when a consumer clicks on a part of the 3D model. When they right click, they should get a submenu of features, options, properties that relate to my product offer. (I can NOT do this yet)
And finally, URL connectivity. That RIGHT CLICK SUBMENU has a feature like: make reservation, order this part, add to cart. (I can NOT do this yet)
Now that will accelerate Acrobat 3D. Anybody know how to accomplish these features?
    Greg

    OK, in order:
1 - you can disable the toolbar using the 3D annotation's properties, but you cannot disable the context (right-click) menu or edit the entries. You can add buttons to the toolbar to a very limited extent using JS, and can en/disable tools by name, but can't replace the entire thing and can't affect the other dropdowns (like the lighting or rendering menus)
    2 - easy with JS, as you already know: runtime.setCurrentTool('Spin');
3 - also possible with JS, but complex to implement as you have to re-write the camera handling functions and do some polar geometry math. There are some examples from Directlight which use a ground-collision script for architectural renders inside a "sky bubble", but the script they use is copyrighted.
4 - we don't give any access to the cursor icons, period.
5 - You can do this in several ways; either with a watermark layer on the PDF, or using a SWF embedded in the 3D scene and some JS to load the SWF as a "scene foreground object". I've covered a lot of this on the Acrobatusers.com tutorials, but will be talking more about it in upcoming shows.
    6 - see q1
7 - very commonly-done using JS, and probably the main thing scripts in 3D PDFs are used for. There are "3D order form" examples all over the Web, which use a script to override the default selection handler in the 3D scene, check the name of the mesh node being clicked, and then fire something out to the PDF (such as filling in a form field, opening a document, etc.) - suggest you grab one and poke about inside, as the handlers are all pretty much the same.
It's important to note that the display of a 3D annot is handled by a plugin shipped with Acrobat and Adobe Reader, and this plugin decides what toolbars, menus, etc. appear. Because plugins don't generally expose themselves to each other, you couldn't override the default 3D toolbar even if you wrote a "plugin plugin", and there are no plans to change the customization options (or lack thereof). I agree with you that some of the tools and context items are a little obscure for Joe Public, but they were indeed designed for use by engineers! 3D PDF came about so CAD/CAM data could be exchanged and reviewed, so it was realistic to expect people opening the files were savvy in how to work with 3D models. They've grown to be more public-facing, but even today the vast majority of 3D PDFs are passed from one engineer to another, who both probably use a Space Pilot instead of the toolbar commands.

    It will work now.
    3. Moreover, I_SAVE has 3 options.

    Layouts cannot be saved.
    I_SAVE = 'U'
Only user-defined layouts can be saved.
    I_SAVE = 'X'

  • I have a Macbook Pro (2009) and the tool bar in Safari keeps disappearing. There's a small diagonal arrow on the upper right that I can click and the bar will appear temporarily, but then it disappears from view. "Hide Toolbar" is greyed out in VIEW

My 2009 Macbook Pro's Safari doesn't show the tool bar anymore.  I can click on a diagonal arrow in the upper right corner that appears when I put my cursor there and the tool bar will show, but then it disappears again.  Also, when I get an email and click on an internet link the Safari doesn't open full page like it used to - it opens as a small little box and I have to click the diagonal arrow in upper right corner for it to open full screen.  Any ideas how to correct this - it is so annoying.  Thanks for any help!

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

  • How can I create a new folder in de tool bar?

I have several bookmarks of news papers and magazines located in the tool bar. Since they take space I need for other bookmarks, I need to place them in a folder which will also be located in the tool bar. How can do to achieve that?...I did it once but I forgot how I did it.

Just like you would create a new folder anywhere. Open the drive's icon from your desktop or the Finder, and click shift-command-N. (Or use the Finder menu if you prefer - File - New Folder).
If you can't create a folder, your drive may be the wrong format (you can't write to a Windows/NTFS formatted drive, for example). You'll have to back up any files you have on there, and then use Disk Utility to reformat it to Mac Extended (if it will only be used on a Mac) or MS-DOS format (if you want to share it with a PC).
