Creating screen shots

Hi guys,
New to imovie and I am trying to add a screen shot (or whatever it might be called in video lingo) at the beginning of the movie. I made it in Illustrator (contains stylized text and a logo image) and then exported the screen as a jpg & tiff to a folder in iphoto. The images appear in imovie okay in the "photos" panel, but when I place them they look terrible. What am I doing wrong? Is there a size I should be making them so that they can appear as clear as they do in Illustrator or Preview? I made the screen shots to be 800x600. I just want the text and logo to look good and not blurry or pixelated.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

.. my first 'iMovie tricks' was .mac hosted, but due to amount of demo-videos, the traffic was sometimes close to quota limit.. so I switched a while ago to googlepages, a free service, and with some nasty html-tricks, I was able to include my videos too ..

(read about an excellent Apple tool 'Podcast Producer', but is only avail with OsXServer, you don't get it 'single' and no one can give me some 'first hand reports' .. I don't want to broadcast from my tiny MacMini, I'm just looking for the screengrabbing features, that app offers.. hmmm.. but Jings and Copernicus is good enough for my needs.. )

If u want take the screen shot there are different free software are there eg: Screen grabber: this is very useful for grabbing the desired the area from the required screen.
2. if u wanna take the comple screen shot then press hot key ALT + Print screen and save it in the word document. if u want add it as a saperate image paste that screen shot in the MS paint and save it as JPEG, so that the size wil in very less.

Creating screen shots like those in FCP tutorial DVD's

I have a questions to those bastions of FCP knowlegde who create all those wonderful tutorial DVD's on how to use all the fancy Apple Pro Tools. Almost all of the tutorial DVD's show the teacher working on the screen. You can see the mouse moving around the screen and all the windows opening so you can follow along in your book. I have a client who wants to show off their software for use in a HD marketing video we are creating.
Short of setting up a camera in front of one of their machines is there a way to capture the screen they are working on? I'm referring to the discs from Shane Ross and the guys at Total Training. Screen grabs won't do me much good as they are only stills. I've tried doing some very basic searches but don't even really know the terminology to describe what I want.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can do with Google links or others links that will point me in the right direction.

I plan on capturing from a Windows based machine and editing into FCP. Both the programs you recommended look awesome but appear to for use with Macs. I will keep plugging away with the search criteria you sent me. Anymore recommendations out there.

Screen shot (Adobe Pro 9.0.0)

1st issue: after using camera symbol to create screen shot, I cannot paste it into the same or other PDF document (e.g. for comparison due overlapping). In the previous Acrobat version Pro 8.1.2 it was possible to do this.
2nd issue: if I export this screen shot to e.g. MS Word or MS Power point, the resolution is very low. It is also not better if I enlarge the part of PDF document. HOw coult I improve resolution from the screen shot?

I am more than willing to sit with you in an Adobe ConnectNow session and let you take over my machine to see what is going on.
If you can't reproduce the problem internally, you should at least try to see what is going on with any one of us.
I will even bring my machine to the NYC Adobe office for a day to let Gary Cosimini or someone else in NYC look at it.

Unfortunately, what you describe isn't a common problem. It is pretty surprising, but hopefully it's a simple as clicking or pressing the wrong thing. So, to find this out we need to know, step by step, at the most basic level, what you click or type EXACTLY and what you see. That should let us get to the cause.

Creating a screen shot field in FormsCentral

Can anyone tell me how I might create a field in my form for the form filler to insert a screen shot? I see there is a photo option, but I need THEM to paste in their screen shot.

FormsCentral was originaly created to create online form. Attachments are supposed with online form.
We added the ability to save your form as a PDF but unfortunately the way that Acrobat and Reader submit attachments is not compatible with the FormsCentral service.
If you want to manage your data collection yourself you can create a PDF using FormsCentral (without a submit button) and then add attachment fields to the PDF in Acrobat. You will also need to add a Submit button to your form in Acrobat. You can set it up to submit the PDF to your email address including attachments. For help with Acrobat Forms you can look at the Acrobat form forum

Screen shots not seen by Windows user. How come?

When I create a screen shot on my MacBook, and send it to someone using Windows, it appears to them as a blank square. Anyone know why?

Open the Screen Shot (png) with Preview. File > Export… Select JPEG, Best, and give it a shorter, more user friendly name. Save it to your Desktop where you can easily find it.
You do not need some third-party software reference when the tools to do the job are included with OS X.

Updated microsoft word 2011 version 14.4.3 and it does not have an "illustrations" grouping or "screen shot" option like 2010 did.

I clicked the update for my microsoft word program that came with my macbook pro when it showed there were updates. Now I have Microsoft Word 2011 Version 14.4.3 It seems to have LESS options that the previous version and is not user friendly.
I can't find help information on line about it either because it is too new? I used the "illustrations" grouping, and " screen shot" options all of the time to create documents to be used in my teaching. Now I can't figure
out how to do that with the new version. It seems they were taken out??????? If that is the case, how do I reverse the update and get my previous version back?

Follow below steps
Step 1 - Create basic wdp table
Step 2 - Create context to store dropdown values Within your web dynpro application table
Now you need to create a context node to store the dropdown values, but this needs to be within the context node of your table.
For this example I will use fields CARRID and CARRNAME from structure SCARR to create the dropdown list within the table context.
Choose the attributes to represent the id and the text values
The finished context should now look like this
Step 3 - Update context mapping within VIEW
Within the Context tab of your view update the context node you have just modified (CARRIERS) right click and select 'Update Mapping'. Alternatively if this is a new context drag it from the right hand window and drop it onto the context node in the left window,
Step 4 - Update table field
Within the layout tab of the view, field the table field you want to replace with with a dropdown and remove the UI element associated with it
Now insert new dropdownbyindex UI cell element
Step 5 - Assign Dropdown Ui element to Context
Click on your UI element within the Layout tab, you will now see all the properties for this element which can be changed. You now need to assign the field within the context which you want to be displayed in the drop down i.e. it will be the CARRNAME field within context element DROPDOWN_CARR. To do this simply click on the button at the end of the 'texts' property (the one with a yellow square and circle on it) and select the correct context field.
Step 6 - ABAP code to populate dropdown list and set correct initial value
Insert the following ABAP code into the appropriate place. For this example it will go within the WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view.
Data: it_scarr type standard table of scarr, wa_scarr like line of it_scarr, context_node type ref to if_wd_context_node. Data: it_ddcarr type STANDARD TABLE OF if_main=>element_DROPDOWN_CARR, wa_ddcarr like line of it_ddcarr, lr_element TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element, ld_tabix type sy-tabix, ld_index type sy-index, it_carriers type STANDARD TABLE OF if_main=>element_CARRIERS, wa_carriers like line of it_ddcarr. select * from scarr into table it_scarr. sort it_scarr by carrid. * select * from scarr into table it_scarr. context_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'CARRIERS' ). * Get all rows of table and values stored in each cell currently displayed to user context_node->get_static_attributes_table( importing table = it_carriers ). if sy-subrc eq 0. loop at it_carriers into wa_carriers. free lr_element. ld_tabix = ld_tabix + 1. * assign context_node to table context context_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'CARRIERS'). * assign lr_element to row of table lr_element = context_node->get_element( ld_tabix ). * assign data to dropdown of the row context_node = lr_element->get_child_node( name = 'DROPDOWN_CARR'). context_node->BIND_TABLE( it_scarr ). * Set correct initial value read table it_scarr into wa_scarr with key carrid = wa_carriers-carrid. ld_index = sy-tabix. context_node->set_lead_selection_index( index = ld_index ). endloop. endif.
Step 6 - Save, Activate and Run
Save and activate your abap web dynpro, now when you execute it you should see a drop down object similar to the following:

Not correctly printing cropped screen shots in Word documents

I have a C4480 All-in-one that works fine except for one really annoying thing. I create documents using Microsoft Word that use PC screen shots inserted into the document. I paste the screen shot into the document then use the Word cropping tool to crop the view of the screen shot.
Looking at the print preview of the document, everything looks great - but when I print it, the cropping of the screen shot has changed!
Anyone have any ideas on what's happening?

The distortion was slightly visible in the JPG images in the
WYSIWYG but the SnagIt images looked fine. Both types were present
in the Word doc prior to importing and have always printed out fine
in Word. The images were not added after the import.
I know the original screen capture is fine. When I captured
the same screen in RoboScreenCapture, inserted it into my Word
document before importing - it printed out without any distortion.
SnagIt saves as a .png whereas the RH version saved it as a .gif. I
did resolve the JPG issue by saving those as GIFs. That's why I
thought maybe RH has a problem converting from one format to the
other.
