Creating users on MS-Exchange 2007

Hi All,
I am using OIM 9.1.0.1 with Web logic 10.3 and trying to provision the user in ms-exchange 2007 installed on windows 2003 and using 9114 AD & Exchange connectors .
I am able to provision the users on AD with SSL. When I am provisioning into Exchange it's showing provisioned at OIM end but user mail box is not creating on Exchange, users mail recipient type showing as 'mail user' not 'User MailBox'. When trying to open that user on exchange server its giving message as invalid 'ExtenalEmail address '.
anybody knows the solution, please share....
Regards,
Kankdekar

User is created in Exchange but still the RecipientType in Exchange is MailUser.

  • Recreation of user mailbox from exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

In my domain I was using Exchange 2007 earlier. I have installed Exchange 2013 successfully and running perfectly. I have one Issue:
    1. A user's mailbox in Exchange 2007 was disabled from Exchange 2007 and recreated on Exchange 2013.
When a user try to send mail from outlook be it old one(2007) or new exchange(2013), gets NDR
If user send via owa it get delivered.
    2. External mails are coming and user can send also like gmail or yahoo.
This is not an issue of cached address (outlook) I have checked this possibility.
    Any luck

    Hi,
From your description, OWA works well, the issue is related to Outlook side. In your case, I recommend you update the Address Book manually on Outlook and check the result. If the issue persists, you need to re-create the profile.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Creating multiple mailboxes on Exchange 2007 fails

    Hi All,
We have a problem to create multiple mailboxes simultaneously on Exchange 2007 using the OIM Exchange connector. Only one of the mailboxes is created when multiple powershell scripts are launched at the same time. This problem only occurs in the production environment and not on the Exchange 2007 test server. Therefore it's likely to be an Exchange 2007 server setting causing the other powershell processes and mailboxes to fail. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    Thanks,
    Albin

    hi.
have you managed to solve this issue? we have a similar problem when updating some exchange mailbox variables through powershell cmds via OIM. if we run several cmds simultaneously, or right after each other, only the first one is run. tried googling it, but no luck so far.

  • How to fetch size limits of users mailboxes in exchange 2007

    Hi Team,
I've a list of users who scattered on different SGs of same server in exchange 2007. The Exchange Server is SCC cluster.
My query is to input the user list (.txt file) and find out the storage quota limits (IssueWarning, Prohibit Send and Prohibit send and recive) currently set on listed user mailboxes. The output shouold be in .txt or .csv file.
Please help me in writing the power shell command to fetch the required details
    Thanking you

This will read the names from the txt file and export the details to a csv file
    Get-Content "C:\userlist.txt" | ForEach-Object {Get-Mailbox $_ | Select-Object DisplayName, IssueWarningQuota, ProhibitSendQuota, ProhibitSendReceiveQuota} | Export-Csv C:\Userquota.csv
But it will show unlimited if the user having database default quota. Below command will show you the database quota settings

  • Exchange active sync cannot connect to server after migration mailbox user from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 coexistence

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl
I have a problem with exchange 2013 active sync.
I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?

i have run the activesync test connectivity and get some error :

I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem

  • Exchange 2007: user not found

    Hi all,
I have a very strange problem..... I've been using Sun IDM 8.0 for quite some time now to manage Users in an exchange 2007 environment, without major issues. Now I finally got a new, improved test-environment, which includes a test-active-directory and a test exchange 2007 installation. Just two servers, probably the smallest possible configuration.
Now, everything works fine when I stick to the regular exchange 2007 management-tools, but it just won't work when using sun idm. :-(
I can create and modify activedirectory accounts without any issues, but when setting "recipient type" to UserMailbox, the operation suceeds but no mailbox is created. I activated tracing in the gateway and there is "getRecipientType: user not found" messages, which I suppose are related to my issue.
I definitly run the same idm-configuration in my production-environment without any issues. My exchange-admin claims that the exchange-environment has no differences either. I tried to run the gateway both on the domain controler and the exchange 2007 server, but found no difference.
Sadly, I'm running out of ideas..... :-(
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    CU,
    Patrick.

Problem was caused by 32-bit-gw on 64-bit-platform. Strange error-message, though.

  • Long time creating Exchange 2007 mailbox

    Hi everybody.
I´m creating a mailbox in Exchange 2007 when provisioning users in AD, and it looks fine. The problem is the time spent in doing it (approximately 2:30 minutes). I´ve been researching but did not solved it.
Any idea of what could be the cause?
    Regards.

    Hi Rookie,
as a matter of fact, you are quite ahead of the rest of us.
I have tried over and over to create Mailboxes using the Exchange 2007 in IDM. But, so far, unsuccessfully.
Creating users in AD works fine. For some reason, IDM refuses to create mailboxes.
if you have actually succeeded in accomplishing this (albeit slowly), I would love to know how you did it.
    Thanks

  • Free/Busy not working Exchange 2007 and 2013 co-existence

    Hi,
I'm migrating our Exchange 2007 environment to Exchange 2013. Now I am in a co-existence environment where all the mailboxes except some test-users resides on Exchange 2007. Between Users on the same Exchange MBX Server athe FREE/BUSY Information sharing
works correctly, but between Exchange 2007 and 2013 it's not working.
I verified my settings and also the EWS virtual directory on 2007 CAS Servers using Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory.
The internal and the external URLs are set to https://legacy.mydomain.com/....
    What am I missing?
    Thanks & Kind Regards,
    Jürgen

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that the free/busy information between Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 is not available for your coexistence environment. To narrow down the issue, please check the following points:
    1. Does the issue happen to all users or specific users?
    2. Although a user on Exchange 2013 can't get free/busy information from a user on Exchange 2007, please confirm whether Exchange 2007 user can get free/busy information from Exchange 2013 users.
    3. Close Outlook and only access user mailbox from OWA to check whether the issue persists. For Outlook client,
    create a new Outlook profile
    to have a try.
    4. Please make sure the virtual directories settings are configured correctly in both Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2007.
Virtual directories settings in Exchange 2007:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-3-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-2-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx
    5. Restart IIS service in Exchange server by running iisreset /noforce from a command prompt window.
If possible, please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration in Outlook to check whether the autodiscover service can get correct Availability service URL in the results. If there is any event logs, please collect some for further analysis.

  • Provisioning to Exchange 2007 failing

    Hi All,
I have installed the Exchange 2007 connector to create the mailbox of the users in the Exchange 2007. This requires Remote manager as well so did the configuration of the remote manager as per the guide.
Now when i try to provision the user to Exchange 2007 after it is successfully provisioned into AD.
The users mailbox is not created.
The Exchange provisioning task performs the following tasks.
    1. first it check if the mailbox is already present in the Exchange.
    2. If it is not present then it execute the scripts createmailboxexchange2007.vbs script using the remote manager.
    3. It then again checks if the mailbox is created.
At this check it is giving the basically the information:
    "DEBUG,09 Nov 2009 14:01:19,977,[OIMCP.MEXC],com.thortech.xl.integration.Exchange.tcExchangeTasks : checkMailboxCreation : No value for homeMDB fetched
INFO,09 Nov 2009 14:01:19,978,[OIMCP.MEXC],com.thortech.xl.integration.Exchange.tcExchangeTasks : checkMailboxCreation : Unable to execute the Power Shell command"
So basically it is not able to fetch the homeMDB as it was unable to execute the Power shell command.
I am not getting any logs on the Remote manager side but i guess the remote manager is not able to execute the power shell command.
    Any ideas??

I would also check if you can call the .vbs script from a stand-alone Java program and if you really want to troubleshoot, from an RMI server that you build yourself (takes 15 mins). OIM remote manager is an RMI server. One issue could be JDK permissions (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/permissions.html), the default in the JDK you're using may not allow execution of scripts.
If the permissions are ok, I can't think of anything else. Maybe the same JDK on OIM and remote manager? It shouldn't matter but it could.

  • Moving mailbox from exchange 2013 back to exchange 2007 ..

    Hi Guys,
I recently configured configured co-existence between exchange 2007 and exchange 2013. I moved a pilot user from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 and now the user has issues receiving mails.
I am trying to move the user back to 2007 pending the resolution of the issue. The move status says completed but the mailbox remains in the exchange 2013 environment.
I need to return the user to an exchange 2007 mailbox database ..any ideas on what I am missing.

..forever is just a minute away*

    Hi Richard,
Please move your mailbox from Exchange 2013 to 2007 from the Exchange 2013 admin center (EAC) and the Exchange Management Shell instead of EMC in Exchange 2007.
Then check whether the issue persists. If possible, please provide more error logs for further analysis.

  • Exchange 2007 Export-Mailbox Error Message on only certain mailbox

I have searched high and low for a solution to this, but no such luck. Hopefully someone has had the same issue and can help me out.
I am attempting to export and then remove a date range for mailboxes before I migrate to an Exchange 07 server. The mailboxes range in the 10 GB range. I am attempting to use the Exchange 2007 cmdlet to do this with due to it does not have a 2 GB limit like the Exmerge of past.
The command I am using is as follows:
[PS] C:\>Export-Mailbox -Identity User -StartDate "01/01/07" -EndDate "01/30/08"
    -IncludeFolders "\Inbox","\Sent Items" -PSTFolderPath c:\PST\pst.pst
This command works fine on some of the mailboxes in the Exchange03 system. But on some of the mailboxes I am getting the following error.
Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to t
he destination mailbox store with error:
MAPI or an unspecified service provider.
ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164
    Any ideas?

    Hello Joe Rod (and others)
Thought I'd bring this over as a cross post because no-one seems to be picking it up in the 'admin' section. I believe I'm having a similar issue to yourself, as detailed below:
    Hi all,
I've already posted this same question elsewhere, but if anyone here can resolve the issue or suggest a better way (without using archiving software - yet!), I'd be most grateful. I'd even be happy if someone can replicate the problem so I know I'm not going mad... I'm trying to set up a quick & dirty quarter year pst mail archive for one of our users on our Exchange 2007 (SP1) box. Using the command:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -enddate "01/03/2007"
I come up against this error:
Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164
Which I understand is a fairly standard permissions error. Problem is that I know the permissions are set correctly, having tested the function by removing the -enddate parameter; and getting a successful export.
I worked out after a while that the command seems to fall over when it hits a subfolder, so I tested this by using the -includefolders parameter. The command:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -includefolders '\inbox' -enddate "01/03/2007"
will fail if there are any subfolders under '\inbox'. Add the names of the subfolders:
    export-mailbox -id userA -pstfolderpath \\testpath\test.pst -includefolders '\inbox\subfolder1' -enddate "01/03/2007"
and as long as those subfolders don't have any subfolders, I will get a successful export.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers
    Dan
If anyone is able to replicate this, please let me know, I'd love to get this sorted. If it is a known problem - can I use someone's PSS contact please?!
